I wanted to say thank you to Dr. Scott Fine who did pro-bono work for my dad with all the crazy language barrier, the office and the doctor always had a cheerful and friendly attitude. For those that don’t know, my parents are Ukrainian refugees, left everything in Ukraine and came here on May 7th with one suitcase to their name. Dr Fine saw my dad quickly and agreed to do pro-bono work, while many doctors I contacted wanted to charge full price for their work. If you need dental work, Dr FINE is awesome!!

I’d like to take a moment to recommend Fine Dental for anyone in NYC in need of dental services. Dr. Scott Fine takes great care of his patients with hi-tech, sanitary equipment, coupled with strong office cleaning protocols. His office is intimate and filled with artwork, unlike some of the more drab, corporate establishments in the city. Shoutout to their fantastic hygienist, Effy! She is thorough, passionate about teeth, and makes great conversation to boot. What a pleasant respite from this amazing but hectic city. Indeed, the whole team listens to your individual dental needs and won’t push anything on you that you don’t want. Do not hesitate to visit Scott and his team for excellent dental care in NYC!

★★★★★

Dr. Fine was warm and friendly. He took the time to greet me upon arrival and get to know a little about me as a person. He also examined me after the cleaning was complete and even gave some recommendations for “off the beaten path” nature experiences near the city. The staff was happy and communicated well. The entire office was a relaxed and welcoming environment. I will definitely be getting my dental care here moving forward

I’ve hated going to the dentist my entire life. I have an intense fear and terrible anxiety every time I have to go. I have finally found a place and Dr that give me comfort and take away (most) of my fears. Dr. S is such a joy to be around and makes you feel so comfortable and gives you undivided attention. Her and her entire staff are all so accommodating and sweet. Thank you for everything!

Dr. Scott Fine was recommended to me by a co-worker. He’s a young dentist, who’s office is conveniently located across from Bryant Park in a high-rise building. His staff is professional, friendly, and efficient. The office is clean, updated, and modern (all rooms feature digital xray machines). I had a soft spot on my tooth, and instead of trying to “sell” me a cavity, he told me to continue to use Flouride daily and assured me he would watch my cavity over my next several visits; most shady dentists would try to sell a filling. But this guy is honest, and I’ve been recommending him to all of my friends. My only advice is to get an appointment AFTER 9:30AM. Dr. Fine tends to stroll into the office around 9:30, so if you like to have the first appointment (8:40), you may be waiting to see the dentist after your cleaning for up to 30 minutes.

I am truly amazed by the few reviews for this business and utterly ashamed it took me this long to write one myself… Dr. Fine was also recommended to me by a co-worker about 3 years ago and I couldn’t be more pleased. In the few years I have been going there I have received dental care from Dr. Fine and Dr. Salehezadeh (don’t worry if you can’t pronounce it, you can just call her Dr. S). Anyway, they are both amazing! Where do I begin? I can say that their offices are clean and their staff is friendly, but even more important, they make me feel like they have my best interests at heart. I have had a few cavities fixed and had to do deep cleaning to keep my gums healthy and their treatment has been flawless. I trust their services because they have not tried to fix things that don’t need fixing. The wait, if ever, is minimal. And If you do not have insurance, fear not. They are very considerate and will work with you on a payment plan if needed. Also, just FYI- they recently changed their office space to 265 Madison Avenue (entrance on 39th street), 3rd floor.

Dr. Fine is the best, truly. I’ve never written a review on Yelp before, but his practice is outstanding and worth the time to write a review. I recently moved away from NYC and regret that I can’t continue seeing Dr. Fine. I’ve lived in several cities and have seen a lot of dentists; it’s so hard to find a good one, and he is excellent. He knows what he is doing and works in a way that’s both friendly and efficient. The entire staff is very professional and extremely friendly. They’ve performed certain checks and brought up topics that I’d never gone over with other dentists before. I came to trust Dr. Fine and his staff completely. The doctor is also a really cool person, as a big bonus. He takes photographs (I think his wife might also be an artist?) and keeps interesting and tasteful pieces of art throughout the office. The reception area also doubles as a small art gallery, with work from people I assume are his friends. Another notable plus is that the music piped into the exam rooms is an actually decent-to-solid radio station. It’s such a pleasure, at a dentist’s office of all places, not to be subjected to the ‘easy listening’ slow death found almost everywhere else. Oh, and for those Midwesterners out there, Dr. Fine is from Wisconsin–which, in the opinion of someone who grew up there, helps to explain why he is so nice and down to earth. In short: go to Dr. Fine–he and his entire practice are awesome!!

Fine Dental operates at a level generally unattainable by most dental offices. Visits to the dentist are rarely, if ever fun. It’s just the nature of the visits. Dr. Scott Fine, whose focus on patient comfort, confidence and caring, combined with cutting edge techniques is a philosophy that has been instilled upon his entire staff, successfully. I needed a great deal of work done and to believe in my dentist. That He/she would see it to completion and that is exactly what you experience at Fine Dental. All lab work is performed in-house, a not so common business model that ensures timely and accurate work. Work that can be quickly adjusted if necessary eliminating the often long delays in completing dental work. The offices are modern, comfortable and spotless and includes a rotating art installation, art that is always quite good offering a nice distraction. As an aside, you should know that I commute into NYC For the sole purpose of seeing Dr. Fine. Good luck!

★★★★★

If I could give Dr. Fine 10 stars, that would be too few. I can’t say enough good things about his skill, dedication, and kindness. He has provided excellent treatment to several family members but what stands out is how he has gone above and beyond for my son. My teenage son had a significant mouth injury and Dr. Fine has handled numerous problems that arose from that injury with compassion and devotion. He has been incredible in coming up with different and creative solutions to my son’s dental issues. He has made himself available in times of crisis and has been a calming and steady presence. He is also a really nice guy. The staff in his office are also very kind and patient. He is very creative and takes pride in the artistry of the cosmetic work he does. The fact that he has a lab in his office means that the turn around time (e.g. temporary teeth) has been very fast. He is an excellent and talented dentist and a real mensch!

★★★★★

When I moved to NY, a co-worker recommended Dr. Fine’s office to me and I have now been going for several years. Both Dr. Fine and Dr. Salehezadeh are amazing dentist. They are extremely personable, take time to get to know you as a patient as well as assess your needs and desired outcome. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for an appointment. The remainder of the staff from the front desk to the assistants are just as good and friendly as Dr. Fine and Dr. Salehezadeh. I have recommended their office to several friends and everyone agrees, this is one of the best practices/combination of dentists out there.

★★★★★

Fine Dental provides excellent dental services. I have been a patient for over 15 years & have referred many people who have experienced the same ultra quality care. Additionally, the office personnel exceeds the routine services. The insurance specialist, Ania, has assisted with problematic insurance issues and has been extraordinary. I am so thankful for Scott & his dedicated staff.

★★★★★

Dr. Fine treated me when I had severe sensitivity to hot and cold. Apparently this is because I brush too hard too often. Dr. Fine took the time to sit with me and explained that he would be able to coat my teeth with a bonding material that would reduce the sensitivity. He is the most gentle, caring, and considerate Dentist I have ever been to. I did not feel rushed at all in fact many times his assistants would call him out of the room to try and rush him and he would say give me a minute – were not done here yet. It was a very different experience from what I was used to. I truly feel like I was taken care of. And best of all I have no more sensitivity there! I can now have an ice cold drink on these hot summer days! Thank you Dr. Fine. God bless you and your staff!

BACK IN 1993 my longtime NYC dentist was about to retire to Florida and an enthusiastic young Dr. Scott Fine was about to take over the practice. Upon being introduced, I immediately liked Dr. Fine’s approach to dentistry–he spoke of using the latest techniques and technology, yet he also seemed to have the soul of an artist. Instead of immediately looking elsewhere for a long-in-the-tooth replacement dentist, I decided to try Dr. Fine for an appointment or two and see how things worked out. Now–having been his dental patient for almost 25 years–it’s pretty clear that things have worked out very, very well. Over the years, Dr Fine has handled my occasional cavities, a root canal or three, extractions, crowns, and has installed laminates on some front teeth that have a completely natural look. He prides himself on crafting laminates that, like natural teeth, have slight almost imperceptible differences–and he decries the Hollywood-style laminates that look like a gleaming, perfectly uniform, row of Chicklets. I even have a “temporary” bridge he created for me in the late 90s to handle a yawning gap in some back teeth. At the time he said of this precarious bridge: “You might get a year or two out of it, John.” But, somehow, his ingenious bridge-building has survived for 15 years–and it’s still going strong. I have watched Dr Fine build his practice on the bedrock of skill, service, dedication, and fair pricing. As his business has grown he has brought in high-quality (and equally service-oriented) fellow professionals and staffers. He even has his own dental lab and skilled technician on the premises. And those premises may be unlike any dental “office” you’ve seen; the waiting room is a functioning art gallery with a regularly changing display of good art. But you won’t be spending much time in that waiting room. Having probably been to the Fine Dental offices 75 times (including regular dental cleanings) during our long relationship–I can testify that I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment; the average must be closer to 5 minutes. In addition to Dr Fine, I’d like to single out two members of this warm and attentive dental practice: First is Yilda Taveras the superb dental hygenist who has done my dental cleanings four times a year since forever. Those are appointments I truly look forward to–and the feeling of “clean” that I walk out the door with is an almost sensual pleasure (my tongue thanks me as it runs over the freshly de-plaqued tooth surfaces.) Second is Peter Ng, the Hong Kong-trained reflexologist who–by way of a 30-minute foot massage–can give you the feet of a teenage athlete. He maintains a small massage room as part of the Fine Dental Suite and is also available to give your feet a 10-minutes reflexology “boost” while you’re in a chair getting dental treatment in one of the offices. (Actually, I believe that new patients are given a 10-minute foot massage as a freebie on their first appointment.) I’d like to close this review by saying that Dr. Scott Fine is not only an outstanding professional and a valued member of the cadre of top-flight doctors whom I feel extraordinarily lucky to have in my NYC medical circle–but he is also someone I consider a friend. He’s that kind of a guy. I highly recommend Fine Dental to anyone who has read this far in this review. And if you decide to try an appointment, I’ll probably be seeing you around “the gallery” during the next decade or so. (And be sure to ask for the foot massage.) John Emmerling New York City

This team is welcoming and did an amazing job at cleaning my teeth!!! They were also accommodating financially to me bc I was paying it for myself. I hadn’t been to the dentist in a few years so was a bit uncertain on how my teeth were doing. They took x-rays, did a standard and in-depth cleaning, and Dr. Fine (his name is actually “Fine”) looked at my teeth and gave me recommendations on a tooth that has some trauma as a kid. Overall I super appreciate their work.

Four weeks ago, I was assailed by a horrible tooth pain and immediately sought the services of Dr. Sam Fine. After taking x-rays, Dr. Fine explained that I needed a root canal procedure which would require several visits. Make no mistake. I am a baby when it comes to pain and I imagined a protracted period of pain, blood and gore. But I am happy to report that I was completely wrong. From that initial visit, Dr. Fine was able to treat and eliminate all pain. His technical skill is remarkable and has made the entire process painless and, yes, actually, pleasant. Dr. Fine and his entire team in his office (from the Front Dest staff to his dental assistants/technicians) performed the small miracle of taking the pain and dread out of my dental procedure. Thank you, Dr. Fine for your compassionate and highly skilled treatment. I am grateful for your outstanding service.

Let’s face it – NOBODY likes going to the dentist. I was dreading my recently scheduled check up, but this morning’s visit deserves a glowing 5 star review. The office is beautiful and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. WFUV is playing in the background, gorgeous photography throughout the office and a complimentary 10 minute foot rub for first time patients (with the option to purchase massage time during future visits). The cleaning was thorough but gentle and Dr. Fine himself couldn’t have been nicer. This “dentophobic” will be going back within the next 6 months without issue…. today’s visit was about as pleasant as a dentist appointment can be.

Dr Fine and Dr S are 2 amazing dentists! I have been going to this practice for over 10 years and would recommend it to anyone. The staff is always soooo friendly, warm and conversational. They are very professional yet take the time to ask about your life as well. The brand new office space is beautiful and offers massages while you wait! Insurance is accepted but they also will work with you on a payment plan if needed. I hate having anything done to my teeth but I love Dr Fine and Dr S!

★★★★★

Dr Fine is the best dentist, with a true “family” practice where you feel very taken care of. I have been seeing him since 2008 when a coworker recommended him with massive enthusiasm. He has helped me through some fairly major dental problems, and I felt really confident in his abilities. He and even helped me via email when I had some dental issues while traveling overseas. Very trustworthy, kind, compassionate, professional, clean, knowledgeable … everything you could want in a dentist. I’ll never go to anyone else in NYC! Also … Dr Fine has invented his own toothbrush!!!

★★★★★

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Fine and his staff. It’s a shame that he does not have more than 5 reviews. I was refereed to Dr. Fine by a relative and i couldn’t be happier! I visited Dr. Fine after a nightmare at another dentist. Dr. Fine and his staff made me feel at home, they were and are always kind, attentive, friendly and 100% professional! Dr. Fine is not just a Dentist, he is an artist at play! He puts his heart into his work! (Your teeth) He does not push you to get anything that is not necessary. He is a Dentist you can trust! A Dentist that is really looking out for the best of his patients, I will always refer EVERYONE to him! He is ONE OF A KIND!!! AMAZING!
