Dr. Jacobsen is second in line to an Orange County orthodontic legend. Some time ago, Dr. J bought the practice of the venerable Dr. Sheridan who treated me for my braces back in the early 90s, along with what seemed like half of the OC. Dr. Jacobsen treated me after I had my braces removed in 1997 for appliances, and again now for appliances and TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder). Did you know that if you have your wisdom teeth extracted as an adult you may develop TMJ? I did. Yay. Fortunately, Dr. Jacobsen is here to make sure that my appliances fit properly, and that my straight teeth and charming smile stay that way. His rates are very reasonable. My appliance checks and TMJ rivals are only $75 and repairs and adjustments to the appliances in-house are only $75. Certainly, if you’re looking at braces or Invisalign you’re going to pay significantly more, but you’ll be in very competent hands. The office is located on the southeast corner of the busy intersection of Santa Ana Canyon road and Imperial Highway in Anaheim Hills, near Canyon High School. The only entrance to the parking area for the office is off the eastbound side of Imperial Highway before you get to Santa Ana Canyon Road. So, if you’re not coming from that direction, make sure you leave extra time to get through the lights. You have to go up to the light by the high school and wait to make a u-turn. If you have a morning or afternoon appointment during a time that the high school may have students coming or going, the lights can take a long time. Plenty of parking once you get here. You’ll be spending some time with your jaw open, so bring some lip balm for later. Also, not an appointment you want to make if you need to meet someone you need to impress later because your shirt will be wrinkled and your hair will get a little mussed from the chair and the treatment. Unavoidable.

There are lots of great orthodontists out there but the customer service at Jacobsen was what sold me on them. When we walked in for our first visit they greeted my son by name stating “Hi, you must be Connor. I’m Elsa and this is Tracey”. Then they proceeded to give us both a tour of the office. This made my son feel so much more at ease and I was thrilled. The extra personal touch they add means everything and I would highly recommended them.

I got braces on in preparation for jaw surgery that I had scheduled several months later. My teeth had to be positioned in a specific way for my surgery. Great place to get your braces done. I was a bit concerned when ownership changed but I feel like I am still in good hands and I really like that the new orthodontist steps in and actually help his technicians out. When I first came here I did like some of the equipment they use like the X-ray machine they don’t have to put an annoying device in your mouth that makes you want to throw up just to do an X-ray of your teeth. Dr. Jacobsen is the BEST OF THE BEST! Let me first start by saying, over the years I’ve had my fair share of orthodontists (4+). Dr. Jacobsen was the last and best BY FAR. He has a way of caring for his patients like none other, listening to their every need and concern. He and his staff are amongst the friendliest you’ll find in the high desert, Inland Empire and into LA. And the office is always updated and clean. I recently brought my daughter to Dr. Jacobson to start phase 1 for braces. She was a long time thumbsucker and her pallet needed to be first expanded to accommodate her new teeth coming in and get her ready for braces. I’ll have to admit that I solely chose Dr. Jacobsen based on his contribution back to the community. He is a local supporter of our elementary school and many parents raved about how great he was. My first impression of the office was first and foremost over the telephone. The staff was gracious and accommodating. Our first consultation was extensive and it appears he has the latest in technology. I never had braces so I couldn’t tell you! The office is keenly decorated in a sports theme and well designed with iPads in the lobby. It’s very clean with little sinks with disposable pre-filled toothbrushes to accommodate kids coming in right after school so that they can brush their teeth. The main treatment room is open concept with chairs widely spread apart with individual TVs. I think I am most appreciative of the staff accepting my 2-1/2 year old running around. It’s hard to keep him in the main room as well as my soon-to-be six year old who they welcome to come freely in the back with her sister. We have had several appointments since and each visit has been pleasant. Dr. Jacobson’s bedside manner is professional and he’s very well mannered.

Just got my braces on today! This will be my second time getting braces, but first time here. Major differences from my previous orthodontist. I was visiting Anaheim for my daughter’s dance competition, when one of her brackets popped off and she was in an unexpected level of pain. She could not wait until Monday to get home to have this repaired. I called several offices with no luck. I called Dr. Jacobsen’s office and I was greeted by a welcoming voice who quickly figured out how to get my daughter in the same day. Once at the office my daughter was quickly taken back and treated. He was knowledgeable, friendly and gracious with his time and treated us as if we were one of his regular patients. Our family absolutely loves this orthodontist office! Both Dr. Jacobsen and Dr. Maleeh are beyond kind, knowledgeable and gentle. All of the staff in office are friendly and helpful. This has got to be one of the best decorated medical offices I’ve seen. Ocean theme painted throughout and a separate play room set just off to the side of the waiting area with books and blocks for the little ones to play with while you wait. My daughter has traditional braces and I have Invisalign. We are both happy with the progress so far. I am so thankful they have re-opened after quarantine to continue our treatment. They have always been super clean and now, during this pandemic, there are additional levels of sanitation and precautions taken to protect everyone. My daughter and I continue to feel safe going here and have them working in our mouths in this uncertain time. This office is great! First off, I’m a very fearful patient. The staff here was very patient with me and gave me all the time I needed to undergo orthodontic treatment. I took a little longer than most to finish the process due to absolutely hating any sort of dental work. Each member of the staff that I encountered here was amazing to work with. The office is always clean, bright and upbeat with cool music to listen to. The Dr. did an amazing job and all the little spaces that were between my teeth and gone. Beautiful, kid-friendly office and amazing staff! They include so many nice touches that really make the experience a great one. When I bring my daughters for their appointments, their names are written on a “welcome” chalk board, which really does make them feel welcomed. We sign in on a computer, which automatically generates their photo, which is kind of cool. So far, they have always pulled us back right away. A yummy coffee/tea keurig station is set up. The entire office is filled with ocean decor/pictures/murals, which as my kids put it, “is so much better than staring at pictures of teeth.” There is a little playroom for younger kids. The staff is extremely friendly. Upbeat music is playing on the radio. It is a bright, cheerful atmosphere. When my daughters got their braces on, they received their own bag of goodies including an electrical (rechargeable) toothbrush. The staff takes their time to explain everything clearly, and they put you at ease. My girls are offered yummy cookies after their appointment. I could go on and on…I highly recommend this office – they’re wonderful.

My mother in law had here braces done by Dr J in the 90s. My husband had his done in the late 80s. Both of them loved Dr J enough to send our nine year old son here for his first phase of his braces. I love the results and I honestly didn’t think I would be able to afford braces this easily. The office is so clean and nice. Dr. Jared Jacobsen chose to pursue a career in orthodontics as a result of his positive experience as a patient while in treatment, and is passionate about the opportunity to enhance people’s lives through shaping beautiful smiles. After completing his undergraduate education at BYU, Dr. Jacobsen received his dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco, with honors in 1998. Dr. Jacobsen then completed the 3 year post-graduate program at the University of Southern California, where he received both his Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s Degree in Craniofacial Biology. Dr. Jacobsen provides orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults using either braces or Invisalign. Dr. Jacobsen became an Invisalign Premier Provider in 2009, a distinction awarded to only the top 5% of all Invisalign providers. Dr. Jacobsen remains current in the latest advances in orthodontics through continuing education. Dr. Jacobsen has presented lectures to his peers at the Orange County Dental Study Club on topics such as “Phase 1 Interceptive Orthodontic Treatment in Children,” and “Restorative Treatment Decisions to Achieve Optimal Esthetics in Orthodontic Treatment.” As a testament to his dedication to both the study and practice of orthodontics, Dr. Jacobsen was voted by his dental colleagues as a Top Dentist in Orange County as featured in Coast Magazine. In his spare time, Dr. Jacobsen enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole, and their five children. An avid sports fan, he also enjoys watching college and professional sports.
