I have been going to Dr. Couret for a few years now. I love it there. I have never have someone photograph inside my mouth before and take the time to go over in detail where I have/might have or had problems. They really are patient, the staff is young knowledgeable and its hip: good location, parking in the back, the office doesn’t feel like a depressing medical center. Dente is a good mix of cutting edge environment meets old-school chairside manner.

Finally found a dentist I can call my own and I couldn’t be more pleased! Dr. Couret and his staff are EXCELLENT and came highly recommended by my coworkers and I was not let down! I’ve sampled many other practices in Chicago over the last 10 years and Dente has put me more at ease with their top notch services, communication, professionalism and kindness than any other place. I have been a patient for 8 months already, and just went in for a visit today and felt secure with all the precautions thar they have taken to ensure the safety of both their staff and patients. I’ve seen Dr. Couret and the other Dente hygienists a lot more than normal over the last few months to catch up on all the dental care I was procrastinating on because truthfully, I was scared of the discomfort and judgment. But after loads of visits – deep cleanings, cavity fillings, cracked tooth repair – I’m back to regular cleanings and could not believe that this was the first time in a long time that I went to the dentist and was not afraid or anxious at all. Dr. Couret and everyone at Dente are truly gems and I am truly relieved that I found them.Finally found a dentist I can call my own and I couldn’t be more pleased! Everything everyone has posted about Dente, Dr. Couret and his staff is absolutely true. I moved to Chicago about a year and a half ago. I had a dental emergency and went to a downtown dentist who was absolutely horrible. As I live in Bucktown, I literally stumbled across Dente by walking by it. I have had two appointments there-one for a general exam and another for a tooth extraction last week. I have never met such a kind dentist who explained everything and made the procedure as pleasant as possible. His staff is excellent, very professional and very caring. I have never seen anyone waiting in his office and they have scheduled my appointments around my unusual schedule and cheerfully rescheduled a couple of times when I had to cancel or postpone.They have a very comfortable and small office that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you enter-it really is more like a lounge than a doctor’s office. Also, I paid nearly 60% LESS at Dente than I did for the same procedure at the “other” downtown place I mentioned-and that’s a lot when you are paying out-of-pocket cash! Let’s face it, nobody wants to go to a dentist, but if you need to, you won’t find a better one than Dente.

Dr. Couret and his staff are not only great at their jobs, but they are also incredibly personable and friendly. As someone who has moved several times in my life and had probably 5 dentists, I can easily say Dr. Couret and his staff are the best. I’ve had a history of dental issues and not only has Dr. Couret helped me correct existing problems, he has also worked with me to create a personalized dental regimen aimed at preventing future issues. I’m consistently impressed with the level of care at Dente. Dr. Couret along with the entire staff always go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and at ease; the office is always in impeccable condition; they are constantly keeping up with trends and making sure that they are offering the best care possible. That has continued in the wake of the current pandemic. They took every measure possible to make the office clean, sterile, safe – and yet still warm and welcoming. Today was my first visit to Dente. I went in thinking I had my first cavity after not being to a dentist in 3 years and a bit worried with what else they may find. I was greeted with a smile by the friendly Katie. Dr. Couret was equally friendly and kind! They were both very informational about all of the procedures they were doing. Never have I had a dentist tell me why he was using a pick on my gums. He was very patient with all the questions I had too! The office is conveniently located, for me, in Bucktown and their hours are flexible! I think I will definitely refer Dente to everyone I meet who needs a new dentist! Oh, and the great news is that I didn’t even have a cavity after all, but I now have a new, wonderful dentist and team! Thanks Again!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Couret for my dental needs for years–before he began his own office even. From Day 1–he was amazing. After years with no dental insurance, I needed a lot of work done, and was insanely anxious. Dr. Couret is an expert at putting you at ease and making you feel at home. And he seems to take the time needed to ensure his staff does the same. My teeth look amazing, and you will not find a more caring, comforting team in Chicago. They take the time to not just check your teeth, but to check of any issues that might arise, including cancers that other doctors may overlook. My husband and I are in the middle of planning a long-distance move, and I can’t even begin to think about finding a new dentist. Excellent COVID19 Sanitation protection practices for their patients. Professional treatment from the time I walked in the door until I left. I am very pleased with the state of the art technology and techniques, also the partnership and unity by the staff in helping each other. No negative behavior, or attitude as another coworker helped the assistant to take my X-ray’s with as much precision and patience. I usually get mouth sores after X- ray’s but I’m thankful and grateful I didn’t this time. I think I found one of the best dentists around. When I signed on as a patient, Dr. Couret met with me to discuss my oral health goals–yes, start thinking about your oral health goals–and to evaluate any issues I might be having. Every step of the way, he explained what he saw, what I needed to do and why. After my consultation and subsequent visit, I think I could carry on a detailed conversation about dental issues if anyone ever wanted to. 🙂 When I came for a cleaning, Abbey, my hygienist, taught me exactly what to do to combat some of the problems with my teeth and mouth. Although I’ve been pleased with the hygienists at other offices who have helped me in the past, I’ve never had someone so instructive about oral care! At the front desk, Zhana made sure I understood my insurance coverage, putting up with all my questions about what I’d owe for each visit and procedure. (As a recent grad, I’ve never done this on my own before!) I’ve recommended Dente to a friend already, and I’m recommending Dente here on Yelp, too!

I have been a patient of Dr Couret for about a year and a half. His assistants are very nice and proffessional. One in particular, I think Zhanna is her name. She always returns my calls, sends me my invoices in advance when I request them, and clarifies any insurance questions or issues. The clinic is also very clean and the environment is relaxing. Dr Couret is very proffessional as well. He is always in a good mood and seems very chill most of the time. Even when he is very busy, he never comes off as stressed or rushed. Everyone that works here really seems like one big family. I can not remember how I found this dentist, but I am really glad I did.

I have been to a lot of dentist and none have made me as comfortable as Emilio and his team. I used to dread going to the Dentist and now I no longer do! Emilio has repaired one filling and done one more and the experience has been far superior than the others I have had. Every other Dentist that I went to that did a filling always made it a painful experience during the filing and after. But not Emilio, not sure what or how he does it but who cares. His oral hygienist Abbey is wonderful as well, I didn’t know there was a such thing as an amazing cleaning and hygiene consultation but I do now! If your looking for an amazing dentist and team look no further you have arrived.

I’ve been going here since November 2008. That morning I woke up and the mother of all dental emergencies—and Dente was the only place that would squeeze me in. After alot of dental procedures and having to come the office almost monthly for what seemed like forever, everything is back to normal. The office staff was always very accommodating and are wonderful to work with. You are never a number to them, they remember everyone by name. First things first: Dr. Couret is the ONLY dentist I’ve had who has made a numbing shot not feel like pain—this alone deserves 10 stars and an immediate phone call to schedule a filling/crown. I have waited a while to write a review so I can give a complete review for the work that I’ve had done with Dr. Couret. It’s always a great time when I get dental work done at Dente. Dr. Couret’s equipment is all updated with the newest technology (at least that’s what I think compared to the dental offices I’ve been to in the past), and his office is always kept clean with the jolliest employees I have ever met. The seats also have a memory foam topper, which makes it easy to almost fall asleep in when you’re numbed up and getting work done. I’m a Chicago transplant who didn’t know where to even look to find a good dentist. I needed a new dentist last year after my last dental office gave me a crown that fell out 4 times within a year, and the dentist kept changing due to a high turnover rate. I knew I needed another crown done, but did not feel comfortable having it done at my last dental office. My fiance recommended Dente, and it may have been the best thing he’s done for me besides proposing. I made a phone call and was able to schedule a visit within the next week. Dr. Couret addressed all my concerns, and I have since had fillings and crowns performed by him, all of which I am impressed by. Dr. Couret will answer any and all dental concerns, from answering what certain equipment does, to answering questions why my tooth might look or feel funny. My crown has not come off for 6 months (may be a low bar due to my past experience), and my fillings always feel nice and smooth. I’m a huge smiler so I do take my teeth seriously, and I’ve never been happier and more confident with my smile! covid note- I’ve been to Dente twice since the Covid-19 epidemic, and they maintain the upmost sanitation standards with facemasks and shields, and sanitation devices everywhere.

All the assistants are so welcoming and let me know everything they’re about to do to me, thank you Cari. Dr. Emilio Cuarte is amazing in his field. Dr. Couret and his staff are amazing and do a wonderful job helping those who are anxious about going to the dentist. I had to get some old fillings fixed as well as a deep cleaning since it had been a while since I’d been to the dentist. There was no judgement for avoiding dental work over the years, and they were very sensitive to my feedback about being anxious about the dentist and if anything hurt in my mouth while they worked. They constantly checked in that I was still doing ok and to let them know if anything hurt or I was uncomfortable. Most dentists I feel would try to power forward and say they’re almost done, but Dr. Couret and his team would take the time to pause, reassess, and ensure I was comfortable, even if it would take a little longer. Their office is also outfitted with the latest and greatest technology which made many parts of the experience much more friendly and less invasive. I would recommend them to anyone as a dentist in general, they do great work, and especially to anyone who, like me, is anxious about dental care and painful procedures.

I’ve been a patient at Dente for a couple of years now and have referred several friends and coworkers to their office. Easily the best dentist I’ve ever been to. The office is impeccable, the staff is SO nice, and Dr. Couret is a fantastic, personable, and sincerely caring dentist. I visited the office today (my first medical visit of any kind since Covid started) and was blown away by the lengths they have taken to keep their patients (and themselves!) safe. I could tell that they’d left no stone unturned in terms of sanitation practices. Honestly can’t say enough good stuff about these folks.

I loved this dentist experience so much that I followed up with a thank you after my visit. I went to Couret. Had 1 cavity and 4 (or 3?) of the sealant on my teeth were leaking. I do not mind doing a cleaning, but when it comes to cavities, I HATE it. I cry… no, sorry, I SOB after. So when Couret told me about sedation dentistry I thought it was too good to be true. Why don’t more dentists do this? Now, post fillings, I refer to that day as “my trip to the spa.” Omg, the fillings went great. I wasn’t nervous at all. Everyone was so kind and patient with me. Night before, I took a valium. I show up to my appt an hour early to take another valium. They put me in the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in, gave me an incredibly soft blanket, and encouraged me to sit and listen to music. I did that for about an hour, then the fillings started. Couret and his dental hygienist were kind the whole time, and quick. Afterwards they gave me applesauce and water, and wheeled me out to my ride home. And gave me additional medication to take if the pain was too much (but, I did not need to take any). Special thank you to Couret of course, and Z was so kind during the whole process answering all of my questions (even when I asked the same question a couple of times) and wheeling me out to the office. And I do not remember the dental hygienists name that was assisting Dr. Couret but she was very sweet and I really appreciated how she rubbed my arm every time Couret used a needle to numb me. Sedation dentistry is the only way to go!

I have been a patient of Dr. Couret for 7 years! That should say a lot. He is an amazing dentist. I have always felt comfortable in his office and every visit has been practically pain free. The entire office is extremely professional and also friendly. I like the appointment reminders I get and the post-visit follow up when needed. I recently needed a root canal and Dr. Couret referred me to a specialist who did an excellent job. The two doctors communicated frequently about my case which I found to be very reassuring. This is not a fun experience to go through but they both made it as easy as possible and I could really sense that they didn’t want me to be in any unnecessary pain. I would definitely recommend Dr. Couret’s office for general dentistry. He is also bilingual so if you or a family member are more comfortable speaking Spanish this is a great choice for dentist.

“I love going to the dentist!” said no one ever, right? But somehow I actually feel this way about Dente and Dr. Couret & his team. I’ve been going there for several years now, but like many I worried about going in during a pandemic. But the need for clean won out, and I booked an appointment. Just as they promised, they’re maintaining social distance among clients (I arrived and phoned them, and was brought directly into the exam space for my cleaning). Staff are masked up with proper PPE and the whole experience felt very safe. My teeth are happy, and so am I.

I switched over to Dr. Couret after my dentist retired, Dr. Couret had removed an impacted wisdom tooth for me back in 2011. Needing a new dentist, I felt comfortable making an appointment at Dr. Couret’s office. His staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about insurance cost and coverage along with the procedures that I was getting done. They really made me feel at ease and we’re very accommodating. I went in for two fillings and Dr. Couret and his assistant did an amazing job, Dr. Couret even checked in with me the following day to see how I was feeling and to make sure that my bite was ok. His team of staff went above and beyond for me and made me feel extremely comfortable, even when the procedures themselves aren’t the most comfortable.

Absolutely 100% amazing. Kind, patient, professional…did I mention kind and patient? For anyone that is dentistphobic like me, I cannot recommend Dente enough. I adore Dr. Couret and his staff at Dente. I had asked my child’s dentist if she knew of someone and she recommended Dr. Couret. It’s usually a good sign when a dentist recommends another dentist. Dr. Couret was not only thorough and practical in his approach, but also incredibly kind and dare I say fun. That’s a rarity. I had a huge dental problem that required visits to several specialists, and Dr. Couret sent me to his most trusted colleagues. They were great as well. He cultivated a professional relationship of trust. As I went through a painful and depressing episode with my tooth, he never gave up on me. He communicated regularly with me to see if I’d improved and he often had me come in to evaluate my progress. I really respect his professionalism and I like him personally. His office is modern and clean and his staff is friendly, responsive, and respectful. I can’t say enough good things about his practice. A real winner!

Nicest. People. Ever! I have been going to Dr. Couret for roughly three years now. I have never had such a kind, gentle, patient dentist. The office is cozy and easy to get to. He and the staff are incredible. They have flexible hours and they go the extra mile for their patients: my jaw was broken from an accident in late 2008; Dr. Couret called several of his colleagues to find out the best prescription mouthwash for me to use since my mouth was wired shut, and he even called it in for me without an office visit. He just referred me to a TMJ specialist who is the best in the area. I wouldn’t go to any other dentist.

My experience was so easy, painless, enlightening, i felt educated when I left, the goodie bag was A1!!! No dentist has ever given me a Sonicare tooth brush and other fun things to help me get my teeth in tip top shape until now. I wasnt in any pain (my biggest concerns from my past and all the horror stories), the exams performed were nothing like in my past I felt like the care of not just my mouth, but everything that ties to the health of your body overall was wonderful, clean and just something I was just happy and at ease mentally.
