If you are looking for a dentist I would strongly recommend Downtown Dental. I have been using them for the last two years and they recently brought on a new dentist. They are taking their response to the Covid-19 pandemic very seriously without being overbearing. The staff and the doctor take the time to answer questions or concerns you have about the service you are receiving respectfully (I raised concerns about dental X-rays and the doctor walked me through why they were needed and what safety measures were used). The dentist also seems to be up to speed on the newest techniques in dentistry and most importantly to me there is no attempt to sell you on unnecessary services or orthodontics. I will continue using. Just be prepared for Downtown traffic or road closures if you are coming from out of the area which are unavoidable right now. They do offer free parking validation if you want to easily park in the garage.

I’m sure like most I’m not the biggest fan of the dentist. And I’ve seen a lot, some once was enough. But not here at Downtown Phoenix Dental. I’ve even surprised myself that I haven’t kept postponing appointments! The girls up front are so welcoming and they go over estimates and co pays with such patience. And no pressure to get any of the work done. They make you feel in charge. I had a silver filling replaced and the job was excellently done. Dr Ballard and Daniel took a picture for me and it looked awesome and natural! And when I get my teeth clean, Lori is so great! I have a bridge that is damaged, yes, they tell me it should be replaced, but they nag me about it, they just work around it. They let me decided what is best. That is what I love about this place. It’s calm, no pressure and very friendly.

My experience at Downtown PHX Dental has been the best ever for any of the many dental clinics I’ve experienced in my 35 years living in the area. Not only are the technicians and dentist wonderful and professional, they are honest and do not charge exorbitantly for services. I also love the layout of the office, and best of all, the art collection!

I’ve been a patient for 5+ years after visiting 4-5 other dentists in Phoenix prior to Downtown Dental. This office is, by far, the best in Phoenix! The support staff is amazing, they were understanding during my reschedules due to covid concerns, they automate and remind you when you have appointments and they are unusually gentle with cleaning while very thorough. I was overdue for my last visit, I had a lot of staining and I couldn’t believe they got them back to 100% clean! Also, they are very transparent on pricing while being professional and friendly. My wife, sister-in-law and mother-in-law are now all patients here and I highly recommend anyone interested in visiting here to give them a shot. I’d bet you will become a long term customer like myself as I cannot think of anything they need to do to improve in their entire operation.

I am very pleased with the bonding done on my front teeth. Dr. Andrew Ballard, DDS and his assistant Frances were very professional and knowledgeable about cosmetic dentistry. Furthermore they did an expertise job on my teeth. The whole staff at Downtown Phoenix Dental is awesome. I have been going there for years and while I always liked Dr. Berscheler, Dr.Ballard is definitely capable. The dental hygienists, Audra and Laurie are so caring and careful. Excellent place. I will continue to go here for my dental work.

I loved the fact I was able to fill out all the forms online and just had to show up at the time of my appointment. Was brought back on time.  The hygienist was very good at explaining everything and offered helpful suggestions. I explained I was having some pain and it was looked at by both the hygienist and dentist. No major issues found(other dentist use this as an excuse for unnecessary procedures). They are conservative which I like. I also was in need of a mouth piece for teeth grinding and was able to get scanned for that on the first visit and the price was very reasonable. The only improvement I would suggest is to tidy up a bit. Glove boxes randomly on the floor and lint on the equipment.

This is my first post on Yelp. Haven’t been to the dentists in years and they were all very nice here at downtown phoenix dental. My dental hygienist Megan was super sweet and explained everything I needed to know. I feel confident in their advice and don’t feel like I need to question whether I am being taken advantage or not. They’re a great dental office

I’ll say upfront, that the dentist is my least favorite place on earth. I haven’t had a positive experience in 30+ years of going. Until my recent appointment at Downtown Phoenix Dental. Dr Ballard and crew were actually wonderful to deal with. They were accommodating to my needle sensitivity, took my personal input on my history with anesthesia, explained everything they were doing in great detail, and were gentle and skilled in their activities. Combining that, with the technology they utilize, and the thoroughness of their Covid-19 precautions, it led to the best experience I’ve ever had on a dental procedure. Highly professional and highly recommended!

Love all the staff. Dr. Drew Ballard was great and made sure I was comfortable through the whole procedure. Audra and Frances, Erin and Danny are amazing. They are all so friendly and make sure you understand the procedures. The front office is great they keep communication with upcoming appointments and do an awesome job with billing. If you work downtown its convenient but I will keep making the drive in town to get the care I receive here.

I usually get my teeth cleaned when I visit my parents in SoCal but in an attempt acclimate to Phoenix, I went to a new dental office for a teeth cleaning. Was nervous since I’m so used to my own dentist but Lori did a great job. She was super thorough and now I don’t want anyone else to clean my teeth! It was probably the best cleaning I’ve ever had (and I’ve had plenty). Thank you so much! Just wish their hours were extended so that my husband could come here too.

Best dental office ever. Up to date on social media usage, technologies to communicate with patients, and equipment and treatment modalities. Excellent customer service. Beautiful artwork and design in the physical space. Located walking distance from all downtown locations and only 2 blocks from light rail stop.

Dr Ballard is new to this practice and there is a major change in the office. His staff seem happier than ever, new modern technology for crowns and a caring demeanor that is invaluable. He cares about his patients and takes the times to let you know what’s happening the entire way through. I couldn’t be more impressed with Dr Ballard and recommend him highly.

I developed cavities and I had put it off a few years but I was introduced to Lori at a social gathering and she talked me into giving this practice a try. They were all amazing. I swear they even put on calming music when I checked in. The entire staff knew how anxious and nervous I was. Everyone was checking up on me to ensure I was calm. The Hygienist was explaining everything to me. When I had my fillings done the moment I showed I was slightly uncomfortable they stopped and were able to administer another injection to numb me up. I will be happily returning for my 6 month check up on a routinely basis! Love, Love, Love these guys!

I have been going to Dr. B for several years. I don’t have dental insurance and he has always taken care of me and my husband with fairness and honesty. I love Dr B and his staff and highly recommend DTPHXD!

The whole staff is friendly and professional. They remembered my name And listened. Francis was amazing. She explained everything she was doing and answered all my questions. Dr Ballard put a crown on me and it was painless and quick. Very good bedside manners. Happy to be going there

Aboustly AMAZING! Staff is so friendly and efficient! Love getting my teeth clean here. First time doing a filling at this location and Dr was gentle and explained every step even took pics to show me. After they put a warm towel with lemon and lavender over my mouth to relax me. After so many places I have been over decades trying to find a good dentist that was honest and didn’t over charge..I found my permanent dentist! Last week was my 4th cleaning and today was my first filling. I couldn’t be happier and DEFINITELY recommend this place!

What a great dentist! Not only is the location great (free valet parking..and it shares the building with a wine shop!), the experience itself is great! The hygienist really took the time to explain everything to me, and she did a great job at polishing my teeth. This is the first dentist I’ve tried since moving to Phoenix, and I think I can stop looking!

Dr. Ballard and his staff are great! Efficient, professional, friendly and painless. And they all do a great job of explaining everything (what they’re doing, what needs to be done, what your options are). And currently during the COVID pandemic, they do a nice job of distancing, disinfecting and following all of the other important COVID precautionary measures. Also the office is very conveniently located for anyone close to downtown and has convenient parking. Highly recommended!

I visited Downtown Phoenix Dental yesterday for the first time and they were wonderful. Located down town, they were only a few minutes from my work and provided convenient and free valet parking. They offer electronic new patient forms that you can fill out and submit prior to your visit so when you arrive, you don’t have to wait and can be seen immediately. The staff was so nice and welcoming, everyone including the dentist came out to greet me and introduce them selves. I was fearing the worst with my cleaning as I admit it had been a while sense my last, but the dental hygienist was so patient and understanding. Now that I have found them, I will definitely stay on top of my cleaning and check ups as it is not an experience that I dread anymore. I will definitely be recommending them to my fellow co-workers and friends.

I could tell she was quite skilled at her job because there was little to no pain or discomfort, even with the x-rays (when the plastic usually tries to slice your cheeks open). She also made sure to answer all of my questions throughout the visit friendly and patiently. My personal favorite part was that they didn’t try to push anything on me…fluoride, invisalign, etc. That’s something that happened at EVERY visit at my old office and I appreciate that at this practice, they inform, not persuade/force you to do anything. I definitely recommend this dental office to others.

I am a new patient from today and literally I’m making a list in my head of all the people I want to refer. Great location, friendly and very competent staff. One of the most pleasant and beautiful dentist offices I’ve ever seen. I no longer will dread going to the dentist office!! Also, important to mention, my last dentist appointment was 3 years ago. I didn’t want to reschedule, not even a cleaning, simply because they recommended I do about $10,000 worth of work on my teeth. DTPHXdental did not even try to up-sell me on extra dental work and simply said to call them if I have any issues with my teeth. I value the integrity and service that DTPHXdental provided to me today

This is seriously the best dentist I’ve had in my entire life. Fillings, cleanings, check ups, everything is so efficient, high quality, and honestly PAINLESS. I legitimately do not stress and look forward to coming to the dentist now. No one ever “likes going to the dentist”; but the level of care, friendliness, and high level of professionalism here has constantly reassured my trust and comfort. Also it’s not just how good of the work that is done technically, but also cosmetically! Since going for over 2 years now; I’ve received fillings, a crown, and a small cosmetic addition to a front tooth that would have you struggling to determine which parts are original vs dental work. Perfect integration. Truly the best! Also don’t worry about “parking in downtown”, they validate when you park in the garage below them!

The hygienists Lori and Audra do a really great job building a relationship of trust. They are both kind, knowledgeably and skilled in their craft. Dr. Ballard has excellent bedside manner. One of his super powers is that he is able to give undetected injections. I’m always surprised when he tells me he has already given me the shot. That is pretty amazing! I really like talking with Shi at the front desk. She does a great job describing my treatment and payment options. Honestly, this whole office is excellent and I would highly recommend them to my friends and family.

I like to let results speak for themselves. About two years ago I had a tooth that was literal half gone. Tooth had eroded to the point where I could feel it give when I pushed down on it and I had been without dental insurance for nearly 7 years. When I went to the doctor I was certain they’d have to pull it but the female receptionist was optimistic for me. Well, about 4 months later I can safely say I have a very natural looking cap that didn’t make me want to travel to Mexico for a good price. Everything is comfortable, you listen to your choice of music via Pandora and everyone seems very friendly in a very clean office. Sometimes I feel guilty that I’m going to some sort of “Luxury Dentist” that works downtown, but then I think: “After being without a good dentist for so long, I think I deserve this.”

From the first day I visited this dental office I have been impressed. They are very professional, and have just the right amount of humor to set clients at ease during their visit. I have learned a lot about my dental care, treatment and plan of care because of their in depth communication with me about my dental hygiene. I love this dental practice. It is right downtown, but there is almost always parking right in front (at the meters) and apparently there is valet in the garage, though I have never had to use it. I’ve been going here for 3+ years and love Lori, the dental assistant who cleans my teeth. It’s an open, modern concept and I’ve never been there for more than an hour…just teeth cleanings, no problems (fingers crossed). I appreciate that appointments can be scheduled via email or text and that their paperwork can be totally online.

When I moved to Phoenix two years ago, I hated the idea of having to find a new dentist. However, I saw Downtown Phoenix dental online… and I really liked the vibe from the photos. So I went last year for the first time and everyone from the front desk staff, to the tech, and the Dentist were all wonderful to deal with! Come this year, I heard about a new Dentist coming in and buying the practice … and I was hoping not much would change! Thankfully, it is still the same practice I fell in love with… and the new Dentist/owner is delightful! Really comfortable to talk to and work with. Definitely makes his patients feel at ease. Keep being the amazing dental practice that you are!!

As someone with anxiety and ADHD, this is my absolute favorite dentist office I’ve ever been to. Not only is it conveniently located for me, the inside is covered in art and very comfortable. The staff here is so personable and they remember you every time no matter how long it’s been in between visits. From the front desk staff, to the hygienists, to the doctors, they are all very friendly and make you feel comfortable! As someone with ADHD who struggles with remembering to schedule dentist appointments, this place is awesome! They send me reminder emails often and there’s no judgement if I schedule an appointment later than 6 months. Now, let me brag about Lori, possibly the worlds best dental hygienist! I first saw her well over 8 months ago and returned today for a cleaning. She remembered that I was a teacher and expressed genuine interest in how I’m doing! She remembered that last time I had been chewing the insides of my cheeks and expressed so much joy when she saw that I had stopped that bad habit. You truly feel so special and taken care of when you’re with Lori! She remembers small details about you and that really makes going to the dentist so much better. The whole time she was cleaning my teeth she would explain what she was doing and why, which was so helpful for my anxiety. She also asked how I was doing frequently and let me take breaks if I needed it. I saw a different dentist this time, I don’t remember his name, but he was quick and professional! Long story short, Lori deserves a raise, because out of everyone there she took so much of an interest in me and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. If you go here, which you should, make sure you get Lori as your hygienist!

I have been going to Downtown Phoenix Dental for a few years for cleanings and have always been satisfied.  Today was the first time I was treated  for a crown at this practice.  I have had crown procedures before and I have to say this was the best experience of my life with a this type of dental procedure.  Dr. Ballard and his team had my comfort as their top priority throughout the treatment.  There was NO pain at all and Dr. Ballard kept me informed on his progress.  Danny was top notch in ensuring the temporary fit well.  And as a final treat, no long term numbness afterwards.  I’m am impressed with the emphasis on patient safety, comfort and everyone’s professionalism.  Great work by a great team.  Thanks!

While sitting waiting in the waiting area, the Dentist came out and introduced himself as I was a new patient. I appreciated that. Next I was seen by the Dental Hygienist who was very thorough in her inspection of my mouth, before taking X-rays. The x-rays are digital and immediately appear on the computer screen in front of you. Laurie then took the time to explain each quadrant of my mouth and show me where the trouble area may be. She cleaned my teeth with a sonic scaler which was far more comfortable then having my entire mouth done manually. When the cleaning was over, she gave me some home care tips and then the Dentist came over to have a look. I was happy with my first visit and would suggest to others that they give this Dentist a try if they are looking for a new Dentist.

I’ve always received nothing but great care! And when some questions regarding billing and my insurance came up, it was taken care of immediately. I am a super anxious dental patient, avoided going for years, but since going here I have been faithful to the every six months cleaning routine because of the calming atmosphere in the office. When my crown from another dentist broke, they took care of it right away. Final highlight is they aren’t jerks if you have to cancel/reschedule 30 minutes before your appointment due to illness. Highly recommend these guys!

As an anxious dentist patient and a chronic dental cleaning avoider, Ive got to say I really love the atmosphere of this practice! The staff is really friendly, the appointments don’t take long and I feel like I’m getting a very honest/conservative opinion on what my mouth needs are. I’m in, I’m out, and I’m not getting charged an arm! Bonus points for the mouthwash I got first thing- I always worry about bad breath going in. Have you ever gone to the dentist and they recommend 37 cavity fills, a retainer, quarterly cleanings and apparently you’re a teeth grinder? Yea, me too! To have the dentist say things like “this doesn’t seem to be a problem” and “let’s watch this” was really refreshing!
