I called the front desk to schedule an appointment because of a lost retainer. Luckily, I was able to get a same day appointment. Once I went in, the appointment proceeded on schedule and I was able to get a mold taken of my teeth and was sent home within 20 minutes. Dr. Lam was kind and informative and let me know that he would try to get the retainer to me as fast as possible since he could tell I was concerned about my teeth moving. What do you know, I got a call 3 hours later letting me know that the retainer had been made and was ready for me to pick up.

Dr. Lam is amazing!! He’s very thorough and sooo personable. I felt like he genuinely cared about me and my teeth throughout my whole treatment. I’m sad to say that my treatment has been completed and that I’ll no longer be seeing Dr. Lam on a regular basis because I really did look forward to all of my appointments with him. But I’m thankful that he did such a great job with my teeth!!! 😀

I’m so happy I chose Dr Albert Lam to be my orthodontist when I decided to get braces. Dr Lam has been doing an amazing job getting my teeth fixed. I recently got married. Dr Lam and his team took off my braces the day before my wedding and put it back on a week after. The wedding pictures turned out to be very nice and many people commented how nice my teeth looked. I’ve been wanting braces for a very VERY long time. I didn’t know where to start or where to go. Luckily, my friend referred me to Dr. Lam. The very next week I was on my way to the consultation appointment! Dr. Lam was super nice and easy to talk to. I told him all my concerns about my teeth and my expectations. He made sure I understood the process and how long it will take. We went over the paper work right away. They also give you the option to have a payment plan so you don’t have to put a chunk of $$ down. The same day, I got my teeth molded and was told to come back in 2 weeks to get my actual braces on. The whole staff is SO friendly and they all make you feel very comfortable. FINALLY ! I’m brace faced:)))))) YAY no more crooked teeth!

Dr. Lam did an excellent job with my son’s teeth. My son had horrible buck teeth which he was teased at in middle school. Thanks to Dr Lam my son has gorgeous model teeth; he is now in High School. I would absolutely recommend Dr Lam. He’s young, very energetic and always double checks his assistants – has excellant multi-task skills!!!! I’m not sure how many offices he works at, but he sure knows all his patients like the palm of his hand. 🙂

I have been in braces since April of 2009. I started with Dr. Lam at another office and after a terrible experience with the office ( Not Dr. Lam) I followed him to Embarcadero Dentistry. I wanted Invisalign and he told me that I was not a good candidate. After the disappointment wore off, I was glad that he told me the truth and didn’t try to take my money and keep me in orthodontic treatment for years. Dr Lam was very honest and upfront about what to expect with my treatment. He is very personable and spends lots of time explaining things to me to make sure I fully understand. I never feel rushed at our appointments. My smile is absolutely amazing. I am months ahead of schedule and couldn’t be happier!! I refer all my friends and family to Dr. Lam

I’m going to move my previous review about the receptionist to Embarcadero Dentistry page after receiving a friendly suggestion message from another patient. I agree, this is unfair to post something about their receptionist here because Dr. Albert Lam can’t really control their staffs. A quick update about my treatment with Dr. Albert Lam, I eventually went back to him because of his (more than) sufficient knowledge about Invisalign, and also his professional manner that has been making the process smoothly and easy! He explains every single details clearly to me and patiently answers all my questions. I love being his patient. I can ignore their rude receptionist for now.

I saw Dr Lam because I had a permanent bottom retainer that broke and he saw me right away and was able to consult me on my options. In the end I decided to replace it and he did a really thorough job in making the retainer and putting it in place. If my teeth ever move (I had braces when I was little), I will def see him to get them fixed!

Came in for a replacement retainer because my dentist recommended a new one after I had new fillings. Dr. Lam took a look at my retainer and assured me a new one was not necessary because the way I bite and the way my retainer fits are not the cause of my fractured fillings. Saved me time and money. Dr. Lam has the training and expertise to treat a board range of orthodontic conditions. His special interests include cosmetic orthodontics, Invisalign®, night-time splints/retainers, orthodontics in conjunction with orthognathic surgery and pre-restoration orthodontics. He enjoys using the most innovative products in orthodontics, such as self-ligating braces and temporary anchorage implants. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Lam and his family have lived in San Francisco for several years. He received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada. Dr. Lam obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Harvard University, and certificate in orthodontics from Boston University. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, California Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. Outside of the office, Dr. Lam enjoys spending time with his wife Alice, son Brandon and daughter Alison. He also enjoys travelling, attending sporting events, skiing and playing golf.
