Drs. Emery are both so friendly and professional.  I have referred a few people to this office, 2 who were afraid of their previous dentists, and they had trouble trusting dentists.  Both ladies I referred to this office were very happy with the care they received. I even brought my dad here, who had trouble with his teeth, because of radiation treatment, at 82 years old, it was the first time he had a toothache, he really liked Dr. Doug. Aside from the 2 awesome dentists, the assistants and hygienists are great at what they do. Every time I have had a cleaning (every 6 months), it seems the appointments get easier.   Thanks Kaylin! I certainly didn’t forget Sue and Adrianne in the front office, you will get a smile and a friendly hello when you walk in for your appointment.  Sue is very knowledgeable about insurance and will find out about your plan before you even get there. I highly recommend this office, especially if you are a little afraid, because of a scary past dental experience.  Give this office a chance, you will want to come back.

I’ve been a patient of Drs. Doug and Alyson Emery for over 15 years, and can’t say enough positive things about them. They are caring, professional, on-time, generous (they’ve helped some of my friends in need), and available in an emergency. Just this past Saturday, Dr. Doug met me at the office to fix a crown that had fallen off. I could have made it until Monday, but he was going in to help one other patient in need, so, I was blessed to get it fixed right away, and on a weekend. If you are looking for a dental practice that will feel like you’ve also met new family or friends, I suggest that you look no further.

I went to see Dr. Doug after I broke off a piece of my back molar eating popcorn.  I called over to the office and saw them the next day first thing in the morning.  Dr. Doug did an assessment of the damage and assured me that the fix would not be as bad as I thought.  I was thinking root canal and lots of needles.  He told me about their new technology that 3D scans the tooth, matches and mills a replacement for the missing enamel and installs it all in the same day.  I was a little skeptical. He started with a simple scan of the tooth with some sort of wand that went in my mouth.  No needles or pain.  The scan came up on the computer and you could see exactly where the enamel was missing on the tooth.  Once the scan was complete my initial appointment was finished, just about 40 minutes.  He told me the mill in the office would recreate the missing section and I could come back in the afternoon to have it cemented on the tooth.  He also prepped the tooth with some sort of putty so that I would not have discomfort throughout the day. I came back in the afternoon and Dr. Doug matched up the milled replacement to make sure it fit perfectly.  It did!  He then cemented it on and once it cured he filed it down and adjusted my bite better than it was when I came in.  No needles or pain, just a perfectly matched tooth in less than 30 minutes.  The best part of the entire process was the speed, same day service, and precision of the procedure.  Oh yeah the lack of needles and pain are great too.

I’ve been going to Emery and Emery for quite some time now. I recently got a filling done, waited in the waiting room for about a minute and was placed in the dentist chair by a friendly dental assistant. The dentist came in to numb my gums and give me a numbing shot, and I didn’t feel a thing! The numbing shot is the most dreaded part for me and I felt no pain whatsoever. My tooth was filled rather quickly as well! I was in and out within 25 min!!! No pain, quick experience and my mouth wasn’t all crazy numb. I was able to gargle and swish water in my mouth without it falling out (you know what I mean) lol. I’m also a mother and am breastfeeding and they provided me with an anesthetic that’s safe for me and my baby. I love this dentist! Always a great experience.

I went to Dr. Doug to have a broken molar fixed and some fillings done and the experience was pretty much painless despite my fear of it.  Dr. Doug is reassuring and very careful always asking and proceeding with caution.  I go out of my network to see him because its important to me to feel comfortable and he does great work besides!  Thank you Dr. Doug!

I am so thankful to have found this amazing dental office. Both Dr. Doug and Dr. Alyson have been my dentists now for more than 15 years.  They are both professional, extremely thorough, very caring and personable, and I know they spend a great deal of time staying current with new techniques and methods.  I have never experienced a moment of discomfort of any kind.  I have easily recommended more than a half dozen friends to Emery & Emery, and each one has thanked me.

I have been in Long Beach for 11 years now and have only been seeing the Emery’s for 3 or so years.  I used to go back to the Fullerton area to see all my Drs. from when I used to live out there. When my dentist retired I was told the new Dr. would take care of me, but he wanted to do unnecessary dental procedures; just for the insurance, and my money.  I was so upset with my “replacement dentist”, I called my old boss (a dentist) and asked for a referral to someone good.  He referred me to Drs. Emery’s office and it was magic.  I was referred to someone GREAT! Both Drs. Emery are so friendly and I just love the whole staff.  Sue can almost recognize your voice over the phone, she is just so wonderful.  If I have to change my cleaning appointment, that means I’ll see a different hygienist and that’s ok, they are all GREAT. So if you are someone who is scared of the dentist, then you want to make an appointment with this office, they will treat you with such care.  I have referred 2 of my loved ones to this office and they couldn’t be happier with them.  This is a private office, not a clinic, and you will be taken care of by the best there is. TWO THUMBS UP!

Though my wife and I have been going to Emery and Emery for around 15 years, it seems like we’ve known them forever. As a military brat and veteran, I have seen my share of dentists over the years, both good and bad experiences. That said, Dr. Alyson and Dr. Doug are by far the best dentists I have ever had and they are great people as well. We both look forward to seeing them AND their staff and trust them completely with our teeth as well as our mouths in general. My wife had a scare with oral cancer a few years back and Dr. Alyson was simply fabulous throughout the whole process.  Their staff of hygienists is great as well. I don’t think it is possible to find a better group of dental professionals in Southern California and would assure anyone that you couldn’t put your oral health in better hands. Ted and Criselda. Emery and Emery is the finest dentistry practice I have ever experienced in 62 years of life.  They are always kind, efficient, thorough, and aware of my physical and financial needs.  Every time i visit their practice I am always treated in a professional, gentle and compassionate manner.  The doctors and their staff are always a delight to see, you forget you/re going to the dentist.  They have always taken excellent care of my teeth- my best dentists ever.  Thank you for all your care.  Stacy Walker.

Dr Doug is wonderful. I was a tad hesitant to go to the dentist for many reasons. An old cap broke off and I called the next morning. They took me that day even though, I was a new patient. Everyone from the front office to the back are very nice. Dr Doug and his assistant Martha were very gentle using the latest technology.Today, I have a beautiful new cap and a better smile. I also like to mention that they did not try to add any additional work then what I came in for. I now have a dentist after 16 years in Long Beach that I will continue to go to, as well as my family.

This place and the people are awesome. All of the staff are very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I came in with a dental emergency and they helped me so fast and made me feel so much better. Dr. Alyson and Dr. Doug are amazing! I am a regular patient of the office for routine teeth cleaning and dental care but today I came in because my wisdom tooth had become infected. They immediately starting helping me fight the infection and gave me the necessary antibiotics right in the office. Dr. Doug then got my tooth out ASAP! I feel so much better. Thank you both for your professionalism and quick action to make me feel so much better.

I started experiencing extremely sharp tooth pain right when I was set to go on vacation, so I called the office two days before I left and Alyson was able to squeeze me in with such short notice. She explained the process thoroughly, treated me, and eliminated the pain. Because of Dr. Emery and her staff, I was able to fully enjoy my vacation with my family. I would highly recommend this dental office to anybody.

I have been going to this office for over 26 years and I have never been disappointed in any way! I am always been more than pleased, couldn’t be happier! I can’t imagine ANY office being better than this one! Sue in the front office is AMAZING! Melanie has been my hygienist all this time and she is beyond fantastic! Not only is she an expert in her field and does an excellent job but she is friendly, outgoing. loving and engaging (even when you can’t talk) 🙂 My kids see Kaylin and they rave about her too! She’s fabulous! Dr. Alyson is my main dentist and I can’t say enough about her! She is beyond PHENOMENAL! I see Dr. Doug when she is not available and he is INCREDIBLE! They take such good care of me and my entire family (and friends that I refer) all the time, even in emergencies. I have been a patient of Dr.’s Emery for almost thirty years. Dr. Allison has built me a bridge for my front four upper teeth that will, in all likelihood, last as long as I do and she built it more than a decade ago!  Dr. Doug is currently building me a crown for a broken tooth that also should last as long as I do.  He also recently built my wife’s new dentures,  and they are beautiful– no only cosmetically, but, more important, functionally! Their team of hygienists & support personnel are outstanding: Marie has been cleaning my teeth for as long as I’ve been going to them and Melanie and the others are just fantastic — in fact, they’re so good, a couple of them are actually teaching students in dental hygiene schools. I’ve been going to Emery & Emery for the past 12 years. Doug is my primary – he’s a lot of fun. Since I had my two front teeth broken before Christmas in 8th grade, he’s been there every step of the way on my recovery to a better and brighter smile. The other half of the battle with any Dentist is billing. Their staff has been incredibly patient and taken initiative throughout all of the insurance battles that surfaced along the way. I refer EVERYONE who asks (and even those that don’t) to Dr. Doug and Dr. Alyson. I have been going to this office for almost 20 years. The entire staff is amazing. If you need a dentist, stop right now and book an appointment. You will not be disappointed. Over the years, I have convinced most of my family to give the office a try and they all LOVE it. I came to see Dr. Alyson after a bad dental experience. She was extremely patient with me and got my teeth back in tip top shape. Over the years Dr. Alyson, Dr. Doug and their entire staff have completely eased all my fears. I actually LOVE going to the dentist. You are greeted by name when you walk in and never have to wait. Melanie usually cleans my teeth, but I have had my teeth cleaned by each of the hygienists. They are all very gentle, professional and great. Some facts: The office is always clean. Everyone wears goggles and gloves and equipment is covered and protected. The environment is sterile. The technology is state of the art. You take digital X-rays and charts are computerized. (They take pictures of your teeth and they pop up on the computer screen.) There are TV’s in each room (except the waiting room because like I said..there is no waiting. LOVE THAT!) Dr. Doug and Dr. Alyson stay current on all the newest dental technology and continue to educate themselves and their patients. I look forward to my check ups because I get to see the staff and catch up. I leave feeling like I just had lunch with old friends.

I live in Long Beach and have been going to this office for close to ten years now.  About 5 years ago I had a filling done which was sand blasted and filled with no pain.  Also fast.  Amazing how dentistry has evolved.  Later my old fillings were leaking and had to be replaced.  Dr. Alyson first used a cotton swab with an anesthetic on it to numb my gums so I couldn’t feel the needle. During multiple injections I couldn’t feel it. Totally painless and told her so.  She replaced my fillings and it took maybe 30 min and is super nice!  Recently I needed to have a tooth bonded from over brushing and needed injections first.   This also was painless and fast.  Other than that I get regular cleaning and x-rays.  The hygienists are also kind and very gentle while working.  She and Dr. Doug are very skilled dentists and up to date on technology.  Great work!  Never be afraid to get a cavity filled again.

Emery & Emery, DDS is the only dental office I trust. I’ve been going to Alyson and Doug ever since I can remember. As a child around age 3, I would come in with my mom, and Alyson or Doug would count my teeth and review brushing techniques to prevent a development of a fear of the dentist. To this day, I have no problem going to the dentist, in fact, i love it. (unheard of, right?) The staff here knows my family and I so well, and are always so warm and welcoming. There’s nothing like making a phone call to Sue (the receptionist), and her knowing exactly who I am within seconds. My favorite part of the whole office is the family feeling! It’s the perfect size and has few employees so you never feel like just a number here.  All of the dental hygienists are phenomenal! I’ve gone to each and every one of them and highly recommend each! They are clean, gentle, painless, friendly, and well educated! I’ve been a patient here for nearly 21 years seeing them twice a year, and will continue as a patient for as long as I can. I give them 5 stars without a doubt! On a side note, to strengthen my teeth, I still ask them to paint the fluoride on even though I’m over the age of 18 once the cleaning concludes! Hehe. All of the hygienists are happy to do it for me which I appreciate! I’ll do anything to keep my teeth healthy and pearly! I highly suggest the fluoride! I hope you walk out of their office with a pearly white smile from ear to ear just as I do!

When I moved to Long Beach in 1998 and needed a new dentist, I asked a friend to recommend a dentist and  that’s how I found Emery and Emery. I go to Dr Doug but have seen Dr Alluson when he was out and they are both wonderful.  I see Kaylin for cleanings and I look forward to catching up with her about our favorite new restaurants downtown and where we’re traveling next. And Sue is the best at the front desk.  I highly recommend this dentist office!!!

My family has been going to Dr. Emery’s for decades (yes decades)!!  My father went to this family practice when Dr. Doug’s father was running the joint, and now our entire family are very happy clients.  Dr. Doug and Dr. Alyson are great dentists, and let’s be honest, I am not a fan of dentists.  Everyone in my family love our hygienists–Kaylin has been mine since the beginning and now she takes care of my husband as well. We love her!  If you call for an appointment you’ll more than likely speak with Sue who is amazing and more than accommodating.  Honestly I can’t speak highly enough of the staff, which I am lucky enough to call dear friends. Really all I can say is if you’re looking for a dentist, please give them a try.  You won’t regret it!

We moved our children from their pediatric dentist many years ago to start going to Emery & Emery as a family, and it was one of the best decisions we have made. Everyone at this office is kind, welcoming, attentive, and they make you and your children feel right at home. I used to have trepidation when going to a dentist, but I’m honest when I say that I have no worries at all when stepping into the office. They are so competent, skilled and advanced.  They  are also communicative and help you to feel completely comfortable during any procedure. Their work is top-notch.

After many physically, emotionally and financially awful visits to dentists, I found Drs. Alyson and Doug.  The dentistry is outstanding; both Alyson and Doug have extraordinary people skills in addition to excellent technical skills. Marie is the best hygienist anyone could want.  The practice is very well run, and it is striking how friendly and efficient everyone is at Emery & Emery.  Good service is a rarity in so many places these days. I’ve been to many dental/medical offices over the years, and this one stands out as being the best.  Friendly, efficient service you can count on each and every visit. Went today for my semi annual cleaning. As always, I got the best care & service. Have to see an oral surgeon and Sue called over and got the appt for me. Also, while there I asked for a donation of toothpaste, brushes or floss for our church to send to the troops and give to our homeless friends. I walked out with 120 tubes of toothpaste!! Thank for being such a great team and for truly caring about your patients and others.
