My wife and I purchased the family plan for the year after a friend introduced us to Ideal Dental. It is a great value so we were hoping for a good experience to go with it. I went in for my first 6 month exam and cleaning and, the experience was great (who knew you could say that about going to the dentist!) The staff was very friendly and helpful. The wait time was very short and they did a great job of telling me what was happening. There was a new employee being trained during my visit and even her work was well executed and professional even though I could tell she was still learning her way around this new office. I definitely recommend Ideal Dental to anyone who is looking for affordable dental care in a friendly and professional environment.

Great experience from beginning to end, at least up to this point. A crown (from another dentist) came off and I was able to be seen by Dr. M the same day. Michelangelo was welcoming from the start, and the entire experience was (while I can’t lie and say enjoyable…it’s the dentist!), comfortable. Everything was explained, from treatment to cost, and Dr. M and staff were all very professional and personable. I’ll be back in four weeks for a permanent crown but expect nothing less than the stellar treatment received today.

Dr. Mugianto is phenomenal! He is almost always able to get me in quickly and his staff does it’s best to work with my insurance to get me the best deal possible. I recently had my two top incisors replaced after a decade and a half of damage that left them gray and crooked. Now I have the beautiful smile I’ve always wanted! I can’t say enough good things! The office manager, Yashika, and I joked about the lounge vibe and she answered all of my insurance questions thoughtfully and professionally. I’ve been to this off three times now and every experience was as enjoyable as a visit to the dentist can possibly be. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Scheduling an appointment is a breeze whether you do so over the phone or online. When I arrived I probably had about a 5 minute wait before I was taken back to the exam room. The dentist was in there within another 5 which is a far cry from the 1.5 hours I waited the day before at a doctor’s office. The dentist was extremely nice as was the dental assistant. Both talked to me before getting to work which helped me to relax. I had a crown put in on my second visit and again I was impressed with how fast they got me in and out. The crown has a lifetime guarantee as long as you go in for scheduled visits. I had to go back a 3rd time because I wasn’t sure if my crown was in right but it was. It took less than 20 minutes for them to figure out my issue and fix everything. I had a different dentist and dental assistant than the previous 2 times but they were both great and extremely personable/friendly as well.

It’s at a tucked away location on Lemmon but a very nice one. The waiting area is clean and with coffee and water available. Dentist Long and hygienist Tarsh are great! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. most people hate going to the dentist to have a bunch of tools and hands put in their mouth. Ideal Dental Uptown makes this experience very tolerable and enjoyable. conversation is great and they actually care about your health and well being. they were a little bit busy during my first visit but they made sure that they got me in and out as quickly as they could so that i could get back to the office. i have already recommended them and will continue to recommend them when i am asked where i have my dental work done. I’m giving a dentist 5 stars. This is a big deal. I’ve gone to this office for several years but its recently been purchased by Ideal Dental and so everything has changed. From the office manager to the Dentist everyone was beyond friendly and professional. The service was quick, efficient, NOT UNPLEASANT, informative and friendly. This dentist has done away with the horrible cards in your mouth x-ray technology and moved on to the NOMAD x-ray systems. So much better! I’m so so happy that I will never again have to sit with a very rigid card jammed in the back of my mouth for what feels like an eternity and then be blasted with radiation so high the tech has to leave the room. Now, you stand up, bite down on a little card and this machine circles your head. Then you do have to do a couple of cards in the mouth but its not nearly as bad and the tech has a little x-ray gun that he points at the card in your mouth and takes an x-ray picture. It’s so quick and painless. The bad news is those wonderful x-rays revealed 4 cavities. Uhgg. The good news is that while the dentist and her tech worked on my fillings they happily chatted and complimented one another about their techniques and abilities. It was so nice to be in a happy work environment. The fillings weren’t painful, and the cleaning was excellent. If you need a dentist, try this one!

The times I’ve gone up there have been awesome! The lady in the front does her best to work with you, the doctor is hilarious and knowledgeable, and the assistants know their stuff! Funny how the people complaining about “not getting their cleaning done” are the ones that have gum issues and wanna walk away without being told about it…. grow up IDEAL DENTAL UPTOWN YOU ROCK!!!

I truly DO NOT understand why this business would ever get a low rating. I found the staff quite friendly and helpful and encourage anyone and everyone to go here. Even if you have a bad experience REMEMBER. Not all people are the same and staff can come and go. Just because one experience is bad doesn’t mean the next will be. They explain everything as thoroughly as possible and if and infinity sign could be placed beside those five stars I definitely would have selected it. I refuse to argue with anyone who speaks otherwise.

Ideal Dental on Lemmon is really all you could ask for in a dentist. I have never had to wait more than ten minutes, the up-front staff is very nice, the dentist and his assistants are very professional and do a good job. They don’t up-sell you on random procedures that you have never heard of, and their prices are pretty competitive. I had my wisdom teeth pulled here a few months ago, picking them as they were a combination of closest to my home/best price (I called maybe 5 places in uptown Dallas area). Since then I have gone back for cleanings and made Ideal Dental my regular dentist. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a general dentist in the Oak Lawn area

I started going here when I moved to Dallas because it matched my insurance, and I’m so glad it did. Every time I call in to schedule an appointment the staff is always happy and professional and everyone has been patient when dealing with my weird work insurance and complicated work schedule. They make me feel very comfortable when I ask all of my questions regarding the procedures I get here (cleanings, dental surgeries) and the staff always remembers me and calms my nerves every time I go. I’m so happy I found this place, it is far better customer service than my regular doctor’s office atmosphere. They treat you like a human rather than just another part of their jobs. Who would have thought that a trip to the dentist would be an incredible experience?! Tamara, at the front desk, was extremely pleasant and informative about my insurance. Lets be honest, no one likes going to the dentist, but when you can sit in a dental chair with surrounding staff making you smile, better yet, giggle, you know you’re in good hands. From beginning to end, my appointment was a success! Michael Angelo, Carolina, and Tecia were extremely helpful with explaining finances and insurance, and always offered additional assistance if needed. Dr. Fonville and Dr Mugianto were so endearing, felt like I was communicating with friends as opposed to doctors. The hygienist Carrie was extremely thorough and her up-beat personality kept my intrigued throughout the appointment. All the assistants, Therma, Kia, Morgan, and Dee were like a communicative family getting the job done! Cant rave about this place enough, I’ll be back!

What a FABULOUS experience I had at this dentist. I have no threshold for pain and they were so kind and gracious. Cathy, my technician, did fabulous job and the Doctor is so funny. I laughed the entire time I was there. The front desk administrators are kind and helpful. Such lovely ladies. This wonderful company offers a payment plan, if you qualify, and has a full scope of services that you would only expect at a boutique dentist office. Good for the uninsured: So, I was looking for a cheap, routine cleaning. The first place I called was Ideal Dental on Lemmon. I asked for a deal for someone paying out-of-pocket. The receptionist immediately offered me two options: -$50 for a single cleaning, x-ray, and exam, OR -$100 for two cleanings/exams (the second cleaning/exam would be 6 months from now). PLUS if anything unusual happens to me in the next 12 months, I would get a discount on any work done. It’s almost like a mini-insurance plan. They both sounded like excellent deals. And, since it had been two years since my last cleaning, I signed up for the latter, and I got an appointment for three days later. All right. “Too good to be true?!” I thought. I admit I was slightly worried. I’ve read horror stories on Yelp and other review sites about being tricked into spending $400 or more on some vague “deep cleaning.” But Ideal Dental was upfront. They gave me the OPTION of a $75 dollar upgrade for a “full mouth debridement” for people that have gum disease, and it included a 16 oz bottle of the antiseptic Peridex (online cost starts at $20). I looked it up. I thought about it…Yes, my teeth are overdue for a cleaning, and yes, my gums are inflamed and less-than-perfect, so I paid it, no problem. The office is clean and nice. The dentists, hygienists, receptionist, and manager were all very helpful and professional. For someone that has not had medical or dental insurance since 2007, it was a refreshing experience. Plus: -they’re centrally located in Oak Lawn on Lemmon near the Tollway -the dentist encouraged me and gave me real information without making a million silly jokes -I’m no expert, but their x-ray machine appeared to be brand-new. It was quick and automatic. I will definitely be back!

Going to the dentist is hardly something to get excited over, but if you must go I cannot recommend Ideal Dental in uptown enough. The staff was incredibly friendly, dr. Fonville would not stop cracking jokes (very hard to laugh when someone is digging in your mouth, but it took away the tension) and the experience overall was excellent. The rooms are clean, you can watch some Food Network shows while you’re laying down and even for a root canal I was in and out in an hour. Easily my best dental experience yet.

I love this place! It’s crazy that I’m raving about going to the dentist, but here it is! I came in on a SATURDAY for a cleaning and some wisdom teeth problems. It had been years since my last cleaning, so there were early signs of periodontal disease. It was the result of my lack of maintenance and my wisdom teeth being fully erupted. They had to do a deep cleaning where they went under the gums! I was worried it’d be an uncomfortable and painful experience, but the staff was so friendly and calming, I almost wasn’t fully aware they were cleaning my teeth. After they did the special deep cleaning, the dentist came in to examine my wisdom teeth. Since they were fully erupted, they said they could take them out that day in a simple extraction (no being put under)! The office manager then came in and outlined my bill to me. She explained it line by line to making sure I understood everything before the procedure. I was so shocked that all this happened at a Saturday appointment. I have never had a more positive experience at the dentist!

First let me say that I only go to the dentist when I have a problem. This time, I had the worst tooth ache ever and needed to see a dentist immediately. I called Ideal dental uptown and they got me in for a 10am appt. I arrived at 950am and was I the chair at 10am. I am the WORST nightmare for dentists and have never had a good experience. But, not this time!! Dr. Mugianto, MJ and Bianca were all amazing. I need lots more dental work, and for the first time in over 50 years I’ve finally found a dentist I trust, doesn’t hurt me, and explains everything very clearly. Thank you all!!! Wonderful, welcoming staff! The new patient process is quick and easy, I was seen shortly after filling out my paperwork. Morgan was able to get my x-rays complete very quickly with no discomfort, and was very personable throughout the process. Dr. Long Mugianto was very professional and helpful regarding an ongoing dental issue – he was able to give me specialist referrals right away, and made me aware of what the upcoming process would be like. This has been an ongoing issue that I have avoided and neglected, yet, I was made to feel understood and not frowned upon! My hygienist, Carrie (I hope that’s correct!), was very charismatic, thorough, and made me feel at ease throughout the exam(s). She was very careful and gentle. The front desk staff was able to show me my insurances coverages, the cost of my upcoming procedures, and quoted me for future procedures as well, constantly asking if I had any questions. I have been using this dentist for a few years now and absolutely love it. They never try and overcharge me for unnecessary treatments like Mint and other dentists in the area. The COVID-19 procedures in place made me feel safe and the office is always spotless (even before the pandemic). The workers really care too! Last time I mentioned off hand that I didn’t really care for cherry flavored toothpaste and prefer mint. The dental assistant made a note on my account and to my surprise, during my next appointment they used mint flavored toothpaste automatically. It’s the small gestures like this that will keep me and my family coming back for years to come

I came in for a cleaning that went great. I had a filling from a previous dentist that was bothering me and constantly getting food caught in it. I had this filling redone at a different dentist and still experienced the same problem. Dr. Mugianto was able to completely fix this filling and I have not had any issues, even eating steak! Dr. Mugianto is extremely skilled and caring. I will never go anywhere else for my dental needs. The staff was very friendly and upbeat too!
