Bravo, kudos and whole lot of thanks to Dr. Elmassian and his gracious team for guiding me through a very difficult time in my life. At the age of 50 due to 20 years of uncontrolled diabetes I lost a total of 6 teeth due to an infection that I didn’t even know existed. I lost my smile, which contributed to ongoing bouts of depression, which also included an inability to chew properly and digestion problems occurred frequently because of it. Without exaggeration I was in bad shape, but from the moment I walked into his office and met Dr. Elmassian I somehow knew everything would be okay, and that this was the beginning of the end of my dental problems. My comfort and care seemed to be their paramount objective, including giving me a clear picture and understanding of what would transpire in my treatment. Allow me to articulate this as clearly as I can, in my 62 years of life, I have never met a more caring, devoted, and knowledgeable Team than I did with this incredible group of professionals. I’m all done now, my work is complete, my smile is back, bigger and better than ever and my gratitude is overflowing. I started going to Dr. Elmassian late last year after feeling neglected by my prior dentist. He is a true professional that takes care of his patients with compassion. He took care of my teeth and addressed any concerns I had. He recommended a night guard after noticing some slight grinding and it fits perfect. I also appreciate that I am always in the chair right at my appointment time so I’m in and out promptly. I’ve been to both his downtown and Pasadena office and it’s been the same experience. I’ve always been fearful about the dentist, but when I got introduced to Dr. Elmassian and his staff, my mind changed! The receptionist was so welcoming and kind also very helpful and answered all my questions. Not once did she give me an attitude. The dental assistant was very friendly also welcoming. She made me feel serene. Dr. Ani was tremendously marvelous, I recommend her if you want to clean your teeth! I cannot say enough positive comments about this dentist. Dr. Joe is hands down the best for so many reasons! My first visit I was in pain, I hadn’t seen a dentist in quite some time, who likes going to the dentist anyway? His assistant was so helpful and caring knowing how painful my situation was. From the second I met Dr. Joe I felt like I had known him for years. He did a complete check on all my teeth. The coolest part was the little camera he put in my mouth to show me a few of the problems I had. I loved how I could see what was going on in there. The work he did was PERFECT and nothing hurt! I am so happy with how my mouth has improved over the last few months. It feels better and looks even better. One of the best things was how kind he was with my financial situation. He was so flexible and made it affordable for me to have my work done. I am so grateful I found such a wonderful and caring Dentist!! Doctor Elmasian has been my Dentist for a few years now. He’s also the Dentist for my parents and has done work for them. The staff there are very personable and knows all of our names even if we come by only a few times a year. Doctor Elmasian is a very kind person and it shows each time I see him. He doesn’t try to push services, and instead makes sure each patient is cared for and his office has provide the best services available. I have gone through many Dentist for my family’s dental needs and can easily say that he’s the only dentist who has resolved all of our issues

Dr. Elmassian is one of the best dentists I have ever seen. Everytime I or my family have had a toothache his staff has gotten us in that same day. His office has digital xrays which helps me getting diagnosed faster in emergency visits. I also like that they can change the the xrays machines for my kids. My mother couldn’t even think about going to the dentist without getting nervous and now she visit the office regularly for her cleaning. She isn’t afraid to go get work done by Dr. Elmassian. I love bringing my kids to him. My daughter, who was 5 at the time, loves coming to the dentist. She has had work done and has literally fallen asleep on the chair while Dr. Elmassian works on her. He takes his time to explain and answer all of my questions. Always gives me all of my options and then gives me his best opinion of what should I do but the best part is when he asks me what i would like to do and we figure out a plan. Dr. Ani Pilikyan is an associate with Dr. Elmassian and has same heart as Dr. Elmassian. My aunt had a toothache and staff was able to get her in that same day. She took her time to diagnose her and treat her that same day. She is very patient and kind. Dr. Ani is very knowledgeable and experienced. I am able to get my teeth cleaned by her and she is very gentle. I totally recommend Dr. Elmassian to anyone. He is very ethical and honest. His staff is very friendly. They work with your schedule.

I have been seeing Dr. Elmassian for over 10 years. He is truly the best dentist. He is such a high energy guy that is always in a good mood and fun to be around. My experiences have always involved a thorough explanation of all my dental options that has left me comfortable that he is both intelligent and competent in the field. This past week I had a cracked front tooth that left me in a lot of pain, my worst fear was that I was going to need serious work like a root canal. I was able to get a emergency appointment when the receptionist told me the doctor would squeeze me in, which later I found out it was the doctor’s lunch hour. My tooth was repaired without any root canal or crown work and it was virtually painless! Dr. Elmassian is without a doubt, the best cosmetic dentist around.

Theres is no doubt the staff are friendly, kind and know what service is. First off the reception was very nice when I called, she said she was booked up to two weeks, but told me to call back after 3pm to see if there are an cancellation to squeeze me in for a Friday. When I got to my chair I was very nervous, because I hate going to the dentist and I havent been in awhile due to insurance. Dr. Elmassian was super nice, he explained everything that was going on and what I need to do and how I need to fix. He explained I needed a night guard and my insurance may or may not cover but its up to me but it will defiantly benefit my teeth in the long run and help my headaches which are triggered through my grinding in my sleep.

Dr. Elmassian and his staff are absolutely incredible. I chipped a filling from another dentist and decided to go to him instead. Best decision Ive ever made. I have had a lot of work done on my teeth so I’m always embarrassed to go to a new dentist that doesn’t know my story. I never once felt judged by any of the staff. They were all very welcoming and had hilarious sense of humors. Dr. Elmassian went above and beyond to fix my filling and even squeezed in a new filling and a cleaning for me in the same appointment! Dr. Elmassian is THE BEST dentist in not only Downtown, but ALL of Los Angeles. Honestly…this place is worth the drive from wherever you are. First of all, the dental office is by far the cleanest I’ve been to, which is very reassuring. Secondly, the staff is MORE than professional. It’s almost as if Dr. Elmassian went out of his way in search of the most polite receptionist (Cindy), and most courteous dental nurses (Emily & Jackie make me feel so comfortable each and every time..I love their charisma and appreciate their gentleness.) I first came to Dr. Elmassian with a mouth full of neglected teeth (it had been many years since my last dental appointment) and one tooth that was in urgent need. He gave me a much-needed root canal right there on the spot, and spent the next year and a half fixing everything else that had come of my years of neglect. Dr. Elmassian is a great combination of caring and practical, and he takes tremendous pride in his work. He has corrected things for free when he felt they weren’t perfect, and he has even made minor cosmetic fixes to my teeth without charge. Every visit to his office has been, dare I say, a pleasure. Other dentists we’ve tried, even a routine teeth cleaning has been like pulling teeth. We have been looking for a family dentist for a while now, many dentists we’ve tried just haven’t worked out. Then we were lucky enough to find Dr. Elmassian! He is the most professional, personable and caring dentist I’ve ever met. The change over to his office, in regards to my dental insurance, was such a smooth process due to his knowledgeable office staff. I’ll never go to another dentist again. The only downside for me is the long drive I make to get to his office, but at least I can choose to miss the traffic by going to either his Pasadena office or his Downtown L.A. office. Still, this guy is worth the drive every time, he never disappoints.

I’ve been going to Dr. Elmassian for years now. Even though I have moved away from Downtown, I still make the trek in to see him and his great staff. I remember coming back to him after over a year without insurance or dental care and he was like, “What’s up with your teeth? There’s so much plaque!” And I said, “I haven’t had insurance.” And he goes, “Is there insurance for food? No! Do you still eat?” And I was like, “Whoa!” But, I’ve realized that that comment comes from his deep regard for proper dental care and hygiene. His office is located in one of the grandest buildings downtown (just waking through the lobby makes me feel happy to be there). Both he and his staff recognize and take care of their long-term patients. I recommend this office wholeheartedly. (And, jeez, take advantage of that cheap bleaching special! It really is normally $395!)

I recently found Dr. Elmassian through yelp. After experiencing a horrible toothache, I found Dr. Elmassian’s office to be conveniently located in the downtown LA area. The receptionist, Cindy, was very helpful while scheduling an appointment and figuring out my insurance. The office is warm and welcoming and the staff was genuinely personable. To my unfortunate surprise, my toothache needed a root canal! But fortunately, Dr. Joe was caring and had a kind bedside manner and to my pleasant surprise the procedure he performed was painless. He even took the time to explain the process and answered all my questions before and after the procedure. I’m not a big fan of dental work, but I like showing off a beautiful smile and I’m thankful that I was able to find a dentist I trust. So after the root canal, I decided to veneer my front teeth and Dr. Joe’s cosmetic work was awesome and natural. And it certainly feels great to be receiving compliments on my smile once again! The only drawback is that the parking is a little difficult, but it’s definitely worth a great smile!!

I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Elmassian right away. He gave me referrals for a root canal specialist and then placed a temp crown on my tooth weeks later per my request (he likes to wait longer to ensure full healing of the mouth). I began seeing Dr. Elmassian when I was going to college. I had a boss at my job in L.A. which is where Dr. Elmassian’s office was in 1984 at The Arco Towers, who recommended Dr. Joe. I have kept with him ever since. I might have a few years lapse in between, but I still eventually go in to see him. Dr. Joe has been very kind to me when it comes to paying him. I admit sometimes finances get very difficult and I get behind, but he has never put me in the credit bureau like so many businesses and medical and dental places do. Finding Dr. Elmassian in my network of providers from my insurance has been the biggest blessing for my health in the past few years. Going into Dr. Elmassian’s office, I knew that I would need to get a lot of work done. Years of poor oral hygiene habits, including failing to regularly go to the dentist because of really negative experiences with providers, really caught up with me. When he did my x-rays, the damage was worse than I had originally anticipated. He immediately allayed my concerns by laying out a treatment plan and being completely respectful. He didn’t make me feel embarrassed about my poor oral health, which is something I encountered repeatedly with other dentists. Instead, he assured me that he would help me get my teeth to a healthy state, and that with good brushing and flossing habits, this would be a thing of the past. Something else that has really stood out to me is that he really tries to work with your benefits and maximize them in a manner that will best get your oral health back on track. Again, this was also very refreshing in comparison to other shoddy dental providers who did unnecessary, poor work. When administering treatment, Dr. Elmassian is very attentive and checks in with me about whether or not I feel pain or if I need a break. His dental assistants and receptionist are also very friendly and welcoming. I’m excited to continue seeing Dr. Elmassian and highly, highly recommend him to anyone seeking quality, empathetic dental care.

I don’t know where to start with my review for Dr. Elmassian. I guess I can start by saying that five stars isn’t enough credit for his quality of work. I had been having a lot of trouble with one of my front teeth for a few years and it was a true nightmare. I was hesitant with every dentist I went to when I had to get work done because of all my previous experiences but I have to say Dr. Elmassian changed that. Dr. Elmassian and his team were so caring and accommodating I couldn’t help but give them my 100% trust! I have to say that trust paid off because my front tooth looks like never before! I had to get a crown and the crown is a perfect match with all of my other teeth! And when I say perfect I mean PERFECT! I was shocked and blown away by his work. Dr. Elmassian is WONDERFUL!!! First of all, I thought that I hated dentists – but as it turns out, I just don’t like dentists that aren’t Dr. Elmassian! People working in my mouth with tools gives me massive anxiety, and he handled my panic-questions (like “are you filing all my teeth down?!” or “will my smile even look the same?!” and “is my mouth ruined forever!?”) with so much patience and kindness… He is very responsive to patient requests. I specifically asked for BPA-free materials for my fillings and he ordered it in for me AND researched it and the whole shebang. I am so appreciative that he did that and did not make me feel like a pain in the @$$ for my request. His office staff is also incredibly friendly and they handled the insurance side of everything so that was a total breeze. And his dental assistant Jacki is awesome – she is an expert at keeping the mood light and taking xrays without ravaging your mouth. I would recommend Dr. Elmassian to everyone but especially to people who don’t like going to the dentist because he is a total pro, very knowledgeable and super soothing!

I’ve been going to doctor Joe since I can remember. He’s a family man and runs his business with up most respect and professionalism. He surrounds himself with staff that reflects his family values. I’ve never had an apointment where I was in an uncomfortable atmosphere. Nothing but smiles! These people remember your names, names of your kids, and elders. Their truthful and efficient. Although all the hygenists know their craft, Emily is by far my favorite hygienist. She never hurts my gums and takes extra procaution becuase i have big front teeth and it always makes me nervous. My young toddlers have recently had their first cleaning and it was a breeze. Not to mention the awesome toy selection provided for the kiddos. Wont ever change my dentist!

I have had a lifetime of dental issues (5 oral surgeries when I was a kid and more as an adult), so I am very cautious about choosing dentists and usually stick with them for eons. When I moved to L.A. last year, I had to find a new one and I was panicked I would have trouble finding a good one. So I saw the reviews for Dr. Elmassian and decided to give him a try. I went for a cleaning, and unfortunately he discovered some issues that led me to have to have a couple of surgeries by a periodontist, but I completed my treatment with Dr. Elmassian today, and can say I am happy to have found a dentist I hope to stay with here in town. He is good-humored and, most importantly, patient with me (I may get a little nervous and question-y and jokey, I admit it). And he and his hygienists do good work. I am happy to be smiling again!

If there was an option to give a sixth star, Dr. Elmassian would get it. I had been delinquent in my toothcare for a few years and when I ended up cracking a filling, I knew I would have to get more than just that taken care of. Dr. Elmassian never made me feel bad for having a mouthfull of cavities and a terrible habit of skipping the dental floss. He’s got a gentle hand, a great attitude, and genuinely wants to help his patients. His staff is the best. Cindy greets you with a warm smile, the assistants are extremely capable and have great rapport with Dr. Elmassian, the dental technicians (who do the cleanings) are experienced and love what they do. Most of his staff has been with him for more than five years, and I think he’s got a few members of the team who have been with him for more than 15 years. To me, that says huge things about him as a person. I’ve recommended Dr. Elmassian to everyone I know in the Pasadena or Downtown LA area – including coworkers, clients, my sister and even my boss’ boss.

Dr. Elmassian is hands down my new dentist here in LA. I have had years of issues due to bonding breaking on my teeth due to grinding. I woke up one morning with a chipped front tooth and needed attention as soon as possible. I called the office and they squeezed me in for a consul. They told me they couldn’t actually fix my tooth until that next Monday due to appointments. When I arrived at the appointment the receptionist was the nicest and most welcoming lady! When I finally got in to see the dr. he moved his appointments around and fixed my tooth right then and there. I don’t have dental insurance and he took care of me so well. Let’s just put it this way, the dentist I called before him was going to charge me 500 dollars more than what dr. Elmassian charged me. He was great and listened to what I wanted. Also cracked a couple jokes. I am def going back to get a full set of veneers soon. A must go!

With significant damage done to my two front teeth, I was able to contact Dr. Elmassian for advice on how to handle. At the time, he was not my primary dentist, rather a family recommendation. He went out of his way to meet me at his office to perform cosmetic dental surgery that day. Thanks to Dr. Elmassian, I was able to avoid the public embarrassment that would have occurred if I waited for my (former) primary dentist to perform the procedure. From a professional and administrative perspective, Dr. Elmassian is the last and best dentist I will ever use. He treats you as one of his own sons or daughters. The man is fantastic and I HIGHLY recommend him to others.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Joe for 20 plus years and have always received excellent care. I’d had some minor discomfort in a tooth for some time and Dr. Joe said we should just keep an eye on it. During my recent cleaning, the x-ray revealed that it was time for a root canal. When I heard that I was filled with dread – I know several friends who have had a terrible experience getting a root canal. I’m pleased to say that my experience was just the opposite. I won’t say it was the most enjoyable experience but I had no pain whatsoever. Dr. Joe gave me a prescription for pain killers that was completely unnecessary. No pain, no swelling, really no big deal. Thanks Dr. Joe for a great experience!
