Dr. Hughes made my second time getting braces such a pleasant experience. Even after getting my braces off 3 years ago, he’s continued to be available for any problems/issues I came across. I have always had a terrible grinding problem, and he always worked with me to find something sustainable. You could not be in better hands.

My daughter was referred to Dr. Hughes by our dentist office. She had major crowding and weird tooth placements. We have been going here for the past year and have really appreciated the knowledge and advice Dr. Hughes offers and it shows he really cares about the care and health of his patients both young and old. The change we saw in the first few weeks was amazing and now a year later I am still amazed at the change still in progress and how easy it has been for my daughter! The office environment and staff friendliness feels like small town charm in the big city. Which is important when you visit often!

My son has been going to Dr. Hughes since Sept 2019 and I have been very pleased with the way they treat my son and in their handling with Covid safety! The staff is always very kind and takes their time to make sure questions are answered and appointments scheduled.

My son has been seeing Dr. Hughes and his team since 2010. Prior to our first appointment, we were turned away from 3-4 other orthodontists because my son is considering “complicated”…as if I needed confirmation. Lol. Over the years he’s had: multiple expanders, three sets of braces, several permanent teeth removed, and major upper and lower jaw surgery…yet he ALWAYS looks forward to seeing Dr. Hughes. The entire crew is welcoming. When a crisis has arisen, Dr. Hughes has personally called me …quickly resolving the issue. The office has accommodated our needs 100% of the time over the course of the last 11 years. I’ll forever be grateful for everything this practice has provided to my family. If I had to use one word to describe the experience…MAGICAL! ⭐️

I am very excited for my future with Hughes Orthodontics as I am an adult in need of braces and this environment is perfect for me. *I have been an adult patient with Dr. Hughes since September 2020 and I have been very impressed. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. Every appointment I have gone to I have been treated with high-quality service. I am kept in the loop at each appointment and I am always leaving with more knowledge than before. My teeth are showing incredible improvement and I am excited for the next year or so that I have left with Hughes Orthodontics.

BEST orthodontic care I’ve received! I hadn’t been to an orthodontist since I was a child, Dr. Hughes was quick to help out with my broken retainer and went above and beyond to reassure me throughout the visit! I’d come back in a heartbeat and am so glad to have an awesome provider for both me and my kiddos! The office was spotless, extremely comfortable and the staff were outstanding in efficiency and creating a warm, fun atmosphere. Hope all my kids need braces, ha! If you or your family need any orthodontic care, Hughes Orthodontics is number one in my book!

Dr. Hughes has successfully straightened three of my girls’ teeth over the past decade, and has even worked on my own teeth! We originally moved to Alexandria after several military moves, but have kept Dr. Hughes now that we live nearly an hour away because of the excellent customer service, superior follow-up, and friendly service. Hughes is a family practice, and therefore everyone on their staff treats you like family. The waiting room is fully equipped recommendas if you are going to be there a while…but there is almost never a wait, they are so quick and professional!! I can’t tell you how many times we have actually been seen *before* our appointment time if we show up 15 minutes early!! I cannot recommend a better orthodontist in the entire Washington DC area! The business staff really works with families to provide the best insurance coverage possible. We can’t love Hughes Orthodontics any more!! There’s magic in their smiles!!

Highly recommend the Hughes crew. They have thought of everything to make “getting braces” a very painless experience for both the parents (insurance/financials were a breeze, never had to wait, they move like clockwork) and the patient (fun incentives, magic tricks, jokes, movie on in waiting area). At our free consultation, we were warmly greeted with a walk-through tour of the office, complete explanation of insurance/payment structure, as well as what we should expect for the treatment process. There are a lot of nice touches at this office, from the movie ticket raffles for patients to fidget cubes to play with while parents chat with the staff, even a little magic from Dr. Hughes himself. I also like how a lot is done electronically: application process was online, quote & receipts sent via email. On the day my son got his braces on, we saw another patient getting them removed and the mini-celebration the staff had for him, it was such a nice touch. We are very happy to have chosen Hughes Orthodontics for our family’s needs.

Super practice! If you’re looking for an orthodontist look no further. They’re progressively professional, impressively hygienic, conscientious & resonate with kids of all ages. My 10 year old just completed phase 1 & loves everything about this practice from the doctors to the dental techs. They even mailed her a thank you note & picture after the first phase & we’re gearing up for phase 2 here as well!

We have known Dr. Hughes and his father for over thirty years. Dr. Herbert Hughes has treated all of our four children for all of our orthodontist work. Dr. Hughes and all of his staff have done a wonderful job. They are very professional and caring. We highly recommend Dr. Hughes and his staff to anyone who wishes to receive excellent treatment and care. Every time we left his office, we left with a sense of joy and content. Between Dr. Hughes’ magic shows and his great touch of friendliness, he is the perfect orthodontist!
