My previous dentist retired and I was looking for a good dentist, and was recommended to Dr. Schmidt’s office.   My experience with this office was altogether hassle free.  The Ladies in the front office made setting up and appointment simple, and they were very nice, cheerful and patient with me; which goes a long way because I always have a million questions. Dr. Schmidt and his dental assistant were very nice!  Even though I had quite a few problems going on they made the situation comfortable.  I was having issues with previous dental work and they even contacted the dental practice where I had the previous work done, and helped get my situation all squared away. I had a teeth cleaning done here and I will say the hygienist was extremely thorough!!  She cleaned my teeth for an hour, and was extremely considerate of my comfort!  I am definitely making this my dentist!

I had to come in as an ’emergency’ patient with tooth pain, I didn’t have insurance coverage yet and not a lot of money to spend due to moving soon. They were very understanding and willing to work with me on what treatment could be done with in my budget to hold me over until my insurance kicks in. I wound up doing a partial root canal and despite being told I may be in pain that day and the next I was surprisingly virtually pain free aside from a slight jaw ache from having it open for so long. Dr. Schmidt was very knowledgeable, patient and gentle especially in a time of pain. Easy to talk to about the problem and the treatment needed.  His assistant was also very kind and made sure I was comfortable while I was there. I wish I wasn’t moving so I could continue to go there. If they read this… Thanks so much!

I just came from a cleaning with Dr. Schmidt and his team. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised! After not going to the dentist in 2+ years, I was expecting the worst. Lori was my hygienist and she was very nice, informative, and gentile on the teeth and gums. She made sure that I was comfortable and that what she was doing did not hurt. Also, she gave me some new information my previous dentist had not and reviewed some old techniques that I had been slacking on. I would recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for a good dentist in the area.

I know 5 stars is like “no way” but honestly, my 10 year old and I have never had better care than with these specialists (Erich, Mark, Jan, Cari, and the rest of the team). Everybody there is really nice, they do AWESOME work, and the most important part….THEY ARE HONEST. We are military so we have to move and the only thing I am sad about leaving behind is everybody at El Camino Dental Arts. I am not exaggerating either, anybody need good dentists (because they are hard to find) go to these awesome peeps…

Love it here! The staff is super friendly and very professional and the office is always clean. My cleanings are VERY thorough and I always leave feeling like I have a new set of chompers 😉 I’ve never had a problem with any of the dental work performed here, Dr. Schmidt is the best! We moved to Texas in 2010 but continue coming here, scheduling our appointments alongside our family visits, it’s a win-win!

My family has been going to El Camino Dental Arts/Dr. Schmidt for many years. He and his staff are very professional, thorough, pleasant, and very caring. The office and rooms are always clean, bright and comfortable. We have always had positive experiences without any hidden surprises.

I hate the dentist and I always have, until now. Luckily, the entire staff is super nice and sensitive to the fact that not everyone is a fan of getting their mouths drilled. The doc himself is really kind and I’ve seen/heard him interact with kids and he does a great job with them too. He put me at ease because he explained exactly what he was doing before he did it, so I know what to expect. I needed my first cavity filled and honestly I’m so glad i had that experience here, I wasn’t made to feel ridiculous when i was scared and they did a great job listening to my concerns. Their dental hygienist is also so nice, I needed a deep clean (about a 2 hour procedure) and the ease of conversation really helps to make that time go by quickly. I’d highly recommend trying El Camino Dental Arts if you’re in the market for a new dentist.

Dr Erich Schmidt and crew are the best.  Been having my teeth taken care of here regularly for the past 10 years. They moved to Vista office from O’side – last place was more convenient for me. However, hard to follow them to the new place because… well, heck I’m sticking with the best DDS and crew. Absolutely enjoy my bi- annual cleaning with Gala, and the scheduling and front desk staff are just absolutely stellar. I’m never charged more for services that are not needed or are not covered ny my insurance… plus, absolutely love grooving to the piped music while my teeth are being cared for. Bottom line: I trust the staff and like the price.

Today was my very first visit and I was so amazed at the great customer service, the attentiveness of the staff and every question I had was answered professionally. I would definitely recommend them to someone else.

New crowns are perfect! I am a dental hygienist retired, and have had several crowns done by other dentists, but none are as well done as the ones Dr. Schmidt did for me. I wish I could have had him do all of my prior dental work. Please consider Dr. Scmidt if you want the best care and done right for a fair price.
