To put it shortly, Dr. Kakos & Associates are hands down the best in the dental industry – not only in hygienic dentistry, but also in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. They are also experts at handling patients like myself, who have a natural fear or phobia of anything dental-related. I highly recommend Dr. Kakos & Associates for ALL of your dental needs – from regular dentistry to cosmetic reconstruction! The staff is amazing & their work is amazing …. I can’t stress it enough. For a little more detail on why I feel so strongly about Dr. Kakos and Associates, please read on: I was referred to Dr. Kakos after searching for a dental practice that utilized patient-care practices and aides for patients with dental phobias, and that could also handle cosmetic reconstructive dentistry as well as general dental care and wellness. I needed to find an office that handled these things, because due to an ulcer and the acid it generated, I had been dealing with severe dental sensitivity and pain, as well as the literal physical breakdown of my teeth, and also aesthetic deterioration. Dr. Kakos’ office was referred to me because they were willing and able to accommodate my personal fears, as well as address my dental pain and repair, or reconstruct, my teeth. From my initial appointment at Dr. Kakos’ office, I knew that I had found THE office to handle these extensive problems; my research on Dr. Kakos & Associates had already given me a clear view of the various accolades, awards, and certifications that Dr. Kakos and his staff held, as well as photos of reconstructive work that they had done on patients with similar issues to my own. After meeting the team, my research was proven true, my fears were put at ease, and I felt that I was in the best hands possible. Fast forward to the present – and I am in the last stages of a dental treatment plan that was discussed after my initial assessment. From that initial assessment forward – Dr. Kakos and his staff have been there to guide me through each step of this larger dental plan, both taking care of my personal fears and well being, but also providing top-notch dental care. The road from initial appointment through where I am at today has included personal accommodations like emergency visits and appointments, two major operations performed by Dr. Kakos as part of the reconstructive process, tooth removal, pain treatment, dental implant placement, non-removable temporary bridges while implants were healing, through individual porcelain crowns placed atop the implants. Through each appointment, I have also been treated with care regarding my fears, and have been able to take advantage of the anesthetic and anxiety control, tools that the office was able to provide for me when necessary. I have also, even on the day of an operation, never had to leave the office without teeth in my mouth, and I never had to use a dencher or other removable dental piece while implants and stitches were healing, etc. – somehow, Dr. Kakos and his team were able to make me “temporary” teeth that were cemented in, and would stay in until the next step in the process (months at a time!). This was a big deal for me, because as a professional in my 30’s, missing, damaged, and/or removable teeth (even if they were only a temporary means to an end) were unacceptable to me. Now, not only have my dental issues been corrected, my pain stopped, sensitivity eradicated, and my fears of dental work significantly subdued; but, I also have a more beautiful smile than I ever could have hoped for – without a sign of the original damage in sight! And, though I have crowns and implants – my teeth look beautiful without looking fake, unnatural, or fabricated at all!

Outstanding dental staff! I highly recommend Dr James Kakos if you are looking for a dentist who explains very clearly what needs to do for treatments for your gums and teeth. He also has the latest and greatest technology. Also his staff including the dental hygienists are the best I have even had, very gentle with cleaning and my comfort with my sensitive gums is always a priority. Very clean and safe office as well which is appreciated during these covid times.

The staff at Dr. Kakos office are truly top notch! You will not find a more professional and patient group. From the front office staff to the hygienists and doctors, they are accommodating, understanding and informative. Dr Kakos and his staff are the finest in Chicagoland. Needing major restorative work, I researched the dentists Chicago magazine deemed to be “tops”. 13 years later, I am still 100% satisfied with the quality of care,  professionalism, and state-of-the-art practices and materials they employ. Have recommended them and will continue to do so.

The staff are very friendly and will help you with whatever you need. Dr. Kakos is patient friendly and I never seen him upset or not smiling. He talks to you about everything he will be doing and caters to the health issues that you have and accommodates for you. I would recommend him and his practice.

I recently underwent extensive dental/medical work/surgery and Dr. Kakos and his Team were fantastic!   I was anxious about the work to be done and Dr. Kakos was reassuring and had me well prepared pre and post op.  I consider Dr. Kakos not only a skilled specialist with the latest technology, but also an artist!  The office staff are also wonderful!

Thank God for finding this amazing Doctor!!! I had to switch dentist and was referred to see Dr, Kakos, my first visit was for a cleaning, my hygienist was very  thorough, after my cleaning was done Dr. Kakos came and introduce himself and did a brief exam.  He informed me that because I was a new patient I needed to come back for a comprehensive examination thank God i did that.  At my comprehensive exam Dr. Kakos found numerous issues that required immediate attention.  I was shocked because I was pretty regular at my previous dentist and nothing was ever found.  Dr. Kakos used very high tech technology to show me and explain all my issues and problems that when I saw with my own eyes were so obvious.  This exam proved and help me understand all my issues at hand, no dentist has ever been this detailed with me.  Although Dr. Kakos is not on my insurance plan, his fees, skills and thoroughness are worth every penny! Thank you Dr. Kakos !!

I’ve been going here for a few years now, and Dr. Kakos outclasses every other dentist I’ve ever had.  His office is state of the art, his staff is top flight and super friendly, and his skill sets the curve for other dentists.  When he starts working on your teeth, you get this feeling that he has this way of understanding dentistry that makes what he’s doing seem like you’re experiencing a concert pianist or some other artist. You quickly realize he isn’t just another average dentist. The whole experience is smooth and effortless. Some people are lucky enough in life to find what they’re really good at and he’s just very talented with dentistry. I  don’t mind “going to the dentist” anymore.

I’ve seen some of the best dentists around but Dr. Kakos is defintely a Doctors Doctor.  This dentist has received the finest reviews by his peers and was featured in Chicago Magazine best Doctors.  I’m happy I found him and that he was willing to accept me as a patient. He makes dentistry as pleasant as it can be, and his fees are not out of line with his level of care. Plus, he’s a fun guy!

If you read one review and follow it: this should be that one time. Dr. Kakos is incredibly talented and compassionate. If you are someone like myself who was terrible about regular maintenance and also had a host of complicated dental issues, this is the practice for you. The office is state of the art—they make crowns on site!—there is no long uncomfortable wait. They make every effort to make you comfortable with warming neck pillows, TVs, headphones, and more. The entire staff is is excellent and accommodating.

I have pleasure to be Dr Kakos patient for few years now and I am really picky and demanding person and I can assure you this is THE BEST dentist I have ever worked with. Dr Kokos was first dentist that finally sorted out all my dental needs and took care about my health from A to Z. Just recently I experienced severe tooth pain and needed immediate attention but unfortunately this was the day when office was closed (New Years Eve) but after contacting Dr Kakos he invited me to his office and took care of my pain right the way!!! This is true top notch professional awarded by many prestigious Dental Associations, magazines and professional publications and it shows every step of the way when you are there. I also would like to mention Joanna my hygienist that is always super gentle and take care of my cleaning to assure proper maintenance of my smile as well as super nice receptionist and accurate billing personnel that always assured financial part of transaction is accurate. This is high end dental office with latest equipment and only place I know that can install crown in one sitting. 3D scans, in house crowns molding, implants, xray they have it all here. It is always pleasure to work with Dr Kakos and his team. If you are looking for the best of the best this is your place. Give it a try I can promise you wont be disappointed.

I’ve been going to Dr. Kakos for many years and he is an excellent dentist. I recently came back from FL after 2 years and recently came back to IL. I had seen 3 other dentists in FL and after spending over $30,000 on my teeth, none of the other dentists caught the real underlying issue with my teeth. Within a week of coming back to IL I went straight to Dr. Kakos because I knew there was still something not right despite the work and treatment plan the FL dentists did. I was correct, after seeing Dr. Kakos one time, he was spot on as to what needed to be done (keeping in mind he was my dentist may years prior to moving to FL). He knew my teeth and has always been able to stay on top of my many issues with my teeth. If I decide to move back to FL, I will fly back to IL just to see him. I don’t trust any other dentist. I love his sincere care of me as a person and over the years he has always had the right prognosis and next steps as it relates to my teeth. I can’t say enough things about Dr. Kakos!!!

My husband and I moved to Nashville and we plan our appointments around trips back to Chicago so that we can see still Dr Kakos and his staff. They make you feel like family. Kathy and Thalia are always there to greet you with a smile. Joanna and Jess are the most thorough and gentle hygienists around. Noura and Nicole are more then dental assistants – they always go above and beyond to make you feel special and comfortable. Best dental office in the Chicago land area!

Dr. Kakos is absolutely amazing! I’m a new patient and could not be more pleased! My daughter and husband have been going to see Dr. Kakos for awhile and each of them have had a variety of work done. Every procedure they have had has been a great experience. When I moved to the area in ‘17 I had veneers that were old and needed to be replaced; based on the reviews I set up an appointment. Dr Kakos has proven to be extremely knowledgeable and really up to date on the newest technology. He did a fantastic job on the veneers, fillings, and the root canal I had to get done over the past few years. I am very happy with the results and everything he has done has been painless. I highly recommend Dr Kakos.

I needed a crown for my front tooth, and because it was my front tooth, I did a great deal of research to find the best cosmetic dentist.  I picked Dr. Kakos and it was the best decision.  I have the most beautiful front tooth!  You cannot tell it is a crown; it looks just like a real tooth.  My husband also needed restoration work on his front teeth and the transformation is just amazing.  Dr. Kakos is an artist.  He’s very caring and patient.  He is easy to talk to, very friendly and very talented.   I highly recommend him!

Well I live in the city and getting a dentist appointment when I want to get one in before the end of the year is no cake walk. It got to the point where I was on my dentist’s waiting list that was as volatile as the stock market, as everyone tries to get their flexible spend in before the end of the year. That problem went away the moment after I met Dr. Kakos. His kind staff went out of the way to accommodate and address all of my dental issues. The dental work he did for me is nothing short of a miracle. Being a men’s league hockey player for majority of my adult life, my teeth were nearly toast. Thanks to Dr. Kakos I re-discovered my smile. Just the other night I was complimented on my smile. This was huge. Dr. Kakos is a hidden gem, and hopefully someone else out there having issues like the ones I faced can re-discover their smile too! I’m 63, and this dentist is the most talented, personable, efficient and cost-effective that I have ever had, and I’ve had some fine dentists. Money spent here is worth every dime. This is the Dentist that I imagine the other Dentists go to when THEY need dental work. Kathy, Kera and the staff are very nice people and they’re all professionals. Dr. Kakos is in a class by himself, and I always feel comfortable going there. Plus, his fees are fair and reasonable. Do yourself and your teeth a favor and check him out. I live in Arlington Heights, and I’m happy we have him in our community.

He is an honarable man and second generation dental expert. His method for is implant is second to none. If you need help with your teeth, please don’t lose hope, DDS Kakos’s saved my teeth. His office is beautiful and his staff is top notch. I drive from Wisconsin to Arlington Heights, Illinois just to see him. He is honestly the most personal and professional dentist I’ve ever had. I’ve waited quite a while to leave this review. I wanted to be fair to the reader, and to Dr. Kakos and his staff. For nearly 15 years I’ve traveled over an hour each way to avoid ever seeing another dentist than Dr. James Kakos. This is a guy (1) with a passion (2). . No guy would have such a landmark office to practice in without patience and ambition. Dr. Kakos is a guy that faces the hardships of life with time tested character – a kind not natural in an age like this. . That character is driving his greatest passion – Excellence in Dentistry. As I’ve observed Dr. Kakos over the years, it appears that if the rest of the world should fall away – he would likely cling to his mission of helping people through Absolute Excellence in Dentistry. .
