You could not ask for more from Dr Mathew’s orthodontic practice. The entire office is run like a well-oiled machine. He and his staff are readily available and interested in addressing any questions or concerns you might have about your child’s orthodonture. Dr Mathew himself has a gentle and attentive bedside manner, can effectively quell anxious parents and kids, shares best options for addressing your kid’s needs, and then tops it all off by giving excellent patient care. Plus, all the numerous follow-up appointments you’ll inevitably need to make to monitor your kid’s care are handled so smoothly and efficiently by the friendly staff at the front desk. Best Orthodontist in NYC! We have been with Hudson River Orthodontics since 2015. Dr. Mathews is the nicest and kindest Doctor we know. He guided my daughter every step of the way from her early on expanders to braces, and now retainers. He and all the staff members (which are fantastic also) have made the visits fun and pain-free as well as quick and easy. We had the best experience there!

So I moved to new york and had braces for quite some time and I looked EVERY WHERE for a good orthodontist to continue my treatment.However, They were either, too expensive, trying to scare me so that I immediately choose them/ doing my treatment all over from the very start. So out of coincidence I happened to find out about Hudson River Orthodontics and Thank god I did.Not only did Dr. Mathew get straight to the point about both mine and my sisters teeth but he was very reasonable and actually seems to care more about fixing your teeth than your money.And they’re very nice and make you feel comfortable, right down to his assistant. I just got my braces off today and I’m extremely happy with it. And I strongly advise anyone wanting to get braces or needing to continue their treatment to go to Hudson River Orthodontics.

After 1 consultation, I’m already a big fan of Dr. Matthew. No one wanted to touch the permanent fixed retainer I got installed 15 years ago post-braces, but he had no problem with talking through options with me. There was absolutely zero pressure to make big decisions on the spot (read: Invisalign) which is a big deal here in the city where everyone is trying to make a buck. He spent plenty of time chatting with me, I never felt rushed and we came up with a plan of attack together. Also want to give a shoutout to the incredibly nice staff, so friendly + I could tell that they genuinely want to build a relationship with each and every patient. Big fan + will feel good about giving them my money when the time rolls around for treatment.

Dr. Mathews worked on my daughters braces from start to finish. He really is unbelievable! So concerned about his patients. A wire was cutting into my daughters gums, I called the answering service and he immediately called back. He was in the area and took a cab on a Saturday night, met us in our lobby and what took under a minute cut the wire. .THERE WAS NO HOUSE CALL CHARGE…….I cant say i know any orthodontist that would do this. REALLY A DEDICATED ORTHODONTIST. HER TEETH LOOK BEAUTIFUL.!!!!! He also was very on time with all appointments. I highly recommend him.

If orthodontics can be a pleasure, that’s the word for our experience with Dr. Mathew. Throughout my daughter’s orthodontic experience he was at once conscientious, funny, kind, enthusiastic and not just knowledgeable but something of an artist. We hit a few bumps in the road–questions like to pull more teeth or not to pull more teeth–and he always had alternate routes in mind. I also believe he tried to keep the years in braces as minimal as possible, without a lot of crazy hardware in my girl’s mouth. We will honestly miss our visits now that her teeth are straight as rails and beautiful! Unlike my own orthodontic experience 100 years ago, this doctor cared about aligning the top and bottom sets of teeth as well. Not only this, the women who work with, for and around him are outstanding. Everyone is beyond nice: conversant, cheery, attentive and humor-filled. I honestly don’t know why people would go anywhere else. Top doc, folks, and I have no ulterior motivation to write this other than being inspired by excellence, kindness and a little bit of impish humor that abounds in the office. My Invisalign wasn’t absolutely, positively, 100% perfect on one back tooth (that no one would ever see!) yet he recommended we add a couple of trays and get it right. No additional charge to boot. A good office may posses two of these qualities, but rarely does one demonstrate all three! As for the treatment itself, Dr. Mathew replaced my bonded retainer with a removable one. He quickly squeezed me in the day after the wire broke, even though he was not the orthodontist who had placed it. He didn’t push any additional procedures on me and answered all my questions thoroughly. I highly recommend this place for all-things orthodontia!

My name is Faith and I am 13 years old. I first saw Dr. Mathew in late August of 2013. At that that time my teeth were very crooked and needed braces. Dr. Mathew was very kind and spoke to me about the process of getting braces. Every time I went to his office he always treated me in a sweet and calm manner. At each appointment he always let me know what the next step was going to be in regards to my teeth and braces. Dr. Mathew’s office environment is warm and welcoming. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Saju Mathew on the Upper West Side. I am an adult patient, but had braces as a kid. I had been having horrible teeth grinding/clenching at night. My dentist made me a very small front tooth bite guard a few years ago that I was not satisfied with. I was happy to get Dr. Mathew’s opinion. He took time to explain the grinding and it’s consequences on my teeth. He took a look at a tooth that had continually been chipping and I felt like he did a careful assessment of my prior dental/orthodontic work. Dr. Mathew fitted me for a bite guard (quick, gum-like mold). The office called me to schedule a pick up and even emailed me to remind me of the appointment one day prior (a pleasant surprise). I returned to pick up the bite guard and Dr. Mathew checked the fit in my mouth: I’ve been wearing it since and my headaches and jaw aches have disappeared! The office was easy to find, bright and cheery. The staff were super friendly and pleasant. Dr. Mathew was extremely professional, warm, and nice — and took the time to answer my questions without feeling rushed. I am very pleased with the outcome on my teeth and would highly recommend him to other patients — adult or child.

Dr. Mathew is one of the nicest and most highly competent orthodontists I have ever met. I went to Dr. Mathew after having completed a year of Clear Correct (like Invisalign) with my dentist. I was very unhappy with the result and decided I needed to see an orthodontist to fix it.
