Dr. Joseph Abe has been my primary Dentist and also my Wife’s! He is an experienced, professional and affordable Dentist. If you have any emergency or simply want your teeth cleaned or worked on in advance before any serious problems arises, please go for him and you will never regret. My wife was taken to Emergency Hospital because of her toothache but I contacted Dr. Abe and amazingly we had an appointment early in the morning the following day, he worked on her and now she is out of trouble. He has been our Dentist for three (3) years now with no problems. So go for him for all your dental needs in Pasadena and you will thank me later!

Dr. Abe’s office has a welcoming atmosphere. Maria greets you with pleasant conversation and a smile as preparations are made for your appointment. The hygienists are all courteous, thorough, and informative. Each has their own unique flair, of course. Karen is lovely, and I have also enjoyed working with Grace and Connie over the years. I appreciate tips on how I can improve my self care regimen. It makes me feel like everyone cares about my health. Dr. Abe is very kind and knowledgeable, and he and the office staff go the extra mile to make me feel supported and empowered to maintain my dental health.

Dr. Abe is an incredibly skilled dentist who wants to save your teeth! I started seeing him well over 10 years ago because I wanted a second opinion regarding a gum infection that my then dentist said was associated with a tooth that needed to come out and be replaced by an implant. Dr. Abe was that second opinion, and he not only worked on my gum, he saved my tooth, and he became the best dentist I’ve ever had. He’s since done all kinds of things in my mouth including root-amps, root canals, crowns, and gum-infection-fixings with little fuss. He is that good! He’s even driven me home after a procedure! And when I’ve had some serious work done he usually calls me that night or the next day to be sure that I’m doing well. I just hope he never retires because I honestly have no idea what I would do. I cannot imagine finding another dentist with his confidence and skill. Take my advice. Go and see him!

I like the office, it is very clean and Dr Abe uses all the modern tools and technology you’d expect in this day and age. The staff is highly skilled and my hygienist there is wonderful to deal with. It is very hard to find a good dentist, and Dr Abe is one of the best. I found him by sweet luck. I chipped a tooth on a Saturday night a few years ago. He’s the only dentist who called me back and even offered to see me on a Sunday to fix my damaged tooth. No dentist is open on Sundays but he was willing to show up with an assistant to help me. After getting past that dental emergency I have continued to come back because of his excellent work. He was even able to correct some less than top notch filling work done elsewhere.

I went to Dr. Abe for my yearly exam and ended up needing a bit of work. Everyone in this office is professional, knowledgeable, and very thorough. The office environment is warm and welcoming, and Dr. Abe himself could not be more kind, generous, skilled, and funny. During my exam, we had such a wonderful conversation that I forgot about the work on my teeth and truly had a fabulous time at the dentist! That is not something that most people could say about their dental visits. The office opens very early during the week, and they have hours available on Saturday also which means that seeing the dentist does not mean you have to miss time at work. The office was very clear about billing and what was covered under my insurance plan and the charges for services were very reasonable. I recommend Dr. Abe and his staff without reservation. They are wonderful and make your trip to the dentist as pleasurable as possible.

I went to Dr. Abe years ago and, after several dentists in different states, I’ve realized that my first impression of Dr. Abe was correct – he’s the best. I’m terrified of the dentist as a result of a horrible dentist that literally caused me more pain than relief. In fact, I went to Dr. Abe to have two root canals to fix previous botched fillings by the bad dentist. When I described my symptoms I got an appointment the next day and was relieved when Dr. Abe didn’t kiss me on the forehead and tell me it’ll be alright before sticking me with a 6″ needle (yeah, the childhood dentist was that bad). In fact, Dr. Abe’s office uses a great numbing system that uses a tiny needle that fits between your tooth and your gum and numbs as the dentist proceeds. If you’re afraid of needles (and I am), I can say that this was the best experience you can expect at a dentists office. And the numbing is effective – never felt any pain throughout either root canal procedure. The dental hygienists are the best. A cleaning should not be pleasant, and while it wasn’t I also felt like I had new teeth after they were done. Not a speck of plaque anywhere. And they will give you crap about flossing, but it’s their job. Plus, they keep a record of your gum line so know if you’re showing signs of gum disease. As for Veronica V.’s review, I think that may be an unlucky experience. I first went as a student and so was on my parents’ Massachusetts insurance and then went when I graduated and had my own plan. At no point was I billed incorrectly (nor were my parents). I would go to Dr. Abe if I were still in the Southern CA region and definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

I’ve been to many dentist offices over the years. Dr. Abe has a unique way of making a person feel at ease about every procedure, whether it be a simple cleaning, an extraction or even a root canal! He is very gentle and his friendly (long employed) staff members are accommodating, very informative, very patient and they explain every procedure in detail in a way you can understand. They also have the latest teeth whitening system! They do well very with kids too! On my numerous visits I’ve always had very little wait time. They’re office is clean, with impressive views of palm trees and the mountains. The one thing that stands out the most to me is (and I’ve also heard this from others), if you are having an emergency, Dr. Abe many times will go out of his way to help you. This is the sign of someone who not only does his job well, but more importantly he cares about his patients comfort and well being. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Abe’s office.

Dr. Abe is amazing. I have had bad teeth my whole life. I found Dr Abe about 2 years ago and I am a changed man. His work is just outstanding. For instance, I had an old root canal, from my old dentist, that was starting to fall apart and hurt. Dr Abe was not only able to get me out of pain immediately he was even able to SAVE THE TOOTH. I couldn’t believe it, I thought for sure it would have to be pulled. I used to dread going to the dentist because of the pain. Not with Dr Abe. Every time he works on me he makes sure that I am comfortable and pain free. I have yet to have an OW moment with him. If you are looking for a TOP NOTCH dentist, with a heart of gold, visit Doc Abe. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Abe and his staff are wonderful. He is not only an incredibly competent dentist, but he’s also caring and kind. For those who may be afraid to see the dentist, he’s gentle and explains all the procedures that he’s going to do to put you at ease. In addition, I’ve personally witnessed him doing everything that he could–including driving a patient back home whose car broke down–to help his patients. I’ve been to many dentists, many of whom were good, but I can say with confidence that he’s the best I’ve seen. His staff is great, too. I see Connie, and she’s a fantastic hygienist. Together, they’ve helped me stay on top of my oral health and promote my personal wellness. I can’t recommend him enough–go see Dr. Abe!

I had a great experience at Dr. Abe’s office! I saw some of the negative reviews but I noticed all of them were about billing. No one had anything bad to say about him as a dentist, and many people had good things to say. He was recommended to me by an acquaintance so that is why I went to him. After meeting him and his staff I can assure you any billing problems were most likely mistakes. They are definitely honest and ethical and they are not trying to rip anybody off. Insurance is confusing and I’m not surprised there were discrepancies on some accounts. But I would definitely give him the benefit of the doubt. In fact his office has been open since 1938 when it was his father’s practice and his dental hygienist has been working with him since 1971! She’s an expert in her own right! And you don’t stay in business that long unless you know what you’re doing. I took advantage of his new patient special on his website so my exam and x-rays and cleaning if I needed it were free. I didn’t need a cleaning though. That’s a really great deal! One thing about Dr. Abe is that he likes to explain and educate. It’s actually part of his mission statement. So if you want to get in and get out really quickly he may not be the best person for that. But if you like somebody that gives you a blow-by-blow and gives you all the information about what could be going on he’s the one for you! He spent a great deal of time with me explaining a lot of things and he and his assistant were super pleasant and I like them both a lot. It turned out I really needed to have a wisdom tooth removed before he did any work. He called an oral surgeon that he works with and I had an appointment the next morning. He emailed the x-rays he had just taken to the oral surgeon and that saved me over $100 at the oral surgeon’s! So not only did I not have to pay for my visit but I saved $100 at another dentist!! I have an appointment to go back next week for some cavities to be filled and I could not be happier about having found him and his staff. This is a great office and I would say it is a mid-price dentist. He’s not a super expensive Beverly Hills dentist but he’s also not a super cheap back alley dentist. I think he’s a very reasonably priced professional for a general middle-class-income person. Perfect for me! I will update after I have the work done.

Dr. Abe is a sweet, friendly, very competent dentist. He makes visiting the dentist a breeze, particularly for someone who hates visiting the dentist. I have horrible teeth- it runs in my family. My aunt, dad, and siblings all have bad teeth. I floss and brush and use all the products I should, but my gums bleed and I usually have to get a half dozen cavities fixed every year. I’m in my 20’s and had already had two root canals by the time I first came to Dr. Abe. My insurance had changed, and I had to leave my old dentist- not a big deal because I hadn’t cared for her much, anyway. I found Dr. Abe in a tall old building near town hall and decided to give him a chance. In the two years he was my dentist, he was really great. Kind, caring, and once he got to know me, he made it clear that he would never give me the lectures and guilt-trips that I had been used to with other dentists. He volunteers for the ski patrol and is a very energetic older man. I thought he was adorable, and his staff are kind and very competent. I think that his dental work saved me from much more invasive/painful procedures in the long run. Recommended whole-heartedly!

Surprisingly nobody has written a review for this dentist yet. Dr. Abe and his staff are not only knowledgeable in the work they are doing but provide the best care available. The office is very organized and structured, which has hardly any waiting time when there is an appointment. I was referred to this dentist and didn’t realize how great he was. If you ever have a dental emergency, he is definitely willing to help you out if you need to see him in a hurry. Best thing is that certain weekdays have evening hours for cleaning teeth!

Dr Abe is one of the best dentist around! I have been going to him for years & i can’t say enough about him & his outstanding staff. For someone who dislikes getting his teeth cleaned , he makes it a breeze! His whole staff are all pro’s & makes my time in the chair easy. It hard to find a dentist who you can trust . I would highly recommend Dr. Abe for your whole family.

I love Dr. Abe and his hygienists. Dr. Abe is a very nice and gentle dentist. The hygienists are all easy to get along with and do great cleanings. My favorite part about the office is that they offer cleaning appointments at 7 am. That makes it very easy to have a cleaning in the morning and get to work on time. I would highly recommend this office.
