Having been patient (as has my daughter as well) of Dr. Gelbart for approx. 5 years in his previous office (before March 2020), I can say, without hesitation, that I am thrilled and delighted that he has now set out on his own.  Indeed his new office on South 7th Street in Center City, near Chestnut, is not only convenient to everything, but is spacious, clean and comfortable. He is an excellent dentist who keeps up with all modern tech (and has even given given seminars on such to other dentists). He has a “light touch” when digging around in your mouth, and he even does same-day crowns, which are fabricated right in the office. He is super responsible about office hygiene. And he is quite compassionate about the predicaments and challenges in patients’ lives. All in all, this is a good guy and a great dentist!

I knew Steve through a mutual friend. While I heard good things about his skills as a dentist, I waited until my old dentist retired before checking him out. Now I can safely say I found my new dentist. First, let’s talk about the office. Clean, organized, and sterile could all be used to describe it. It is pristine! That doesn’t even scratch the surface on what they are doing to support COVID, which just takes it above and beyond. With all the latest equipment and big screen monitors in every room, you’ll be as comfortable as you can be for a dentist appointment. It was great to see the X-Rays and have Steve walk down what he saw. It is also reassuring to know that should an dental emergency come up, he will have everything he needs. Other notables: a friendly staff from the front desk to the dental hygienists. Validated parking across the street should you need. Plenty of space should you need to bring the family in for their check-ups together.

I cant even begin to describe how amazing this Dental group is. Stacey and Dr. Gelbart made me feel so comfortable even though I was getting my mangled teeth fixed. I highly recommend this place for any Philly people looking for an amazing dentist. 100 out of 10 stars!!!!!

After finding out my previous dentist would no longer accept my dental plan, I had to find a new dentist. Dr. Gelbert was opening a new office on 7th Street ( which is two blocks from my work ) So once they opened I went in and made an appointment. I couldn’t be happier. He is a really nice person and staff are amazing ( all very personable and very sweet ). State of the art dental equipment and a very bright and welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend it.

Dr. Gelbart and his staff are absolutely incredible. I ended up having to come in for an emergency tooth extraction, He and his staff stayed late until I got there and removed a tooth that was causing me a great deal of pain. I’m incredibly grateful and extremely impressed with the quality of service and I received, the cleanliness and beauty of the facility and the extremely fair cost I paid after. I highly recommend Independence Dental and Dr. Gelbart.

Yesterday I had the worst tooth ache of my life. My regular dentist office was closed and with all the crazy stuff happening in the world I didn’t want to go to the emergency room. After searching online I was fortunate enough to come across Independence Dental Group. Dr. Steven Gelbart had just opened this new practice which is the cleanest and most modern office I have ever seen. Dr. Gelbart and his staff were accommodating, caring and treated me with respect. I needed a root canal on an upper tooth, and it didn’t hurt at all! The entire process took an hour and I was able to watch butterflies move across a TV screen the whole time. I never thought I could enjoy being at the dentist!
