Ive been to 4 different orthodontics and they’ve all turned me away saying they werent able to give me braces due to my caps. I came here, they read me more than one option, advised me what was best for my teeth and when i told them what i wanted, they worked with me and made it possible! ! And we worked it out in 2mins! The dentist is amazing and so was his assistant (im bad with names). They made me feel comfortable when i walked through the door! Im so happy cos i waited years for this! Today I got my braces off, at first I was really nervous but the staff is really great. They comfort you and make sure you’re in great hands, Enrique took off my braces and he polished my teeth. He did a really great job, he made sure I knew what he was doing which is very important especially for a service like this. The doctor was also very great, telling me what to do with the retainers and answering my questions very specifically. The other staff were complementing my teeth even though I feel a bit insecure but hopefully it will go away! Anyways this place is very great, they greet you with smiles and make sure you leave with your best smile!

Just added some rubber bands to my braces to correct my bite, which was done by the best Dr, Dr. Hamid! He’s the best in my opinion because he is very kind, friendly. My husband found this dentist on the website. He likes the reviews. So I called them to schedule an appointment for a consultation for my daughter to get braces. They said that they could see me today. I explained that I could not get there until 5:00pm once I pick my daughter up from the bus . The person on the phone was like that’s fine. She took down my insurance info so she could get the ball rolling. We meet Dr. Bar very nice and approachable.. He explained everything. After the x-rays, examine and molding was done. He said they could do her braces right now if we like. I was so surprise of the quick service. My daughter was so excited. I was expecting several appointments before she could get her braces. Dr. Bar, his assistant Wendy and staff was excellent. Very professional and kid friendly. I will recommend them to others. Great work.

I just got my Clear braces from Dr. Bar and I couldn’t be happier. I hate keeping my mouth open for a long period at the dental office so he took that into consideration and offered me an indirect bonding technique. Basically, the brackets are placed on models outside my mouth and then transferred to my teeth in a couple minutes. I went in at 10AM and had my braces on and my next appointment by 10:30. At the end of my appointment the dental assistant reviewed brushing and flossing with me and also provided me with a braces survival kit. Overall the office staff and assistant were all very friendly and the office was clean.

I had an amazing time being one of Dr. Hamid’s patients. If it’s one thing he understood, it’s patient care. He knows how to make you feel at your best and he dedicated his time to ensure you look as best as possible. I used to hate smiling, it’s the thing I do the most now thanks to Dr. Hamid. When I started my treatment with him, he presented my X-rays and explained to me in detail what was going to be done. It was quick, easy, and simple. All my questions were answered, treatment was amazing and fast. It was estimated 3 years and everything was done within 2 years evenly. Nonetheless, my experience with Dr. Hamid was incredible and anyone who decides to do treatment with him, will be treated like a gem. I love my smile and after getting them whitened, I feel awesome.

I’ve been wanting to go to an orthodontist and finally did it at 23years old. My case is pretty complex (narrow upper jaw, crossbite) and with that said I will have an upper jaw palate expander and then transition to invisaligns once I have the expander removed. Dr. Hamid and staff are so funny and make this experience unpainful and fast. I’m happy that I chose this office to do my ortho journey. Thank you guys! LOOK NO FURTHER ! I’ve looked highs and lows for an orthodontist and nothing compares to this office . The ladies at the front desk are so incredibly nice and always work with my crazy schedule . I wanted to write an updated review since I have now completed my invisalign treatment. I am beyond happy with the results. I never in a million years would have thought I would be so happy. I did my orthodontic work as a senior citizen (in my adulthood) and I was avoiding it because of the thought of it being noticable but I am so glad I did it. I am no longer embarrassed to smile! Dr. Hamid is AMAZING!!!!! His work is an art, he is truly talented in what he does. Other bonus is that he is so kind and patient. Everyone in the office is very friendly… from the staff in the front to the techs. I enjoyed every visit. They send reminder calls and texts to help make sure you dont miss your appointment! I was having a dental emergency and I needed to get my braces removed before my wedding and I could not get an appointment with the dental group that did my braces so I looked everywhere for some one willing to help and no one wanted to remove my braces. I took my nieces to Gardena Children’s Dental and I was surprised at the level of care they received. The doctors are all very young and energetic and we all really enjoyed our time their. The thing that sets this office apart from the others in the area is the time each doctor takes to explain their findings and treatment options. I know nothing about dentistry but I felt like I had a good understanding of what my nieces needed and why. Since my youngest niece is terrified of the dentist the doctor offered several sedation options to help her with her anxiety. An added benefit is that they also have two orthodontists on staff who performed a free consult. The orthodontist recommended treatment for one niece and told us to come back in 6 months for the other. I liked that he gave us an honest opinion of what to look for when shopping around for braces. The office is family operated by a husband and wife- both orthodontists and a children’s dentist.

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! I have a huge overbite and have been self conscious about getting braces for a very long time. Most of the consults I had with other orthodontists recommended removing 2 adult teeth. I didnt want to walk around with spaces between my teeth so I never got treatment. My friend recommended I come to this office because he told me that Dr. Bar has creative ways of doing braces and Invisalign in combination with each other. The doctor explained that he would use an appliance to create some space between my back teeth and then would use Invisalign to reduce my overbite. Dr. Bar showed me several examples of cases he treated using this special technique. I usually don’t write reviews but the doctors and staff at this office were amazing! I couldn’t be happier with my choice of doctor for my Invisalign. Dr Bar took his time to get to understand the results I wanted to achieve with my treatment. I’m applying to dental assisting school and didn’t want to start while being in braces. Dr. Bar offered me several options from lingual braces, Invisalign, and also a combination of a short period in regular braces and Invisalign. I was very worried that i couldn’t afford Invisalign since many of my friends told me it’s very expensive. I expressed this concern to the office manager and she assured me that they would work something out for me- and she did! I just picked up my aligners today and they are practically invisible. Overall I had a pleasant experience with this office and I recommend them to everyone.

Gardena Orthodontics was recently remodeled to include digital X-rays and imaging. We are a team of highly trained specialists who focus adult and children's orthodontics. We proudly serve patients of the Gardena, Torrance, Lawndale, Hawthorne and Compton communities. Dr. Hamid Bar grew up in Los Angeles and is now happily married to his wife, Nilou, who is also a Harvard-trained orthodontist. He attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies where he received a BA in sociology. He then pursued his dental training at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. In dental school Dr. Bar volunteered on a dental humanitarian trip to Cartagena, Colombia where he and his classmates provided treatment to local impoverished communities. Following dental school he attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine for his training in Orthodontics. At Harvard Dr. Bar was involved in a study that examined the underlying molecular biology behind TMJ joint disorders. As a Southern California native Dr. Bar enjoys teaching his dog, Curly, new tricks, as well as playing table tennis and going snowboarding.
