I have grown to love and appreciate this place. Before I ever came in I had such great insecurities about my teeth, but after months and months of having braces, I saw great results in which that I’m so grateful for. Aside from that I’d like to give a big shout out to the amazing staff Hi Smile has, they make their clinic the most welcomes and the most friendliest place. On that note, I’d like to thank Aunty Lee and Ku’u the absolute most. They’ve really made each of my appointments memorable with all the stories, jokes, and the lots of laughters we shared together. They really make me look forward to the every next appointments I have and that should honestly tell you something. So, if you are thinking of going to an orthodontist, I 100% would recommend you going to Hi Smile. I’ve seen amazing/ tremendous results in myself and the great atmosphere they have are just unbeatable.

I always look forward to my visits at HI Smile Orthodontics! From the very beginning of getting to know the staff, they were always so friendly and welcoming! One person I always look forward to seeing is Leigh Nakata. She is the most kindest soul I have ever met. She has worked on my teeth several times and always makes it fun!! She never fails to put a smile on my face as well as many other patients. Leigh is just one of the many staff members that work hard to make sure your visit was a great one!

If you’re looking for an orthodontist, search no more. I “shopped around” before deciding to go with Hi Smile and I’m sure I made the right decision. This is a hidden gem. Do yourself a favor and make your appointment with them! Atmosphere: Cheery and fun, very calming if you get nervous. The office has a beach theme and the clinic is the “surf hut”. During the holidays they make it feel very festive! Staff: Kind, fun and friendly. I always enjoy my visits. The staff are fun to chat with and put you at ease. Orthodontist: Dr Malia is very knowledgeable, professional and up to date with her practices. She knew much more about my options than any other office I visited. Appointment Availability: They are very flexible and work with you to find a time that works for you. Efficiency: Superb! I’ve never had to wait longer than 1 minute from walking in the door to be taken to the clinic. Cost: I believe their pricing is competitive and they offer payment plans to fit your budget. Parking: Although tight, there is always parking available under their building, behind the McDonalds. COVID-19: They have altered their practices to ensure you are safe and even provide virtual equipment to allow virtual check ins. Prior to COVID-19 they used to have a Keurig in the waiting room… presumably for the parents as I’ve never had to wait!

Hi Smile is over the top unreal. everyone working there is so loving and caring, every appointment after my first they knew who i was and always invited me in with open hands. the workers there are the equivalent to the uncles who gives u waves in the lineup. aunty Lee was the one who usually did the work on my teeth, we was always done within the hour and usually my appointment wouldn’t even last 30 minutes. even with the fast time everything was done perfectly. thanks to everyone who made my smile perfect, you guys are cherry and a half.

I’ve been going to Hi Smile Orthodontics for all of my ortho needs (I needed braces), and they’ve all been fantastic. Doctor Kamisugi as well as her staff are all welcoming and warm, even after missing multiple appointments or going to an appointment without having worn my rubber bands. Aunty Lee and Aunty Ku’u have always been fantastic at making my time there whiz by with their always loving conversations as well as their masterful and efficient braces maintenance. The receptionist, Ryan, is very proactive and professional; offering written appointment cards to remind me of the next one, or calling me the day of the appointment with the intention of rescheduling another one as I’d missed it already. Throughout the years, one thing I’ve learned is Hi Smile Orthodontics is a company of people who are practically family. They’re great for people of all ages they’ve helped me transform from a young teen to a young adult. One with a pretty great smile at that. 10/10 would bring my kids here if I had kids.

Dr. Kamisugi was able to continue my braces treatment, since I initially got my braces on in San Diego when I was living there in 2008. Not all orthodontists are able to work on my ICE brackets (which are the clear ones), but Dr. Kamisugi does it. He also does Invisalign if you are interested in that. I still have my braces on, but should be getting them off soon! I always enjoy visiting the office – the staff is very nice and friendly. Dr. Kamisugi and I always wala’au about the surf (he and his daughter Malia are both surfers). The office is nice, clean and organized. The decor is island themed with surfboard paintings on the wall. Cool surf shack. He also straightened my three younger cousins’ teeth. He did an awesome job.

The whole team has been exceptional. I have been seeing Dr. Kamisugi & her team for about a year and a half, and they are individually the nicest people. They’re all very caring, thorough, & definitely experts in this field. It’s the little things they do that makes me happy to see them like remembering my name and having this great, positive energy. Additionally, they provide awesome gifts in your initial appointment (ie. water bottle, Invisalign cases, pens, lip balm). I have no one to compare them to, but Hi Smile Orthodontics is the best! As an adult patient wanting to get orthodontic treatment done, I felt at ease as soon as I entered their office. It’s very unconventional and pleasantly local. Dr. Malia Kamisugi is a very beautiful person inside and out, and you can tell that she’s genuinely interested in your progress as a patient. Her staff had seen changes throughout the duration of my treatment, but everyone who are on board also share the same cheerful attitude that Dr. Malia herself has everytime I visit. I’m kind of sad that my treatment is finally over, but I’m glad that I had them beside me throughout my journey to a better, more confident me. They had a story of someone taking up to 6 years to complete their treatment as an adult on braces, but they assured me that if I stay compliant with doctor’s orders, my treatment could be done sooner. Mine still took longer than average (most people take 18-24 months to complete theirs–don’t quote me on that, there’s no statistical evidence behind it that I can quote), but at 3 1/2 years, I’m not complaining about it. The entire treatment was very fulfilling. I didn’t have a hard time whenever I needed something fixed (bracket fell off, broken ties, more rubber bands, poking wires, etc.) at the last minute; they somehow manage to still squeeze me into their schedule. I can’t stop raving about the pleasantness and the hominess of the atmosphere at their office. They include you in their celebrations too! I can’t forget when they gave me hot cocoa when they were having a Christmas-themed pajama day at work! Anyhoo, all subjectivity aside, here’s what I can assure you that you can expect from their office: * Always on-time with appointments * No-commitment consultation * Wide variety of treatment options (traditional braces both metal and ceramic, Invisalign, lingual, etc.) * Same pricing on traditional braces and Invisalign * Flexible payment options * Choice of different colored ties and chains every visit (I know, minute detail but worth mentioning) * Friendly staff who are genuinely excited to see you everytime not just because you’re a paying customer * Caring orthodontist who is pleasantly assertive and is someone you’ll be excited to see each time * Freebies from time to time! (I guess it depends as long as you’re a compliant patient) * That ‘ohana atmosphere in their office * Environmental sustainability-oriented (I got basil seeds in a cute little pot as a parting gift!) * Additional services like in-house cleanings and teeth whitening I’m very grateful to Hi Smile Orthodontics for fixing my smile! Now I can’t contain myself!

On stage 16 of 28 aligners, and the Invisalign treatment that their consultant recommended is working just as planned. Provided you take good care of your teeth and wear the aligners at least 20 hours a day, Invisalign may just be the right plan for you to get your teeth in perfectly straight order. Also, there was a financial planner that helped me work out a payment plan for the alignment, but since it was affordable for me, I ended up paying ~$4k and was given a discount since I paid up-front in full. Dr. Kamisugi is just as experienced and professional as her father who passed on the business. She also has a very friendly and courteous staff. If only I could have met the original Dr. Kamisugi before when I first got braces, just so that I wouldn’t have to get them now a second time, then I would be eternally grateful!!!

Wow!!!! Where do I start??? This is it!!!! Customer service at it’s finest. Dr. Malia Kamisugi is awesome, but here’s the kicker, So is her staff. Shauncey is absolutely a keeper. They are so lucky to have her. I am so lucky to have her. I have a really hard time keeping track of appointments so here’s what she does for me. She text me the day before my appointment, the day of my appointment, then calls me to remind me that I missed my appointment and patiently reschedules me. Need I say more??? Who does that now days? And who puts up with patients like me??? Problem patients…Well they do!!! And don’t let me forget Ryan!!!! Always a pleasure to see him when I finally get there even though I miss appointments. I have been to many orthodontist in search of one to be able to help me. Most of them said that they were unable to help me. I then remembered that my two sons went to seen Dr. Arthur Kamisugi who took care of their braces needs, so I called hoping to get a consultation. When speaking to the women who answered I told her of my problem and that my boys were patients of Dr. Arthur, she immediately said come in right now and we’ll take care of you. I was so excited and as I walked into the office it brought back so many memories of when my boys were going there as little boys, I was sad to hear that Dr. Arthur retired but was so happy to hear that his daughter took over the business. I remember while bringing the boys there that Dr. Malia just finished her schooling in cosmetic dentistry and was the first to bring invisilines to Hawaii. She is so sweet, she looked at my teeth and said, Mrs. Murao I can help you and since your boys came here, I will give you a family discount. After hearing her say that I felt so happy and relieved. We started the process asap and I am just waiting for my first set of invisilines to come in! I totally recommend Dr. Malia!!
