I was amazed at the great service. Dr Apel treated me with respect and caring attitude. As I cringed in the chair today with anticipation of great pain due to an unavoidable root canal, he spoke with me and called me right down. I hardly felt the needle go in. He explained what he was doing and the noises that I was going to hear. When it was all done faster than I had hoped, he was very positive and forward-thinking when he told me that he did not think I needed a crown because he took care of the problem with a filling. Before he left the office, he called to make sure that I was doing okay after the surgery. Best dentist ever! I have never had such an experience in the 15 dentists I have seen in my lifetime. Can I give him more than five stars? He definitely under promised and over delivered which is the best way to run a service-based business!

Designing Smiles is a hidden gem located just south of the Babcock St. and Hibiscus Rd intersection in Melbourne. Dr. Apel and his staff are ultra-proficient in both state of the art dentistry and keeping the patient comfortable. Most of his dental hygienists have worked with him for many years and they truly work together as one unit. Really amazing to see. Our family has used Designing Smiles for at least fifteen years and we are always satisfied customers. He is an artisan in creating both beautiful but natural veneers as well. His office staff is super-on-the-ball as well. We highly recommend this office and this physician!

Dr Apel gives a painless injection when numbing, he has a great chairside manor he explains everything very well and if you want to know what he is doing he will explain as he is working. He personally calls you the night you have had any work done to check on you and see how you are feeling. I find that rare in today’s world. His office is quaint, professional and friendly.

I’m a patient of Dr. Apel & asked him if he did any prosthodontic work ,as my husband’s well known prosthodontist retired. After my exam, Dr. Apel asked me to follow him, which I did and to my amazement who’s sitting in the exam chair but my husband’s prosthodontist!!! I guess that says it ALL!! Talk about a recommendation!!! Dr. Apel is so knowledgeable ,updated, likable, caring, and funny!! I never had such an extensive dental exam. I had a dental procedure and later on that evening, Dr. Apel personally called me to see how I was doing!! You don’t find doctors like that anymore. He’s the BEST!!!!�������

I was shocked to see a negative review of Dr. Apel’s office. He has always been one of the most honest doctors I’ve ever known. The office staff is friendly and does a great job explaining procedures and expected payments, and they have a great appointment reminder system and flexibility in scheduling. Dr. Apel himself is the most thorough dentist I have ever encountered, and goes above and beyond to ensure that I am comfortable during procedures and that I understand what is being done to my teeth. Their payment plan system is pretty good if you don’t have insurance. I’ve recommended him to many friends and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’m honestly worried about having to choose a dentist in the future that lives up to his standards once he retires because he is that good!
