This is going to sound very strange to anyone who recoils at the movie “Marathon Man” but going to this dental office, and this dentist in particular, is actually fun!  Dr. Kniter always has a big smile and his sense of humor is contagious. His entire staff is fantastic; very professional and very personable. You feel like you’re among family. The best thing about Dr. Kniter and his staff is that they really know their stuff.  I’ve had several procedures there and he always places my comfort, concerns and safety at the forefront…he’s also very gentle…a good quality in a dentist.  I’m so glad I started going there at the recommendation of a friend, I never went back to my previous dentist.

Wanted to get my teeth cleaned and was referred by a friend. From the first call to the moment I left, I was treated with the upmost professionalism and care.  I spoke with Anahit, she was great, explained everything thoroughly and gave me the first available appointment (which I should mention was a Saturday, which made it so easy for me since I work weekdays .) When I went for my appointment, I didn’t have to wait more than 5 min to be seen which compared to a lot of other medical appointments I have been to, I had to wait for hours to be seen.  My dental Hygenist Azi was amazing, she explained the health of me teeth tooth by tooth which is unheard of! Also gave me the best cleaning I have gotten. Towards the end of my appointment the dentist Dr. Kniter came in and explained to me what he suggested that I needed to do for the health of my teeth.  What I loved most about this place was that they weren’t pushy to just get work done to make money, they actually cared to explain everything and give me suggestions and let me decide where-there I want to continue along or not.  This place was truly an amazing experience and I would recommend everyone to give them a try.  Staff is amazing, prices are great, work hours are convenient, and most importantly work is incredible!

Best dentist in all of la! Super caring, makes his patients extremely comfortable, unbelievably knowledgeable, sensitive and overall makes coming to the dentist the best experience!  I’ve never left without a smile! He’s even been able to help me with headaches because of his ability to foresee issues! He also suggested I get my eyes checked and I found out I needed glasses! Literally trust him more than my general doctor!!

Honestly, this had to be the best dental experience I’ve ever had! I came to the office in pain. I left with a prescription and a plan. My next visit was the procedure. Every step of the process was explained in detail. There were no surprises. Thank you Encino Smile Design for being so professional and handling my emergency with the utmost care. Dr. R. Dr. Roman Knitter and his wife Vesna Are The BEST………..Excellent Dentist, One of the best I have ever been fortunate to have been refereed to after my Dentist retired. Competitive but reasonable prices! Beautiful office with a Great view from their third floor Suite in Encino. Balboa and Ventura Blvd….CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS ABOUT DR. ROMAN KNITTER!!!!!!!! We were referred by a coworker after a terrible experience with a local dentist. Long story short my husband ended up with a horrible infection and had to be hospitalized. Dr. Knitter handled his aftercare and was able to address other issues and stay ahead of any potential issues. He has handled my whole families dental needs with professionalism, care and attention. He knows his stuff and we make the 53 mile drive one way because he is the only one we trust with our teeth! We love the Encino smile team! They are always welcoming and friendly! We highly recommend to anyone!

Encino Smile Design is the best dentist office in the valley. They are very accommodating, they offer late weekday and weekend appointments. The staff is incredible!! I don’t normally write reviews but i had to show my gratitude to this amazing dental office. I have been going to Encino Smile Design for 10 years and I could not have asked for a more professional, patient, skilled and caring dentist than Dr. Roman. The quality of his work is unmatched and what he was able to do with my teeth is nothing short of a miracle.. His lovely wife, Vesna, who you will often see at the front desk, is also a truly kind and genuine person who will go out of her way to ensure a great experience for you. Words cannot express my full gratitude to this wonderful family and all the time and effort that went into creating my smile… I highly recommend anyone who is looking for short or long term dental work to call now and make an appointment at Encino Smile Design. You will not be dissapointed.

I must admit I HATE GOING TO THE DENTIST. The sound, the xray pictures, the whole 9 yards. HOWEVER, when I met Dr. Kniter and Vesna OMG they are honestly the perfect duo for an office. Doc has the lightest hands when it comes to your mouth. He even did a root canal on me and my daughter without a shot or numbing gel. And Vesna at the front desk is always so caring and understanding and ALWAYS accommodates you. They are definitely not your typical 9-5 office. They are open late and on Saturdays. What doctors are open on weekends or late nights. I also just had my cleaning done by Bahar. (I might not be pronouncing her name right but shes the sweetest hygienist.) Very educated about everything. And explains EVERYTHING very thorough. THANK YOU ENCINO SMILES DESIGN FOR ALWAYS GIVING ME GREAT CARE.

Why can’t I give them 10 stars? They earn it! We have only been with them a few months after our dentist of 20+ years couldn’t accommodate our new insurance! I wish we’d known them 20 years ago! Dr. Kniter isprofessional with excellent client care! His staff is warm and welcoming. The hygienists educate while cleaning The entire staff make you feel that your business is appreciated and your dental health matters to them. I am so thankful that we’ve found them

5 stars is not enough for these folks. From the Office Manager, to the Hygenist, to Dr Kniter…PERFECTION!!!! Everyone is so good at their job, and everyone is so nice:):) My tooth filling fell out a few weeks ago, and this morning I had an appt to get it fixed, and a cleaning. ENDED UP with a wisdom tooth extraction and a cleaning. My entire life, I have had an intense, deep fear of having a wisdom tooth removed. Like totally irrational, and actually rationalized living w the pain, rather than dealing with the procedure. Dr Kniter at Encino Smile Design is amazing. Not only did he calm all of my nerves, without sedatives…but he is quite possibly the best Dentist I have EVER been to!!! Just perfect. Perfectly communicative, explains thoroughly, and MOST IMPORTANTLY…IT DIDNT HURT ONE MOTHER F-ING BIT!!!!!!! Yes, I had a few local shots, and yes, I felt the pressure…but son of a bitch…it truly, honest to goodness, did not hurt:)

Dr. Roman has been working on my teeth since the early 90s(since I was a child). All anxiety and fears are put to rest as soon as you meet him. Extremely gentle, very caring with your pain levels, and super knowledgeable. There’s nobody I’d rather have work on my teeth and my kids will always go to Dr. Roman first! Highly recommended!!

Dr. Kniter and his staff are great!  Very professional, and actually care about their patients, and their budget!  We left our last longtime dentist because, the last couple visits, the dentist just couldn’t get out of the room fast enough!  He use to be cool.  So we found ESD and never looked back!  Dr. Kniter, is the only dentist my family and I will use and trust.  Even my mom is very happy with them.

I stopped going to the dentist for 2 years since I didn’t have any cavities for as long as I could remember so I thought I would not have an issue with them. I was wrong to do that but money was tight anyways. I came to have a check up finally since my cousin kept telling me to get a cleaning. I came in and had my X-rays taken, and was told that I had a lot of build up. I didn’t believe how much buildup I had until I saw the pictures.. They took pictures and showed me a bunch of old fillings that I had and I realized that the sensitivity that I had in one of my teeth was being caused by a broken filling. :(. Dr. Kniter came to my rescue and did me the huge favor of replacing my old fillings for new ones. They worked with me even though I didnt have dental insurance. I had been told that I needed crown, but apparently apparently that tooth with the old filling just needed to be refilled. So happy to know I didn’t have to spend so much money on my teeth. I love my new dentist.

Best dental office I’ve been to yet. Doctor Roman Kniter handles his clients with such warmth, exceptional care, and technical expertise. I’ve gone to his office for teeth cleanings to fillings. Even his hygienists, receptionists, and rest of his team are extremely helpful, super friendly, and amazing at what they do. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to ESD for 11 years and this review is long overdue. I came in after 20+ years of neglecting my teeth; they were a mess. (Yes, I am a dental chicken.) Dr. Roman patiently work through my options in terms of treatment and price. The multi-year course of procedures (root canals, bridge, bone grafts and implants) have brought me back to a fully functional mouth. As a bonus I no longer fear the dentist.

I have been going to Encino Smile Design for years. The hygienists are great, painless. They are always on time. The receptionists are so friendly and professional. Dr. Kniter is the best, never pushes you to do things he doesn’t think are immediate. Hes’ always friendly and no matter how busy the office is he never seems rushed.

I cracked a filling and needed a quick and reliable repair done ASAP. I was referred to Smile Design by a coworker. Their friendly service team was able to get me an appointment that same day! Dr. Kniter did a great job. I didn’t feel a thing and left his office with a health/clean smile on my face. I will definitely be going to Smile Design for all my dental needs going forward.

I came to this office for a second opinion. I had just gone to a different office and they told me I had 3 cavities. Having no insurance, made me wonder because I could not see anything on the xray, and I felt pressured to get the fillings done. I heard from my coworker that this was a good dentist so I came to check it out without telling them that this was for a 2nd opinion. To my relief, I was happy to know that my SO CALLED CAVITIES WERE just stains. They even used this machine to double check a bunch of stains I had. I drink a lot of tea and coffee. My first impression was of the waiting area. Nice, clean, comforting and welcoming. Apparently they have their own insurance as well, so I was happy to know that I could actually have dental insurance through them 🙂 Once getting in I realized that it had a pretty nice view of the boulevard (Ventura). The assistants are very friendly, not to mention the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. By far, the hygienist who saw me was the most informative hygienist I have ever had. I learned more about teeth and gums from this dental office than all my other visits to other dentists. Luckily I had no cavities, and was informed of my excessive brushing on my gums. I basically realized that Ive been doing it wrong all along. I won’t be going anywhere else from now on.

For anyone in the San Fernando Valley who needs an all-purpose Dentist, Encino Smile Design, and Dr Roman Kniter should be your ONLY stop! The entire staff is professional, attentive, personable and sweet. Dr Kniter is very professional, takes the time to explain in detail any concerns or issues, he clearly explains your treatment options, and is both witty and funny to boot! You may even catch him humming along with the piped in music, but we both agree he should keep his Day Job in Dentistry! 😉 I highly recommend him for anyone who needs Dental Care.

Hands down, this is the best Dentist ever!!! The office is so warm and inviting, but also really cool and hip.  You don’t feel like you’re at the Dentist, at all.  The view is lovely and the husband/wife team of Dr. Roman and Vesna is even lovelier!  I feel extremely well taken care of when I’m there, all the way down to never having to wait in the lobby. The knowledge from Dr. Roman and his staff is so superior to a regular dental office.  You don’t realize how bad other places are, until you see how good this place is. Seriously! I  trust him 100%.   He always makes me laugh and I routinely leave there with a big smile.  How many other dentists can you say that about?!?!  If you haven’t been to his office yet, please make your next appointment now.  I guarantee you’ll be glad you did!

I came to this clinic and did not regret a bit! I had severe inflammation of the tooth, the doctor prescribed me antibiotics and after 6 days pulled out a tooth. It was not painful at all, although I was very afraid! I’ll come here to treat all my teeth and will recommend it to friends and relatives! Thanks a lot!

The Kniter’s are awesome. Vesna is so personable and goes out of her way to help with insurance issues. Dr Kniter is great. I am not a dentist fan and actually enjoy going!!! He is gentle with the novacane, the worst part for me, and does wonderful work! The hygienists are friendly and my teeth always feel wonderfully clean!!! I and extremely sensitive teeth and gums and they never cause pain!!! Highly recommend!!!

Dr.Knitter and his staff are so friendly! I was referred to him by a friend and I was not disappointed. They were able to take care of my dental care and even fixed my chipped tooth. I can now smile with confidence. I use to hide my mouth for shame of my chipped tooth. Now I feel  happy and confident. Dr. Knitter provides great care and honesty. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family!

We’ve been going to this office from Valencia. And it definitely worth it. The stuff is nice and it feels like family. The service they provide is good quality and very reasonable. They don’t recommend unnecessary procedures like some other dentists. Best dentist in town!

This place is so wonderful!! Appointments via text messages. Knowledgeable, kind, compassionate staff. They really know what they are doing and made me feel so calm during the process. I came in there wondering whether the crown I needed or the price was going to be more painful and I walked out feeling so relieved! You guys… I can’t recommend this place enough. I really feel taken care of. My cleaning was supposedly be just a light cleaning but Bahar sat down with me and walked me through every step from how to brush to which toothbrush to use. She wasn’t judgy about the awful state my mouth was in. She was SO knowledgeable and so good at what she did. Dr. Kniter was very thorough and it helped a lot that he patiently walked through and explained what needed to be done. I highly recommend them.

This is definitely a family owned business and one of the sole reasons I keep coming back- Dr. Knitter and his entire team make this office magical! Encino Smile Design was recommended to me by a friend, and even though their office is 20-45 minutes away from my house in traffic, they are worth the drive. I like the no-nonsense attitude of Dr. Knitter (he tells it like it is, be ready) and the oral hygienists are all super gentle and sweet. My latest cleaning with Kathy and Orly was done very well, especially as my teeth and gums were in dire need. I’m forgetting names, but everyone in the office front the minute you check in to when you’re finished is charming and really takes the scary feeling away of visiting the dentist. Their pricing is fair and the work is superb. I definitely recommend Encino Smile Design.  !
