I’ve been a patient with this practice for over a year and love the service I’ve gotten. I was referred to Dr. Styrt after being told by 3 other dentists that I was not a viable candidate for Invisalign and would need traditional braces + surgery. Dr. Styrt however, is a magician and due to his extensive experience, he was able to take me on as a patient. When I started my treatment, although all of my teeth and gums were healthy, only two of my molars actually touched. This led to long meal times, as I could only properly chew on one side of my mouth. I’m proud to say that I have about 4 months left in my Invisalign treatment, and I can properly eat on both sides of my mouth. This has substantially bettered my quality of life and I thank this office and its amazing staff for it. I would highly recommend this office for your teeth straightening needs! On a Five Star ranking, I would give Dr. Paul Styrt a Six Star if I could. Dr Paul Styrt and his team are Excellent., the best by far, from interviewing with other orthodontists. Starting with my daughter, years ago, I interviewed a few doctors to fix the overbite and two high up “fang” teeth. The orthodontists said they cannot completely fix everything. When Dr. Styrt said yes, he could, I asked for evidence, and sure enough I saw pictures of before and after. (no teeth taken out for her correction). Now before and after pictures can be seen on his website. Dr. Styrt fixed completely and beautifully everything for my daughter, and included some free stuff. Now, I needed to fix my overbite and some crooked teeth, because of grinding wearing them down. I talked to some orthodontists from reputable places, and said that I am too old, and cannot completely fix my overbite. Sure enough Dr. Styrt could. All the people in the office are warm, and taking the time to give a wonderful personalized experience, from the intake on. The place is very nice, calm, and inviting. There are always some fun games with prizes, for everyone. All of this, makes for an awesome experience going to the orthodontics. Sr Styrt also have reserved parking, in the busy structure, so you do not have to look for parking.

Dr. Styrt and his whole team are excellent! He’ll even give you those gentle reminders when you’re off track. After having gone through invisalign and traditional metal braces with him in the early 2000s, I was so pleased with the results and the excellent care, I returned (as a second timer) for another round of invisalign due to a relapse… REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR RETAINERS! I visited Dr. Styrt for a consultation. His office staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. The work stations were clean and well organized. The office is beautifully decorated and every window has fantastic planter boxes. For my consultation, Dr. Styrt staff took photos and a full mouth x-ray in order to give me a thorough analysis of my teeth. Best orthodontist I’ve ever had. I had an orthodontist before Dr. Styrt to correct my teeth, but that orthodontist did not correct for my growing underbite so I was left with straight teeth… But an ugly underbite. Sadly, that orthodontist told me I would have to pay for another treatment if i wanted to correct it. Because of this, I left my with the underbite for years and years until I finally decided to do something about it just last year. In comes Dr. Styrt. He knew exactly what the plan would be as soon as he saw my teeth. He definitely knew his craft WELL and he definitely was a man with a plan. I really loved that the plan he offered was so transparent and comprehensive. I would pay the fee for my treatment in either installments or all at once–no more, no less. He even assured me if the treatment does not go as planned and additional orthodontic work was needed, my smile would come first and he would NOT charge additional fees for anything. Definitely a step up from my last orthodontist. What’s crazy is that his pricing is miles better than other orthodontists I consulted. Not only that, as a bonus gift I got professional whitening done at the end of my treatment! There was literally not even 1 flaw that made me hesitate with choosing Dr. Styrt. Dr. Styrt was also very accommodating with having my fees being paid in a certain order so that I could qualify for coverage from my insurance. This was very nice of him and really helped me pay for my treatment. Dr. Styrt gave me an Invisalign treatment upon my request and things could not have gone more smoothly. By the end of the treatment, he saw things went just as planned and had my aligners and attachments removed. I got an amazing congratulations from him and his team as well as a fancy thank you gift. It really is a cute gift so I’m not going to spoil the surprise for you so you can enjoy it as much as I did. My teeth look beautiful and I have a functioning bits now. I couldn’t be happier and I would definitely recommend Dr. Styrt to ANYONE. He and his team are so friendly and treat you like family. What a nice experience. I will be enjoying this great smile of mine for the rest of my life!

Believe it or not kids LOVE going to their appointments here– just authentically nice staff genuinely caring and detail oriented- great contests kids love a game room while waiting etc. Their office holds a special place in my heart tho king back to my kids’ growing up. Let me start off by saying that everyone in this office is super happy. Everywhere I turned there was a smiling face looking back at me. I was welcomed by Janet and Patty at the front desk and the first thing I noticed was how awesome their teeth looked. Everytime they smiled I heard *bling*. There was a 10 minute wait because they were running a bit behind but I didn’t mind because I wasn’t on a time crunch at that moment. However, once I was seen, it was nonstop. Photos and X-rays were taken. Then Patty escorted me to her office to explain part of the care plan that my dentist sent over. All of this was very basic information. Then, Dr. Styrt came in. He did an exam and dictated notes to Patty. When there was a term I didn’t understand, I asked and the question was thoroughly answered. Once the exam was over, the three of us gathered at the desk and Dr. Styrt did a classic therapy move and asked “if we were to do orthodontic treatment, what would the outcome look like for you”? After I gave my explanation, Dr. Styrt explained the different methods on how I could achieve my goals. My how braces have changed over the years. After Dr. Styrt left the office, Patty gave me some information. But what I was really waiting for was the price. The national average for braces is $6600. This office was $300 below that for my treatment plan. It’s still high but I wasn’t blown away by shock. Patty offered a payment plan and said if I needed to make any adjustments then we could work it out. Thank goodness because as a struggling grad student, I ain’t got it like that so it’s nice to know these numbers can be moved around. Overall, it was a good experience and I appreciated the time taken to answer every question thoroughly.

This office is the Nordstrom of orthodontics. Seriously. I scheduled a consultation. Every staff member is very nice on the phone and in person. I was left a voicemail with thorough directions to the office. I was given a tour upon arrival. I sat down to discuss what I was there for and was given bottled water and a notepad. I also received a hand written note in the mail after. Nice touch! Dr. Styrt came in during the consult and he obviously knows what he’s doing. He clearly specializes in Invisalign and can handle the most difficult cases. I did feel really silly with my dinosaur retainer in his luxury office but I had to ask if it would help at all. No luck. All of my questions were answered and I was given pricing along with a packet of info and my tooth photos. It is definitely on the expensive side, especially for my short time frame. Worth it for good care and expertise? Probably so.

Dr. Styrt’s treatment is well worth the money. I’ve had two other sets of braces from other orthodontists who were cheap – and I got what I paid for. I came to Dr. Styrt hoping that he would fix my teeth from the sub-par job that my previous orthodontists had done. I just got another compliment on my smile. In fact, many people have complimented me on my teeth. This comes long after many tough years of awkward, crooked smiles. I’m much more confident after my treatment, and if you’ve seen me pre-treatment, you’d understand. Seeing Dr. Styrt for Invisaligns was probably one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Ok, it wasn’t the cheapest, but with the amount of curls I had in my teeth, I’m surprised I was able to do the Invisaligns at all. My new smile is well worth the price. This man is an artist when it comes to his work. I worried a lot when he would grind my teeth down with a sanding tool to make gaps so that my huge teeth would come together right. Never doubt an artist! Though he pulled out some of the heavy hardware at times, he was always gentle and patient. My treatment started with Invisaligns but ended with traditional braces for about 6 months. His and his staff’s attention to detail in both forms of treatment is great. He does orthodontic work for both children and adults. The office is in a great location, well kept, and comforting. The staff was always friendly and helpful when I got there. But after all was said and all work was done, each compliment I get are a testament to the quality of work Dr. Styrt and his staff do.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Styrt and his staff. I had braces in high school and never wore my retainers. Ten years later, I found myself needing braces again. I did a lot of research on different orthodontists in the area and went to several consultations around San Diego. I am so glad I made the decision of going to Dr. Styrt for my second time around in braces. Dr. Styrt and his staff are always so welcoming and accommodating when it comes to scheduling appointments. If every I had questions throughout the process (trust me, I had a bunch), Dr. Styrt and his staff were always more than happy to answer them. Full disclosure I work for Dr Styrt! I enjoy being part of this family, and I look forward to going to work everyday! I chose to bring my family to Dr. Styrt’s office because I trust him and have witnessed the fabulous results! He truly is the best in all of San Diego just check the UT tribune best of 2015! My son Austin is 17 years old (who is a varsity football player), wanted to finish his case prior to the playing football at Mt Carmel High School! Being true to his time point Dr. Styrt finished Austin with an amazing smile. Austin is proud to tell every person that ask where to he went for proper treatment and the best results! He was told 18 months of treatment time and finished in 9 months! My husband Philip is 36 years old and in treatment now and a full time Marine! His time is scheduled for 24 months of treatment and he will finish in 12 months! As a child he dreamed of having a perfect smile and now he is on his way to achieve it! Military members need to finish their cases in rapid time before deployments and pcs changes! That is why Philip uses AccelDent to speed up his treatment and it soothes any discomfort from the braces and rubberbands. The teeth are looking amazing and he is nearly finished and it has been a breeze for him! I was not sure what to expect after hearing horror stories of how the expected completion date given by orthodontists was underestimated i addition to crooked teeth tales. Initially, Dr. Styrt’s outstanding credentials and referrals from patients drew me to his office. Once my husband and I met him, we were quite impressed with his desire to not only straighten our children’s teeth, but to correct their bites and jawlines as well. Dr Styrt was as focused on their beautiful smiles as he was on correcting their alignment to avoid any future problems. There’s much more to orthodontia than just straightening teeth. In the past several years, we have seen our children through expanders, braces, retainers and a number of other appliances. Throughout this experience, Dr. Styrt and his terrific staff clearly communicated with our children and with us about their progress. Another important factor to consider is his respect of his patient’s (and their parents) time. We have NEVER had to wait more than 5 minutes when we have arrived on time for our appointment. His staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating when we have had a scheduling conflict – they definitely go the extra mile. My son has been going to this office for dental care since he was one, and specifically to Dr. Styrt for orthodontics since he was 8. He is currently 10 and has been wearing Invisalign for about 3 months. I was initially reluctant for the Invisalign (having had Invisalign myself through a different dental practice) but my husband was all for it since he had just completed his own Invisalign with Dr. Styrt with fantastic results. With the warm support from Dr. Styrt and Dina, my son has been successful with the entire process, from spacers to Invisalign, including rubber bands! We have also had numerous sports mouth guards made on the spot, which was wonderful; no more boiling store bought ones for me! I have spent a good amount of time on this office. I have witnessed Dr. Styrt tending to many patients, some of whom required a little more calming down than others. Dr. Styrt displayed extraordinary patience and a wonderful manner in working with these children. He always takes the time to chat with his patients and us parents as well. I have never felt like he was rushing to get to the next patient and I am someone who has a lot of questions at times. I highly recommend this office for many reasons. Yes, they have contests, the game room and the reward system which my son loves. But they are extremely clean, conscientious and knowledgeable. I have quietly noticed and heartily appreciated for years that this office is run very efficiently and with phenomenal organization. The employees here tend to stay here a long time and that is important to me because I trust that they remember and know my son. We are greeted and welcomed here like friends and we have always been treated with care. A word about the dentists as well; both dentists he has seen here over the years have been very knowledgeable and wonderful. Sheri has been the hygienist for us for awhile now and she is wonderful; she puts my son at ease every time. At 10 years old, he has never had a cavity. My dentist referred me to Dr. Styrt and I’m so glad he did! I had a wonderful experience meeting the team and Dr. Styrt when I went to get evaluated for Invisalign. I’ve been to an orthodontist before this and it was mediocre at best; but this office is quite amazing and vibrant. Even given the COVID restrictions. On that note, everything was well sanitized and clean. They prescreen you at the door before you can come into the office. Overall, the staff and Dr. Styrt were very welcoming and knowledgeable. If you need an orthodontist, this is the office you want to go to. You won’t be disappointed because the level of service here is on point!

I haven’t done any treatments YET, but I did go in for a consultation. And my goodness! His office definitely wowed me. Probably the best looking office I have ever been to so I automatically knew I was going to get treated very well here. So a little bit about my teeth. I had braces before and they turned out alright. And I say alright because my previous orthodontist didn’t fixed my bottom crooked teeth and wouldn’t let me get fixed retainers. So fast forward a few years, I barely wear retainers and eventually my wisdom teeth grew in and pushed my bottom teeth together and caused crowding. As for my top teeth, they were still nice and straight! I finally got my wisdom teeth out, and decided to go get invisalign (because who wants braces anymore?). My two coworkers who goes here recommended Dr.styrt and I trusted them because their teeth are AMAZING!!!! I made my appointment and met one of the technician who was incredibly friendly. We did some X-ray’s and pictures. Then met up with Rebecca who is the consultant. I told her what I didn’t like about my teeth, etc, and she listened. Dr. Styrt came in to do more of a thorough examination. And while I thought my top teeth were near perfect, guess what! They weren’t! Dr. Styrt pointed out all these problems with my teeth and I felt bad! Not because of him but because my last orthodontist wasnt this detailed!! Everything dr. Styrt pointed out finally stood out to me. I didn’t notice it before but now I do. This really shows you how knowledgeable he is and how detailed he is. I immediately trusted him to make my teeth PERFECT! after he examined me, Rebecca went over the pricing. It definitely shocked me because I was expecting it to be on the low end since I thought my teeth weren’t that bad. So I went home and thought about it. I made another appointment with another recommended doctor, but the treatment wasn’t the same!! This doctor wasn’t as detailed as Dr Styrt. I got the pricing from that office and it turned out that their pricing was even more expensive! But they did have a promotion where they gave me a discount. Everything came out to be less than dr Styrt but not by much. So I thought to myself I might as well pay a few hundred more to get the luxury treatment by Dr. Styrt. So I made an appointment with them this Monday to scan my teeth and FINALLY start my treatment! Oh I forgot to mention that the other doctor said my teeth would be done around 8-10 months while dr. Styrt said 5-8 months. BOOOOOYAHHHH. So yes, I am taking my business here. Can’t wait! I’m so excited

I lost several front teeth in an accident, and needed teeth moved as part of the reconstruction. I believe I present a tricky case, and, additionally, timing and speed were important in my case, since the bone graft (jaw reconstruction) could only happen after certain movement had taken place. The first orthodontist I got a quote from expected 12-24 months total, with it ready for the bone graft between 9 and 18 months. My oral surgeon recommended Dr. Styrt as a fantastic orthodontist who employs new technologies to make movement happen more quickly than standard braces or Invisalign alone. In my case, he used Acceledent Aura, and got the positioning surgery-ready in about 5 months. Dr. Styrt, his technicians and staff have been competent, friendly, and I’ve felt like I’m in very good hands at all times. He is probably not the most inexpensive orthodontist (I don’t exactly know, since my case is an outlier, and the speed was extremely important, and worth a premium), but I believe I paid a fair amount for my requirements, and think it’s been well worth what I paid. I strongly recommend Dr. Styrt.

There are not many times I actually write a good review. And quite honestly Dr Styrt has excellent review; so why bother . But out of respect I wanted to respond to the one star review. 30 years ago, when I was in college I went to the dental school and was told I needed extensive surgery. 7 years later Dr Styrt treated me and at 50 my smile continues to “stun”. No over treatment there. Plus I will most likely have my teeth forever. My children, by getting palate expansion and two phases of orthodontia avoided possible adult surgery. Not “over treatment” at all. Just creating the “perfect smile”. Crucial to prevent caries, etc well into adult life. Things that are worthwhile cost money. I would never bargain shop in this venue.

Dr. Styrt is kind, honest and above all does incredible work. I had orthodontic work done as a teenager which due to not wearing my retainer diligently (story of most young people’s lives I daresay), the front four teeth were jutting out in extremely unappealing hillbilly fashion. Instead of getting braces again or even another retainer, Dr. Styrt managed to adjust the retainer my old orthodontist gave me to push my teeth back into place, literally saving me at least hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars. Within TWO WEEKS my teeth shifted back and with a little polishing to disguise a slightly longer front tooth, my smile is nearly flawless. Dr. Styrt is seriously a miracle worker, and his office is pretty sweet. I highly recommended him! On a side note, the coffee machine in his office makes AMAZING coffee… Don’t miss out.

So rarely can I sum up any business operation with only a single word, and that word has never been “perfect”…until now! I have been a customer of Dr. Styrt and his staff for about a year. Every visit has been quick, relaxed, friendly, enjoyable – perfect. This is a quality operation and Dr. Styrt has an amazing talent for running an ortho-shop. I finally got my braces off a week ago and the results were excellent. They really brought out my best smile and, as strange as it may sound, my mouth feels more comfortable than before I got braces. I even got a personal note from one of the staff (Stacie P) in the mail to congratulate me and remind me about the big day upcoming (as if it would have slipped my mind;) and when they got done removing my braces, Dr. Styrt handed me a gift bag with some very choice swag! I was so impressed with the care and treatment that Dr. Styrt and his staff have given our son and daughter with their orthodontia (and children’s dentistry) that I decided, at age 53, to finally get my teeth straighted as well. During the past two years, I’ve been extremely happy with all aspects of my treatment. Dr. Stryt and his staff have been very professional and supportive during this process. I’ve never had to wait for any of my appointments and his front-desk staff have been very helpful when I’ve had to make last minute changes. Technically, Dr. Stryt has performed a “minor miracle” in widening my crowded mouth, correcting my bite, straightening my teeth and even “sanding” the bottom ones down a bit to give them a more even-looking appearance. I can’t believe any negative feedback regarding Dr. Styrt’s abilities. Dozens and dozens of my children’s friends from Elementary School and now at Carmel Valley Middle School have or have had braces from Dr. Styrt. The comments from both my kids, other kids and all of the parents during and after treatment are extremely positive regarding the staff, office and their resulting perfect smiles. Dr. Styrt and his team were very caring, giving us individual and personalized care. He was attentive and he and his staff listened to concerns or questions and addressed them professionally. Dr. Styrt saw my children at every visit and gave me an update on their treatment each visit. The only time we didn’t see Dr. Styrt was when they scheduled an after-hours emergency appointment for us for a broken wire. I think it was with a staff member coming in specially as we were leaving on a trip. That was a great convenience to us. We found them VERY patient oriented and it shows throughout their entire office, starting with the complimentary hot coffee and designer teas, snacks, warm scented hand cremes. My kids want to run down the hall to get to their video game room and books and magazines. We have found them to be so much more accommodating than any other doctor we have ever been to in La Jolla! That may be why it is harder to get an afternoon appointment, though we were able to book with advance notice. However, If you call and want an appointment at 5 pm tomorrow, that may not be possible, though that is not possible at any good Dr.s office. Dr. Styrt was very personal and took an interest in my children and knew their activities outside of his office and Orthodontics. You can tell the office strives for excellence all around and that may be why I see a couple of new faces in accounting and at the front greeting. We had a great experience, found they strove for perfection (which is why you are going) and would highly recommend Dr. Styrt and his team to anyone seeking an extremely qualified Orthodontist who is caring and is committed to getting the perfect smile!
