after 30 years and 5 dentists later I think I have found a home ! What I was dreading turned out to be a rather pleasant experience . Pleasant and dentist are not two words I normally associate with each other but works in this case . If you are like me and just plain ole dread visting a dentist and hearing those ‘tut, tut , tut” comments … I recommend this place .

Dr. Hadley and Holly were fantastic. I went in for a crown and they provided me the full range of options, and the pros and cons of each option. They didn’t try to sell me on the most expensive treatment, but I opted for it anyways. They take the time to build rapport, offer you honest advice, and update you on each step as they progress through the appointment. Would 100% recommend Eastside Smiles to anyone!

Cees B. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

This is in my opinion after 50 years going to dentists, in Europe and here, the best dentist I can think of. Thomas and his incredible staff have been wonderful, professional and very competent in the work what they have done to me. All my upper front teeth have been replaced and nobody can tell that they are not my own teeth. An incredible job without having any pain on them. Thank you all at East Side Smiles!

Ginny C. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

I hadn’t been to the dentist in several years. The staff and doctor were non-judgmental and very straight forward about what needed to be done. The atmosphere is very relaxing and you can tell the staff enjoy what they do. They greet you at the door and barely have a wait which greatly reduced my personal anxiety level about being at the dentist. The actual time it took from start to finish was lightening fast and I was able to get on with my day. When it came to the work I needed done, they drew up a very clear breakdown and the cost of each item. What made me the most comfortable was their professionalism and the level of technology they were using. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend them to anyone who hates going to the dentist.

East Side Smiles is the best dentist I’ve ever been to, hands down. I’ve been going there for about 3 years now. Chelsea is the BEST – so kind and thorough. The facility is modern and comfortable. I love that they have 7AM appointments so that I can go in without having to take time off work.

Kara L. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Is it sad that my appointment was two days ago and I am still talking to my fiancé about how much I love this office? Probably! But I don’t care. The office staff is so friendly and Kim, who did my x-rays, is thorough and patient, giving me a heads up on what to expect throughout my entire first appointment. Dr. D’Aoust is knowledgeable, gentle and kind. I had great conversation with everyone I ran into in the office and felt super comfortable during my entire appointment. I definitely recommend East Side Smiles, I felt like I left with a few new besties.

Kate R. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Just had a great first visit here. The office staff was very communicative prior to my appointment. They were clear about COVID protocols, which I appreciated. The hygienist was friendly, knowledgeable, and gentle when doing the cleaning. They were very thorough overall and explained everything so that I understood what was discussed. The dentist was also friendly and thorough with his exam. I will definitely return!

I’ve been a customer for over 7 years and love East Side Smiles. I started here when another well know dentist tried to have me get a crown and to date, I haven’t needed one. The tooth they claimed was cracked, Dr. Hadley said was fine and I am happy to report, my teeth are still healthy. Thanks East Side Smiles. Everyone, Dr. and Staff are amazing.

Enjoyed my visit as a “new” patient at East Side Smiles. Very modern and up to date practice from a technological standpoint. Customer service here is excellent from the front desk through your actual treatment. My needs as a new patient were completely addressed by both the Doctor and the hygienist. Kudos need to also go the practice manager who covered all issues/questions related to treatment costs and my insurance with Delta Dental.

Fast forward 9 months down the road and I have had a couple of consultations that has resulted in a beautiful new cap (faux tooth) to replace the garish one that was completed nearly a decade ago from a dentist in St.Louis. Throughout the process, Dr. Hadley and his FABULOUS staff have made the dreaded trip to visit the dentist a truly fun, inspiring, and affordable experience. With the exception of having weird contraptions in or around my mouth, I sometime forget that I am at the dentist. No joke. The office is absolutely beautiful with recent renovations that include a new wing of procedure rooms too. With a location that in near Five Points, it is super convenient for East Siders or anyone who can hop right off the highway too. I have referred many friends to visit as they have noticed my regained confidence during the process of making my smile the best that it can be at East Side Smiles.

Heather B. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Dr. Hadley at East Side Smiles is by far the most charming and witty dentist I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. Thankfully, he’s also one of the most skilled in the nation too and his state-of-the-art office has more teeth-fixing gadgets and gizmos than any other in Middle Tennessee. Upon arrival, the staff greets you like you like an old pal, albeit one who also happens to know quite a bit about your medical history and insurance information, but a pal all the same. Seriously, East Side Smiles can hook up your grill like no other dentistry can. So, whether your mouth needs a complete overhaul or just a professional cleaning, this is the place to go. (Added bonuses: never having to wait to get in for your scheduled appointment, the occasional celebrity spotting, goody bags with each visit, TVs on the ceiling and cute east side boys galore.)

Dr. Hadley and his team are the best! Knowledgable, positive, friendly! My family has been going to East Side Smiles for years. My kids are always eager to go because they actually like going. Also, we had a dental emergency recently – I was so thankful and impressed with how quickly they responded. They are amazing!!

Corie K. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

This may be the NASA headquarters of dentistry! I became a new patient here after my dentist of three years suddenly closed his business. I chose Eastside Smiles, firstly because it is convenient to where I live and secondly because of good Yelp reviews. The dentist saw that on my paper work and even acknowledged that they live and die by customer reviews– it shows he cares what his clients think. When I arrived for my first visit I was guided through a variety if high-tech X-rays and photos. This office has top of the line equipment for sure! The dentist was running a bit behind and through casual talk the hygienist found out I was going back to work after my appointment and made several efforts to make sure I wasn’t late, even though the dentist was a bit behind. She seemed very intuitive and respectful of my time, which was nice. When the dentist greeted me with a ton of energy ( maybe too much for 7am, lol). He spent the first few minutes minutes getting to know who I was as a person and built personal rapport. He also took the time to show me exactly what his concerns were on the X-rays and photos and point out where things looked great too. This is, by far, one of the best exams I have had. I felt that the team went above and beyond any exam I’ve had in the past. They only con was they do not schedule time for a cleaning the same day as the exam. I didn’t know this until I arrived. The hygienist offered a cleaning opening the same day but it required me to wait an hour after my exam, time which I didn’t have. I scheduled cleaning for a different day, which is fine, though would have been more convenient for it to immediately follow exam. I highly recommend Eastside Smiles.

Evan M. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

I just came from the dentist earlier this morning. This was my first time coming here. I set up an appointment over the phone and got an appointment earlier than I thought possible. There was practically no waiting. I barely got to sit down before they called me back. Everyone there was really nice. I do plan on going back in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

Meg G. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

I was really excited to see East Side Smiles when we moved to East Nashville in August, but today I got a chance to try them out. The building is architecturally cool on the outside and has nice ambience on the inside. There is lots of natural light, a single cup coffee and tea maker in the waiting room and an open lay out. Very nice. I only had to wait a few minutes before being called back. Since I am a new patient I got a series of x-rays done. I feel like Rip Van Winkle, having fallen asleep with the dental technology of the past and having woken up in a way cooler future. I stood in a CT scanner and got my whole head scanned in 3D which I was able to view with the Dr. Hadley on a TV screen facing the exam chair. Then I got to view the more detailed x-rays of smaller sections of my mouth on the same screen. As if that wasn’t cool enough, Dr. Hadley looked at my teeth with a little video camera that allowed him to see my teeth close up. Oh, and gone are the cheesy posters and crappy oil paintings mounted on the ceiling above the chair. Here they have flat screen TVs and handed me a remote. Nothing like a little Today show on my day off. The true test of a dentist is what they say about my teeth. I was lucky to inherit my dad’s really strong teeth and I have never had a cavity. If I see a dentist that starts running off a list of things I need to fix, I know something is fishy. Dr. Hadley and his staff all said right off the bat that they noticed I had never had a cavity and that my teeth looked great. Dr. Hadley was personable and friendly. Very nice and clearly communicated his observations. The hygienists who worked with me were very nice. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth did a good job of balancing giving me a nice clean without destroying my mouth. Overall they were very thorough, clearly on the cutting edge of dental technology, pleasant, friendly and I left with nice clean teeth. They have definitely become our family dentist. It is great to have such a great place right here in East Nashville!

If you are someone who hates the dentist, this is the place for you! I have not been to the dentist in 3 years for fear of scolding regarding the care of my teeth. I have dreaded the dentist since I was a child but this changed my view completely! Upon entering the front staff are kind and knowledgable. They are efficient and speedy. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa and water are all offered. Then the hygienist comes and gets you. I had Anna Claire, she was superb. She eased my worry, talked to me about my life, what I didn’t like about the dentist, talked with me a about my concerns, but ultimately completely took my mind off of being nervous! Their equipment is state of the art and the use it for the purpose of providing good care, not just to be snazzy. They explain what they are looking for, and show you. I had questions and concerns, which Anna Claire answered, giving me advice and ultimately making me feel good about my questions and decisions. Dr. Hadley was very kind and also knowledgable. He was genuinely interested in me and didn’t just completely repeat everything Anna Claire had said. They had to schedule me for a follow up, the front staff talked with me about my insurance and told me what I could expect to pay at the next visit. I promise, if you are someone like me who dreads the dentist, this is the place for you!

Lesley S. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

I have been terrified of the dentist my whole life. I don’t like needles and I would rather have a broken leg than a toothache. That being said, when I first moved here almost 5 years ago, I was scarred from my last dentist so I just went with my neighborhood’s suggested dentist, Dr. Hadley. Everyone up front is so helpful, especially when it comes to talking about high $$ of the big procedures, and they’re always so helpful with scheduling and my scaredy-cat tendencies. I never get scolded for drinking too much coffee or wine as I did at my last dentist and I never feel judged for not taking care enough of my teeth to prevent a root canal. They also support Care Credit which is GREAT. Along with the technology, TVs and good music always playing (while the staff sings along), they take it to a more personal level, remembering what you’re afraid of, who you know in the neighborhood and fun non-teeth related topics. This has cured me of fearing the dentist. Yes, I still am scared of the pain, but in that light, I’ll agree with a post below me, it only took 3 days to be pain-free whereas it usually takes a week for what I had done. Who doesn’t love a great neighborhood dentist that always supports local trivia at a neighborhood restaurant. 5 stars always, these guys are amazing.

John Melton (Source: Google)

The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The music playing in the background is fun and they utilize modern technology to make the process easier (like this survey!). I updated all my info and forms online in 5 minutes, all paperless. My technician is Carrie, and she’s always a sweet person to talk to. They also processed my insurance for me rather than require upfront payment. Convenient and great service.

Kate Truscott (Source: Google)

I have been seeing Dr Hadley & his team at East Side Smiles and they are LOVELY. They genuinely make going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. Throughout the uncertainly of COVID 19 they’ve been helpful, communicative and flexible with scheduling and still helping to maintain standard of care. When I went in for a cleaning yesterday the office was sparkling clean and safe. Had I been able to see their faces through the safety masks they were wearing, I’m sure they would have had delightful smiling faces. I cannot say enough nice things about them!!

Josh L. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Ashamed… not about choosing East Side Smiles, of course, but because it took me so long to a.) find a dentist in general and b.) considering anyone other than East Side Smiles. The staff makes you feel as comfortable as possible, and whether they are giving you implants, a “deep clean” or just a regular cleaning, their passion for what they do will have you at ease. Their caring nature and state of the art equipment seriously has me excited for my next week’s visit (yes, it’s only been 24 hours since my first visit. I told you I was ashamed.) Lol. Go to East Side Smiles… you will actually begin to like the place you’ve grown to dread.

Laura S. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

There are plenty of reviews about how wonderful Dr. Hadley is. Once you visit, you’ll see that for yourself. I wanted to write a review focused on the customer service I experienced with regard to a sore jaw after cavity fillings. Turns out it’s completely normal, but being that I’d never had a cavity filled before I didn’t know that. I called the office and spoke with someone briefly about my issue. I was told that Dr. Hadley would be told about it and would call me back around lunchtime. Not even 30 minutes later, I received a call from one of the assistants and they explained everything to me. I have never in my life received a call back from a doctor or a dentist so quickly! I’ve been to East Side Smiles twice now and each visit gets better and better. I’m a major dentalphobe so the fact that I don’t dread going to the dentist is really saying something. Another bonus: they give you a written estimate of the cost of your dental work. I like Dr. Hadley so much that I pay out of network fees from my dental insurance company, so the estimated cost is something I find to be very handy for budgeting.

Deborah B. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Thanks to Dr. Hadley and his team, I have a new dentist! Always welcoming and accommodating and very thorough. High quality care combined with that neighborhood feel we East Nashvillians love so much [or is it Nashvillions? 🙂 ]! It’s like stopping by a friend’s place and you happen to get your teeth cleaned and a few x-rays while you’re visiting. I highly recommend East Side Smiles.

Alison Randolph (Source: Google)

East Side Smiles has consistently provided the most enjoyable dentistry experiences I’ve ever had since my first visit a couple of years ago. The staff is incredible. They begin services promptly, they are always courteous, and the focus is always put on anything positive they can say about my teeth and oral health rather than what’s wrong. They work quickly while engaging in genuine, interesting conversation throughout each visit. I’ll never go anywhere else. I used to loathe going to the dentist, but now I actually look forward to it. And they have TVs on the ceiling with closed captioning so you can focus on something fun while supine. I love East Side Smiles 🙂

Dr. Hadley is a very good dentist (I hate dentists and have had some horrible ones). He and his team are very professional and welcoming, and the office is very nice and clean (exactly what you would want in a dentist office. When I called after having excruciating pain for the past week, they worked with the schedule and were able to get me in the same day to be examined. I had never had a root canal before and needed to have 3! So many people told me stories about how horrible it was, how their crown mold (after waiting weeks for it to be made) didn’t fit, where they’d have to then wait another week or more for the mold to be remade. Then, they complained that they were having residual pain years after the procure. My experience was not like this. Dr. Hadley’s work was impeccable. The root canal itself was not as bad as I had expected. I appreciated how Dr. Hadley would explain to me what he was doing, and would let me know if there were any changes to the plan before proceeding forward. Not only did Dr. Hadley FIT ME FOR MY MOLD, but he also MADE THE CROWN MOLD, and IMPLANTED THE CROWN MOLD ensuring a perfect fit ALL ON THE SAME DAY IN ONE APPOINTMENT! It was perfect. The third crown was a little more painful than the others, so he callee me personally a few days later to make sure I wasn’t having any problems. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH MY TEETH/CROWNS SINCE HAVING THREE ROOT CANALS. I have no pain and no problems eating. Dr. Hadley is an amazing dentist. I recommend him to anyone who ever tells me they’re having tooth problems. So, I recommend that you all check him out!

Ashley T. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Holy moley denistry!!!! This place rocks the casbah! I had two visits within a week of each other. First was an emergency visit due to a molar breaking off and the second visit was the nightmare “fix it” appointment… I was pleasantly greeted and seen promptly both times. I knew my first visit was going to be bad and by bad I knew I would be back again within the next week to dare I say it…GET A ROOT CANAL/CROWN!!! The verdict came in and I was sent on my way with a temporary until my appointment for the dreaded root canal the next week. (I’ve never had one and have only heard horror stories/nightmares about them) Fast forward a week. The temporary stayed in:) I was not looking forward to this ol’ rooty root canal and I had reservations some kind of serious. I let Dr. Hadley know how I was feeling and he assured me it was gonna be all good after we some fellowship about the whole ordeal. I was in his care/chair from 8:30am-11:30am. The root canal was tiring and exaushting, but Dr. Hadley made it the best he could for me considering the procedure. I got a couple breaks to walk around the office and that was nice. We killed 2 birds with one stone and I got a filling put in another tooth as well. It was a long morning to say the least, but I made it through with Dr. Hadley’s care and epic sing-a-long/music choice from Tears for Fears to Hall n Oates. I found myself “head over heels” for my new dentist and his incredible friendly and warm staff of ladies and “out of touch” with that broken molar that was now a shiny new crown jewel of a tooth!!!! Whats the most amazing part of this story? Well Im glad you asked…I was sore for most of the day after the root canal and got a prescription for pain meds. I only had to take 2 pains pills that day and woke up the next morning without any pain!!! It’s been a wonderful recovery since and I can’t stress how happy I am with East Side Smiles!!!! Take care of your teeth people:)

Esther G. from Cross Plains, TN (Source: Yelp)

I have been Amanda Alyea’s patient since she was in school training to be my hygienist for LIFE! That’s how I came to know and love East Side Smiles. And God bless them for accepting me as a patient. I’m definitely a challenge. Dr. Hadley is the only dentist I’ve seen so I can only review based on my experiences with him. He is knowledgeable, caring, and trustworthy. I am currently undergoing their six month smiles program and will post my before and after pictures when we’re done. (I’m bringing brace face back!!) My kindergartener and I both look forward to our dental appointments and consider Hadley’s Angels at East Side Smiles the best at defeating plaque and sugar bugs!!

Ashley H. from Arlington, VA (Source: Yelp)

They deserve all 5 stars. I had an overwhelming fear of the dentist, and they will put you at ease! I have some crowns and major work coming up, and I appreciate that they gave me a full list of the work I needed and the costs (including what my insurance would pay, and what I would need to pay). I’ll be coming back for all my dental needs.

Phillip and Lauren Worthey (Source: Google)

I had been with a dentist across town for a few years. My filling kept falling out and it was a huge pain in the tooth (get it?). Tried out East Side Smiles and was told I needed a root canal. While RC’s are never fun, I’ve been problem free for two years. Great staff, super convenient if you’re in East Nashville, and they are not stuck in 1990 when it comes to dental practice (3d scans and all sorts of other current tech).

Cale Schmit (Source: Google)

East Side Smiles provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There are TVs above the patient chairs on the ceiling so you can watch whatever show you want while you get your teeth cleaned. The hygienists are also very professional and awesome. Dr. Hadley and Dr. D’Aoust are both great.

Katie R. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Dr. Hadley might be the nicest, most enthusiastic dentist I’ve ever met. Seriously, this is a man who loves his job. He is devoted to his patients in a way that is seldom paralleled. Not only this, but he does fantastic work, especially in the cosmetic dentistry department. I know this because I’ve damaged two of my front teeth and you can’t even tell! I had the misfortune of fracturing a tooth on a Friday afternoon. I called the office but they were about to close. Not wanting me to go the entire weekend in pain, Dr. Hadley and his staff CAME IN ON SATURDAY MORNING AFTER RUNNING THE TOMATOFEST 5K to see me. They sat me down, and, in running shorts, performed a root canal. Bonus! Dr. Handley sang along to Katy Perry while he was performing the root canal. If this doesn’t convince you to go to East Side Smiles, I don’t know what will.

Juvonda D. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

Let me start by saying go to this Dentist! I went for the 6 month braces program. They are very skilled and make the process a pleasure. Not to mention how clean and beautiful the place is. I had searched other dentist and they did not want to really help me because my teeth were “straight” enough. Although, they expressed those sentiments, they were still willing to help. And they were fair about it. They did not think I needed them for 6 months and charged me accordingly. They could have easily charged me way more and I wouldn’t have known the wiser. I did have one mix up. I came into my appointment knowing that I owed money. I was not prepared to pay what was asked, and was not seen. Now, I owed it, no arguement there. But, I also thought that I had communicated to the person who I made the appointment with that the balance would not be met entirely and was acceptable as she still allowed me to keep my appointment. Needless to say I was not happy. It was time wasted for me when I could have been at work, and I work 45 minutes away. East Side Smiles is very time conscious. I’ve gotten calls when I’m literally 2 minutes late. Which is good because, I’ve never had to wait for any of my appointments. So it really upset me even more that I didn’t feel my time was valued. I do feel they could have been more flexible, but then again, I don’t make the rules. This is where it gets good…I was a terrible patient, I called and said very rude things to the Office Manager Gena. Did not conduct myself in a positive way or a person that wanted to get things resolved AT ALL! She could have been just as rude, fired me as a customer, etc. She didn’t. Instead, she still treated me with dignity and respect. And to top it all off she is still willing to work with me on my balance! So, please give this place a try. It’s good on so many levels.

Ashley V. from Nashville, TN (Source: Yelp)

I just want to start off by saying if I could give this place 6 stars I would. I have been a patient at another dentist (BMFD) across town for the last 2 years thinking I was getting good care there. Little did I know they told me I had cavities when I didn’t, they rushed me into getting implant surgery and broke my bottom retainer and were going to charge me over $100 to fix it when it wasn’t even my fault. That was when I realized it was time for me to find a new dentist. I did A LOT of research online, reading reviews trying to find a better dentist because I have had a lot of work done to my mouth in the past. That’s when I stumbled across East Side Smiles with Dr. Hadley. I called that day to see if they took my insurance (BCBS PPO) which they did and asked to make an appointment. I expected it to be a couple of months before I could get a new patient appointment but I was able to get one the very next week! The staff on the phone were very friendly and welcoming right off the bat. When I arrived to the office, the first thing I noticed is that the building looks brand new and modern! The inside is kept extremely clean and they even have coffee and tea in the waiting room. As soon as I finished filling out my paperwork the dental hygienist was ready to see me, I didn’t have to wait at all! The office is very high tech. After getting 3D x-rays taken, they go up on a screen in front of the patient chair that way the hygienist and dentist can go through it with you and show you everything. They even give you a copy on a CD to take home just incase. There is also a flat screen TV on the ceiling above the chair that you can put on any channel to watch while getting your teeth cleaned. I have not seen this anywhere else and thought that this was very cool! I had Anna Claire clean my teeth and she was great! In the past I have had dental hygienist who would cause me to bleed and then not wipe the blood off my face when they are done. She not only explained everything she was going to do, but she was so gentle and thorough and really put my mind at ease. During the X-rays, another dental hygienist came in to help hold equipment and she was just as pleasant and kind, immediately asking me how I was doing. Overall, I had a great experience. Earlier than expected wait time for an appointment, didn’t have to wait once I arrived, office was extremely clean, staff were friendly , knowledgeable, and patient, and yes I would HIGHLY recommend this office and Dr. Hadley to anybody I know. Dr. Hadley and the staff were very honest about what I needed and did not try to push anything extra such as braces or whitening like my old office did. **This is my first yelp review, and felt it was necessary because the care I received was better than I have received anywhere else.

Best dentist in Nashville!! I am proud to say I have work at East Side Smiles for almost 2 years now! I have never worked for anyone who cares more for his patients. Dr. Hadley is fun yet professional and always recommends the very best treatment for his patients. He treats our patients like family ! If you are looking to improve your smile with cosmetic dentistry I hope you will consider Dr. Hadley. He delivers excellent dentistry!! Call us

I have never been this comfortable at a dentist. Staff was so polite I felt like I was hanging out with a friend just waiting for the dentist. Dr. Hadley was very calming while still having a great sense of humor. He made sure all my questions were answered before he left the room. I didn’t feel rushed at all. I also LOVED how before anything was done, they brought the me a cost report of what my insurance would cover and what I would walk out paying. Then after I approved the cost they got to work. Even being five months pregnant they were able to make sure I didn’t feel a thing while making sure my baby not effected. I’ve already passed around his name to a few friends looking for a great dentist and I will continue to do so.
