The service here is incredible. Every person from those who answer the phones to those taking care of insurance matters to the doctors and their assistants – all are professional, kind, courteous, filled with good humor and expertise. For those who approach dental work with trepidation, this office will help relieve those concerns with optional warm neck wraps, music on earbuds, eye masks or a pillow under the knees. Procedures are explained fully, questions are dealt with patiently, and all decisions involve the patient’s input. The doctors have a humane, warm approach and show an extraordinarily high level of knowledge, background and ability. A superior choice for dental work in Milwaukee.

FACT: I hate going to the dentist. FACT: I’m not one of those people blessed with perfect teeth and have had some serious dental work done. I’m sure I would be more apt to give any dentist a positive rating if either of those were false. Dr. DeWan has some serious dental skills and he and his staff care about teeth. I’ve been very happy with not only the quality of the work I’ve had done, but also with how I’ve been treated by the staff. The office is close by (relative, but I don’t want to drive 20 minutes to the ‘burbs to get some cavities filled) and they are very email friendly. If you have to get your teeth looked at, may as well go to someone who is progressive, skilled, and convenient.

They are out of my insurance network but I’d rather pay for quality then just get a good deal anywhere. Friendly staff and extremely knowledgeable. I recommend this place to everyone! I’ve been to a lot of dentists and would rather pay twice as much as what they charge, then go to a place that doesn’t provide the same level of service. Trust me it’s worth it. If you care about your health, and see having a nice smile as an investment, this is the place to go!

A fantastic office and Dr. DeWan is amazingly good (and reasonably priced).  My son, who is under 10, actually looks forward to going to the dentist.   No kidding.  Just a really good place for anyone but especially for kids.   Dr. DeWan and his staff are some of the best professionals I have seen in any setting with kids.

Literally, one of the nicest dental offices you will ever visit. A lot of time and effort went into ensuring the patient has a comfortable experience. All of the staff there are very nice people, all with great social skills and good senses of humor, very chatty and not afraid to talk to you like a friend. Both dentists, Dr. DeWan, and Dr. Pelz are both super nice people, and very easy to talk to. At the end of the day I chose another dental practice that is closer to me and is just a better fit for me personally. Would I recommend DeWan? Yes, I absolutely would!

Coming to the office is always a five star event. The surroundings and the staff are exceptional. Our most recent boomer teeth event was no exception. We had taken off for a month long trip on a Saturday, to the southwest, in our small RV, for a family wedding. Four hours into the trip my husband broke off a good part of a back molar. We called the office, spoke to the dentist and returned home. On Monday the team squeezed him into the office and Tuesday, the next day, he had a new crown. Yes, the next day. We made it to the wedding with 2 hours to spare 4 days later. We love you Dewan Dental.

Thoughtful, intelligent, considerate professionals who accepted me — a true dental delinquent for 20 years — and made me feel comfortable with no scolding or shaming involved. We absolutely love our Dental team at DeWan! Not only are they experienced and professional, but they always add that extra, caring touch personally. I’m always amazed at how much each team member remembers about us each visit, as we chat during the visits. Whether it’s the new home we purchased, the recent pet added to the family, work stories, vacations, or other, the DeWan team always remembers these important life details. Dr. and Mrs. are very involved in the community as well, which we love! I’ve been so fortunate (sarcasm) as to have lots of dental work that needed to be completed. DeWan has always been fair, respectful, and encouraging during our care and visits. I was getting pretty discouraged with the amount of dental work (and mounting costs) that needed to be completed, but DeWan assured me I was in good hands and that we’d get me to where I needed to be eventually. They were right and we have been overwhelmingly-pleased with the results of our care! So much so that when we moved from the East Side of Milwaukee to Hales Corners, we retained DeWan for our Dental care. We’ve referred a few friends who were looking for a new Dentist as well, one of whom now is under DeWan’s care and always tells us how happy she is that we referred her. I’ve been a patient at DeWan Dental Wellness ever since I moved to Milwaukee 10 years ago. They provide the best dental services I’ve ever experienced! Part of what makes them special is the extra attention to my comfort. I actually look forward to my regular appointments, because they’re a chance to take a break out of my busy day. Mike, Lora, Amy, and the whole staff do an amazing job.

I have been going to see Dr. Dewan since about 2001. He and his staff have always been great to me. Many years later they are great with my wife and kids, I couldn’t say enough about the service we receive. I needed a lot of work (i have horrible teeth), he built me a plan and tackled the worst problems first, while staying within the boundaries of my insurance plan. They offer headphones and ipods if you need them to relax while they work. Many years later my teeth are in great shape. The people with one star are crazy IMO, he doesn’t just fix cavities to fix cavities. They need to be fixed before they turn into root canals and larger problems.

Dewan Mental Wellness is not a typo but rather my nickname for this medical practice. I love being treated as a whole person, rather than a mouth separated from its body as is too often the case at doctors’ offices. Having studied art, I try to arrive early, allowing a few moments to admire & enjoy the placement and choice of individual art pieces. Patients are treated according to individual needs rather than financial constraints laid down by insurance companies. Individualized attention & much friendliness, combined with skilled treatment put me very much at ease. Unless you have to take the elevator, I advise using the stairs as there is a wonderful treat on the landing.

Dr. Dewan and his staff are so amazing that I drove 8 hours round trip to have chipped and fractured teeth after an auto accident. He was so gentle and showed more than genuine concern about repairing my teeth so that any repair was unnoticeable. I was impressed by his expertise in using crown material that matched my other teeth. I’ve had work done by other dentists nearer to my home, but after Dr. Dewan’s work, I’m left disappointed with the work I had. I just called his office and asked what kind of resin he used specifically and color type to see if my local dentist can get that type for me. If I have to get any more crowns, I am seriously thinking I’ll drive to Milwaukee and make a mini vacation out of the drive. I see it is well worth it. No one compares! I take great care of my teeth and want any work I have to reflect the same effort! If you think dental work is all the same, think again. It’s like buying costume jewelry, or getting the real thing “for the same price”. If you had a priceless ring lose a stone, you wouldn’t replace it with a Cubic Zirconia, would you? As a RN I know what constitutes good health care. And DeWan Dental provides excellent dental care. What I admire most about Dr. DeWan in addition to his dental skills are his communication skills. He listens to my concerns and is very thorough in explaining procedures. I completely trust him. The team at DeWan Dental, also are very professional and attentive to patient comfort. The total environment is so serene and comforting. I am also impressed by Dr. DeWan’s commitment to ongoing dental care education for himself and the team. I also like the patient education emails that Amy sends out with tips on dental care. I came to DeWan Dental through a recommendation from my cousin. Dr. DeWan and his team exceeded my expectations.

Nothing will make me look forward to seeing the dentist, so I typically only go when I am desperate or something hurts. Well, something hurt. I had an abscess, and it was killing me. Due to the recent virus panic, no one is seeing new patients, and I can not even remember who my old dentist was, it’s been so long, I got in within a few days, was x-rayed, and then given an appointment for a root canal the following week. I was also given a prescription for antibiotic. When I returned, I was given an accounting of the costs, after insurance, and an explanation of what was to happen. Everyone was kind, all were respectful, and I was told (warned) that the process would take two hours. The shot for numbing did not hurt, nor did most of the dental work. There were a couple of very brief instances where I felt a stab of pain, but they were very brief, and nothing when you consider that this was a very intrusive procedure – a root canal. I notice that a white filling was used instead of the cheaper mercury amalgams that I am used to. It was an interesting process, while they used the filling, and then cured it. I was warned that my mouth would be sore, and was advised that Advil might help. I noticed little pain though. My tooth felt like an itch that I could not scratch. The discomfort lasted for a day and a half, and is now gone.

Dr. DeWan and his staff and DeWan Dental Wellness are just really fantastic. I’ve never actually felt this way about a dentist, but I really love this place. We no longer live in Milwaukee but while we were there we were clients of Dr. DeWan. The service and care is always professional and caring. It is obvious that Dr. DeWan and his staff love their work and their patients. It is also very apparent that Dr. DeWan is simply a kind, compassionate person who truly cares about people. His gentle nature and encouragement toward my young son was exactly what he needed to feel comfortable. He always took time to talk with my husband and I during our visits to be sure all our questions were answered. They even gave us pillows to help keep us comfortable in the dental chair! I don’t know that we will ever find a dentist like him. He is one-of-a-kind, for sure. If you live in Milwaukee, Dr. DeWan should be your dentist. He is the best!

Extraordinary care, outstanding staff! I’ve been a patient for nearly 20 years and have always received the best possible care. Dr. DeWan takes the time to answer all your questions and attend to your every concern. He and his staff are friendly, professional, thorough and helpful. On a few occasions I’ve needed an urgent appointment and they are always able to get me in quickly and skillfully fix the problem. Their rates are competitive, their office is cheerful and comfortable, but most importantly they take care of you well, with little or no pain. I love how involved they are in the community too…it’s a reflection of their dedication to people-centered, not profit-centered, health and their just downright happy attitude. 🙂 I recommend DeWan Dental every chance I get. They are the best!

My husband I have been going here for several years now, and have always appreciated the sincere friendliness of all of the staff as well as the consistently thorough and honest check ups. They give you the information you need to make informed choices, and when I have asked I have gotten exact pricing on different procedures to help determine when to do certain things.  We moved 30 miles away and still return for our check ups regularly. I would and do recommend them to anyone.

I also am a person who had not seen a dentist in many years until I saw Dr. Dewan. From Dr. Dewan to the hygienists and the rest of the staff, it is a totally professional and comfortable experience. I have done a 180 degree turn and am committed to keeping my dental wellness up. If you are like me and are not a fan of dentists, I highly encourage you to give them a try. The important thing to me was there was never any recrimination for the condition of my teeth when I first visited. Their attitude was you are here now and we are only looking to the future.

I have been coming here exclusively since 2010/11 and wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. If you don’t already go to this dentist, you really should!! Most people hate going to the dentist, right? DUH!!!!!! Well, while I am still not a fan of dentist offices and procedures to begin with, this is the best dentist I’ve had the pleasure of going to. It’s a small, family owned and operated place where everyone here is extremely friendly, personal, informative, and kind. You can tell they actually care what they’re doing and who their clients are. They are extremely in-depth, and when slinging around their technical jargon, I tend to ask a lot of questions about what they are talking about even if they aren’t talking to me. They take the time to answer and explain, which is how it should be. After all, it’s my mouth they’re working on. Speaking of which, they are the only dentist office I’ve been to where the dentist and hygienists are NOT rough with my mouth. I appreciate that immensely because it seems every other individual has been. They also offer amazing perks like sunglasses while being under the examination lights and ipods & headphones if you’d like to listen to music while you’re there, scented lavender neck wraps, an eye mask, a lumbar support pillow, the works! They understand that going to the dentist can be stressful for many and they really try to make you as comfortable as possible. High five!

Colleagues recommended Dewan Dental when I moved to Milwaukee. It was a great recommendation! Lovely, professional environment with staff that does good work and has a great rapport with customers. Similar to at least one other reviewer, I wish that they could be a bit more accommodating in their schedule, but I suppose that comes with the territory in a practice with one dentist. Would definitely recommend!

Thanks to Dr. Mike and the staff for making me feel that I am more than just another patient.  When I was looking for a dentist on the eastside I read the yelp reviews.  Let me add mine to the positive list.  I have found that I actually look forward to visiting and catching up with the team during my regular cleanings!  I have never felt that way about the going to the dentist’s office before.  If you are in need of dental care this is a practice you should strongly consider.
