I brought my 5 yr old to Island Dental Spa for a cleaning and check up, where he was treated by Dr. Maks. Dr. Maks found a cavity in my son’s molar, which made my son pretty nervous! The Dr let me stay in the room the whole time, showed me the problem spot, educated my son on proper brushing and the importance of flossing (which he has been doing every day since!). As you can see in my pictures, as soon as Dr. Maks began working on my son’s cavity, the playful and fun way the Dr. Maks treated my son put him at ease and he was smiling much of the time! He never even knew he received an injection to numb his gums! We are loyal patients of Dr. Maks from here on out. Thank you to Island Dental Spa and Dr. Maks!!

I recently had my teeth cleaned at Island Dental Spa. Let me just say, what a great experience it was!! From the minute I walked in the door, I was greeted with a pleasant smile and offered something to drink as I waited. While waiting for the hygienist to take me back I enjoyed watching the beautiful saltwater fish cruise around, the smell of cookies baking and the soothing spa like music playing almost made me forget I was in a dental office! Then when I did get in the chair the hygienist was very pleasant and put my fears at ease. I was treated to a paraffin hand wax treatment along with a soothing massage chair and movie glasses. Again, made me feel as if I was not in a doctor’s office at all! The cleaning was excellent she was extremely gentle and when I was done my teeth looked so much brighter! While I waited for the dentist to come do the exam I was treated to a glass of wine (white of course cant stain those pearly whites) When the doctor came in the room he was very friendly and genuinely seem to care about my dental health. When he was explaining the work that I needed done, he was able to show me my pictures on the computer screen which made it easier for me to understand. Needless to say I do have a cavity that needs to be done, but this is one appointment that I will be looking forward too! Thanks Island Dental Spa! see you soon!

This is a new dentist for me after moving from Fort Myers and before that living in Illinois. It’s critical that I have a place that is honest and one that doesn’t suggest treatments that are not critical. Having retired, I am footing the dental bills myself and at my age it seems I always need a more expensive solution. That being crown or implants. Teeth tend to fail more as you get older with old fillings and dental work that was done decades ago. Island Dental is the place for me.. I Have had a good experience with Dr. Maks. He’s very professional and understands his patient’s needs. He does not suggest the more expensive procedures if there is another viable option. Recently I had 3 crowns put in side by side and I popped one over the Memorial day weekend. He made it right at no charge. Unfortunately it’s come out again so a more expensive option will be required. The staff here is friendly and caring. Give them a go as they are conveniently located on the island
