I’ve been living in the Bay Area for almost 2 years now, but I would always go back to my family dentist to get work done. It’s always really hard to find a good dentist, and I was apprehensive about trying out a new one, but I’m glad I did. Dr. Kanon’s office is very simple but welcoming and friendly. During my first visit, I was pleased to see that it was very hygienic compared to other offices I’ve seen. From my visits I’ve noticed that the staff is very thorough and deeply committed to educating their patients and explaining the procedure every step of the way. I learned things in a few sessions that I had never know because no other dentist or hygienist felt it was important to tell me. That’s one of the most valuable things to me. Since last December, I’ve had my regular checkup there. I’ve also had X-rays taken and a deep cleaning. I was a little apprehensive about the deep cleaning as I’d never had one before, but Ginette, the dental hygienist, made it a very comfortable experience. She was really good with details and you can tell she really cares about doing a good job. She also had good stories to tell, which is a plus for me :). It took me a year and a half to find the best dental office in the area, but I’m glad I finally found it! I would definitely recommend this to people who are looking to try a new dentist.

Dr. Kanon is friendly, professional, very knowledgeable, thorough, informative, patient . . . not enough words to describe how happy I am that I was referred to Dr. Kanon by our oral surgeon. I like that she explained my situation in detail, suggested different treatment options, and summarized everything at the end of my visit. Friendly and organized staff. Office is beautiful, clean, comfortable, organized, and up-to-date. Highly recommended!

Dr. Kanon is an angel in disguise. I could stop here but I won’t. My temp. fell off at 6:30 pm. My periodontist is closed. Called Dr. Kanon and she was still in the office finishing up a long day. She said:”Come on in, let me take care of you.” Next thing I know, I woke up on her chair with my temp. better looking than ever. I FELL ASLEEP. This has never happened and I hope I wasn’t snoring. She is so gentle with her touch and her words that comforted me like a love song. She is like a Yogi dentist. Her office was my meditation room. I have been going so fast that I just release my control to Dr. Kanon and she made me whole, literally and metaphorically. I always walk around believing that today is the day that I will meet my soul mate. With Dr. Kanon’s mastery and exceptionally kind demeanor, I became my enhanced version. Grateful for her staying late to give me a chance to smile.

I have had nothing but Excellent experiences with Dr Kanons’ practice! Hard to say, yes?, (when dentistry is involved.). I moved to the South Bay area about six years ago, and upon recommendation, I signed up with Dr Kanon. If you were to speak to her about my case, you would consider it a ‘project’ with many complicating aspects, such as many cavities, cross-bites, root infection, extractions and eventually referral to teeth alignment and implant. I am in my mid 40s. I was a big project! Over a few years, I spent many hours in the chair at Dr Kanons’ practice, but due to my confidence in her and her very friendly and gentle staff, this was not an unpleasant experience. Far from it! My outcome and experience from such an extensive and very well coordinated program of work on my teeth has been life-changing. I don’t ever write reviews, but felt so strongly in this instance that I should. Being mature in age, I appreciated all her candid commentary along the way during treatment as to what and why procedures were being undertaken. All I can say is that I completely recommend Dr Kanon, no negatives, whatsoever.

Fearful dental compatriots – Rejoice! No need to avoid going to the dentist anymore. I have been a patient of Dr. Kanon (and Linda) for about 10 years and I recommend this dental practice all the time. I had some rough experiences with dental work when I was younger and I came to Dr. Kanon’s office with anxiety and flat out fear! I have since had several procedures (including crowns, restorative work, and cavities) and have never had any issues. I always tell people that she has feather light stealthy moves when working in your mouth (this is not an easy feat, btw, for a dentist with sharp instruments and machinery). She is extremely gentle and there are times that I find myself bracing for pain, but it just never happens. Dr. Kanon always checks to make sure I’m okay. She moves very slowly and explains everything as she goes so that I’m as relaxed as can be. Btw – I used to be quite averse to the numbing shot and I’m not anymore. Why? Dr. Kanon uses her signature 5-step shot procedure: 1) numb with a topical swab, 2) allow time to let the topical actually numb the area (often skipped by dentists), 3) loads the shot out of my view (suddenly a syringe magically appears!), 4) gives the shot while massaging my cheek, and 5) shakes my cheek/jaw slightly. I don’t know if it’s the combination of this series of procedures or that fact that I’m distracted and intrigued – either way – it WORKS! I never ever worry about a shot with Dr. Kanon. So, if you consider yourself a dental wimp, give this office a try. Now, in terms of teeth cleaning. If you are always too busy or avoid this, then you haven’t had Linda as your hygienist. I would go every week if I could. Again, gentle and thorough and easy going. Office staff is great. Automated appointment reminder is a life-saver for me. They take insurance and the location is easy. Office is clean and has wifi to distract you before heading into the treatment room. All in all. Fantastic office team.

Definitely as good as it gets. Dr. Hilda Kanon is the best dentist I have ever been to! Her bedside manner is amazing. I have very sensitive teeth. Linda, the hygienist, is so careful!! She cleans my teeth slowly and in such a manner that I am not gripping the arm-rest (like I used to!) of the chair.  I LOVE the convenience of having a dentist that I love in the neighborhood I live in.  Added plus: Office staff is professional and can square away insurance questions! Absolutely a 5 star rating from me!

I went to see Dr Kanon about 8 months ago when I had Aetna Ins. I was so happy with her and her assistants work, I knew I had found my new Dentist. Since then I’ve changed ins and thought she was still approved. Upon arriving last month, I gave the front desk girl my new ins card and proceeded to wait for my appt. Unfortunately, I found out I signed up for the wrong dental plan when I switched. I had Blue Cross HMO and this office takes PPO. Dr Kanon said she understood if I didn’t want to keep my appt, no charge would be made to me. I’m big on keeping my health up. I knew it was important for both me and my relationship with the office to keep my appointment. I stayed and paid full price for my cleaning. It was not a big deal to me, as it was my mistake. Dr Kanon and her staff are superior to the other dentist I have seen in the South Bay area. They don’t inflate prices, they are honest about what needs to be done, they are gentle and on time. You have a client for as long as I am in the area.

We have been patients of Dr. Kanon for over 10 years. When we moved to the Bay Area in the mid 90’s we visited 3 or 4 dentist offices in our search to find a family dentist. All of those visits were disasters and we were left wondering if there were actually any good dentists practicing in the area. I don’t even remember how we came across Dr. Kanon’s office, but we are fortunate to have found her. In addition to being a stellar professional and providing a completely pain-free dental experience, Dr. Kanon is an terrific person – gentle, calming, and genuinely interested and concerned about her patients. We have referred friends and family to her office, all of whom have become long-time patients as well. In fact, my mother-in-law who is terrified of going to the dentist, felt completely at ease with Dr. Kanon when she visited for a consultation. Dr. Kanon’s staff is professional and competent and the office is modern and bright, yet quaint and welcoming. And, one the rare occasion when we have have a concern or question about billing or service costs, Dr. Kanon has always responded by listening and making the necessary adjustments to resolve issues. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kanon to anyone and we still, after all these years, think that she is a hidden jewel within her profession.

Dr. Kanon and her small team are great. We followed Dr. Kanon from another practice because she was so wonderful with my kids when they were small. We have been so happy with Dr. Kanon, her hygenist Linda is my personal favorite and my husband’s. Dr. Kanon is practical and thorough. She explains options available for fillings, etc. (yes my son was not very good at taking care of his teeth) but she also sent us to a great Orthodontist team for our son. Finding a good dentist and hygenist team is rare. I highly recommend Dr. Kanon and her team!
