Dr.Joyner Is a Great Dentist! She really knows her stuff! I been her patient since she had her Gardena Office on VanNess then when I had my daughter she became her patient at 8 months old now she is 19yrs old and she still goes there! Now Dr.Tucker (Dr.Joyner’s Son) is there and he is great too he got it from his mama! Keep up the great job y’all do for your patients and the community I know y’all humble but I know about the services y’all do for our community what others might consider the minority (Blacks and Hispanics) so go ahead and go to the White Dentist who don’t care about our children just the money but when ready to have the Best treatment, Compassionate, and conservative treatment Come to Dr.Joyner’s yes the wait might be long and kid might get wrapped up I got wrapped up a few times THATS BECAUSE I WAS BAD AND WOULDNT BE STILL is all for your kids safety And I’m saying all this due to reviews I read Witch I find bogus WHAT DID URE KID OR U AS A PARENT REALLY DO AT YOUR APPOINTMENT BEFORE LYING TELL THE WHOLE STORY! Love ya Dr.Joyner and Im sure I’m going to Love Dr.Tucker my grandson was very Happy with him he’s only 1 1/2 and he did great KEEP UP THE AWESOME JOB

Went to dentist for first time in five years..staff was very courteous…was very nervous but when dental hygienist started talking to me I began to feel at ease..then the actual doctor came in..she was so pleasant..I loved her gentleness she made me feel so comfortable..although I need quite a bit of work..she put me at ease..I left after having x-rays a complete exam and a gentle cleaning and I say gentle because other times I’ve left dental offices with pain just from the cleaning..left their feeling quite happy and not at all nervous about my next visit..I highly recommend this place to all who are very scared to go..

Great service. The people are wonderful and friendly. Most important fact is the Dr. Joyner nows her dentistry and won’t ruin you pearls. I have had other dentist work on my teeth and end up ruining them by doing bad fills and causing me to pay more for root canals. Dr. Joyner is an oral surgent and knows her stuff. Don’t risk going anywhere else. I learned my lesson the hard way.

The fact that Dr. Joyner was able to give my 5 year old a filling in between her two front teeth without giving her a shot to the back of the mouth is enough for me to never switch dentist ever again. At our old dentist she wouldn’t even open her mouth. Dr. Joyner’s office is very friendly, professional, CLEAN, and caters to all ages. I would definitely recommend her practice over and over again.

I’ve only experienced attentive, friendly service at Dr. Joyners office. I’ve even threatened to follow her out of state if she ever decided to move her practice. I began bringing my daughter to Dr. Joyner when she was approximately 2yrs old. Through X rays, extractions, cleanings and braces my daughter has only complained about one thing… a busty person working on her mouth. If you want an appointment time with minimal to no waiting I suggest first thing Saturday mornings or a 2pm/3pm appt during the week. The office staff ALWAYS provides you with a receiot of payment and, via mail, a statement of services and related charges. I read two posts where people were billed incorrectly. Thank heavens they were smart enough to review their bills because we have all experienced human errors. It also appears their errors were corrected. A testament to Dr Joyners office staff although they may have made a mistake, they were willing to correct it. They are always on the ball!

Dr. Arlene Joyner is an amazing pedodontist, staff is friendly, usually not too busy and there’s parking. Been going to her since my daughter turned 1 and Dr. Joyner has always explained everything she does very thoroughly and why she’s doing it. Also gave me some great tips on how brush my toddlers teeth correctly. She’s a bit strict but very insightful when it comes to her recommendations like “no more sippy cups”. Overall, my daughter’s teeth are healthy, straight, and she loves to brush, I definitely would recommend this office.

My siblings and I have been going to Dr. Joyner since I was 8 years old. When I first went I was terrified of the dentist and had been to 3 offices previously. Dr. Joyner took her time with me and completely removed my fear. 15 years later and I still go to Dr Joyner. All my siblings bring their children to her and even after moving to Northern Cali, I just brought my daughter in for her first visit.

On my first visit to the dentist I was a little scared because I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t want to have any cavities but there was a tooth that was giving me major sensitivity. Ed the assistant was very kind and caring and even held my hand. The other assistant Tony was very patient with me while taking my digital xryas, they came out great by the way, and made me laugh a couple times making the fear go away. When Dr. Joyner did my oral evaluation she let me know what was causing my sensitivity and took care of me. She has many years of experience with children and I, not being a child, felt like a child does when their mom kisses their boo boo and tells their kid everything is going to be okay, that sense of ease and relief. I was so pleased with the amount of time she had dedicated for me, educating me and making me feel special and I know for a fact that she will do the same with all her patients. I recommend this office to all, even tho they specialize in children, they will also take care of their adults, like they did with me 🙂

Since 1985, we’ve been committed to providing the best smile care for children possible. Our aim is to educate you and your child and empower you both to make good decisions about your family's oral care needs. Our dedication to our young patients is one of the most important components of our practice. Dr. Joyner has been a staple of the Los Angeles dental community since 1979. She opened our dental practice in 1985 to provide the highest-quality care and service to children in the Los Angeles area. Having completed her fellowship training with a focus on special needs children, Dr. Joyner has a distinct interest in treating special needs patients, particularly children with autism. Patients love Dr. Joyner because of the amount of time she spends with them and because she is truly caring and builds trust in her patient relationships. Her favorite part of her job is turning a fearful child into one who loves to come to the dentist with no fear at all. Being very active in various charitable organizations, Dr. Joyner devotes much of her time mentoring and caring for underserved children in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas. She has two children – a daughter, Brooke, and Dr. Brent Tucker, her son who recently moved back to LA to join her in practice. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, and traveling.
