From the exceptional service Janean started to a great dental assistant, Dr. Tabornal and Dr. Tran followed up wonderfully. They run a fantastic family practice. To say they are Outstanding Dentists would be an understatement, because they are so much more. They have cared for our family as if we were part of their own, and we love them. As I sit in the office of Dr. Tabornal and Dr. Tran I am reminded of the many visits my family and I have made. Since my first visit at 18 years of age, I have felt welcomed and part of the family. As my family grew there was no question about where my little ones would have their first dental check up, each one of my girls, 4 of them, have all been to this office; there is constant bickering of who will be seen first and by whom. It is clear that both Dr. Tabornal and Dr. Tran love their job and do their very best at each and every visit. I currently travel over 30 miles just to visit this office as I have had less than desired experience at dentist office locations near me. I am not a big fan of corporate chains or offices that care more about over charging my insurance rather than providing quality dental work. Thank you Island in the Hills Dental Office for providing the same quality service for so many years.

As I’ve been to horrible dentists before that entailed allegedly professional dentists poking fun at other patient’s teeth, to have a supporting staff that appears to earnestly want to help is something I am sincerely in awe of. The dentists at Island in the Hill ensure that my welfare is above all the rest — when in surgery or out of surgery, or even after a check up, they call to make sure you’re okay. For those who are deathly afraid of dentists, this is coming from somebody who was on the same page as you not only a few months ago; now I enjoy my visits.

Ugh! The 20 y.o. mesial aspect of #2 had fractured off – a restoration placed by a fellow dental student long ago. Off to Island in the Hills Dentistry. Why this office? In short, its a great office. A professional yet very personal office…and painless (really!) My restoration required a base due to the depth created by secondary caries (decay) underneath – so they used a protective layer that helps strengthen the surrounding tooth structure (wonderful stuff). They use strong restorative material, practice great techniques and and use the latest tools. My wife is a patient and our first daughter completed her orthodontic treatment here. She looks great! I know I’m not the only dentist who comes to Island in the Hills too – they’ve got a really good thing going here. It’s no wonder this is the place a dentist(s) selects for themselves!

Dr. Tabornal, Dr. Tran and the entire staff are extremely professional, courteous, caring and attentive to my needs. The staff notifies me in advance when I am due for a follow-up and/or an appointment. The staff is very accommodating and flexible when I can not make my appointment or need to change it. They operate according to their schedule. They are usually or always on time for me. The room is usually ready a few minutes after my arrival. The office is clean. The atmosphere makes me feel comfortable and at home. Music, or movie is always available. If I’d rather converse the staff would be there for me. I drive 180 miles round trip, 4 times a year to receive the best dental care and personal attention from Dr. Tabornal and Dr. Tran…because…there is no other office that can provide such care for me. I strongly recommend considering Dr. Tabornal/Dr. Tran for your family dentists.

I needed to find a new dentist and looked up the ones local to me. Island in the Hills had consistently wonderful reviews! I was treated very kindly and constantly reassured that I would be taken care of like family. Dr. Tran and her dental assistant were so kind during both the dental cleaning and when filling cavities. They watched me and made sure to take breaks when they saw I needed one, and let me rest my jaw or catch my breath (I was having some allergies during one of the visits and they were so sweet and accommodating!). I am so thankful for them and for the good experience at the dentist’s office that they gave to me! My whole family will be coming here from now on!

When I first moved to SD, I looked and researched for a great dentist. I actually went to another one before I came to Island In the Hills and I was not impressed. I felt like every dentist I went to recommended procedures that I didn’t need and charged an arm & leg! Fortunately, I found Dr. Tran and Dr. Taburnal and have been a patient for almost 4 years! They made me and my family feel welcomed and never tried to recommend things that didn’t need to be done!! They are always very honest, very informative and flexible with my busy schedule and the distance we would have to drive ( I have 5 kids and live in Murrieta – 60+ miles away)!The great staff is always caring and understanding and not once did I feel uncomfortable or pressured! I would definitely recommend Island In the Hills Dentistry to anyone and everyone looking for a dentist! If I have to drive more than 60 miles for a dental appt, then that tells you something!!

We are a general practice with an emphasis on comprehensive, conservative dental care . “Personalized dental care with a gentle touch for all ages “ has been our practice motto since opening in 1994. Complete Dentistry with the standard for Excellence: Cosmetic, Family, Implants, Orthodontics and Preventative services. Dr. Allison Tran received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of CA Irvine (UCI) and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of CA Los Angeles (UCLA). Following graduation, she gained an extensive background in pediatric dentistry associating at Children’s Dental Building and at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Dr. Tran was raised in Orange County, California, and is very active with volunteering work through her church and community. She thoroughly enjoys the outdoors and participates in her three daughters’ unending activities! She is the epitome of the term “supermom”. She is passionate about health and nutrition and is a strong advocate in environmentally-conscious improvements, i.e.” green movement”. Combining the art and science of dentistry into a tool for healing is her passion.
