I had an accident which impacted 2 teeth about 20 years ago. I tried to avoid the root canal procedure due to negative experiences shared by my family member and a friend. The discomfort and pain continued so I visited Dr. Yu who is a very knowledgeable and competent. He conducted a thorough examination and identified the bacteria infection which warranted an immediate root canal procedure. During the examination, he was very patient to answer all my questions and explained the details to ease my concerns and fear. He conducted the root canal skillfully and I did not feel any pain or even discomfort during and after the procedure. Although I am not familiar with certain terminologies regarding the infection, procedure, etc., Dr. Yu was able to communicate the details very well in Mandarin. Dr. Yu’s patience, professional care, and multi-language skills in English, Chinese, and Taiwanese and friendly staff are the reasons why I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs endodontics treatment!

I just had a root canal done by Dr John Yu. The whole experience was really pleasant. I liked how Dr Yu made sure that i was comfortable and well taken cared of throughout the entire process. The prices he charged me were very reasonable. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. I had to have a repeat root canal because the bridge fell out and the root canal was infected again. Fortunately, my dentist referred me to Dr. Yu. I received first-class service from EndoCare Center. Dr.Yu’s office is modern and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve been prolonging a root canal until couple days ago I had constant pain all night so I couldn’t wait any longer. I was hesitant because almost all yelp reviews are bad reviews for dentist. My dentist Dr. Kris Murakawa recommended me and I trust he whole fully so I scheduled an appointment with Dr. John Yu. He asked me some questions about pain I am in and got me in next day. Went over everything and best case and worst case scenarios. Pros and cons of everything and showed me exactly how much it would cost and I even paid before which is nice since you know there shouldn’t be any hidden charges. Went quick and painless and during the procedure he kept asking if i feel pain which I did not. All the staff was very friendly and place and equipment looked very new and clean. During these stressful times of COVID19 I would say you wouldn’t have to worry coming here. If anything bad happens I will update review but I doubt that. Thanks again for everything! Also I was hesitant of Sherry’s review but I looked she complains about everything mostly.

This was by far the best dental experience I’ve ever had. I know I am possibly one of the worst patients a dentist can have because of my extremely sensitive gag reflex, but Dr. Yu and his staff were very accommodating throughout the entire process. I had many complications with a cracked / chipped tooth and Dr. Yu was extremely patient and explained the entire procedure. I discovered I had an impacted tooth underneath the chipped tooth. My general dentist did a partial pulpotomy (essentially a half root canal) and I started to grow skeptical of my general dentist’s work since my brother started complaining of pain and he visited a specialist and was told that the general dentist’s work was outdated. So I kind of confirmed that with Dr. Yu. Its already been three months and I think the root canal was already starting to decay/rot/get infected. Dr. Yu told me that it was possible that the impacted tooth wasn’t even in the root canal and is simply resting against it but it wouldn’t be possible to know until a full root canal was attempted. I really hate getting things done but it was pretty painless this time around. My mouth was numbed with a series of shots. They put a rubber dam around my tooth/over my mouth to isolate it. It felt weird at first but I got used to it… turns out its an amazing invention. Having the rubber dam on meant no specks of amalgam flying into your mouth and making you gag… or disgusting bleach getting stuck at the back of your throat and then gagging and accidentally swallowing some (both things that have happened to me in the past). Also somehow even though they weren’t invasive at all with suction tubes, my mouth was completely dry. I’ve had problems with saliva build up with my general dentist even with their invasive suctioning. The whole procedure was painless and felt like it really flew by even though it really took about an hour. Dr. Yu explained what he did and what to expect afterwards. His staff even called to check up on me. This guy is great at what he does and I’ll be sure to refer him to my friends who might be in need of an endodontist.

Came here for root canal re-treatment, after having done my initial root canal procedure years ago at a different office. Before deciding on re-treatment, I had consultations for an apicoectomy and dental implant, but went with the re-treatment since there was possibility of saving the tooth. I recently had my 6 month follow up visit, and so far so good. Dr. Yu and the staff were professional. It was easy to make appointments through phone or text. And they’re timely in responding when I had follow up questions.

I was referred to Dr. Yu’s office by my new dentist. The ling term plan formy dental work started with a root canal and that’s why I’m here. First visit with Dr. Yu and I was extremely nervous. Not a fan of dentists. But after talking to him we decided a root canal was the right move and he fit me in that same day I was so well taken care of from the moment I walked in the door. Paperwork was ready and easy to take care of. Xrays were a piece of cake. Consult with Dr Yu was simple, thorough and he listened to all of my concerns. So glad I found Endocare !!! I was originally referred to another office for a root canal and explained I was in a lot of pain. They said the soonest they could see me was 2 weeks later. So I asked for another referral and was sent to Endocare. They were willing to take me in that same day(unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it), so they scheduled me for a consultation the very next day. I went in for consultation and was in a lot of pain. The Endodontist was very easy to talk and understood my concerns and wanted to help me especially because I was in a lot pain. I was able to come back that evening for a root canal. The staff is very nice and constantly checking to see how you are feeling and if you are feeling any pain etc … The next day they reached out to me asking how I was recovering, that was a first for me! This is the 2nd time I have had dental work at Endocare. The first time was for a root canal in 2017. The 2nd, was for an apicoectomy on another tooth just this week, January 6th, 2020. I was very nervous both times but Dr. Yu and his staff were so gentle, they put me at ease. Everyone at Endocare is very kind, pleasant and caring. They respond to all questions and concerns promptly esp. the aftercare questions that I have texted them about. Another endodontist had done my three molar root canals from two years ago and unfortunately was no longer answering his phone. I was having some pain underneath the crowns. My dentist referred me to Dr. John Yu. He skillfully identified that my bite was misaligned causing extra pressure to be exerted on the tooth roots and did an adjustment on the three crowns which were high. He also saw potential decay under the crowns on radiograph. I will follow up with my dentist on that. The pain has lessened from the procedure. If I need a root canal done, I would trust Dr. Yu to perform the surgery.

Dr. John Yu is the most professional and responsible endodontist I’ve ever met. Before I visited him, I had two other dentists to take the X-ray and checked on my #10 tooth. But neither of them can have such an acute insight as Dr.Yu. In addition, the way of his consultation made me worry-free and have total trust in him. Endocare Center is the place to get a root canal, I came in to get a consultation with Dr. Au on my UL tooth because my dentist said i might need a root canal. I had questions… why i needed treatment, if i was not in pain. What i didn’t know was that i had infection on the tooth. Dr. Au explain to me the cause and she also answer a few questions i had about my tooth. Dr. Au was very nice and understandable. I didn’t have to pay a lot of money like other endodontist that charge for consultation $115 and a separate fee for root canal. I only paid for the root canal. Dr. Au was very gentle when she was putting anesthesia and afterwards i didn’t feel a thing. The staff was very nice as well.

The office is in the 2nd floor of the building. I like this office! They offer very polite and nice services, and highly professional treatment for root canal! They texted me beforehand, telling me what paperwork I need to prepare, and reminded me before the appointment. Dr Yu saved my tooth by fixing a bad root canal I did in the past. About 2 years ago I had the worst pain and I went to two dentists. They both didn’t find anything and disregarded my pain. I finally went to my regular dentist and he referred me to Dr. Yu. Dr. Yu was able to get to the root (pun intended) of the problem! Even though root canals are not fun, this is probably one of the top experiences of going to a dentist. I like that the procedure and charges were clearly explained in advance, and they paid attention to small details to ensure comfort, such as a thorough numbing procedure, a large dental bib, and a protective eye shield for the patient. I have had the worst experiences with dentists ever since I was a child. That being said, I have neglected caring for my teeth for quite a while and finally gathered the courage to find a good dentist and get on track with my oral hygiene. Needless to say, I needed a root canal and was referred to Dr. Yu. He made me feel very comfortable, he was not judgemental, just very direct and to the point. He made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. I do not have dental coverage, but the self pay price was very reasonable. I was referred to Dr Yu for a root canal procedure due to some insurance issues at my primary dental office. I dreaded the notion of going to someone else to perform major dental work on me, but let me just say that Dr Yu and his staff are just every bit professional and caring as the people at my primary dentist. During consultation, Dr Yu explained to me very clearly what the situation was with my tooth and the procedure. I thought I was only going in for a consultation and I would have to reschedule for the work but he said he was ready to begin right away. Root canals for me have always come with a little discomfort even at my primary office because I’ve been told I have long roots, as Dr Yu also mentioned. When drilling time came he made sure I was as comfortable as possible and asked me if I was ok every once in a while. let me start with the fact that a had a general dentist that supposedly did root canals and crowns. so, i booked an appt and for 8 LONG HOURS with my mouth open 4 hours at a time….she dug and dug and dug into my gums! she could not find the third canal and booked me for another 4 hours!!!! i was sitting in the chair waiting for her and i freaked out…i just COULD NOT sit there for another 4 hours while she poked me with needles!!! i jumped out of chair and left. my brother referred me to John Yu DDS a specialist. of course it was expensive because he is a specialist in root canals…and i was already freaking out. this dentist looks like he just got out of med school…but he didn’t…just looks very young. anyway…everything went smooooothly….no pain, no excessive torture…he knew what he was doing and finished the root canals!!! thank god…a great experience. i want to say he has a fantastic assist name Iris. she is excellent at her job…very knowledgeable and reassuring! she was a great comfort to me. I was referred to Dr. Yu for a consultation for a root canal under a crown which had started to hurt and turned out to be infected. Dr. Yu and his staff were very professional and attentive, and took an x-ray to confirm the diagnosis and determined that I needed retreatment of the root canal. I set up an appointment, went in for the first visit, and went back to complete the procedure 2 weeks later. Everything went well, I had no pain or discomfort during the procedures (good application of local anesthetic), and they provided a sheet with clear post-procedure instructions. Everything went smoothly and without a hitch. A day later they called me to make sure I was doing alright (they put a temporary filling until I can go back to my regular dentist). It’s also a good thing that I got a text the day before each procedure asking me to confirm the appointments. I am very satisfied with the whole experience and would gladly recommend EndoCare Center.

Dr. Yu and his staff are wonderful! Dentist visits always scare me, especially I have heard people saying that root canal treatment would hurt a lot. First time I went in for consultation, Dr. Yu explained everything in details and answered all my question to make sure I understand the whole procedure. Second time I went in for the treatment, at first I was so nervous and scared, but the staff and Dr Yu were very patient with me and ensured me that it would fine and I wouldn’t feel anything after the anaesthesia injections. Unexpectedly, it really didn’t hurt at all! Mine was a tough case, so I had to go back in two weeks. Scheduling was easy and I love that they will send you text reminder a day before the appointment. And you can also change your appointment time by text which is very convenient!! Today, I went in to finish my treatment, again Dr Yu and his staff were super helpful and patient. They took the time to work on my teeth to make sure everything looks good. And even now after the anaesthesia wore off, my teeth doesn’t hurt or bother me at all! My fiance was referred here by his dentist for a root canal. He was in a lot of pain but Dr. Yu and his staff made him feel really comfortable and he was able to do the consultation and treatment the same day.
