Dr. Gamache has been my dentist for the 5 years that I’ve lived in San Diego. I could not be more pleased with the care I’ve received from everyone in his office. The staff is very efficient and professional. I particularly enjoy working with Rachel, the dental hygienist. Everyone is extremely affable and compassionate. When I came to San Diego from Chicago, Dr. Gamache was recommended to me by one of my clients who is a retired dentist. To be recommended to a new client by a retired colleague is a testament to Dr. Gamache’s level of expertise and skill. I’m very happy I found such a great dentist.

My visit with Dr. Gamache was to place 2 crowns. It was a lengthy process but since they do all the work in office, I didn’t have to go to a follow up visit at a later date to have the permanent crowns placed. The time spent in one day was well worth it. Dr. Gamach and his entire staff were friendly, personable and genuinely a happy group. Everyone expressed concern for my comfort throughout my visit and I had a very pleasant experience. Best of all, zero pain or complications the following day! I highly recommend Dr. Gamache and his staff.

Everyone in the office definitely impressed me from the front desk, the dental hygienist, the doctor himself, and all of the staff all together as a team made an impact on our visit. My son came in for his checkup right before starting kindergarten and everyone made him feel so welcome and special. They were so graceful and gave us a quote on his next procedure giving us options to separate the costs in between visits. After a vey tedious search on Yelp I finally found a dentist that the reviews we great and not nightmares! It took me 15 different searches! So I thought why not give them a try at a teeth cleaning. My back story is that my insurance changed a month ago making my regular hygentist and dentist or over 17 years $200 for a cleaning. I needed to find a trustworthy dentist that was in network. This was heart breaking because I’ve been with my other office for over 17 years. That’s what made this search even more stressful. The receptionist was very friendly, knowledgable and called back with confirmation that my insurance covered them right away. The hygentist Rachel was very gentle, knowledgeable, and very through. Everything you need and want in a hygentist. The doctor was friendly, smart, and also very through. My teeth were wonderfully clean, not one complaint here! After feeling so comfortable from my cleaning I went ahead and took their advice at getting my filling done. For not having a filling done in over four years I was very nervous having a new doctor do it. They make you feel so comfortable even giving you headphones to listen to. No filling is pleasurable of course, but the filling is the perfect color match, shape, and fits my bite perfectly. I highly recommend coming here as I just think I found my new dentist and team.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Gamache’s for several years. He is reasonably priced, no-pressure, thorough, easy-going, friendly, skilled, appreciative – with a great staff to match. He’s a young guy who is rather old-school in the best ways – with new technology. Living a couple hours away from his office, this level of care is worth going the distance.

I recently moved to San Diego and finding a good dentist is very important for me.  I have had a lot of dental work done over the years and in the process I have learned what to look for in a good dentist.  Dr Gamache and his team are great!  They have the latest technologies, and his dental hygienist was excellent. Since you see and spend more time with the hygienist than the doctor, the hygienist is equally important when choosing a dentist.  My teeth are super clean and she was really nice!   She didn’t give me a hard time for not flossing all the time.  Instead, she gave me suggestions on other ways to clean my gums that may work better for me.  Dr Gamache paid close attention to details, and was very knowledgeable. He didn’t seem to miss a thing.

I was very disappointed when I heard that Dr. First was retiring and not looking forward to trying out a new dentist.  However, having been to Dr. Gamache twice now, I can only sing his praises…he’s professional, engaging, caring and gentle on the mouth!  What more can you ask of your dentist?  I would highly recommend him and his staff for a great Dental experience and reasonable prices too…

Efficient, professional, love how they have some super early morning visits and weekend times too. Fixed a gap in my mouth with an invisible wire, excellent results 2 years out still. Very meticulous dental hygienists. They always give you a quote and work with your insurance too. And dr gamache is the best!!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Dr. Gamache and all his whole team are great. They make you feel so comfortable and at ease during all my procedures. I have terrible anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist and with the sedation treatment that they offer along with the incredible customer service I will not go anywhere else. They are so kind, caring and very sensitive to my anxiety. We reverently moved further away but I am still going to Dr. Gamache as I cannot imagine ever going anywhere else. My other family members have also started to go here based on my recommendations.

What an incredible group of people to be around! Let me just begin by saying everyone was very friendly there. Dr. Gamache is very nice and super empathetic! He knows and totally understands the feeling most people get when entering a dental office! EEEK! He made me feel very safe and helped me understand each step he was taking during the procedure. What I also appreciate about this dentist is that he truly cares about you. He cares to know about your weekend and your life in general which makes you feel like you are here to see a friend and not business! I also enjoyed the company of his hygienist Rachel! She has one of the best smiles I’ve seen. She also made me feel at home and made sure I was comfortable in her chair. I had a great time getting my cleaning and can’t wait to go back! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Love, love, love Dr. Gamache and his team! Everyone on the team is extremely professional yet personable. I’ve needed to make two unexpected visits since I started coming in, and I have always been seen as soon as humanly possible. I’ve also had two root canals with Dr. Gamache and team, which were relatively seamless and painless. I’ve only had the pleasure of interacting with Dr. Gamache, Alex and Emma who are always extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Gamache and Alex have great bedside manner. Dr. Gamache is very genuine and comforting – he always thoroughly explains what he’s doing and allows me to ask any questions that I may have. I am extremely grateful for the team who has helped me map out my dental plan, especially Emma who always confirms that my insurance will cover whatever procedures that I have. She also ensures that I know how much I will have to pay (if anything at all) before I come in for my next appointment. Also, their office hours are perfect because I can come in before or after work during the week, and they are very punctual.

I am very particular about dentists because I have a huge fear. Dr. Gamache is the best dentist ever. He is caring, skilled, never rushed and knows what he’s talking about. Both my husband and I both go there. There is never a long wait and the office is clean and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Gamache and his team.

Dr Gamache and his team were great. I have my twin boys (4 years old) get their first checkup. His team encouraged to me to take pictures of their first visit and we got to take pictures of the X rays. It was neat to see how the adult teeth were growing in. The boys were thrilled to be there and are asking to go back. We love the hours they have available. I am able to run this errand without missing work hours. So our whole family with be switching.

I’ve been in my fair share of doctors’ offices, but very few have the exceptionally friendly service of Dr. Gamache and team. From the second I walked in the door, I was treated as if I was family. Again, unlike other doctors (and dentists), Dr. Gamache completely took his time with me and was very attentive – not with his mind on his next patient/weekend/etc. I have very sensitive gums, so the dentist can be very painful, and I’ve bounced around a lot of them to try to find someone who understands the need to be gentle. He was very accommodating and, even though it still wasn’t a walk in the park, he made the experience as comfortable as he could. I’m glad to have found a dentist I’ll return to!

I am very grateful for ending up being seen today by Dr Gamache due to a mistake made by a different dentist in the same building. Not only my problem was solved and my front tooth is pretty, but I also got the chance to meet the most amazing staff ever- every single person seems to know what they’re doing and they are super super nice! I am very impressed with the quality of work that was done – the doctor is excellent! Thank you again!

I highly recommend Dr. Gamache who replaced the retired and kindly Dr. First. Dr. First wanted to be sure that whomever bought his practice was highly qualified and and one that his patients would like. He did just that. The staff is very competent, Emma at the front desk and Alex as Dental Assistant. Dr. Gamache is gentle and caring and highly qualified. He replaced a worn metal crown with a ceramic crown made on sophisticated computerized equipment in the office that meant only one appointment to get the crown. No pain. I am a senior with Invisalign braces that will improve my bite and prevent further misalignment. Dr. Gamache wears Invisalign so he had empathy for patients. Validated parking in the building is convenient. The office is centrally located in the Hillcrest neighborhood at Third and Walnut’

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Gamache. I never had Dr. First as a dentist so I can’t compare the two – I went to Dr. Gamache on a friends recommendation, not on Yelp. Personable, professional, relatable and best of all – definitely a gentle touch. I have had a long sordid history with the health of my teeth, ie a 4 year gap where I neglected to go to the dentist resulting in 14, yes 14 fillings in one year. That was rough – and my last dentist was so good, I would fall asleep during procedures – so you can definitely know – I appreciate the gentle touch. My past dentist being in Orange County, (and astronomically expensive) – I finally made the switch to a local dentist and I am glad I did! I also pay all of my dental work out-of-pocket because in the end I believe it saves me money – dental charges when I need it, not all year long in the just-in-case something happens. Now that I am more on top of my dental health, (every six months, come hell or high water) I have not had nearly as many problems. I also really value a friendly front desk. I got braces when I was 27 and worked with an Orthodontist who was fine and got the job done, but his front desk was remarkably terrible. I’ll have to go yelp that elsewhere, but that whole experience was terrible and I am very glad that Dr. Gamache’s front staff was quite the opposite! Very pleasant, professional, efficient and respectful. I do appreciate that Dr. Gamache didn’t bag on any of my past dental work – other dentists I’ve tried do that too. He seemed fair in his assessment of one problematic filling, but he wasn’t disrespectful of other people’s work. He also let me know there was time before it was a real problem and we’d keep an eye on it… no pressure or rush on that. Unlike the other reviews here, I was not upsold or pressured on anything. As far as the payment complaints, since I don’t have to deal with any insurance issues or changing rates or the insurance company fighting the doctor or vise versa – all the pricing seemed very fair, clear and up front to me. I’m sorry this review references so many previous bad experiences… but I am just so glad to find a reasonable, nice, professional local dentist after bad experiences at other dentists and one that actually seems as wonderful as my Dana Point dentist. I am so glad to have a reasonably priced local dentist I can trust in Dr. Gamache now!

I consistently have a great experience & highly recommend him and his friendly staff.  Their attention to detail of the work combined with the use of current technology and even taking the time to do follow-up has been impressive & appreciated. Beyond the routine stuff like cleaning and additional work over the last couple of years, I also had an emergency on Thanksgiving.  Dr Gamache returned the call immediately & the staff came in without hesitation to take care of me.  Whenever he makes recommendations I never feel pressured.  They’re an awesome group.  I’ve seen numerous dentists and can say with confidence that he’s a great choice.

On a scale of 1-10, a 25!!!!!!!! The Doctor is WONDERFUL, A to Z. He is a master clinician, as kind and sweet and compassionate as they come. I can’t rave about him enough. He and his staff have helped me to save my teeth from advanced periodontal disease, despite good diet/nutrition and brushing, flossing, use of water. Rachel, the hygienist, is STELLAR, and the staff wonderful as well, especially Alex and Emma. Thankyou so much to dr. gamaches team. I couldn’t have asked for a better office. After days of looking for a provider that was in network with my insurance, I finally found an office with great reviews and an accessible location. My expectations were definitely met and exceeded. Thanks to trish I was able to set up an appt on the same day since they had a cancellation. She called my insurance for me to make sure I wouldn’t pay out of pocket since I wasn’t prepared to pay a fee that day. It was covered so i went in and the hygienist did a cleaning and set me up for another deep cleaning, also covered, since I needed extra work done (haven’t visited a dentist in years). Everyone I encountered was super sweet and engaging, including Dr. Gamache. I am going back next week and I can’t wait! They have gone over a plan for my teeth and I will be returning a few times next year as well. So excited to finally be able to have someone take care of my teeth, especially such a lovely group of people! Many thanks guys!! Im very appreciative!

A friend recommended Dr. Gamache a while back and I thank her everyday for that! Dr. Gamache and his team are great caring professionals, they always try their best to make you feel comfortable, so you never dread your visit to the dentist anymore. Dr. Gamache is very gentle and patient, he takes his time to explain you the procedures his going to perform and why are the necessary,  which I think is great because who likes to have unnecessary expensive things done in their teeth?

I haven’t seen a dentist in over 6 years, since I moved here to SD.  My molar broke and finally had to choose a dentist.  I researched ones in and out of my PPO. I finally settled on Dr Gamache and glad I did. His reviews on here are accurate.  He does not have a big or pretentious office. But extremely nice and comfortable.  The staff are all courteous and friendly, and not to mention competent. I called for a new patient appt around noon and they could get me in at 4pm.  OK, that works for me.  After my cleaning, Xrays and exam, all which were certainly needed I went into his office and he explained the pictures of all my teeth and treatments offered. I decided to get a crown on my broken molar and they said they could get me in at 8am tomorrow.  Ok, that works for me too! So, in less than 24 hours, had initial exam and crown.  That’s what I call fast!  They also have options for patients with no insurance, including a 10% discount. I think I made a good choice.

Since I was a child, I’ve had a disinclination in going to the dentist. It has been over 10 yrs since my last visit to one. Needless to say, if I don’t need to go, I won’t, but I recently broke a big chunk of my teeth, so I had to go. Andrew Gamache was referred to me and I’m glad I went and saw him. He and his staff put me at ease, explained the procedures of getting crowns put in, and within several weeks, my teeth were fixed. I was so pleasantly surprised from the moment I walked in the door with a great greating and smooth initial appointment. Everyone from Dr. Gamache to his entire staff treated me as an important client and focused their attention on the best care, recommendations and consideration of how best to keep my teeth as healthy as possible. Virtually no one likes to have to have dental work done but Dr. Gemache and Team make it as good an experience as possible.

I had a significant level of tooth pain and my previous dentist was on vacation. Dr. Gamache was referred to me so I called his office after they gave me an urgent appointment. Dr. Gamache diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed the problem. I was very impressed with the level of care I received from him and his staff, and his fee was quite reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Gamache for any general dentistry needs.

I too was a patient of Dr. First before becoming a patient of Dr. Gamache. My transition from Dr. First to Dr. Gamache was very smooth since both doctors were very professional and the staff are extremely efficient, competent, and friendly. I have been a patient of Dr. Gamache for over a year now and I’ve always felt comfortable with him and his staff. Their rates are reasonable as well if you happen to use up your dental insurance. I’ve been going to Dr. Gamache since he took over from Dr. First and I’m very happy with the service, professionalism and level of care. Emma is still running the office and much of the same staff is there so the office retains the familiar touches, but Dr. Gamache – like Dr. First before him – continues to invest in new equipment and new techniques so I feel confident that I’m always benefitting from the best available care. PLEASE READ!! I have been going to Doctor Gamache’s office since he bought the practice from my previous dentist, Howard First; going on 5+ years Have continued my care with him throughout the years because he has always prioritized taking care of my teeth and always asks how I am doing in my personal life. Out with the old and in with the new technology has been his MO and it helps with office efficiency especially during x-rays and diagnosing any cavities! Having the option to be reminded through text messages when you haven’t been to the office in a while is another great way to stay healthy without an intrusive phone call His hygienist Rachel is top notch, she uses warm water during cleaning, how many other dental offices can claim that?! Did I mention how gentle her cleaning is? I literally hold off on solid food for as long as I can after an appointment because I love that pristine mouth feeling The rest of the staff including Alex and Tish are like family friends to me, I always look forward to seeing them whenever I visit The last mention of staff is Emma, she handles the front office by checking in patients, engaging with new potential patients AND billing all in days work from what I’ve seen during my quick appointments. Her customer service skills and multitasking has always been appreciated and her knowledge shows in the grey hairs she sports on her haircut! I have never had problems with quoting a procedure I’ve done and walk out confident that my insurance and the office of Dr. Gamache are as satisfied with each other as I am with my clean teeth all thanks to Emma TLDR: go to this office and try a new dentist if you’re looking for one! I always feel my best walking out. Front office staff does their very best to ensure no problems and the doctor will try to work with you, just ask!

Dr. Gamache is an excellent dentist with a great bedside manner. He listened to all of my concerns and remembers me from prior visits. His staff are very friendly, personable, and are knowledgeable about working with my insurance. The office is modern, well equipped, and nicely decorated. My husband had a broken tooth a day before our vacation to Hawaii. Dr. Gamache was able to make an emergency appointment to take care of it the same day. Dr. Gamache has my full confidence and loyalty as a life long patient.

Dr. Gamache is a nice man with gentle hands, and his staff are courteous and professional. The assistant that performs xrays and cleaning is very thorough yet I’ve never been stabbed, picked or poked by any instrument. Dr Gamache is our family dentist. Between us we’ve had gum problems, fillings, braces, tooth extractions, etc. What he can’t do he refers to specialists and they have been top notch also. We’ve had emergencies and were able to be seen without delay. I highly recommend Dr Gamache and his staff.

First, I’d like to say… this has been my fifth dentist in three years, I am rather particular about who is picking around in my teeth, and I get panicky when it comes to even cleanings, so when I saw the already five-star reviews on here and ZocDoc, I figured this would be a good practice to try. I cannot explain the relief I feel after going into this dentist’s office – and usually it’s the opposite. I had booked an appointment on ZocDoc and immediately got a phone call from Emma for insurance information, etc. She was so friendly and accomidating, so when I walked into the practice and the receptionist introduced herself as Emma, it was nice to put a face to the name, she is such a sweet woman with a very calming demeanor. They also have a scentair in the reception area with a very delicious sweet smell that also helped put me at ease. I had a little lengthy of a wait time, but I was a new patient and they were very honest and said they were running a tiny bit behind. When I got called back, I sat in one room and had my teeth photographed by Alex, who was also very friendly. This I think was one of the strangest things I have done in my life but it was cool to think they wanted actual photos and not just xrays. Then, Rachel came into the room and introduced herself. She was my hygenist. What a bubbly and smiley woman! I loved her sense of humor and how she was really honest with you while also being funny. She was very gentle while also feeling like your teeth are clean. Big plus for me! When Dr. Gamache came into the room he shook my hand and went over the norm – anything bothering you, etc, etc. But he actually took the time to answer my question and eased my panic about the possibility of getting my wisdom teeth removed. Overall, this experience was probably the best dental visit I have ever had, (even though I had three small cavities!) The whole team is a delight to be around and they were very patient and thorough with me… I can’t believe I’m saying this… but I can’t wait to go back to the dentist again! Hahaha

I was referred to Dr. Gamache by a coworker. I had been going to another dentist in San Diego but hated going to that office because it felt very cold and unfriendly and you never got the same hygienist. On top of it, they were very rough. However, Dr. Gamache and his staff are a refreshing change. They are punctual, professional, and friendly. They explain my insurance and dental options thoroughly and are so accommodating with my schedule. His whole team is careful and gentle, and this week I had to get 3 crowns on top of fillings, and I had no problems whatsoever (no pain or soreness). He can make your crown in the office, avoiding a secondary appointment. I have nothing but good things to say about this practice and the people that work there! I have already recommended him to my friends and family.

Been with these guys for years, back to the days of Dr. First.  They’re very courteous and professional.  Always a pleasure!  Their staff is very personable and they always remember me.  I appreciate most the fact that they aren’t crazy about upselling services, they let you know what they have, and leave it at that.  They also work great with billing and insurance issues, they’re always willing to work with me.  Excellent dentist!

i have been a patient of Dr. Gamache for many years, since he took over the practice from his predecessor. I have always felt that my dental needs and records are in best and skillful hands! I trust him completely, enjoy the calm practice environment, and I have high respect for his entire staff as well. I am a physician that does not have much time and Dr. Gamache’s staff facilitated a very quick check in, plowed through the insurance details without any stress, and I got an extremely thorough evaluation and treatment from Dr. Gamache! Not only did he spend a lot of time on my teeth, he explained everything he did very clearly. Because I’m getting married this weekend, he even gave me a complimentary teeth whitening treatment. I couldn’t believe it. He is a sincerely nice person and you can tell by the way he treats his staff as well. I will definitely be referring my patients with dental problems to him in the future.
