I can’t express how happy I am with my new smile from Grauer Orthodontics. This was my second time in braces, so I wanted to make sure I got it perfect, and I definitely chose the right place. Dr. Grauer took the time to answer all of my questions during our consultation and informed me that my case would be better suited with traditional braces, rather than the Invisalign that everyone else was trying to sell me (even though that’s what I really wanted). He also explained that he takes the whole facial aesthetic and the aging process into account, as opposed to other places which only focus on the teeth being straight, which is a philosophy I found refreshing and ultimately why I chose to go here. The other doctor in Dr. Grauer’s practice, Dr. Dang, who worked on my case most days, was a delight. She is extremely detail oriented, and was the most patient in handling my millions of questions. She listened intently to my concerns down to each individual tooth. I could not recommend her enough! It was nice having 2 doctors look after my case. Emily Purnell, the ortho assistant, was also delightful to work. She changed all my wires, took my impressions, handled the scheduling of my next appointments, and was the liaison between me and the doctors if I had any extra questions or if there was anything additional I needed following up on. She was super nice and patient to work with! Overall I highly recommend this practice. It’s a bit on the pricier side but you definitely get what you pay for here!

Dr Grauer and his staff are amazing. From the day I started my incognito braces to today (I am half way through), I have been made to feel like I am important. I am in high level sales so braces for me were not an option and I didn’t feel I had the time or the discipline to be messing with invisalign. When it comes to lingual braces, Dr. Grauer is your guy in the LA Market! His assistant Ed is also super cool and patient! You will read about lingual braces being uncomfortable or causing lisp. I have crowded teeth leaving not a whole lot of room for my tongue and for me no lisp and yes while they took about 2 weeks to get use to, I had conventional braces when I was a kid and I don’t recall ever being used to those. In just a couple months now top teeth people have noticed are straight and bottom are well on their way. While projected for 14 months, my hope is to be done inside a year : )

I am so happy when I finally get my new smile back. Many thanks to Dr. Grauer. I have been in teeth brace before when I was a 11-year-old teenage, however, after a dentist removes one of my wisdom teeth, gaps appeared again in my upper front teeth in 2009. Therefore, I started to “tolerate” the teeth brace again two year ago with another orthodontist. However, it did not help at all. In opposite, it even makes my teeth much worse. I could still recall how ugly I was when I first came to Dr. Grauers’ office. Dr. Grauer removed my previous brace, and then installed the new one. Actually he was surprised by my case at that time and said ” a lot of works to do!” But with only 1 Year and 3 months, I am ready to get the brace off:) I feel so lucky that I chose Dr. Grauer’s team. From the moment you have your first consultation, you quickly realize how thorough and detailed his treatment plans are. Got my teeth straightened by Dr. Grauer and team after two broken jaws, which had caused my teeth to shift dramatically. At the recommendation of a few friends who were taking their kids to highly recommended orthodontists in Santa Monica I took my then 14 year old son to both of them for consultations. Their findings varied enough that I decided to get a 3rd opinion. Dr. Grauer was recommended by another friend whose daughter had been to 5 orthodontists who all wanted to pull 5 permanent teeth to correct her daughter’s alignment, but Dr. Grauer was able to treat her without removing any of her teeth. Dr. Grauer was the most thorough of the three doctors in his assessment of my son’s issues and showed me exactly what needed to be done. The cost of treatment was also right in the same ballpark as the other doctors. We’ve been very happy with Dr. Grauer, his entire staff and the new location is very convenient with free parking.

I came to Dr. Grauer because my fixed retainer had come loose on one side and needed to be cemented. Dr. Grauer bonded the retainer back in place same day as my evaluation. A former Professor of Advanced Orthodontics at the University of Southern California, Dr. Dan Grauer operates a one-of-a-kind practice in Santa Monica, CA that serves patients who desire the best customized results with invisible orthodontic solutions. Dr. Grauer is a Board Certified Orthodontist who has trained extensively in dentistry and orthodontics in both Europe and the United States. Dr. Grauer first received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Master’s of Orthodontics, and Specialty Certificate of Orthodontics from the University of Barcelona. He then came to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for continued training, where he received his Master’s of Science, Specialty Certificate of Orthodontics, DDS, and PhD in Oral Biology. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UNC, where he still serves as an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Grauer is an associate editor for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and sits on the editorial boards of several other professional publications. A well-known and respected researcher, he lectures at meetings nationally and internationally and provides lingual orthodontic services in practices around the world.
