Dr McCoy is great! My son loves going to him. I love that fact that is up on technology and uses it fully. With a name like Dr McCoy I expect a doctor that embraces the future and boldly goes where no man has gone before. 🙂 The fact that he can solve all cases with Invisalign is awesome. I also loved the school he went to for dentistry. I was a patient at Northwestern Dental School and wish I knew him back them. He new the doctors that oversaw the students that handled my case. I have recommended him to a few people/family members that was looking for an great orthodontist.

Disclosure: This is my second review. I am new to Yelp. Here is goes: My daughter has been going to Dr. McCoy since the fall of 2012. Due to a medical emergency in May of 2014, her braces had to be cut off in order to do brain MRI’s – which were normal – thank God. Her braces were within 6 months of coming off. Her teeth looked great. The good news was that there were no permanent health problems. My daughter was okay. The bad news was that braces were only covered once by my insurance. I fought with the insurance company for 8 months or so to get the braces re-applied due to the medical emergency, which they denied over and over again. The doctors at the hospital hacked them off in the middle of the night because there was no time to debate. I was not consulted. That’s where Lydia came in. She was always nice to us and always professional, as was the entire staff, but after my daughter’s health scare, Lydia became an advocate for me and my daughter in an effort to have her treatment started again. After 8 pain-staking months, dozens of phone calls and detailed review of medical records, the insurance company finally approved additional treatment and my daughter started Invisalign because she could not have metal in her mouth due to future brain scans. Dr. McCoy went above and beyond by meeting with me and offering the Invisalign option at a modest additional cost and I am truly appreciative to him for that. I have continued to get to know Lydia over the past year or so now and enjoy our sincere conversations. She is always pleasant and compassionate and always wants to know how my family is doing. Turns out, our families have a lot in common, and I’m not even Polish 🙂 In reading the negative reviews below, I have a hard time believing what was said. They indicated that Yelp is for complaints, which is fine, but it must also be about the good experiences too, which most often times don’t get written or are overlooked. We need to find the good in things again and let people know that they are appreciated. In this case, Dr. McCoy, Lydia and their entire team are great. I want to say thank you again for all that you have done and continue to do for me and my daughter. I have two more kids that may need braces in the future and, if they do, I will look to the Real McCoy for their wonderful care and service.

We were recommended by a friend. The office staff is very efficient. They always return a call and follow up quickly. I was impressed with the treatment plan as it was very detailed and the staff spend quality time to make sure I was well informed with my decision. Most importantly, I feel confident with the experience Dr McCoy has in his field. Also, I was impressed that they are digitally savvy. In addition, my daughter loves that she checks herself in on the screen and that there are incentives for her to earn rewards when she meets the goals ortho expects.

Years after wearing braces as a teen, my teeth shifted significantly and were getting worse. I consulted four Invisalign providers before choosing Dr. McCoy. While he was NOT the cheapest, his pricing was competitive and transparent. These days, even general dentists offer Invisalign, but Dr. McCoy is an ORTHODONTIST, which means he received formal training on the movement of teeth. Very important since that’s the whole point of braces/Invisalign. Upon further research, I learned that Dr. McCoy went to a top dental school (Northwestern), was one of the first to offer Invisalign when the technology came out, and is a top provider of Invisalign treatments nationally. Besides knowledge, expertise, and experience, it’s obvious from talking to Dr. McCoy that he really enjoys his line of work! The actual Invisalign treatment was WAY more pleasant than traditional braces were. Took about two days to get used to wearing the aligners. No metal wires, brackets, or rubber bands. Personally, I never experienced any aches, pains, or cuts. Cleaning the plastic aligners was easier than cleaning hard-to-reach areas of the mouth. Aligners were barely noticeable when worn, but they do have a bit of reflection- wasn’t an issue for me though. It was awesome to be able to take aligners off to enjoy a meal or to take some quick photos. But for best results, the instructions say to keep aligners on as much as possible, especially overnight! I was given about 12 aligners at the time, each lasting one week, therefore I had in-office appointments once every three months. Pretty reasonable. Can’t imagine having NO supervision for an orthodontic treatment like those “do it yourself at home” kits that try to mimic Invisalign. I visited the office on Montrose Ave in Chicago. Decent area. Usually plenty of street parking right outside the office. Appointments were punctual and I never felt rushed, but they were pretty quick (~20 minutes). Staff was always professional, friendly, and accommodative. Was impressed with the COVID-19 precautions taken by the office. Hopefully I’ll never need to visit Dr. McCoy for braces again, but I would highly recommend others to consider him!

I took all three of my children to Dr. McCoy because I have been happy each and every time. Dr. McCoy and his office are very professional and informative. I have been to other orthodontist’s offices and they didn’t take the time to explain what was going on in my children’s mouth like Dr. McCoy did. I have sent four or five of my friends to Dr. McCoy’s office and they have all been happy, too. Dr. McCoy’s staff spent the time explaining the charges and what I should expect to receive from my insurance company before we started any treatment, which really helped me with my budget. They gave me a nice payment plan and their billing never made any mistakes for all three of my children. My friends feel the same way, too. I’ve never heard a complaint about their bills. Plus, the staff speaks Polish and Spanish, which has helped two of my friends better understand their treatment and insurance. My children were always seen on time and after school unless we were putting the braces on, which really helped with my schedule since both my husband and I work and the kids are busy, too. Now that I’m done with my kid’s teeth, I’m going to have Dr. McCoy fix my teeth since he works on adults, too.

Please take the time to read this review. Dr. McCoy and his team offer a healthcare experience that I have never seen in 20+ years of providing and receiving healthcare. Above and beyond does not come close to describing the quality of care that this office provides. Dr. McCoy is providing Invisalign treatment for my 11 yr old daughter. In the midst of this pandemic, Dr. McCoy and his team immediately made alternate plans as to continue the high quality of care despite the state wide shelter at home order. My daughter was able to initiate and continue her Invisalign treatment without any delay. Though the office is very busy, Dr. McCoy is a master at time management and spends time with each and every patient. My family has never felt rushed through appointments. All our questions and concerns are always quickly addressed. I completely trust Dr. McCoy and his team. I will have no problems bringing my son to him for orthodontics in the future. Dr. Kevin McCoy is a wonderful and highly gifted doctor.

From the moment we checked in the front desk and were taken back everybody was so friendly and nice. They always make you feel welcome.
