My boys have been seeing Dr. Shah for many years and I highly recommend Growing Smiles for pediatric dentistry. The staff are professionals who make patients and parents feel very comfortable and who take the time to explain everything. Beyond general check ups, one son had a tooth pulled (abscessed tooth) and who had to go in today for a cracked tooth; the other son was referred to an orthodontist for braces because of an under bite (which is now fixed).

Dr. Reena and her team are amazing. Paige was so great with my kids, working with their favorite toys and songs to keep them content. My kids are 2 and 3 and they are both eager and excited to go to the dentist, even though brushing teeth at home isn’t done in quite the same manner. Such a testament to the great team and caring staff. They give helpful tips and feedback on habits and techniques. I can’t imagine taking my kids anywhere else.

This place is the best. I spent almost a year searching for a dentist for my child and when we arrived here I knew it was the place. From the time we walked in until the time we left everyone was so friendly and welcoming. My child was not afraid and when we left he asked when would we return. I recently took my 3.5 year old and 1.5 year old here in the last month and they both had their teeth cleaned and checked. I have been trying with my regular dentist for my 3.5 year old and she wouldn’t let them see her teeth so that’s when I started looking for pediatric dentists. My 3.5 put up a fight and it took 2 staff and the dentist to clean and check her teeth. For 1.5 year, I was able to hold her down myself while the dentist worked on her teeth. My favorite part is that they are electronic. I needed my 3.5 year old’s dental exam docs for her school and they were able to send me a PDF form via email on the same day. My kids’ large pediatric practice associated with Lurie’s would take days before they send me a copy. My kids’ favorite part is getting the golden coin to use the gumball machine for toys and trinkets. I am no longer anxious about taking my kids to the dentist, thanks for Growing Smiles.

We are so thankful for Growing Smiles. We had two miserable experiences with pediatric dentists before finding Dr. Reena and team. The whole team really knows how to deal with scared kids and our daughter and now our son have had great visits every time. This was the first time my 15 month old son ever saw a dentist. I was so nervous! But, the staff, technicians (Priscilla!), and Dr. Reena were fabulous. I can go on and on about how kind they were and comforting. They made sure my son felt comfortable with songs and a lullaby show playing on the TV. They showed him all the tools and gave him lots of little trinkets to keep his hands busy. At the end of the visit, he even got a nifty little certificate and a book about taking care of your teeth! He had pretty bad staining and Dr. Reena had to use additional instruments to clean it off and they were so accommodating. They had multiple positions for me to hold my son, so he was most comfortable. Amazing place! What a great first experience! Thank you, Growing Smiles!

Wow! What a great place for children’s dentistry! Everyone was so kind and bubbly-from the front desk to the hygienist to the delightful Dr Shah! They were able to put smiles on the face of my toddler even though he was nap-deprived and not in the mood for a dental visit at the moment. Special thanks to the sweetheart who held my 4mo old baby so I could support my toddler through his dental cleaning. Our visit went so smoothly and comfortably that I had a challenge getting my little man to leave once he was done! The space is cheery, bright, and welcoming to children. We are happy we got the recommendation to this office and Dr Shah! She is clearly a talented and delightful clinician and we are happy to have her as our boys dentist.

I can’t say enough good things about this practice and about Dr. Shah in particular. When we started coming here my daughter was borderline phobic about going to the dentist. Every visit involved fear, crying, pleading and cajoling. Growing Smiles has completely turned that around for her. She no longer complains about going at all, and admits that she likes all the people at Growing Smiles, especially Dr. Shah. She still struggles with doctor visits, so it is not just a matter of maturity. Besides top notch care and a friendly environment, the striking thing about the practice is how they take time with each child. They always take time to chat with them about their life and also let them use their quiet room if they are feeling anxiety. The quiet room is a small room with a door they can close. It has easy chairs, books, and a tv. When my daughter was panicky about an extraction they let her take time out to chill and never rushed her. Dr. Michael performed the extraction and he was wonderful. Kind and patient. We have never had a less than great experience with any person associated with this practice.

I try to make going to the Dentist a fun curious new adventure for my girls, and and Dr. Rena, Taylor and the entire staff are an absolute delight and help to make that happen. My 2 and 4 year olds loved going to the dentist today, where there are fun toys, incredibly nice staff, Netflix on the ceiling and an overall warm and comfortable environment; I laid on the chair with my 2 year old on top of me for the exam, and she was excited for her sticker and to choose her new toothbrush after a quick and easy cleaning and check up. The girls didn’t want to leave at the end of our appointment. I recommend Growing Smiles to everyone with kiddos!!! We are lucky to have them in our neighborhood.

My kids have been in for routine cleanings, trauma, and even a filling. The Doctors and staff are so wonderful! My kids, actually, look forward to going there, not matter the circumstance. I have friends visiting from England and their 21 month old daughter fell in the park and badly hit her front teeth. We called Growing Smiles at 4:50 pm – they close at 5:00 pm – and they asked us to email a picture. After seeing the image they thought it best that we bring her in. Three members of staff waited after hours until we got there. It was 5:20 pm by the time we’d power walked there. They were helpful and kind, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! They reassured my friends that their little girl was okay.

Dr. Reena was SO helpful in calming us down when our daughter knocked out her front tooth at a very young age. She explained the implications and all of our options for the future, and reassured us that our daughter will be perfectly fine. Seriously. This place is is so awe.some. It is truly a pediatric practice that is UBER kid-friendly and kid-centric. We were seeing another dentist before and we would leave in tears. We adore Dr. Shah. She is one of the nicest, smartest and resourceful human beings that I have ever met. Every time we go for a check-up, she truly checks-in and wants to know what going on beyond just my daughter’s teeth and gums. She has changed my daughter’s attitude towards going to the dentist. We went from tears to when I am going back again. All of the staff is incredibly patient and warm. The technology reminders and hours are great. Though we are moving to the suburbs, we will continue to make the trek down to see Dr. Reena.

Growing Smiles was recommended to us from good friends for our boys (at the time 2 and 3.5) for their first dentist visit. Every person at Growing Smiles from the minute we walked inthe door made it such a positive experience for the boys that they LOVE (yes..i said LOVE) going to the dentist. Dr. Reena and her staff were so calm and funny with the boys. They even hung up a picture of my “thumb sucker” when he quit to make him feel special. This is the best place to go for kids! My daughter had seen another pediatric dentist in Chicago and she was okay, but everyone at Growing Smiles is fantastic! My son needed a lot of dental work done at a very young age (21 mos) due to a birth defect and Dr. Kristin was fantastic every step of the way. He actually had to be at the hospital for the amount of work to be done, and she reassured me and kept me updated throughout the procedure. My son loves going to the dentist and I credit her for that. We recently had to see Dr. Reena in an emergency and she was fantastic too. Both of them are cheery, compassionate, and great with the kids. They explain things in a way that is easy to understand and friendly too. The receptionists are super nice in addition. On top of everything else, the office is bright and cheery, perfect for kids. I hands down would recommend this office to anyone needing a pediatric dentist. My kids can’t wait for their next cleanings!

We chose Growing Smiles because of their amazing reviews on Yelp, and after our experience today we totally understood why they have 5 Stars ! This was our first dentist visit, so we don’t have anything to compare it to, however, I could not have asked for a better experience! The staff was extremely friendly, the office was clean, and they thought of it all when it came to making kids most comfortable at the dentist. They had TVs on the ceiling for Ezrah to watch her favorite TV show, which made her really comfortable. She was a little confused as to what was going on, but the staff sung her songs and explained everything that they were going to do in a way that was simple enough for her to understand. She got a little overwhelm when it came to the cleaning, but at the end of it she was gifted a toy, toothbrush, and a picture of herself that made her forget about it all! If you live in Chicago and have children, you have to check out Growing Smiles! You won’t regret it, I Promise!!

So happy with this practice. We live in the south loop, but make the trip because we like it that much. My 3 year old daughter does not like going to the dentist, and screams her head off through the entire visit, but the dentist and staff are always so wonderful, kind and patient with my daughter. They are just great with kids, the calm ones and the not so calm ones, and they do it a smile which also makes mom feel better. Their office is also inviting and kid friendly, TV’s on the ceiling, prize machine for when you get done with your visit, stickers, fun toothbrushes… they’ve thought of everything. Highly recommend

They are fantastic. I brought my daughter in for her first dental exam the other day and it could not have gone any better. Dr. Reena and the staff are patient, friendly, and utterly accommodating. They are also very good at explaining, both to children (I was amazed at how easily they got my daughter to lie back in the chair and have her teeth cleaned) and to adults (I received a very thorough explanation of my daughter’s mouth and how to make sure she grows up with very healthy teeth). The lobby and rooms are very bright, cheery, and full of toys and other things to set your child’s mind at ease. Having Dora play on the TV above her dental chair was a nice distraction for my daughter, and Dr. Reena somehow managed to make applying a coat of fluoride (“princess sparkles”) something she really enjoyed. This is a model for how such a practice should be run. I’m incredibly impressed.

We brought our 2.5 year old daughter in yesterday for her first cleaning. All of the staff were so kind and patient with her! After the cleaning, she got to pick out a toothbrush, sticker and also got a book! So unexpected but she loved it. There is a little play area in the front which she got to play in and warm up before we went back for the cleaning. The dr showed her all of the tools before we started and was Fast & efficient w the cleaning. Already made our next appointment for 6 months down the road. Would highly recommend this place!

My 3 yr. old son went to Growing Smiles for his first dental appt. The staff was very nice. Our dental assistants were extra kind and gentle with him. They explain everything and ask questions. They make the child’s comfort level a priority. They have tv’s on the ceiling and let the kids pick out a show off Netflix. They have fun stickers and toothbrushes. They give the kids a special prize from a machine at the end. We had Dr. Shah. She was wonderful. My son was nervous about visiting for the first time but they put him at ease and he did great. We will certainly be going back. They were behind and we had to wait which wasn’t a huge deal. In advance of they meeting they emailed several forms. I would recommend having them printed and filled out when you get there. I did and it made the whole experience a lot easier. Great place!

2 year old daughter and 4 year old son had their first visit here. Amazing how great they were with both of them. TV on the ceiling with headphones kept them relaxed. Have kids? Those kids have teeth? If so, this is your go-to spot. It’s easy to make an appointment. They work around school / activity schedules and keep track of any insurance restrictions on visits. The kids LOVE going, love that they get to choose a TV show to watch while their little jaws hang open, and love that they get to pick a flavor for the cleaning paste. Highly recommend. Pro tip: use side streets to get there and park, and try to avoid driving past the local school around 8am.

She has an ability to ease their fears or concerns. She is amazing with them. I can’t rave about this place and the staff enough! I took my petrified 4 y.o in for a cleaning today, and though she screamed bloody murder during the cleaning, Miss Glenda (the hygienist) and Miss Kristen (the dentist) were amazing. They made me feel better about how difficult she was, and even managed to still get her teeth cleaned, though it took all 3 of us! 🙂 However, for the slightly less petrified children (really, for all) this place is equipped! Cute and inviting lobby and toy area, tv’s on the ceiling to play your child’s favorite show while they get their cleaning, stickers, a coin after to “buy” a prize, plus adorable stories about your child’s favorite fictional characters who have also had their teeth cleaned in their office. Though my daughter is a difficult patient, I felt assured she was getting attention and that I was in the right place. Seriously, even if you don’t live in the neighborhood, this ped dentist is worth the trip!

Terrific team at Growing Smiles. Our 3 y/o twins see Dr Shah & her staff. Second visit a couple of wks ago. Highly impressed by Dr Shah’s patience, skill & gentle style. On our first visit with her, our children were nervous & scared. When she spontaneously burst into a song with a soft lullaby, their fear dissipated. Think she may be one of the best Pediatric dentists in the world….so relieved to not ever have to worry about children’s dental visit experience. Dr Shah rocks!
