I don’t write reviews often but when I do, it’s because a review was deserved not only for the person/organization but for you the reader. Mind you, I am not a fan of pain and I don’t visit the dentist as often as I should because of it. I saw Dr. Tunzi for the first time today under urgent circumstances. The staff (Laura & Christine) were polite and professional. The property and office were really clean with a magnificent view of the western horizon. Dr. Tunzi performed the procedure (what I thought for sure would be a a painful bloodbath), on my tooth with great precision and care. Contrary to my expectations, Dr. Tunzi explained each step that he was about to perform. He was very calm, relaxed and professional throughout the process which intern caused me to be more calm and relaxed. This experience was so good, that I chose to schedule a follow-up for regular dental maintenance. I would easily recommend Dr. Tunzi to my friends and family. If you’re looking for a dentist, you can stop now this is the one for you!

I went to Dr. Tunzi after hearing lots about him from the Orthodontist next door, Dr. Pita. I’ve always walked by this office and seen patients come out smiling and satisfied. And I have to say… I’m right there with them. I’ve been a patient for a while now and I absolutely love this office and staff. Dr. Tunzi is the best dentist I’ve ever experienced…. I wish I could refer everyone I know to him. Also LOVE how they send me multiple texts and reminders bc I always forget my appointments. SO HELPFUL!!! AND you can schedule online! I have been a patient for probably 20 years now. Over that time I have received nothing but consistently good care both from Dr. Tunzi but also the whole office staff, many of whom have been there a long time. The Dr. always explains exactly what will be done and what to expect. No surprises. I have had everything done from simple fillings to root canals, dental implant crowns and partials. I would very much recommend him.

Everyone there have been so great! The lady at the front desk who makes my appointments and does the follow ups is very friendly and goes out of her way to help accommodate mine and my daughter’s schedules. The hygienist was a pleasure and very thorough with my cleaning as well. Dr. Tunzi was very personal and answered all my questions and discussed plans on future procedures, etc. Would gladly refer them to anyone!

Teeth are annoying little guys. We depend on them daily and yet they are high maintenance and more expensive than a gold digger princess. Even those with dental insurance can attest to the moans and groans of dental bills. I DON’T have dental insurance and basically live with teeth pain and issues until there is no getting around the fact that I have to get some help. I’ve been living with a chunk of a molar missing and excruciating pain for months. Luckily, I was a step ahead of some folks as I already know the tooth in question that is causing the pain versus having no idea what is going on in my mouth. I initially called Dr. Tunzi’s office to determine my next steps. I explained to the receptionist that a chunk of my tooth is missing (that I probably need a root canal) and that I am in extreme pain. I explained my financial situation that I am unemployed with no insurance but do have a Care Credit account for dental work (they accept Care Credit here). The receptionist was extremely caring and not just on a professional level. She was truly sympathetic to my situation, tried to calm me, and didn’t just treat me in a clinical manner. She said she would personally talk to Dr. Tunzi to see if we could take one X-ray versus multiples being that I am low on funds and I know which tooth is causing my issue. She called back saying Dr. Tunzi suggests a consultation and X-ray but we could take one and use Care Credit. I went ahead and made an appointment. I then received another call pointing out that the receptionist looked up my Care Credit account and there were issues which prompted me to give Care Credit a call. I applaud DR. Tunzi’s office for truly caring about all aspects and in an efficient manner.

I’m very, very picky when it comes to dentists. I usually do things by referrals but I found Dr. Tunzi through 1-800-Dentist. Call me lucky! Dr. Tunzi and his staff are wonderful. They are so professional, nice, caring and Dr. Tunzi has great bedside manners. The hygienists take their time to clean every single tooth, back and front. Their new office in Burbank is gorgeous. So clean, nice and you have wonderful views while sitting on the chair. Dr. Tunzi is gentle and has a light hand so you never feel any pain or anything weird. He just simply gets the work done. Couldn’t be happier with this place and highly recommend.

Kind, Sincere & Professional! First of all, they honor your appointment time and don’t leave you waiting for 20 plus minutes before seeing you. They don’t leave you in the dental chair and tend to other patients in the middle of a procedure. When I’m there I feel like I matter. The staff is so kind, including, Isabel, Laura, Denise & Annik. Dr. Tunzi is very kind and explains everything that he is doing during a procedure; it’s very nice to know what’s going on while he’s working on my teeth. I would highly recommend Dr. Tunzi to anyone and have already referred him to many of my friends & family.

My husband loves this office. After changing from our long time dental office, he had a brief bad experience with another Burbank dentist. But thankfully we found Dr T, and all is well with the world. They are very sensitive to a patient’s discomfort and do everything to alleviate it. Damn! I was going to write this review 6 months ago at my last checkup but was too lazy and now someone else got to be first – oh well. I just had a checkup this week. Let me preface by saying I HATE the dentist. I’m not scared about pain, but I’m very claustrophobic and hate people touching me so it’s always an unpleasant experience. Its become worse for me since they moved their practice from Glendale to Burbank a few years ago. The old office might have been more dilapidated, but it was huge and open (they shared space). Now it’s in the 6th floor of a medical building with nice views but the space itself seems so small in comparison. But even with my woes, I’ve stuck around with this place for 7-8 years now because Dr. Tunzi and all his staff are very professional and well-organized, they don’t try to sell you any unnecessary procedures, and all my visits are quick and fairly painless. I was about to say they are really patient even though they don’t see many ‘dental cowards’, but let me rephrase that. Wendy, the dental hygenist, is super patient with me and always makes me feel at ease. Thanks Wendy. Dr. Tunzi, while cool, is all business. What do I mean? Well, the first time I went in I had 7+ cavities to fill (it had been a few years since I had been to a dentist because of the fear). I started wimpering/avoiding the needle to numb my mouth and Dr. Tunzi straight out said, ‘I’m not going to talk you into anything. Either you want to do this now or you don’t and you can leave’. From that day I always tell my husband ‘ Dr/ Tunzi doesn’t play games!!!’. But he isn’t really mean or anything, just like I said, he’s ALL business, which in the end I like because I know he is going to do everything quick and efficient. And after the initial year or two of coming in, I haven’t had any cavities or problems so I’m very happy that I come here.

I’ve been to Dr Tunzi a couple times now and have always had great experiences. The nurses are really gentle and friendly. I have always been scared of the dentist and shake whenever the drill is turned on. After I had a filling during my last checkup, dr Tunzi called me after to check up on me because I was so nervous. The office is very clean and welcoming with plenty of parking in the lot (just don’t forget your parking token from the front desk). I’d definitely recommend this office to anyone.

I must say that I have been going to this dentist for a very long time. He is simply the best family dentist anyone could ask for. The best part is that he is very honest! If he feels you could get by without taking out your whole savings he will see to it that the most efficient procedure is done while taking everything in consideration. Big plus it does not hurt! I found Dr.Tunzi’s office through blue cross suggestions since I have limited coverage (which is basically nothing) through them for insurance. Went in for a cleaning and xrays and all the dentists were extremely thorough with their process. So I kind of hate going to the dentist and have some lingering trauma from previous experiences as a child. I happened to have a couple small cavities and went back a couple months later to treat them, not looking forward to it. In the end it was probably the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Dr.Tunzi is a total pro and I didn’t feel any anxiety or discomfort when he numbed my mouth. Also check out this view! This place strangely feels fancy but without the fancy price tag.

Without question, my experience with Dr. Tunzi and his staff has been the most positive of any dentist I have ever been to. Dr. Tunzi was totally professional and diagnosed the issue I had with extreme precision and a great depth of knowledge. I ask a lot of questions, and he was very patient with me and answered all of my questions and concerns. The procedure to prep my tooth for a crown went great. I have never had someone drill on one of my teeth and feel absolutely no pain whatsoever. Thank you Dr. Tunzi. Your staff is awesome as well. Laura got me in for a visit ASAP. The dentist… does anyone enjoy going? Yep, that’s what I thought… Well, if you need to go (and to be honest, oral hygiene is ultra important) – I highly recommend Dr. Jack Tunzi and his staff. Laura in the front office is extremely helpful and patient. She was able to answer all of my questions and confirm my insurance benefits. Denise is also super accommodating. She went out of her way to make me feel at ease and explain the process at their office. Annik (hygienist) made the cleaning quite tolerable. Hey, I am not going to claim it was fun or enjoyable…. because that’s impossible. 😉 Dr. Tunzi is beyond thorough and professional. He is also warm and communicative. I can’t believe its taking me this long to write a review. As cliche as it sounds “I don’t like going to the dentist”. But after countless dental offices where I have made an appt. and never returned, I have found a dental office that I hope to go to until Dr. Tunzi retires. From the front receptionist/scheduler, to the hygienist, to Dr. Tunzi himself the entire experience was pain free and overall a wonderful experience. Everyone is so nice and friendly. Both visit I was in and out of there in no time. Both the hygienist and Dr. Tunzi use techniques to make the entire process easier on the patient. I had to get a cavity filled and I couldn’t believe how easy the process was ( I was dreading the appointment the entire week prior) . I can honestly say that I am looking forward to my next cleaning!! You guys have a great team!!

Dr. Tunzi is GREAT! I am so picky about my dentist, more so than even a doctor. The dentist is right there in your mouth, either causing pain or NOT. I wanted the option for laughing gas since I always had the option and Dr. Tunzi offers that. I found Dr. Tunzi through 1-800 DENTIST and I could not be happier. He had very big shoes to fill with my old dentist Robert Foster who retired and I am SO SO happy I found Dr. Tunzi. He gives great shots (Novocaine) and I am happy with my fillings and crowns that I have received!!! Plus a great VIEW of the Burbank Hills and San Fernando Valley!!!

Prior to me going to Dr. Tunzi I had not been to the dentist in 10 years! I know that’s bad but I had really bad past experiences at dental offices. I actually found Dr. Tunzi through 1-800 dentist, I indicated my fears and concerns and they suggested Dr. Tunzi. I am so happy they did. He is thee most gentle dentist, he explains what he is doing every step of the way, and I BARELY feel the needle when he gives me my shots which is a plus for me because that was one of my fears. I recently had to have a filling and a cap that went really well; the next day I got a call from Dr. Tunzi checking on me to make sure everything was fine! His staff is also very nice. Cindy is my hygienist and she is great! I have recommended Dr. Tunzi to some of my co-workers who have also gone to him and received the same professional, caring treatment. I would highly recommend him to anyone else.

First visit and I am really impressed with this Dr. Tunzi and his staff. My dental insurance changed and I was forced to look for a new dentist after going to the same dentist for the last 14 years. A good friend of mine referred me and I am really happy she did. I can’t think of anything that could be improved at this office. All the staff are so professional, skillful and organized. They mailed me all the forms to fill out prior to my appointment. When I arrived I only waited a couple minutes and then I was off for x-rays with Denise. They have a new x-ray technology where you can see your x-rays pop up immediately on the lap top in front of you. No developing necessary. Then Annika took me to her chair for a very thorough teeth cleaning. She checked the x-rays and noticed a couple areas that might need attention and noted them for Dr. Tunzi. Then she proceeded to do a great job cleaning and checking my teeth. She also checked my gums to make sure they were in good shape. Dr. Tunzi came by at the end to do a very thorough exam. He checked all previous fillings and crowns, the x-rays, did a cancer screening exam and checked each tooth individually. All was well with my teeth and gums, so no other treatment was needed.

(I posted the review below in 2007 under Dr. Tunzi’s former Glendale address, so I’m reposting it to the new location) A family friend referred me to Dr. Tunzi and I’m not turning back! He is great because he explains everything to you as or before he’s doing it, letting you know how things will feel, how long it will take, how much longer until he’s done, etc. It makes you feel more at easy with any procedure because you’re not sitting their inventing things and thinking the worst. Very competent, attentive, and thorough. AND THE BEST PART is the way he administers injections. I hate shots. BUT…. he gives the shots soooo slowly that you don’t even feel the “pinch” of a normal one. Yes, it’s weird to have a shot take a full minute as opposed to 5 seconds, but you don’t feel it at all! I’ve had nothing but great experiences and have sent others, some of whom have not been to the dentist in years and they were just as pleased. Note: They only take dental PPOs, so make sure this is what you have

I wish I knew about Dr. Tunzi and his amazing staff years ago! Last year I decided to find a new dentist that was local and in-network. I contacted 800-Dentist and used Yelp to narrow my choice. I feel like I found a buried treasure! When making my first phone call to book a cleaning, I mentioned my fear of the dentist and I was booked with Annik who did an amazing job. She was extremely gentle and told me what she would do every step of the way. Next came Dr. Tunzi and he is outstanding. I had to go back several times for some work I needed, as well as some corrections from my past. He was very gentle and also told me what he would do every step of the way. Sad to say my last dentist didn’t do the best work, but very happy Dr. Tunzi was able to correct it. He also called me after my big procedures to check on me…very sweet! The office is super clean and very quiet. Shout out to all the ladies in the office!!! Great team.

Office Philosophy and procedures: Recent advances in technology have changed many things, and dentistry is no exception. Digital x-rays, digital photography, ultrasonic and ultraviolet advances have allowed us to provide our patients with the latest in dental techniques and materials. Combining that with many hours of continuing education, we are confident in the state of art dentistry we provide. Our office also follows all recommended protocol to insure the cleanliness and sterilization of all equipment, and therefore, the protection of our patients is assured. What to expect at first visit: Although each patient presents with their own individual needs, for most patients the first visit consists of meeting the staff and Dr. Tunzi, gathering all pertinent information, dental x-rays, and dental prophylaxis. Many times the patient's needs can be addressed by the end of the first visit, although in some cases where more extensive treatment is required or desired, a follow up visit will be scheduled to address any patient concerns and develop a treatment plan. Rest assured that no treatment will ever be performed without the patient's complete understanding of their needs and goals. We are ready and dedicated to providing you with the best dental care possible. Dr. Jack Tunzi received his bachelor of science degree in Biology from California State University, Los Angeles, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from U.C.L.A. He is a member in good standing of the California Dental Association and the San Fernando Valley Dental Society. Dr. Tunzi is a native Californian, and resides here with his wife and three children. His interests include camping, golf, and playing bass guitar in a blues band.
