My visit with Dr. Gamache was to place 2 crowns. It was a lengthy process but since they do all the work in office, I didn’t have to go to a follow up visit at a later date to have the permanent crowns placed. The time spent in one day was well worth it. Dr. Gamach and his entire staff were friendly, personable and genuinely a happy group. Everyone expressed concern for my comfort throughout my visit and I had a very pleasant experience. Best of all, zero pain or complications the following day! Everyone in the office definitely impressed me from the front desk, the dental hygienist, the doctor himself, and all of the staff all together as a team made an impact on our visit. After a vey tedious search on Yelp I finally found a dentist that the reviews we great and not nightmares! It took me 15 different searches! So I thought why not give them a try at a teeth cleaning. My back story is that my insurance changed a month ago making my regular hygentist and dentist or over 17 years $200 for a cleaning. I needed to find a trustworthy dentist that was in network. This was heart breaking because I’ve been with my other office for over 17 years. That’s what made this search even more stressful. The receptionist was very friendly, knowledgable and called back with confirmation that my insurance covered them right away. The hygentist Rachel was very gentle, knowledgeable, and very through. Everything you need and want in a hygentist. The doctor was friendly, smart, and also very through. My teeth were wonderfully clean, not one complaint here! After feeling so comfortable from my cleaning I went ahead and took their advice at getting my filling done. For not having a filling done in over four years I was very nervous having a new doctor do it. They make you feel so comfortable even giving you headphones to listen to. No filling is pleasurable of course, but the filling is the perfect color match, shape, and fits my bite perfectly. I highly recommend coming here as I just think I found my new dentist and team.

I recently moved to San Diego and finding a good dentist is very important for me. I have had a lot of dental work done over the years and in the process I have learned what to look for in a good dentist. Dr Gamache and his team are great! They have the latest technologies, and his dental hygienist was excellent. Since you see and spend more time with the hygienist than the doctor, the hygienist is equally important when choosing a dentist. My teeth are super clean and she was really nice! She didn’t give me a hard time for not flossing all the time. Instead, she gave me suggestions on other ways to clean my gums that may work better for me. Dr Gamache paid close attention to details, and was very knowledgeable. He didn’t seem to miss a thing.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Dr. Gamache and all his whole team are great. They make you feel so comfortable and at ease during all my procedures. I have terrible anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist and with the sedation treatment that they offer along with the incredible customer service I will not go anywhere else. They are so kind, caring and very sensitive to my anxiety. We reverently moved further away but I am still going to Dr. Gamache as I cannot imagine ever going anywhere else. Love, love, love Dr. Gamache and his team! Everyone on the team is extremely professional yet personable. I’ve needed to make two unexpected visits since I started coming in, and I have always been seen as soon as humanly possible. I’ve also had two root canals with Dr. Gamache and team, which were relatively seamless and painless. I’ve only had the pleasure of interacting with Dr. Gamache, Alex and Emma who are always extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Gamache and Alex have great bedside manner. Dr. Gamache is very genuine and comforting – he always thoroughly explains what he’s doing and allows me to ask any questions that I may have. Dr Gamache and his team were great. I have my twin boys (4 years old) get their first checkup. His team encouraged to me to take pictures of their first visit and we got to take pictures of the X rays. It was neat to see how the adult teeth were growing in. I’ve been in my fair share of doctors’ offices, but very few have the exceptionally friendly service of Dr. Gamache and team. From the second I walked in the door, I was treated as if I was family. Again, unlike other doctors (and dentists), Dr. Gamache completely took his time with me and was very attentive – not with his mind on his next patient/weekend/etc. I have very sensitive gums, so the dentist can be very painful, and I’ve bounced around a lot of them to try to find someone who understands the need to be gentle. He was very accommodating and, even though it still wasn’t a walk in the park, he made the experience as comfortable as he could. I’m glad to have found a dentist I’ll return to!

I highly recommend Dr. Gamache who replaced the retired and kindly Dr. First. Dr. First wanted to be sure that whomever bought his practice was highly qualified and and one that his patients would like. He did just that. The staff is very competent, Emma at the front desk and Alex as Dental Assistant. Dr. Gamache is gentle and caring and highly qualified. He replaced a worn metal crown with a ceramic crown made on sophisticated computerized equipment in the office that meant only one appointment to get the crown. No pain. I am a senior with Invisalign braces that will improve my bite and prevent further misalignment. Dr. Gamache wears Invisalign so he had empathy for patients. Validated parking in the building is convenient. The office is centrally located in the Hillcrest neighborhood at Third and Walnut’

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Gamache. I never had Dr. First as a dentist so I can’t compare the two – I went to Dr. Gamache on a friends recommendation, not on Yelp. Personable, professional, relatable and best of all – definitely a gentle touch. I have had a long sordid history with the health of my teeth, ie a 4 year gap where I neglected to go to the dentist resulting in 14, yes 14 fillings in one year. That was rough – and my last dentist was so good, I would fall asleep during procedures – so you can definitely know – I appreciate the gentle touch. My past dentist being in Orange County, (and astronomically expensive) – I finally made the switch to a local dentist and I am glad I did! I also pay all of my dental work out-of-pocket because in the end I believe it saves me money – dental charges when I need it, not all year long in the just-in-case something happens. Now that I am more on top of my dental health, (every six months, come hell or high water) I have not had nearly as many problems. I also really value a friendly front desk. I got braces when I was 27 and worked with an Orthodontist who was fine and got the job done, but his front desk was remarkably terrible. I’ll have to go yelp that elsewhere, but that whole experience was terrible and I am very glad that Dr. Gamache’s front staff was quite the opposite! Very pleasant, professional, efficient and respectful. I do appreciate that Dr. Gamache didn’t bag on any of my past dental work – other dentists I’ve tried do that too. He seemed fair in his assessment of one problematic filling, but he wasn’t disrespectful of other people’s work. He also let me know there was time before it was a real problem and we’d keep an eye on it… no pressure or rush on that. Unlike the other reviews here, I was not upsold or pressured on anything. As far as the payment complaints, since I don’t have to deal with any insurance issues or changing rates or the insurance company fighting the doctor or vise versa – all the pricing seemed very fair, clear and up front to me. I’m sorry this review references so many previous bad experiences… but I am just so glad to find a reasonable, nice, professional local dentist after bad experiences at other dentists and one that actually seems as wonderful as my Dana Point dentist. I am so glad to have a reasonably priced local dentist I can trust in Dr. Gamache now!

After days of looking for a provider that was in network with my insurance, I finally found an office with great reviews and an accessible location. My expectations were definitely met and exceeded. Thanks to trish I was able to set up an appt on the same day since they had a cancellation. She called my insurance for me to make sure I wouldn’t pay out of pocket since I wasn’t prepared to pay a fee that day. It was covered so i went in and the hygienist did a cleaning and set me up for another deep cleaning, also covered, since I needed extra work done (haven’t visited a dentist in years). Everyone I encountered was super sweet and engaging, including Dr. Gamache. I am going back next week and I can’t wait! I haven’t seen a dentist in over 6 years, since I moved here to SD. My molar broke and finally had to choose a dentist. I researched ones in and out of my PPO. I finally settled on Dr Gamache and glad I did. His reviews on here are accurate. He does not have a big or pretentious office. But extremely nice and comfortable. The staff are all courteous and friendly, and not to mention competent. I called for a new patient appt around noon and they could get me in at 4pm. OK, that works for me. After my cleaning, Xrays and exam, all which were certainly needed I went into his office and he explained the pictures of all my teeth and treatments offered. I decided to get a crown on my broken molar and they said they could get me in at 8am tomorrow. Ok, that works for me too! So, in less than 24 hours, had initial exam and crown. That’s what I call fast! They also have options for patients with no insurance, including a 10% discount. I think I made a good choice.

I have been going to Doctor Gamache’s office since he bought the practice from my previous dentist, Howard First; going on 5+ years Have continued my care with him throughout the years because he has always prioritized taking care of my teeth and always asks how I am doing in my personal life. Out with the old and in with the new technology has been his MO and it helps with office efficiency especially during x-rays and diagnosing any cavities! Having the option to be reminded through text messages when you haven’t been to the office in a while is another great way to stay healthy without an intrusive phone call His hygienist Rachel is top notch, she uses warm water during cleaning, how many other dental offices can claim that?! Did I mention how gentle her cleaning is? I literally hold off on solid food for as long as I can after an appointment because I love that pristine mouth feeling The rest of the staff including Alex and Tish are like family friends to me, I always look forward to seeing them whenever I visit The last mention of staff is Emma, she handles the front office by checking in patients, engaging with new potential patients AND billing all in days work from what I’ve seen during my quick appointments. Her customer service skills and multitasking has always been appreciated and her knowledge shows in the grey hairs she sports on her haircut! First, I’d like to say… this has been my fifth dentist in three years, I am rather particular about who is picking around in my teeth, and I get panicky when it comes to even cleanings, so when I saw the already five-star reviews on here and ZocDoc, I figured this would be a good practice to try. I cannot explain the relief I feel after going into this dentist’s office – and usually it’s the opposite. I had booked an appointment on ZocDoc and immediately got a phone call from Emma for insurance information, etc. She was so friendly and accomidating, so when I walked into the practice and the receptionist introduced herself as Emma, it was nice to put a face to the name, she is such a sweet woman with a very calming demeanor. They also have a scentair in the reception area with a very delicious sweet smell that also helped put me at ease. I had a little lengthy of a wait time, but I was a new patient and they were very honest and said they were running a tiny bit behind. When I got called back, I sat in one room and had my teeth photographed by Alex, who was also very friendly. This I think was one of the strangest things I have done in my life but it was cool to think they wanted actual photos and not just xrays. Then, Rachel came into the room and introduced herself. She was my hygenist. What a bubbly and smiley woman! I loved her sense of humor and how she was really honest with you while also being funny. She was very gentle while also feeling like your teeth are clean. Big plus for me! When Dr. Gamache came into the room he shook my hand and went over the norm – anything bothering you, etc, etc. But he actually took the time to answer my question and eased my panic about the possibility of getting my wisdom teeth removed. Overall, this experience was probably the best dental visit I have ever had, (even though I had three small cavities!) The whole team is a delight to be around and they were very patient and thorough with me… I can’t believe I’m saying this… but I can’t wait to go back to the dentist again! Hahaha

I had been going to another dentist in San Diego but hated going to that office because it felt very cold and unfriendly and you never got the same hygienist. On top of it, they were very rough. However, Dr. Gamache and his staff are a refreshing change. They are punctual, professional, and friendly. They explain my insurance and dental options thoroughly and are so accommodating with my schedule. Raised nearby in South Orange County, Dr. Andrew Gamache completed his undergraduate studies at Westmont College, Santa Barbara in 2000 with a B.S. in Chemistry. He then earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at the University of Southern California in 2005. He met his wife at USC dental school and the two of them were married in 2007. Dr. Gamache worked as an associate Doctor in Huntington Beach for two years and then moved with his wife to Houston, Texas where she finished her residency. After living in the state where "everything is bigger" they made the move to "the big city" and enjoyed living in Manhattan, where their son was born. Dr. Gamache and his wife felt the pull to Gamache Family come back to Southern California and be closer to family. After much searching he met Dr. Howard First and his team and knew that this would be a great practice and a perfect fit for him. Now living in San Diego, Dr. Gamache has entered the next phase of his professional career. Dr. Gamache practices all aspects of general dentistry. This includes preventative, cosmetic, single appointment Cerec crowns, reconstructive, surgical, and Invisalign dentistry. He enjoys learning cutting edge clinical skills with continuing education and using the most current techniques and materials.
