After last week’s dental visit, I feel the need to update my review of Cathy Santone, DDS. I really can not say enough great things about Cathy, her beautiful office, and her excellent staff. As far as my dental needs go, I have hit a trifecta. The office recently moved to the west side of the building which means patients and staff get to enjoy the glorious sunsets every afternoon. During this process, they made a massive upgrade to their space which now includes an open layout, comfortable reclining chairs with large Smart TV monitors at each station and a modern interior design. As a person with a healthy set of chompers, I have never needed any cosmetic surgery, crowns or root canals. I am not what you would call a profitable patient, just dental cleaning and a few cavities. The hygienists at this dental office are so skilled at cleaning teeth that I can barely feel their instruments, but after they are done my teeth feel so clean.

Dr. Cathy Santone is an exceptional cosmetic dentist who treats all her patients with the utmost care and respect. She is an artist in her own right. I just finished treatment which included the Clear Correct invisible braces and some cosmetic bonding. I have a whole new smile which has boosted my confidence tremendously. I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff. One thing I have to add is that every time I went in to the office Dr. Cathy always asked about my children and what was new in my life. Not only is she the best dentist I have ever had, she is a genuine, caring person.

Ok, going to the dentist isn’t a fun activity, but my dentist and her staff are awesome. She has been our family dentist for years. Cathy invests in her business by purchasing the most modern equipment and technology. I haven’t used her for any cosmetic dentistry but I have looked at all the amazing pictures she has in her office. Her work is outstanding and she has a natural talent. Dr. Megan is on staff and I would also highly recommend her. All the hygienist take great care and time to do an outstanding job. You will always feel welcomed and treated with gentle care. If you are thinking about making a change or in need of a dentist this office would make an excellent choice.

Dr. Cathy saved my front teeth this week by removing the old composite from when I chipped my front teeth as a 3rd grader…I still don’t know whom it was that crashed into me from behind and face first onto the ground, but my face lost to the cement. However, Dr. Cathy removed the composite from the back of my front teeth and they feel smooth again for the first time in 30+ years. Plus, my gums were receding away from the shards of composite on my teeth and creating a “dark triangle” between my front teeth. I call it the ” Bermuda Triangle” because all types of food gets lost in there! Fortunately, Dr. Cathy’s procedure removed the irritating composite shards and my gums are already moving down to cover the “dark triangle” between my front teeth after only 2 days!! All I wanted for Christmas was my 2 front teeth and now they are almost fixed!!! In addition, it likely saved me a periodontal surgery on my gums, which is another New Year ’19 gift ! Dr. Cathy Santone and Dr. Dietz are extremely knowledgeable and professional about helping their patients with any dental or cosmetic dental care needs! I’m so thankful to their entire staff too for being courteous and helpful. Karen and Nicole are always in a good mood and excellent at their jobs as dental hygienists, which is why they always take good care of me.

By far the best dentists in North County and that’s not an exaggeration. I’ve had lots of dental work (Extractions, crowns, root canals) and braces when I was young and hated going to any dentist because pain was always involved even with the so called great dentists. The opposite is true with Dr. Megan & Dr. Kathy. It’s like going to the spa for a massage. I actually love going to the dentist now. Crowns fit first time every time and they have all the most up to date equipment. I never thought I could ever say that. If your dentist causes you pain get up and leave and call Dr. Dietz or Dr. Santone and you will thank me for the rest of your life.

I went to this establishment to get my cold sore lasered last year. It was an emergency and upon looking for alternative healing methods for this issue , I happened upon Cathy. Since it is such a quick treatment and time sensitive they squeezed me in immediately. I went in for three consecutive days and by the third the monster on my face was miraculously almost completely healed. I did not get another breakout for a whole year I suspect due to the treatment but when it did happen again I called the office as son as they opened. Again, I was fit in the schedule in a few short hours. Everyone was so kind and witching three days I didn’t have to hide from the world. I am sooo grateful I found them and this laser!!!

Dr. Santone is the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure to go to. I am a current patient of hers and have seen her for more than 5 years. I drive from San Diego to Encinitas and it’s definitely worth it because of all the personal attention and caring staff, detailed dental work by Dr. Santone, and the BEST dental cleaning I have ever had in my life by the dental hygienist Bonnie and Jodi (totally thorough cleaning compared to other dentists or dental hygienists who just do some cleaning but don’t get right in there to clean your teeth). I know that Bonnie and Jodi are perfectionists at getting every crack and corner of your teeth in order to make your dental cleaning complete. Dr. Santone is a great dentist who is meticulous and does it very well, and on top of that, her cosmetic dentistry is the best of the best. She is passionate about bringing you the best smile and teeth. My story is that I had formerly 2 crowns (non-porcelain) that were done 15 years ago and had yellowed throughout the years. The 2 crowns were darker than the rest of my teeth and my smile looked awful in person and in photographs. I decided to do something about my smile and looked around at dentists who had cosmetic accreditations like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Cathy is by far the best dentist that I have ever visited. I have been a patient here for about 10 years and have never had a bad experience. The quaint office is cozy and convenient, I like the fact that I do not have to go to a strip mall too. The comfortable lobby has reading material that I never read because they are prompt and I never have to wait. Let’s face it, dental visits are awkward. Sitting in a reclined chair with your mouth open is not familiar for most people. The hygenists here are so skilled that I can barely feel them when they clean my teeth and take the measurements. Actually I don’t even know when they take the measurements until after my exam when they tell me what they are. I have learned that pockets are no good, anything above a 3 seems to be reason for concern. Fortunately I do not have this problem, but if I did I would want to know about it before my teeth started to wiggle and fall out. Just knowing that they have my back makes me feel great trusting Cathy 100% with my dental health.

Dr. Cathy Santone is an accomplished cosmetic dentist who has practiced in Encinitas for the last 15 years. Since graduating from the prestigious dental school at UCLA, Dr. Santone continues to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry by attending 50 hours of continuing educational classes - almost the double the required time specified by the California Dental Board. Her practice strives to be environmentally friendly by using electronic dental records, digital x-rays and LED-curing lights. Dr. Santone belongs to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. Dr. Cathy Santone became an Accredited Member of the prestigious American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in February 2004. At the time, she was 1 of 10 in San Diego County and the only female in San Diego County, and 1 of 302 in the United States. Dr. Cathy Santone served as past president and as a board member of the Southwest Affiliate of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) in San Diego. As an Accredited member of the AACD, she has served as the committee chairwoman for the Membership Benefits and Recognition Committee and participates in the “Give Back a Smile” program in conjunction with the AACD. Dr. Santone is a founding member and mentor advisor for the San Diego Advanced Dental Study Group, an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club. She has been in private practice for over 18 years and enjoys spending time with her husband and nine-year-old son skiing and snowboarding, sailing and traveling.
