These guys changed my life. I cannot express that with enough emphasis. They literally changed my life. You know that thing about you that you can’t really shake the feeling of hating? Hopefully most of you don’t have it but I suspect a lot of people do… You know, you’re like, god, I’m so awesome except for this one little thing. I hated my teeth for years. Like, hated. Hated smiling. Hated pictures. Hated hated hated. They weren’t even that horrible but I’m such a teeth snob about women I was sure there was no way anyone could find me attractive with my two stragglers. And then in my LATE teens my parents agreed to pay for braces. Greatest blessing of my life. So we went to three or four consultations and the orthodontists performed various tests and we received quotes that ranged from 5-10k. Most of them said I would need surgery to fix my alignment issues. Most importantly we just didn’t click with any of the docs. So we got a referral to Drs. DiGiovanni and Cook and the stars, in fact, aligned. They were the least expensive and offered the most logically sound solution. No crazy jaw realignment surgeries. No craziness at all. I seriously could not recommend them more. Everyone in their office is super friendly. They walk you through the process. Answer all your questions. I’m not sure if they still do it (I’m assuming they do) but they used to work out a payment plan. Seriously top notch in every way. The joy that I experienced after my braces came off was almost inspiring enough to make me want to become an orthodontist. It brought me more joy than any other event or series of events that have ever occurred in my life. When all was said and done, I felt like a new human. They told me later that they took my original impressions to their industry night where they talk about tough cases. Their colleagues all agreed I needed surgery. And then they busted out my final impressions gansta style and blew away their colleagues with the course of treatment. These guys are brilliant. If you don’t like your teeth, you will after they get done with you.

I am simply in awe! Talk about a well organized practice that makes you feel welcome from the minute you make the initial call. I took my son to an ortho a few years ago and lets just say that the results were less than acceptable. He mentioned that most of his friends at school are a patient of this practice and we should make an appt with Dr. DiGiovanni. I am VERY glad that we did! There was no pressure and in fact Dr. DiGiovanni recommended that we do minimum work to fix our concerns. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who needs an orthodontist. I went into Dr. Digi office not because I needed braces, because I did not like how my lower teeth grew in as a child. Let’s just say they were straight to most people, but not too me. The staff did not see any need for me having braces, but since I was not satisfied, the staff and Dr. Digi did whatever it took to make me happy with my lower teeth. Kids must love going to Dr. Digi office for the game room, playing on the iPads and all the the prizes that can be won. If you are looking for an Orthodontics office that takes good care of you and/or your kid(s) no matter what your Orthodontics needs are, Dr. Digi and Staff is the 1st place one should visit.

I LOVE DR. DI GIOVANNI, HIS STAFF AND THIS OFFICE!!! I have always dreaded going to any dentist, but Dr. Di Giovanni changed all that. As an adult I needed braces due to a bite problem and it was overwhelming for me. However, Dr. Di Giovanni, who seemed to just sense my apprehension, spent so much time with me to explain all my options. He and his staff are so warm and genuinely caring. It is so comfortable and the personal attention you receive is so rare. Additionally, the office is absolutely gorgeous and spotless (I’m a total clean-freak!). Now I have beautiful straight teeth, a perfect bite and just can’t say enough about how impressed I am with Dr. Di Giovanni and this office! When my children are old enough this is the only orthodontist I will even consider. The best! Just the absolute best.

Dr Digiovanni and Dr Cook were referred to me by a friend. I have had appointments at both the Newport Beach and Laguna Beach offices and wow are they beautiful! They are definitely geared toward kids with fun video games and free gifts as incentives for good hygiene. As an adult patient, I appreciated the multiple magazines and delicious beverage bar. They even have a separate adult section with bigger comfy chairs if you wanted some seclusion. The offices are very clean, high tech and professional, I appreciated that the staff acknowledged me when I would come in for appointments and would say “hi”. I also really appreciated that they would make sure I wouldn’t wait too long, and on a rare occasion, if I did have to wait, they would accommodate me immediately. Even though I never mind waiting a few minutes it always made me feel like they thought that my time was important too. The offices are always busy but I have to say that the staff always seems really happy to be there, like they truly enjoy their jobs and they are all very chatty and fun. Everyone I encountered was perky and smiling, the staff and doctors were very thorough and knowledgeable and nice! Most importantly above all is that my teeth are absolutely perfect now, not just better, but perfect! I am very happy, it has changed the whole look of my face. I don’t normally take time to write reviews but this worth it. I would highly recommend them.

Orthodontia is a significant investment of time and money, so I recommend that you research and compare alternatives. All treatments were completed in the forecast time, with smiles all around. In my case I was hesitant to deal with the inconvenience of adult orthodontia, but I’m very pleased with the results.

I had an amazing experience with DiGiovanni and Cook Orthodontics!!! I am still currently in my braces so you can send me a message about any questions you might have! I am 19 years old. I never had braces when I was younger, and I was starting to feel very self conscious about my smile. First off, I have to say they are the best orthodontists ever. I shopped around before picking DiGiovanni and Cook and no one else compared to them. It was super fun, I enjoyed all of my visits! They have the best waiting room I have ever seen. The staff is soooo nice and friendly, I personally had Dr. Cook as my Ortho and she was great, I noticed results in my teeth ( I had a bad gap and when I closed my mouth it looked like my mouth was still open 😛 ) Within the first few weeks my bite dramatically changed and its still changing! My teeth are almost perfect now and i have a short time to go, but i was surprised at how fast and easy my treatment has been. They work with your school and work schedule, im working and in college currently so this was a definite plus for me. They have the most advanced technology currently available, and are constantly researching new ideas and going to conferences to have the best orthodontic technology/services available. I must also say that they do a different variety of options to choose from, invisalign, “Invisible” ceramic braces, traditional metal braces, etc. and all of the services are reasonably priced plus they fix your braces for FREE at anytime if you break a bracket or rubber band, no questions asked!! …that was the best part for me because I love hard candy, chewing/crunching ice cubes, and sticky foods so I was getting mine fixed often haha. Another thing they do is a point/reward systems which is pretty cool, they let you earn points for different things (they give you a huge list) and you can cash in your points for awesome prizes (Disneyland Passes, Nordtroms gift cards, iPod touches, and almost anything else you can think of..the list is gigantic!) Over all, I HIGHLY recommend DiGiovanni and Cook Orthodontics, they really are the best in their profession.

Dr Digiovanni’s office is probably the most hi-tech interactive office in the area. It is also very professional, respectful and fun for kids and adults. As adults if we need braces we usually put it off. I was no different, I put off braces for so many years and finally decided to do them. My treatment was unbelievably fast and painless. Anytime I had a question or concern, it was as if he already knew what I was going to ask. I don’t have kids old enough for ortho treatment, but this has to be the best place for kids to get treatment. TVs galore, video game room, and contest. Not to mention PSP’s right on the treatment chairs and TVs in the ceiling while your getting treatment. – office staff is very professional and friendly. Most doctors office personnel are just the opposite. – never any scheduling or billing issues. This is a huge one! How many Times do you go to the Dr. Office and your appt is at x-time and you sit there and wait n wait… That doesn’t happen here.

I need to mention Wendy in that my daughter is very fearful and she always jokes and laughs with her and she even bought her a toy. But all of the staff is notable–well trained, friendly and gentle. I appreciate Dr. Di Giovanni spending time each visit to talk to us about our treatment. I admire his style in that he is very interactive and friendly and very professional. This review was a long time coming. If you are looking up Dr DG, chances are that you or your child need braces. I met Dr DG as a 38 year old with a crossbite/ underbite. Prior to this, I had consults with at least 2 other Newport orthos (one of them was actually my child’s ortho), and all of them had the same general recommendation: to have jaw surgery which involved breaking my jaw to align it properly, and then get in braces for about 2+ years. I did NOT want to do this, at age 38. What I wanted was camouflage dentistry with sustainable results. (I discovered that this was an option because I became friendly with another dentist. Up until then, I didn’t even realize it was an option or I would have done it sooner.) I met with Dr DG and he was the ONLY ortho that got it. We did Xrays, went thru treatment and surgery options (yes, I fully understood and signed off on the risks and just to be sure, met with 2 independent oral surgeons – one that he recommended and another reputable one). I did a ton of research on the web, even watched a jaw surgery on Youtube (super gross, don’t do it)! I will not describe my specific treatment plan (you should understand your own, though)- but let me put it this way. About 18-20 months of clear braces and other stuff later, my teeth look awesome. They really do. I am so happy with the results, I get compliments all the time, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Don’t get me wrong. I did not love being IN braces. But, I love my teeth now. And working with Dr DG made what would have been a not-fun experience, productively fun. Dr DG and his staff were a dream to work with. They were accommodating, caring, gentle when needed, quick with offering the Advil (ha!), fast when I needed to get somewhere else, flexible about fitting me in (even after hours) when “something just isn’t right” and always explained to me what was going on with my teeth and (the inevitable question at about 18 months)- HOW MUCH LONGER AND WHY. Always. Another always- I always saw Dr. DG at every appointment, so he had full mastery of what he wanted to do with this complicated case. He stayed as long as he needed to- could be 5 minutes (“OK, we’re on course here, carry on”) or he could be 25 minutes. I did not feel rushed. If cost is an issue, Dr DG;s quote for my treatment (the braces part) was exactly the same as everybody else’s. Or less, actually (since it ended up not involving the jaw surgery). Incidentally, I did not interview Dr DG for my children’s ortho care because someone told me that he was expensive. That’s just not true. I wish I knew then what I know now. Hope this helps!

I absolutely love this orthodontist! I just got my braces off yesterday, and at the moment I’m watching my little brother get his on. The staff are all so friendly and nice, and I love how they explain to you what they’re doing as they go along, it’s very reassuring. For example, “this is a tool that takes the glue off, it will feel a bit windy and cold, if you feel uncomfortable at any time raise your right hand.” When i got my braces off yesterday, they handed me a bouquet of flowers and a big bar of chocolate and had me ring a bell while everyone clapped. The atmosphere of the office is beautiful and enjoyable. I really felt like I was in good hands the entire time. Overall, I would recommend this orthodontist to anybody in OC that needs orthodontic care.

Great office atmosphere! Wonderful staff that run on time! Dr. DiGiovanni almost always would check on my daughter at every visit even if changing rubber bands. So kid friendly with all the in office and out of office contests as well as sound proof game room and Ipads while you wait. Two of my kids just got their braces off in the last month and I am finally on here writing a review. Dr. Digiovanni and his staff have been beyond amazing from start to finish in every aspect of my kids’ orthodontic care. While the end results are fabulous, the most unusual thing about this office is the happiness of all the staff. It just has a good feeling when you walk in the door and my kids never minded once going for a visit. They are so efficient, so professional, so extremely patient with our insurance companies (more patient than myself actually), so caring, so proficient and knowledgeable, and again, just seem happy to be there which really affects the whole experience. My experience with Dr. DG and the staff felt really homey. I loved coming in and using the brushing station and viewing all the quirky fish and underwater ambiance that was displayed throughout the office. The staff always greeted me with warm smiles and it was nice always seeing Dr. DG while I went around greeting the staff. When it came to my braces, the staff was always helpful in letting me know the best ways to maintain and keep them clean. It was fun experiencing wearing gold braces and mixing and matching the array of colors. They made wearing rubber bands in my teeth amusing because I got the option of colored ones as well. With excellent brushing and being persistent with my rubber bands, I was able to get my braces off four months early, right on time for college ID pictures. I loved going to every visit and having everyone get as excited as me on how fast my severe open bite and cross bite was disappearing. Dr. Dg really made it clear as what was going on with my teeth and made sure every visit counted. My orthodonitc dental work was recently completed at the offices of DiGiovanni and Cook, and I must say that I was delighted with the outcome. *I’d like to say that I typically don’t review places but after my experiences in this office, I decided that Dr. DiGiovanni did so much for my family that I just wanted to express my gratitude to him and his entire staff. Without going into it to much, Dr DiGiovanni is a very caring person. My family has had some tougher times with the Obama Economy and we were in a “compromised situation” financially. The orthodontist that we were going to would not work with us at all even though my child was in braces in his practice, my older was a previous patient there and she dismissed us. Not knowing what to do, we went to several orthodontists and noone would take my son’s treatment. Until we had a consult in this office. Dr. DiGiovanni understood what we were going through, did not care about the money and finished my son’s braces. The office is clean, hi tech and cool. The staff is so fune, friendly and nice. ADULT ORTHO MADE TOLERABLE If you’ve decided to take the plunge and fix your teeth as a full grown responsible tax paying adult, this is really the only place to go. Dr. Digi probably treats 40% adults and really knows his craft. I feel very confident in his thorough 18 month treatment plan. His personality is really kind and he is very thorough explaining what you’ll be suffering through! (Braces are no joke!) I can’t wait for my result. Raquel is GREAT on the intake, she breaks it all down and is the kind of girl you’d like to go to have a cocktail with, bright eyed and funny! Joanne up front is super nice, will take great care of you and make sure you are stocked with plenty of wax. Kim, my RDA is an expert! She is practically an ortho herself! Alba, his office coordinator is sweet and on her “A” game always. Honestly, if you’re ready for the financial, emotional and physical commitment of braces or Invisalign, this is the crew you want on your team. Imagine if you had a really functional family, and after all the visits, you’ll almost see them more than family…than you want Digiovanni Ortho!

Dr. DiGi and his staff have treated all three of my children as well as myself. The experience has been top notch in every way. Their professionalism and customer friendliness is unmatched. I always felt welcome and well taken care of in every way. The set up of the office with tv screens on the ceiling at each station, games in the waiting room, and a coffee bar made going to the orthodontist a fairly nice experience. When I had to change or cancel appointments, the front desk was always so accomodating and friendly. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. DiGiovanni graduated from USC School of Dentistry and has been a certified Orthodontic Specialist with offices in Newport Beach and Laguna Beach since 1993. Dr. DiGiovanni has the distinction of being a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists since 1997.
