What ever happened to the “Golden Rule”? I am here to tell you that it is alive and well at Kirkwood Family Dental. I have always been brought up to treat people the way you would want to be treated. (not to have to wait 2 months to get a tooth pulled which is infected). My situation was rather perplexing and Dr. Stahle suggested I go down and talk to the people at Kirkwood Family Dental (which happened to be in the same building). The staff was very friendly and very accommodating since I was a “walk-in” but they never turned me away. I got in to see the dentist in less than an hour! Talk about a great feeling! Once in the chair it was like a knew Dr. Tate all my life. The experience was very exceptional. Even though I have maxed out my dental insurance, the staff went the extra mile to check and see if I could get a discount, and I did! Wow what fast, professional, caring and great service I received. I have found an new home for all my dental needs, even though I live 75 miles away. I am very willing to travel these extra miles to go to a dentist who believes in the that forgotten “Golden Rule”. Kudos to all in your office. What a great group of people! Absolutely love Dr. Tate and his staff! This was my first visit and I was blown away with how friendly and helpful everyone was. Dr. Tate and his staff were very thorough, detailed and genuine. I’ve been going to the same dentist for over 20 years; however after visiting Kirkwood Family Denistry Dr. Tate will be my new dentist! I highly recommend his services!

Today was my second visit to Dr. Tate. His staff is so attentive and cheerful and I do believe he has the best dental assistant working for him in the St. Louis area…she knows what he wants and needs before he does! I had two crowns removed as the tooth was decaying beneath the crown and would you believe I almost dozed off in the chair while they were working?!? They are very attuned to patient comfort and very attentive to the detail in their work. Highly recommended.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in nearly 10 years, so I was terrified that I had a bunch of horrid cavities and all my teeth would need to be removed. My teeth went south with my last pregnancy even though I did everything I was supposed to do (that girl sucked the life out of me!). I was hesitant to go to the dentist at all, but I finally had dental insurance and I didn’t want to pay for something and not use it. I called around, and all the offices I spoke to couldn’t get me in for a simple cleaning/checkup for over three months. I knew I’d chicken-out by then, so I called around and came across Dr. Tate’s office. They could see me within the week. I was sold. I was very nervous, but the staff at Dr. Tate’s office is unbelievably caring and I honestly couldn’t ask for anything more. I did need a couple small filling, but nothing major. They worked with me to make sure I was comfortable and relaxed. I also needed my last two wisdom teeth removed. Let me tell you – this was a huge deal for me. They’d given me excruciating crying-and-won’t-get-out-of-bed pain for an entire year and then finally died or something because the pain had stopped. Dr. Tate said they’d be easy, but being the skeptical person I am, I refused. Dr. Tate’s office happily referred me to an oral surgeon and I put it off, terrified like my “Piglet” self. I went back in 6 months later for a cleaning and Dr. Tate told me again that they were simple extractions and he could do them. I caved, knowing I needed to buck-up and be the 26 year old grown-butt woman I am. So I went ahead and had Dr. Tate pull them out. I got in at 11:30. I was walking out, paid and everything, by noon. And that’s another thing I absolutely love about his office – we have never had to wait for more than five minutes for our appointments. He also is a very kid-friendly office. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Tate’s office. I will be sad when we move, but I may just have to schedule trips to see family around dental cleanings… yes I will miss Dr. Tate’s office that much. Plus, what is better than a dentist with a remarkable bedside manner, who sings while he works? Dr. Tate truly puts “whistle while you work” into action. I love his office so much that I grab business cards every time I’m in there and pin them on community bulletin boards and leave them on the break room tables at work.

What can I say? My kids now like to go to see the Dentist. When you have young ones like I do, ages 5 & 8; that’s pretty important. Dr. Tate is known as the painless dentist. At first I didn’t believe it, but when my daughter needed a filling she didn’t even know she got an injection! And it’s not just my kids, my husband even likes Dr. Tate- he had a chipped tooth in the front of his mouth that has been there since he was a kid- now he looks like Brad Pitt!! Thanks, Dr. Tate and your staff – you all are great!

Dr. Tate is hands down The Best Dentist, you could ever have! I went there for almost 15 years! I had a bad experience with a dentist who told me I had 14 cavities after never having any. When he (the bad dentist) worked on the first side with 3 or 4 “supposed” cavities, they told me one price when I scheduled the appt- and after he worked on me they told me $200 more than the original $150 was due?!?! A friend referred me to Dr. Tate and he only saw two cavities that needed attention by his standards. Not 8+ as the other Dr was trying to drill into. Everyone is SO nice! I have seen the same people working there most of my time there, so he must treat his workers as well as his patients! Oh! And the previous hygienist (at the bad dentist office) had chipped one of my front teeth in the spot where they always scrape a little harder, (I think we all have that one spot we know will be sore cause it’s just where the plaque tends to gather), and the shady older dentist only offered me a $3000 veneer where most of my real tooth would be sawed off!!!! I don’t have that kind of money, and even if I did I would never want to saw off a perfectly good tooth! Dr. Tate offered without me telling him about it, “Hey there’s a small chip in that bottom front tooth. You want me to buff it down a little to look better?” It’s not perfect up real close, but to the naked eye from a smiles distance it looks good as new!!! That made me feel sooo much better about myself! He is honest and fair even if you don’t have insurance. I have sent a few people to him that needed emergency work and had never gone to him before, and he saw them right away. One person didn’t have insurance but Dr. Tate’s office was very eager to help him in every way they could. His wife Sharon is as pleasant as can be- she makes paying $$$ pleasant:) And they were always very flexible with busy schedules. AND his office is decorated with his children and grandchildren’s artwork framed on the walls. Which I personally always thought was very delightful! The artwork was more entertaining than some dull offices “professional” art decor. AND!!!!! He whistles and sings while he works on you!!!! He’s not half bad:) His voice reminds me of my grandpas choir voice. He is always in a pleasant mood and very inviting! I only left when my insurance changed just recently. Money is tight so, I tried a new dentist. It was a nightmare!!!!! I am currently getting a list of dentists from my insurance company and his office staff offered to have him personally approve a few dentists for me. Which I thought was very sweet- above and beyond! I called them stressed about my situation, (still a bit shook up from the current nightmare dentist), and Tania offered to help me find another dentist! She was very caring and willing to help- even if I will not be seeing them! These are good people! A diamond in the rough of the dentistry world!!!
