I couldn’t have found a more amazing dentists office. I met Dr. Houck from requesting a consultation for Invisalign. She was incredibly nice and helpful so I decided to switch to her for all my dentistry needs. Not only is Dr. Houck our of this world, but every single staff member is too. I’ve been with this office for decades. I trust these people completely! Doctor Mellert’s dental office is located in a good neighborhood, is VERY clean, beautifully decorated with ocean decor and soft music is played in the waiting area. The hygienist I’ve been seeing does her best to make me feel comfortable, is always professional, caring and effective. They’re great with offering options to better your hygiene to help extend the health and life of your teeth. I would recommend this dentistry to everyone, especially those who have a fear of going to the dentist like me. I have been a patient for over 10 years. I recently experienced some discomfort in my gums and it quickly became an infection. I was on vacation at the time and Dr. Mellert and his staff called the local pharmacy for me. I was able to start on antibiotics immediately. My dentist retired so I was referred to Dr. Mellert. I have seen him twice in the past 2 weeks due to a very loose removable partial bridge. On the 2nd visit he was finally able to adjust the prongs without breaking them. He was very patient and pleasant and did not charge me for the 2 visits. I was so impressed the last time I was at the office at how quickly and pain free Dr. Mellert put in my temporary crown. Dr. Brown gave me the Novocain which he does so well (and it didn’t even hurt ) then Dr. Mellert and his team began working on my crown which they did and they got it done so quickly I was so amazed. 15 years a patient receiving excellent service. Then with medicare, enrolled in the medicare dental HMO. 100% dissatisfied with that as the clinics refused service if it was not what they recommended, which procedures were not covered by the HMO plan. So after refusing the HMO recommendations I happily returned to Dr. Mellert and received today the same excellent service I had been use to, before the HMO medicare experience over the last three years.

Dr. Mellert and his staff are fabulous! I had a major dental accident that required 4 root canals, and 2 implants. Dr. Mellert acted as the ‘quarterback’ and his staff set me up with appointments with the other dental professionals. People don’t even now know that I’ve had tooth issues. One of my biggest reasons for coming here is Gigi! She is the VERY sweet, fun hygienist that takes great care of my teeth and is always on time and works the early morning shift! I highly recommend her. Check them out yourself! I’ve recommended many friends over the years still going to them too!! It’s a nice family to be a part of!

What a caring and amazing experience I had with Dr. Mellert and his staff. My husband found you on the internet after an accident I had over the weekend, called Monday morning and I was there by 9:30 am. They were so kind, fitting me in around their scheduled patients and coming in to check on me when I was in the room alone. I can’t thank you enough for the attention and care you and your staff provided. As a dental patient, I felt well cared for and much attention was given to even the smallest detail or need. Dr. Mellert came by to check on me and talk to the Doctor who was performing my root canals. You both worked to save my teeth. I certainly did not come with an easy problem to solve and required extensive work, and you and the team delivered an amazing result. You literally repaired my identity that for a brief time was lost. Once we arrived at your office, there was never a doubt about the level of sophistication and attention I would receive from pain control, to restoration and ultimately regaining the same smile I had lost only a few days before coming to you for care. Dr. Mellert DDS is the best you can fine. I have taken great efforts to get the best work done in my mouth, and Dr. Mellert does superior work. His attention to details means you get a bridge or implant that will fit perfectly in your mouth; he doesn’t rush the job to be sure the finished work feels right to you. I just did and I couldn’t be more satisfied. My hygienist, Connie, does an excellent job too of cleaning my teeth. I keep my appointments and they see me promptly without an extended wait. Dr Brown did a previous “repair” on my front tooth…I had chipped it and he repaired it beautifully approximately 9 years ago … then I returned a year ago for another beautiful repair job …he takes his time, matches the color, forms the “bondo” to look exactly like your real tooth and makes sure you are happy …I paid the said amount and a year later here I am with the same problem …the “bondo” in my tooth fell out…I returned to have Dr Brown repair it…he and his assistant took the time to perfect the correct color match, apply the product and smooth it out to my satisfaction …we weren’t happy with the first application as my tooth appeared a little short…they actually started all over …with the best attitudes and the final outcome was amazing! I was very happy and went to pay the receptionist …to my astonishment there was NO charge! I am still in shock at the time spent and pride of workmanship make sure their client was completely satisfied . You don’t find this kind of good will extended very often ! I highly recommend Dr. Brown for any cosmetic dentistry, professionally done in an comfortable setting

I have seen Dr Mellert and Dr Brown for years and they are the best. Yesterday I referred a friend with a dental emergency. Bad tooth with infection. (He he’d been suffering a while). I called Dr Mellert and they got him in the same day. Extracted the tooth and sent him on his way with antibiotics and pain medz. My friend cannot fully express his relief and gratitude. Dr Mellert and his staff were excellent from start to finish. The entire procedure was over in a little over 1 hour. All his suffering and problem was solved quickly. I highly recommend Dr Mellert and staff. You will not be disappointed. By the way,the cost was surprisingly low considering it was a surgical extraction. Thanks Dr Mellert and staff!!

I suggest this dentist to anyone for several reasons. I have always received excellent treatment on the over 20 years of care here-this office has a way of making me feel good about coming here. There is a feeling that you are being treated as a person they want to help. Dr. Mellert is extremely able AND his staff is really a plus for him. Start with his new receptionist-Jackie is very helpful and friendly so it is easy for me to make the appt. and then smile when I have arrived. Then Gigi has been my hygenist for all this time and it is actually fun getting my teeth cleaned because she is like a friend trying to help me! I haven’t had a negative issue in all these years and definitely suggest this dentist to anyone who needs one

This is a great dental office, full service. The waiting room, that I rarely visit because they are always so on time, and the observation rooms are so clean and comfortable. Best dentist office ever. Very professional and the staff is great. They give you sunglasses so that the light does not hurt ur eyes. Headphones so that you can watch sports or HGTV or Jerry Springer while they work on you. Little to no pain while they do the procedure. I have had a crown now for over 10 years and 0 issues with it. Another crown did have problems because I needed a root canal but Dr. Mellert and staff took very good care of me and replaced the crown at no cost after the root canal procedure. The best part is that I don’t feel bad after I leave because I don’t floss. They don’t talk down to you and say …”you should floss your teeth”. They just do the work, smile and send you home ASAP. Another great thing is that there is hardly a Wait the doctor is very respectful of your time . Before Corona, they gave water and lipbalm….I am sure they will do again after everything settles down .

My first review of Dr. Mellert was 5 years ago. Outside of being with my wife, this is one of the longest non-sibling relationships I’ve had. He’s still as awesome as ever! My wife has been experiencing extreme sensitivity for the past week, so she made an appointment to see him today. Only she’s a scaredy-cat and wanted me to accompany her. The Friday before Labor Day weekend. 90 degrees in the shade. And I had a billion other things to do. But, a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do… After X-rays and examining her for a while, he referred her to a specialist in the same complex, only in a different building. Even she couldn’t find the exact problem, other than maybe some overactive nerve pain. I brought along my mouthguard that had been giving me problems, even though I didn’t have an appointment – hoping that Dr. Mellert could take a look at it if he wasn’t too busy. He always makes time for his patients, and was happy to help me after examining my wife. He got me re-fitted, and I was soon on my way. I really didn’t expect him to spend as much time with me as he did, but I deeply appreciate his help. And this is where his staff really stepped up. Instead of just giving me directions to the specialist’s office my wife was in, his assistant walked me over to the office. In the heat. And didn’t mind! Seriously… these are the people you want taking care of you.

I was told that my original 5-star review was somehow deleted from Yelp. So I am repeating my review in different words and in a shorter version, in case that was the problem causing Yelp to delete my review. Being a patient of Dr. Mellert has literally changed my life when it comes to dental work. I have had a lot of dental work done, starting as a child (I am now 60) and most of the experiences were very unpleasant, painful and anxiety-provoking, leading to my becoming someone with serious anxiety and even panic issues with respect to dentistry. These issues resulted in my delaying and/or neglecting completely my dental health needs, which led to more problems due to the fact that my teeth are now in need of much repair work…. After experiencing a truly frightening experience undergoing a procedure (I believe it was a root canal but it may have been a crown) at another dental office several years ago, I researched and found Dr. Mellert. Not only is he a state-of-the-art dentist for anyone needing excellent dental work done, he is an expert at treating patients with anxiety and fear issues. I have been a patient for many years now, and even though I have needed and gone through several major dental procedures, I have never experienced any even moderate pain or anxiety. I totally trust him and his wonderful staff to make sure that I am always in complete control and comfort with respect to my pain management. Just today, as I was having the first part of a crown procedure done after having some anesthetics administered, I winced in a little bit of minor pain. They immediately stopped the work, administered more anesthetic, and let it take effect before proceeding with the work, and I was totally fine. I recommend Dr. Mellert and his fantastic staff to anyone needing any kind of dental work, routine or complex!

I have worked in the dental field for 45 years. Mr. Mellert is my dentist. I know a well run office when I see one. Dr. Mellert is always on time, his staff is friendly not only to the patients but to each other as well. An office where you can feel the tension in the staff is an office to avoid. I have had two crowns by Dr. Mellert, never had a problem with a temporary crown falling out and the crowns fit perfectly. He also has Registered Dental Hygienist working for him, which is great, you can’t get that wonderful teeth cleaning from anyone but an R.D.H. I chose him as he was a graduate of UCS and my experience has been that they ate the best. I also like that he is very pleasant but not too friendly. He is business like and is here to provide the best care for his patients. I would and do recommend him to anyone seeking dental care.

I use to go to Dr. Mellert for years and then we got inexpensive HMO dental insurance so could no longer go to him. I started having a problem of discomfort on my lower left side with a swollen gland. Went to our HMO dentist and he just said I had gingivitis and charged me for a deep cleaning and some extra stuff. The problem continued so I made an appointment with Dr Mellert since I had no faith in the HMO dentist. Dr Mellert’s office got me in right away. They took a bunch of xrays and Mellert spent time with me saying it could be my wisdom teeth or a possible cracked tooth and referred me to a Endodontix to get more clarity. Dr. Mellert did NOT charge me a cent for this appointment which blew me a way. The Endodontix determined that my wisdom tooth was infected and needed to come out. All I can say is that we are going back to Dr Mellert. He and his office really care and I have complete confidence in them. And I am so grateful for his help in finding out what the problem was. Thou I can appreciate Dr. Mellert’s new dental facility as being fresh, clean and cool, it doesn’t come close to reflecting his warm and welcoming interior (soul) or friendly staff. I highly recommend Dr. Mellert and his cool, calm, and collected crew for anyone who wants a big, bright, beautiful smile and/or any dental chickens out there, any ages! On my first visit, many moons ago, I was petrified to have my teeth touched as I am a sensitive soul that houses a sensitive mouth. They patiently sat with me, easing my distress before they began the check-up. To me, that is what matters most, the heart to heart interaction, the stuff that soothes our souls (and they do ideal dentistry). I have been a patient of Dr. Mellert for many years because I trust his recommendations for treatment is the best option for me. His knowledge and skills are superior to other I have use. There has never been a problem with my treatment. The staff at Dr Mellert’s office make me feel truly cared for, and my appointment time is always honored, meaning I’m NOT sitting in his beautiful lounge for hours waiting to be seen. Dental treatments are not cheap but I’m worth getting the best treatment in town, so I continue to go to the best dentist in town. I fine dental insurance cost to be of very little help compared to what they pay in benefits and I’ve never found a dentist in their network I want to travel too. Dr. Mellert’s office has always worked with me to get no or low interest credit for 12 months. If you want the best treatment go to Dr. Mellert. If you just want cheap go to any office that packs you in their office with a waiting list a mile long for hours to make their overhead. I’ve got better things to do than sit around in a waiting room. Dr. Mellert’s office always allows enough time to take care of each patient without long waits.
