One of the biggest fear of mine is having dental problems at the overseas. I am an international student in Los Angeles and my fear has happened. I was feeling super bad, taking 3 painkillers​ every day​ and it was getting worse day by day. Luckily one of my friends recommended​ JJP Dental. I met with Dr. Janet. While she was checking my teeth, she found out that I had two abscesses​. Dr. Janet directly cleaned up the worst tooth and gave me the prescription. After we have negotiated the price, she planned the schedule. Because the first thing to do was clean up the other tooth. After the cleaning process of both teeth. I needed to wait until I finish my antibiotic. She and my root canal doctor were rigorous about​ my teeth. They took a good care of me. Even the prices are high for an international student, I can totally say that they know what they are doing and they work carefully. I did not have any dental problems after the treatments. In a nutshell, I am thankful to JJP Dental.

Janet Refoa has been our dentist for twenty years. I have the utmost confidence in her expert abilities and have always found her and the staff to be professional and empathetic. When we have an urgent issue Janet has always made time to attend to us. We have transitioned our 19 and 21 year olds to her and just yesterday needed an urgent appointment for a wisdom tooth… and Janet made the time. No hesitation in recommending her!

I  have known Janet since 1980. I always had perfect teeth and no cavity, but suddenly, I  had developed Gingivitis, an early stage of gum disease.   A month before I met Janet, I had a shocking experience which caused me having depression, anxiety and sever gum bleeding.  I had consulted two other dentists in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica area prior to my meeting with Janet.  Both doctors had advised me that due to sever gum problems, my teeth had become very loose and could not be saved.  The alternative was to use dentures.  I was only 30 years old and could not believe my perfect teeth were to be replaced with dentures.  When I met Janet, she assured me she will do everything in her power to save my teeth and she kept her promise.  After a year of continued gum treatments, my gums had been restored from the puffy red and bleeding mess.  During the years, I had to have several dental works which included dental caps for my front teeth, but I had to keep my own teeth beneath the beautiful porcelain caps that Janet had made for me.  The caps did not change the appearance of my mouth.  Recently, I have replaced my wisdom tooth and surrounding tooth with implants and I am very satisfied with the results.    Today, after 34 years, my gums are healthier than those of just about anyone I know.   I still go to Janet for all my dental needs.  Needless to say, Janet always treats me like a family member and cares for my well being.  Personally, I think we all can use professionals who are experienced and caring and can be trusted at the same time.  Dr. Janet Refoa is one of those rear individual and I would highly recommend her.

Let me first say that the review that Ted B wrote on 12/3/14 was not true.  I was there in the waiting room and HE was stirring up trouble and made a huge scene.  The staff was professional and pleasant to him before and after the police arrived. As for me.  I love her work and her staff.  I recently had a family friend dentist over for the holidays and they looked inside my 92 year old Moms mouth that Janet has worked on extensively.   They said the work is amazing as Janet is trying to preserve my Mom’s mouth from cavities and extractions.  My family was very pleased an outsider gave Janet such a glowing report card.  I trust Janet so much that when my tooth had to be pulled, I am going to her for my implant.  In her office she has a perialdonest so everything can be handled under one roof.  Tooth issues are never fun but Janet makes it comfortable and she is very caring.

Dr. Janet Refoa is PHENOMENAL. She has the most delicate hands, which is a critical characteristic of any dentist. She has been my dentist for over 30 years. Dentistry is truly an art and a craft which she has mastered and the customer service received here is phenomenal. I hate going to dentists, but truly look forward to every visit I have ever had with her. All the equipment is state of the art, nestled in the best area of beverly hills triangle, with convenient free parking next door. I can go on and on, but her experience and care for her patients speaks for herself. I would trust no one else with my teeth and am so thankful that I am always in such good care.

Dr Refoa has been our family dentist for the past two decades. She and her staff have provided excellent dental care for us and I would not entrust my children’s dental care to anyone else. JJP Dental Practice is a trustworthy, professional and friendly establishment and a pleasure to be a patient of. I have recommended many friends to Dr Refoa over the years and they are just as pleased with the service, otherwise I would not continue to recommend her. Thank you Dr Refoa and staff for your many years of excellent service to my family.

Through the years i have gone to many dental offices only to be disappointed with what other dentists have scarred me with. JJP Dental was the right place i was looking for. Dr. Refoa and her staff are very professional, intelligent,and precise. I have recently gone in to have a dental implant surgery performed along with a bone graft. I have to say it was easier then a walk in the park. I did not feel any pain. The Procedure was performed flawlessly with no errors what so ever. JJP Dental is the only establishment that i can say without a doubt is the one place i trust to work on my teeth. I am always happy to come here and i can honestly say that i couldn’t ask for a better dentist. Thank you JJP Dental for giving me that smile that i have always been dreaming about.

I just had to postpone yet another appointment with Dr. Refoa. No problem, no charge. Never is, and I’ve done this a lot. I’ve just perused some of the negative reviews and I truly can’t believe what I was reading. I think these reviewers might need to change their medication… First, I am always ushered in almost immediately upon my arrival. The staff is soft-spoken and very courteous. They even text me a reminder the day before the appointment. As for the Doctor, she is  warm, open and honest…  She negotiated a better price for my extensive work since I don’t have insurance and told me what I could hold off on now.  She hugs me when I arrive and leave, chats with me as a friend, and really does deliver painless work!   I’ve recommended others to her who are equally pleased with the convenience, quality, and prices at JJP Dental. There’s even a parking lot in the back so you don’t have to hassle– or pay — with Wilshire Blvd parking! So to those who claim there is yelling and other discourteous behavior at this office, I have never witnessed anything that even remotely resembles that. And I’ve been there many many times. Hmmmm… bad reviews — sour grapes or just sour people?

I waited way too long to find a new dentist  because I had a great one who had moved away a few years ago.  So when I finally found Dr. Refoa, she had big shoes to fill…and she and her staff did just that.  After my first consultation, I found out that I had been neglecting my teeth a little too long and had big problems. The x-rays showed that she had her work cut out for her and she said she might not be able to save a couple of them.  Well Dr. Refoa is not just a regular Dentist… she is a Dental Surgeon .  She rebuilt two of my molars which already had root canals and, as she informed me, were rotting away from under the crowns.  After she fixed them, and three other teeth, I could finally eat again… in comfort. She now has me on a much better dental hygiene routine, including regular cleanings to avoid problems in the future. So, thank you Dr. Refoa.  You fixed me up in no time with minimal discomfort and I’m very grateful!

Just had my first dentist appointment in over 4 years with Dr Refoa and i’m in awe of how easy it was. I had 6 cavities and i’d never had a filling before so I was super scared and having anxiety about getting them filled. Dr Refoa calmed me down so much and told me we didn’t need to do any today but they weren’t going to go away and if I was this scared, I should try to face my fears. I’m so glad I did! After the first filling she told me that 1 was done and I started laughing because it was so painless, I didn’t feel a thing! We did all 6 and it was no problem. I feel like I hit the dentist jackpot. I’m actually looking forward to going back to the dentist now… (never thought I’d say that).
