My daughter just had her braces put on two days ago, for the second time, in five years. I thought she’d be careful but, hey, she’s my kid and she broke off a bracket while vacationing in San Francisco at 3:30 in the afternoon which left a wire poking her cheek. I called Good+Sears Orthodontics (which closed at 4:00) and the receptionist was so kind, I was astounded off the bat. She listened to our story and asked us to get there when we could. Once we arrived a tech politely escorted my daughter to an exam room after asking for my permission and before I finished paperwork brought her back to the receptionist area with the work completed. With the red carpet service we were getting I was a little nervous about the bill. I thought the fee would be exorbitant but let’s put it this way… It wasn’t… At all. I’m a physician in South Dakota and I was blown away by the sweetness of the staff. Wow! My daughter was so appreciative she asked me to give the staff a tip from her vacation fund which they politely refused. If you live in San Fransisco, you really owe it to yourself to see this orthodontics group.

I love Dr. Good and her team, they are the best team that you can find in SF. Great service, great people. From the second you walk in, you can tell the vibes between employees, then you know how close and family-like this team is in Dr. Good’s office. Most importantly, they do remember each patient’s name and their teeth condition, that makes you feel that each of them does take every patient seriously. I would highly recommend every of my friend to Dr. Good! And actually I’m bringing my husband to next month 🙂
★★★★★
Awesome practice! Have Damon braces and wire was gouging my cheek. My ortho is elsewhere and I was in SF on a break and couldn’t wait to get home to get this fixed. They were super sweet and accommodating, made time immediately to slide the wire back into its proper position and even put stoppers on it, to prevent it from sliding again until I got home! They knew exactly what they were doing and had me and in and out in 5 minutes. Dr Good even popped in to introduce herself and look in on me! I am seriously tempted to move to SF just to have as my ortho going forward 😀

Loved everything about this place! Every visit was an enjoyable one. Amazing people working here. They are professional, friendly, accommodating and overall very good people! I’m glad I choose them for my Invisalign:)) I was surprised to receive a bottle of bubbly and chocolate for my last visit. So thoughtful! Highly recommended! Thank you Dr. Good & Sears and the rest of the staffs!!

Throughout my Invisalign treatment, Dr Good and her staff always made me feel at home with their warmth and professionalism. But what made me feel really comfortable throughout the process was the high quality of treatment. (Admittedly, I can only infer this by personal observations and reputation since I have zero knowledge.) I was initially very skeptical that I would be able to get through with all of it with just Invisalign, given how I’ve been recommended to consider surgery by several dentists I’ve visited. But after seeing the results during the treatment and hearing from a few dentists about Dr Good and her team’s reputation early on, I realized that I couldn’t have landed on a better decision. Thanks for making this a thoroughly pleasant experience!

I just had my traditional wire braces removed yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the results of the treatment and my decision to choose Good + Sears Orthodontics!!!!! I fell in love with the atmosphere of the office, their professionalism and caring attitude from the first moment when I came there, not to mention the location and outstanding design of the office. Until I found them, I wasn’t even sure that I was going to do teeth straightening. When I first time came to the office, had initial exam with Dr. Sears, talked with Jannet, I decided that Good + Sears would be the only place where I would want to do my orthodontic treatment (Do it once and do it right) I had experience being treated by both – Dr. Sears and Dr. Good, and can absolutely surely say that they are both the best professionals I ever met. They were answering to all my questions and concerns, explaining all the steps of the process. They are very caring about the patients. Also, their dental assistants – Carmela and Jannet are so friendly, experienced and competent, they all make a wonderful team! In the beginning of the treatment, it was estimated it would take 14 months, but it actually took just 12 months. I believe this is because they use the best materials and the latest technologies in their treatment. I am very happy with my smile now! However, I am going to miss seeing them every 6 weeks. I really enjoyed my time spent with them. I highly recommend Good + Sears!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Good+Sears and staff are A+. From the very first time my 8 yr old daughter stepped foot in the orthodontist office, she loved it. We had gone to three different orthodontist consultations and Dr. Sears had the same plan for her as the top notch 5 star one that I had gone to for a fraction of the price. As for the the customer service….its superb. They make you feel like your at a 5 star hotel. Never fails, once you walk in they offer you refreshments, coffee, water, tea, hot coco, etc. I love the fact that when they schedule your appointment for 3pm…they see you at 3 p m, not like other orthos where you are in the waiting area for 15-30min. just waiting to get called upon. Trust me, if you visit Dr. Good+Sears you will not be disappointed. Oh and I almost forgot…after paying for my daughters phase1 treatment in full Dr. Sears called us saying that our insurance paid more that expected and cut us a check for the difference. 🙂 happy camper!

No one likes the idea of braces and at age 48, I was less than thrilled at the prospect. I still had two baby teeth with no adult teeth beneath them and since baby teeth are wider than adult teeth, all of my adult teeth grew in incorrectly. I had resigned myself to the idea of my upper and lower teeth not meeting properly when I chew, but I had no idea how that was affecting so many other parts of my life. After resisting the idea of getting an Invisalign treatment for years, I went to Good + Sears for a consultation. I soon realized that the dentists trying to sell me on Invisalign were hacks and that only braces would straighten out the teeth in my mouth, which now looked like a bag filled with loose Chicklets. Since one of my baby teeth had become infected, it was time for action. The teeth were extracted and the realigning commenced. Yes, having a bunch of metal in your mouth is a weird sensation and yes, the braces are painful, but from the first treatment on, I could tell that my teeth were migrating in the right direction. Soon my teeth started realigning themselves and upon biting down, my upper and lower teeth were starting to meet up again. The stress level in my jaw started to plummet and I started sleeping better at night, since my upper and lower teeth were no longer hunting for a comfortable position. My neck muscles started relaxing and everything felt like it was falling into place. Another side effect of braces, is that you lose weight. You start looking at food and weighing the time it takes to pick food out of braces, vs. the actual pleasure of enjoying the food. It’s not like I starved myself, but I started eating a lot smarter. After two and a half years of office visits that felt like someone was taking apart and reassembling a transistor radio in your mouth, the day arrived for the removal of the metal restraints. The results were impressive and made the long journey worth it. The offices are gorgeous and some of the treatment rooms overlook Union Square, which makes an 8am office visit a lot more pleasant. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating to your needs. They are very sensitive to your pain threshold and have great tips for managing pain and an oral hygiene regiment. Yes, it is not cheap, but you only have one set of teeth. They had great financing options, which made the treatment an affordable endeavor. You are in good hands at Good + Sears and I recommend them without hesitation.

I love Good + Sears Orthodontics. They are fantastic! I have been a patient for about 5 months. From my first examination to my follow up visits, my experience has been extraordinary. The staff, Carmela and Janet, make you feel at home from the minute you enter the office to the second you leave. They are courteous, professional and extremely personable. Both Dr. Good and Dr. Sears go out of their way to explain the issue, the recommended treatment and they help you to understand your progress. They make excellent recommendations on how to make sure your treatment is effective and how to maximize your success. I am going to Good + Sears for Invisilign treatment and thanks to their helpful hints and regular check ups, I am actually progressing more quickly than anticipated! Although I’m excited to finish up treatment and show off my improved smile, I’ll miss my regular check ups with the doctors and staff as well as their numerous amenities – the incredible, modern office, the yummy coffee, tasty sodas, and Starbucks, Target and other gift cards! This was FSA money well spent!! Thank you Good + Sears!

After mulling it over for two years, I made the leap to get Invisalign. I went to see Drs. Sears and Good at their posh new Union Square office for a consultation. The minute I stepped off the elevator, I was ushered to at chair at rear of the office where Dr. Sears greeted me warmly and proceeded to explain the process of getting Invisalign. After I was determined to be a candidate, Dr. Sears examined my teeth, took x-rays, and took impressions needed to create the set of aligners that would move my teeth over the course of the next year. My first appointment was productive and efficient – I was set up for Invisalign in a little over an hour. The experience that I had at Good + Sears was truly unparalleled. I was impressed by Drs. Sears and Good, both of whom viewed me as a valued client: engaging me on the details of my treatment, informing me of the process and setting me at ease. To top it off, I discovered later that Dr. Sears had sent a note to my dentist notifying him of my course of treatment, which I thought was extremely professional and courteous. I highly recommend the services of Good + Sears. I am confident that you won’t find a more knowledgeable and attentive pair of orthodontists than Drs. Sears and Good.
★★★★★
VIRTUAL APPOINTMENT I was referred to Dr. Good from my dentist, Studio Dental to help with my Invisalign treatment. I have been on Invisalign for a year now, and I need help closing the back bite. Sadly we have to move the appointment virtually cuz to shelter-in-place. This isn’t ideal for an orthodontics appointment, but we are working with what we got! The virtual appointment went much better than expected. You get a zoom link to sign on, and they camera and sound worked really well. I sent in some photos beforehand so the dentist was able to review and give feedback. Of course, these are strange times and not the most ideal situation. But super impressed by this staff and the virtual appointments. I would highly recommend if you need to see an ortho!

My daughters look forward to their appointments at Good + Sears Orthodontics. At Good + Sears they’re treated like adults, their concerns and questions are taken seriously by the office staff, and the presence of many intelligent, professional women provides a unique and welcoming feel to each visit. As a parent, this has been the best relationship I have had with a medical provider for my girls. Every step of their treatment has been handled professionally. All communication with the office has been excellent. Small details like school excuse notices, appointment reminders, and availability via telephone has been delightfully easy. This is a sharp contrast to the other doctors my family deals with during the normal course of the year. I chose Good + Sears after reading glowing online reviews. I’m pleased to add my own. Thank you Good + Sears for taking such great care of us!

Just want to update the before and after photos as previously mentioned. Now when I look back, I really did look scary. Ohhhh and I also want to mention, my treatment was planned to be finished within 18 months. However, due to some crazy tooth bone lost and teeth issues that involves more than one doctor, my treatment had to extend to 4 years ( I know, crazy), Dr good and her team facilitate the whole process as much as they can. There are more than 10 times that I needed the wires to be off temporarily within a day, they always made that happened! I want to special thank Tam here for all your patience and kind words.
★★★★★
I recently completed my orthodontic treatment, which was complex due to a jaw surgery. The team was FANTASTIC. Seriously, they walked me through every step, talked me through the process and what I could expect. Everyone in this office is so kind and compassionate which makes the process of having braces a lot better. They always remember my name, where I am in my process, and I genuinely can say I’ll miss seeing everyone! Dr. Good is fantastic — she’s efficient, direct, and truly wants the best results for her patients. I also appreciated how well the office was able to work with my periodontist, jaw surgeon, etc. Along the way I had thing like poking wires and a broken bracket occasionally. The team was super responsive to get me in ASAP to fix it which I really appreciate. I’ve had orthodontics a couple times now, but this experience set the bar for what to expect out of a doctor’s office and was a great experience overall.
★★★★★
Every single person at this office is so sweet and goes out of their way to help. My visits here always light up my day a little because of the awesome staff. In terms of results, you can’t go wrong with the expert Dr Good and the team here. I did two jaw surgeries, including one that involved both jaws, and thanks to the team here, my smile is perfect now! I had a lot of anxiety going into the process, but the caliber of the team here put me at ease to go through this complex process, and I’m so glad I chose to do it.
★★★★★
Great experience from beginning to end with this office. Dr. Good and staff addressed every issue I had with my bite and dealt with my sensitivity with smiles and kindness at every appointment over more than a year and a half. Communication and flexibility were above and beyond. The entire staff is devoted and detail oriented. I will send any friends or family to this office.
★★★★★
I recently completed Invisalign treatment to fix a number of problems. The process from the first visit to the last was extremely professional, informative, upbeat, pleasant, and efficient. There were no hidden surprises. Dr. Good and her staff provided excellent care and I am thrilled with the results. The team coordinated care with my dentist which was particularly appreciated as nowadays so much is pushed to the patient to handle. If you’re looking for a modern, worry-free, yet warm and friendly experience for your orthodontic care, you won’t be disappointed with this practice.
★★★★★
I LOVE DR. GOOD AND HER STAFF. From day 1 everyone at this office was exceptional. Dr. Good is phenomenal in her approach to patients. She is easy going and fun. Every member of her staff was top notch and helpful. They are patient and kind. Non judgmental and they explain everything step by step for the treatment plan as well as when you are in the chair for your appointment.
★★★★★
I had an emergency with a retaining wire that had come loose and my orthodontist was closed. Dr Phoebe Good made room in her busy schedule to see me and do a repair within a few hours. She is magnificent. A wonderful warm hearted and high energy person who made me feel welcome. Thank you Dr Good – you’re a Godsend!

We are so grateful for Dr. Good and her lovely, friendly staff! We had just arrived in San Francisco from Vancouver, BC, Canada and our son felt a wire break in his mouth – the beginning of our 2 week vacation… We found Good + Sears on Google and they were so kind to see us a short while later. Our son’s wire was quickly fixed and we had a photo to show our orthodontist at home so all was well! We got some great sightseeing tips from the staff and were on our way. Many, many thanks to Dr. Good and staff…. Hayden Jackson & Family
★★★★★
The reviews of Good and Sears do not lie. I just got my braces removed today and I cannot express my gratitude enough to the team at this office. Dr. Good has the precision of a surgeon when it comes to orthodontics. She’s one of those people that you meet and immediately think, this person knows what she’s doing and could probably work miracles to boot. She’s firm and consistent in the treatment plan she sets down for you, so there aren’t any surprises along the way. Her staff deserve their own glowing review. It’s not often that a person feels comfortable and relaxed in a dental office but her team pulls it off with ease. Tam is a gem and Christina, Janet, and Meagan are pros when it comes to wrangling your braces, rubbers, and brackets into shape at each visit. The staff are also INCREDIBLY kind and clearly keep up to date with all patients because they’re always aware of your latest adjustments or big dates (like getting your braces off!). I can’t speak highly enough of this practice. Suffice it to say, while I’ll be moving out of state soon, I’ll continue to fly back to SF for any future retainer work or orthodontics needs because I wouldn’t trust another team to care for and straighten my smile the way Good and Sears has.
★★★★★
IF YOU NEED A REAL ORTHODONTIST with EXCELLENT TECHNOLOGY & STAFF this is the place for you!!!!!! I wish I took photos – the space is just as beautiful as the people and service. This office is incredible for MANY reasons. Coming from Hollywood I have very high standards for medical / dental practices. The service and overall quality of both the staff and service at Dr.Good’s rivals even the top doctors offices to the stars in LA. I was also impressed with the level of technology (simple THE BEST) I’ve experienced anywhere. Dr.Good’s team is incredibly thorough. I had the pleasure of interacting with Sarah (reception – first point of contact) who listened to my VERY complicated case (TMJ / bite issues / post – Invisalign nightmare) and Carmella (examination- extremely professional and AMAZING) to Dr.Good herself – very honest, knowledgeable, and great energy. While Dr.Good confessed it’s best not to open up another “can of worms” with more orthodontia, she gave me the advice I needed to resolve my issues and also referred me to a dentist. I only wish I could go back in time and not elect Invisalign for my very minor crowding – or have gone to her for treatment in the first place (beware of Invisalign and dentist who are NOT qualified orthodontists). Dr.Good is an ACTUAL Orthodontist and you NEED this even if you do Invisalign. Carmella explained so much to me that I was never told. I’m very grateful to her and the ENTIRE TEAM. I wish yelp had more stars. They deserve it all!!!
★★★★★
I always looked forward to seeing Dr. Good and her amazing team at every single one of my Invisalign appointments. Dr. Good is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and professional, and makes it a point to create a welcoming and caring environment for her patients. The staff here is the best, bar none. I always had a wonderful conversation with Tam at the front desk when he’d find the best time for my next appointment and Gina when she’d expertly take X-rays and assist Dr. Good. I was so grateful that the team took extra care to get me my Invisalign sets and consult with me before I took off for extended travel, and then to return to warm smiles as I finished my treatment. My teeth are looking great! Definitely give the office a call to set up a consultation if you’re interested in improving your smile 🙂
★★★★★
After not having any orthodontic treatment for 15 years, I set up a consultation with Dr. Sears to replace my old retainer and to determine if I needed new treatment to correct my shifting bite. The staff at Drs. Good and Sears was very friendly and professional and the office space was clean and aesthetically pleasing. However, what really made my experience stand out was Dr. Sears himself. His warm and personal demeanor made me feel right at ease, especially as I’d felt a little embarrassed about not having maintained my orthodontic treatment for years. He took the time to listen to my concerns and to address all my questions. After completing a thorough exam, Dr. Sears discussed his assessment of my bite and was able to craft me new a retainer. He explained how orthodontic treatment could improve my bite alignment, but was also very candid in letting me know that such treatment was not something I necessarily needed to start right away. Dr. Sears’s honest and open communication style made the process feel truly collaborative and instilled in me a great sense of trust and confidence in him. I highly recommend his services.
★★★★★
Drs. Sears and Good are both outstanding and their office staff is nothing short of amazing. As a medical professional, I interact with a lot of physicians and their staffs, but I have never interacted with a group that has their process as streamlined and as professional as Good+Sears Orthodontics. I’ve been their patient for almost 2 years and I’ve never once had to wait — they are efficient and respectful of your time, yet they also manage to make you feel like a member of their family every time you walk into their office. I can honestly say I will miss seeing them regularly once my treatments are complete. As for the treatment itself, my case was a bit complicated and I’d been told by other orthodontists in the past that I would need two years of braces to correct the issue. Dr. Sears, who is also a professor of orthodontics at UCSF, was able to use his expertise to modify an Invisalign approach and make it work to correct my issue without ever needing braces. This type of modification would not have been possible if I’d simply done Invisalign through my general dentist. The treatment was incredibly successful and suprisingly comfortable — modern orthodontics has clearly come a long way since I was a teenager. Basically, if you want the best orthodontics care in the Bay Area, you need to go to Good+Sears.
★★★★★
Can’t recommend Drs Good and Sears enough. My son has had his braces for a bit over a year. He is 15 and they have done a great job working with him and keeping him informed. He has mainly attended the appointments on his own and is able to get their easily on public transportation. The office is very nice, I thought when we first visited, after a recommendation from my son’s dentist, I’m not going to be able to afford this, but their prices were comparable. I’ve been amazed at the personalized communication both by email and phone. Dr. Sears helped weed the way through an insurance quagmire which saved us about $1800. It look a lot of calls and perseverance. Both my husband and I are lucky enough to have dental insurance for our son and orginally we thought only “the primary plan” would cover him for orthodonic work. But with lots of presistance on Dr. Sears part we finally got reimbursement from the second one. We were already paying the payments oursleves so he had nothing to gain personally with this extra work. Anyone who has dealt with the maze of insurance reimbursement would know what a labor of love that was. I don’t think you will regret going to Good + Sears, we sure haven’t.
★★★★★
I called here and was told I can have a complimentary consultation. I was happy to hear that on the first visit they would take orthodontic photos. I called two other places and was told there are fees for this so I was happy to hear that Good/Sears offerred this on the first appointment. The office is super nice, clean, and very modern. I was very pleased with the friendly staff and Dr. Good who I saw that day. They were efficient and professional. I parked across the street at Union Square and it was only $3. Dr. Good very thouroughly reviewed my teeth and case and offerred me an affordable in house payment plan. I had red carpet service here and am happy I found them!

We took our daughter to get braces last Thursday at Dr. Sears’ office on Stockton Street. His office is beautiful and looks nothing like the orthodontists’ offices I remember as a kid. Dr. Sears made my daughter feel extremely comfortable and the entire process of x-rays, impressions, and putting braces on both top and bottom took just over an hour. He explained everything he was doing and how the technology had improved since I was a kid. Watching Dr. Sears work on my daughter was great; he was very meticulous. We had a great experience, but what really counts if you are considering an orthodontist is the job they are going to do for you. I did the research so I’ll save you some time: he went to Harvard Dental School, graduating Cum Laude, and then UCSF for his orthodontics residency and now teaches part time at UCSF in the orthodontics school. If you are thinking about orthodontics for you or your children, you owe it to yourself to go visit Dr. Sears for an evaluation. You will be impressed. Regarding the location, their office is a block from Sutter-Stockton garage, and if you can keep regular visits under an hour, parking is only $3. I was worried that the location would be a hassle, but in hindsight, given the close proximity of the garage, it’s actually very convenient.

I just finished my invisalign treatment and I am very satisfied with the results, especially after taking Dr. Good’s recommendation to seek out minor restoration work on my front four teeth. I decided to write this review after someone complimented me on my teeth over the weekend. Thank you Dr. Good! I had invisalign back in 2010 only on my top teeth. This was definitely a mistake and I now understand why. Dr. Good was able to realign my open and off-centered bite in addition to straightening my teeth. The attachments are the worst when you first get them on, but you get used to them after a while and it is all just part of the journey. I had virtually zero physical pain throughout the entire process. Dr. Good’s office and staff are great and the whole team is very attentive and responsive. Dr. Good + co answered my questions and kept me on track to complete my treatment in a timely manner. Dr. Good is a true pro. I tried to cut corners the first time around and now I can see why I should have just come to someone like Dr. Good in the first place. I highly recommend Good + Sears Orthodontics. They will help you achieve the smile you want from an aesthetic perspective, but will also ensure that your teeth and jaw are functioning properly in order to promote good dental health and longevity.

What an exceptional experience! Dr. Good and her staff could not have done a better job with our daughter’s braces. When she started, she was so uncomfortable with her teeth that she covered her face when she smiled. She is now a grinning young woman with enhanced confidence and enthusiasm. The office staff is accommodating and kind, and their follow-ups and reminders were extremely helpful. Dr. Good even helped coordinate care while our daughter was studying abroad. Truly a first class orthodontist and excellent experience. It doesn’t get better!

Got my braces off today! I am so pleased with the results. Dr. Good coordinated with both my dentist and oral Suregon to make sure everyone was on the same page on my treatment. She made sure that I always knew what the next step was and answered all my questions. The entire team is so friendly! Everyone welcomes me with a smile and by my first name. Cam at the front desk makes scheduling fun and easy. They have email and text reminders, so appointments were always on my radar. During check-ins everyone made me feel comfortable, involved me in the process, and expertly made adjustments. Everything was efficient and organized. The office lounge is super cute and has WiFi if you need to get a bit of work done before/after your appointment. As annoying as it was to get braces for a second time in my life and as an adult, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I am so happy I choose Good & Sears!

From the consultation to the end result Dr.Good has always been really thorough and clear.I cant be more thankful. I simply cannot express how grateful I am to be given a confident smile again. I never yelp but you guys deserve this five stars review. Thank you for getting my smile back I really love my new smile and I want you all to know that you guys are the best. Five stars to the team =)
