I had the best experience you could think of when going to the dentist. The staff was extremely professional, polite and so welcoming. From the time I walked in I felt special, lol I owned the place. At first I was scared because I don’t have insurance. But that was not a problem. They have a great and very affordable in house insurance plan with a 1 time payment for AH WHOLE YEAR !!!! I have been going to see Dr.Helmy for a couple of years now and he is the best dentist I have ever gone to. I am really picky about who does my dental work and I absolutely hate going to the dentist, it is always an uncomfortable situation for me. But, when I started seeing Dr. Helmy, I didn’t have the same fears and phobia because he and his staff made me feel so comfortable. Having graduated from Nova Southeastern University Dentistry School, Dr. Helmy is very skilled with bonding work, implants, and new techniques used for dentistry. Dr. Helmy has fixed two of my front teeth with bonding and he does all of my cleanings, xrays, and cavities for me. I don’t have insurance so Dr. Helmy has worked with me on the price. I purchased his care plan which lasts for a year and it has made the dental visits affordable. I spent years avoiding the dentist because it made me feel uncomfortable or nervous and now I am happy to go because I genuinely feel that the staff and Dr. Helmy himself really do care about their patients. Unlike most dentists who want to get through a client fast, Dr. Helmy cares to ask how I am doing and spends a lot of time on my teeth. He never rushes me out and I always leave happy because he takes the time to make sure they are perfect. When it comes to dental work, I would not recommend any one else except for Dr. Helmy.

I am appalled by the negative reviews I see on this yelp. I have been a patient of Dr. Helmy and iSmile dental for around 8 years. I have had major dental work done including root canals, veneers, and cavities filled as well as regular maintenance. This practice has been fairly priced, incredibly responsive, and the best dentistry I have experienced in my 50+ years of life. Any problem was always taken care of at the practices cost. If things weren’t done perfectly the first time which often happens in dentistry, the doctor would do it over again with concern and care. Dentistry is far from easy and each person’s individual mouth is an opportunity for the unpredictable to happen. I went to see these people with horrible teeth and a lifetime of bad, painful dentistry. Dr Helmy Changed my life, appearance, and trust of dentists. In fact, for a brief period I had dental insurance that didn’t cover him but still went to him and paid out of pocket. This doctor is the furthest from a Con Man I can ever imagine. His wife does everything in running the office to make the patient comfortable and finding a solution to a problem within your budget. Anyhow I stand by this practice of dentistry and my personal experience and professional evaluation. You will not find a more talented dentist with his much integrity as Dr Helmy.

VERY PLEASED. I needed a cavity filled ASAP. I called on Thursday during the COVID 19 issue and had an appointment that next day on Friday. No one was there expect the Dentist and his wife, Maryanne, who worked the desk. The office was very clean and organized. I expressed how desperately scared I was of needles and he broke down the steps of what would happen, he told me to tell him if I felt any discomfort and the process was very fast and efficient. I felt like he really knew what he was doing. BEST DENTIST I’VE EVER HAD! Hands down, Dr. Helmy is the best dentist I’ve had since childhood. This is an excellent practice. Dr. Helmy is extremely thorough and explains everything he does from start to finish. His manner of care is gentle and precise (he really knows how to give an injection so that you hardly feel a thing). I am in the middle of having crown work done after a root canal and a broken tooth, so I’ve had two, long appointments with Dr. Helmy and another one scheduled in a few weeks. He is a perfectionist. His assistant, Juan, is wonderful as well (super personality). Dr. Helmy’s wife is lovely and also assists him on occasion. And lastly, his office assistant, Sue, is very helpful and kind. The atmosphere in this practice is immaculate, calming, and nothing about it screams chaos or too busy to provide personalized care. Dr. Helmy has a very calm and professional demeanor, and laughs easily. While this may seem odd for me to include, I find that most people would prefer an easygoing, kind medical professional as opposed to aggressive and domonstrative; I know I do. During both of my appointments I noticed that other patients who were at the front desk checking out appeared to be very satisfied with their visits as well. This speaks volumes. My first appointment was a consultation to explain what needed to be done, and his office broke down the cost of what I could expect for two options depending upon the course of treatment I would need based on the outcome once Dr. Helmy examined a particular tooth. I was able to plan financially and really appreciated this information. His fees are fair and customary. Lucky for me, I did not need an implant. Dr. Helmy referred me to another dentist for a root canal, and his referral was excellent. I never thought I would say I enjoy going to the dentist, but with Dr. Helmy, I have no anxiety or worry with my appointments and, the pain level has been minimal at best. I’m relaxed and know that I’m in excellent hands. I highly recommend iSmile.

I needed a periodontal deep cleaning and scaling and was dreading it because I haven’t been to a dentist in I can’t even remember how long, definitely over 10 years. I was told by a dentist in the military if I didn’t have this periodontal cleaning done, I could lose my teeth. I explained my concerns to Dr Helmy and he made it seem not so bad during the examination. Then the day of the deep cleaning I was dreading it as I knew there was a lot of work to be done. When it was over and I got out of the chair it wasn’t anywhere NEARLY as bad as I thought it was going to be. ZERO pain, ZERO discomfort, just outright truly phenomenal work. I’m incredibly happy with the results and my oral health. I will not go to any other dentist! I even recommended a buddy to go see him that needed a bond, and he was more than happy with the results. A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR

Dr James Helmy was born in Miami, FL, and was raised in South Florida his whole life. He graduated Summa Cum Laude at Florida Atlantic University, then received his D.M.D. from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. Since then he has engaged in post-graduate courses in multiple fields of dentistry, including prosthetics, oral surgery, and implantology. He has been a member of multiple associations including the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and the American Dental Implant Association. He originally entered dentistry because of his love for serving people and especially for the ability to provide health and healing to patients hands-on. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, writing, sports, and serving at his local church.
