I went there because of my tooth extraction, which was necessary for my braces. Each staff was extremely careful because of the COVID-19, they also take care that their patients are also careful, so I appreciate the measures they take against to virus. I am a person who is terribly afraid of the dentist, but fortunately, everyone in the office was incredibly helpful, and they did their best to comfort me. The day I went Dr. Shay wasn’t there, and the other doctor in the office pulled out my tooth. I do not remember his name, unfortunately, but he was extremely good and professional. I felt literally no pain! I can’t thank them enough, because they did help me a lot to keep me so warm and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Dr. Shay has been my dentist for over 16 yrs now. I will never go to anyone else!! Even if I moved out of state, I would come see him at least once a yr. If you need a dentist, see Dr. Shay!! He has the best care for his patients. I’m so thankful and blessed by this mans service to me and my whole family.

Hi everyone! Dr Shay and his staff are the best! I have taken my child here for about 4 years now. It is very clean and they are all highly professional. He is a great dentist and honest. Trust me, this is the dentist you want to go to. Go! You won’t regret it. I have seen many dentist from Los Angeles to Long Beach and I can tell you this place is different. They have made my child have a very positive experience with the dentist. When my child was 3 years old I took her to see 5 different dentist and they all had different things to say about my child’s teeth. It ranged from 1 crowns to 5 fillings. They all said different things. I kept going to so many dentist because I was scared my child was going to have a traumatic experience getting a crown at 3 years old. The information given to me at every dentist place just didn’t make sense to me. I finally found Dr.Shays office and he said it was a small cavity, but her other tooth was already growing in and it would be very little time until the other permanent tooth would push it out. There was no need for a crown or for a filling. He was right! In about 2 months her tooth fell out. I am so grateful to Dr.Shay and his staff. His place is clean, organized, friendly, and he is honest. I have never waited more than 15 minutes in their waiting area. It is a good place to go! I highly recommend Dr.Shay. During this Covid 19 time I took my child for a check up and they asked my child to wash her hands and rinse her mouth. They also did a temperature check for me and my child. Also, Only one other person was waiting in the area. The chairs indicate where we can sit for safety. Dr Shay and his staff were all wearing their face mask correctly. It looked clean and We felt safe. Hola Todos, Dr Shay es muy buen dentista. Todos los de su oficina son amables. Yo a llevado a mi hija aqui por mucho tiempo. Con este dentista son limpios, amables y honestos. Hagan su cita. Es muy buen lugar. No se van a arrepentir. Ellos aceptan medical y ppo. Pueden llamar y preguntar. Tambien ha hido en el tiempo de Covid. Al entrar nos tomaron la temperatura, nos pidieron que nos lavaramos las manos y enjuagar la boca. Nos sentimos muy bien en este lugar.

Absolutely love Dr. Shay and his staff. My family and I have been going to Dr. Shay for about 20 years and have loved him and his work since day one…we will not go to anyone else. Very family oriented and welcoming, you will not be dissatisfied.

We came here to get my mother-in-law fitted for new dentures. The doctors (Dr. Shay and Dr. M.) and staff are incredibly warm, welcoming, and will go out of their way to make the patients feel comfortable and welcomed. Amongst themselves, the staff is like a close family and they all really appreciate and respect each other, and it shows in their work, which is excellent btw. My Mom-in-law’s dentures are amazing and she looks 10 years younger. Hard to find any negatives about this place, but if there is one, it’s that they will try very hard to sell the elective procedures (implants, etc) which aren’t covered by insurance or Medicare. They are very expensive, but as stated earlier, these guys do incredible work and if you can afford it, you’ll be pleased for sure. If you can’t, they will respect your choice to forego the electives and still do all they can to help you get the best results.

If you’re a person like me who has had many traumatic experiences at the dentist, who has anxiety attacks at the thought of any dental work, PLEASE DROP THE DENTIST YOU HAVE. IF YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR INSURANCE OR WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO, MAKE IT WORK BECAUSE THIS MAN IS AMAZING AND GENUINELY CARES ABOUT PEOPLE!!!!!! My story: I hadn’t had a deep cleaning in five years previous to this review due to the fact that I didn’t have insurance. The accumulation of build up had taken a toll on my gums so much that I was starting to develop bloody and swollen gums. They were so sensitive and started to recede. Luckily I was able to get insurance again but didn’t know how to find someone who would listen to my fears and concerns. My friend Eva referred me to him because she had recently had dental work done and was just taken by her experience. (She too had traumatic experiences) Dr. Shay definitely goes above and beyond for his clients. He took the time to listen to why I was so afraid and pretty much crying when I entered his office. He explained to me the first time we met that he doesn’t push his clients to make appointments until they are ready. But based on the condition my gums were in, he recommended for me to not wait that long because bone loss would soon occur. PROCEDURE: Dr. Shay knew that I was afraid of needles as well as the uncertainty of the procedure itself. So he literally walked me through everything he was going to do and how it was going to happen. And to relieve the pain of the needle, he gave me a numbing gel first which helped IMMENSELY before he used the needles. So much that I didn’t really feel the shots. The rest was a breeze after that. He had to use a tool that essentially went under my gum and scraped the build up off. It took two sessions and this he recommended because he likes to divide the sessions by the left and the right side of the mouth. (Depending on what you need done) but this was how my cleaning was done. Lastly, he played meditation like music to help alleviate my anxiety. And once I was done with that first session, he gave me two $5 Starbucks gift cards! (Whaaaaat) Everyone in the office (including Dr.Shay) are so happy and friendly. You can genuinely feel that they are happy to be there. Please go to Dr.Shay if you’re a person like me. Hell even if you’re not go to him anyway. And pass this information on to others. Because professionals such as Dr. Shay need more recognition.

Dr.Shay’s work ethic is beyond what you expect to receive at a regular dental visit. It had been 8+ years since I had a regular dental check up. The accumulation of fear and anxiety that was built in me was beyond anything. I was crying imagining what it would be like. It was my first time walking into a dental office in years ready to book my appointment. Dr.Hymans’ staff recommended him and said he was the best. They weren’t wrong. I had about 4 separate appointments with Dr.Shay . My first consultation with x-rays etc , he assured me of the results he could achieve and said I would feel no pain. I needed a deep cleaning on all quadrants, and a lot of fillings (more than 10). I decided to go through with then procedures and get a teeth whitening as well. My second appointment was a deep cleaning on quadrant 1 (upper right) and quadrant 4(lower right). I had a polishing done as well. All PAIN FREE!! He was detailed and would make sure I was doing well during the procedure, asked if I was okay etc. The staff during the procedure is also 110% there for you. My third appointment he worked on quadrant 2 (upper left) and quadrant 3 (lower left) and a polish. Again making sure I was okay during his procedure both him and his staff made my experience great! I got my teeth whitened after all the procedures. My last appointment he assured me that I have been doing an excellent job with my teeth & gums . Lastly I think Dr.Shay uses some hi tech equipment the chairs are comfortable etc.. and I guarantee you will feel no pain before or after a procedure. I also like the fact that he treated me to some Starbucks gift cards and California Pizza Kitchen gift card.

First off, I have never been a fan of going to the dentist. When I moved to LA I knew I needed to find one ASAP. But was skeptic about where to go. When I came across Dr.Shay’s office from being in pain of my wisdom teeth that had been bothering me for over 3+ years. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly welcoming smile by the receptionist Andrea, (she ‘s so awesome, including the whole staff). I told her there was no way I could afford any type of dental surgery and she introduced me Carecredit. That helped me out so much. Since the beginning everyone was so sweet and sincere about the help I needed. Dr. Shay is amazing at what he does! He really cares about his patients and has so much positive energy! I highly recommend this dentist to everyone or anyone who appreciates great customer service as well as great service.

The care and professionalism is unsurpassed. It’s been a challenge for me to find a dentistry that feels like family, but when I arrived at Dr. Shay’s office, I was greeted and tended to with such care. The wait was quick and easy. I got my dental x-rays/cleaning done by the loveliest FDA named Sally… Dr. Shay was nothing short of wonderful. His expertise and warm personality exceeded my expectations! By far, the best teeth cleaning and Dentist I’ve gone to. I can’t wait to come back on my next appointment. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. SHAY’S DENTAL OFFICE!!! 🙂
