Last year I woke up with a terrible tooth ache and called Dr. Austin’s office for an emergency appointment. His office staff was so kind and understanding of my situation and fit me in that same day. Upon arrival I was greeted with a warm and friendly staff to check me in. Within a few minutes of checking in, I was taken to an exam room where a very sweet dental hygienist reviewed my needs and took extreme care to not cause any undo or extra discomfort. Dr. Austin then came to assess the cause of my pain and determined I would need a root canal. I have never had a root canal before, so Dr. Austin very thoroughly explained to me the process and recovery time. I was very confident with his diagnosis and was quickly sent to a specialist to have the root canal procedure later that afternoon. Dr. Austin’s office called me the next morning to check on my recovery and again a week later even though they did not perform the procedure! I was so impressed with the entire staff and their patient care, that a few months after my root canal, I had Dr. Austin’s office fit me for Invisalign! I highly recommend Dr. Austin’s practice for all your dental needs. A friendly front desk staff, knowledgeable and compassionate hygienists, and a top notch dentist!

Huge shout out to Dr Austin and his wonderful team!! My dentist retired and I went almost two years not seeing anyone, came to Dr Austin’s office on recommendation from several people at work. I had a few teeth that needed a little work, and therefore a few appointments lined up. In an absolute bind for childcare the sweet front desk ladies watched my baby for my final appointment! So grateful to find such a friendly office that does great work!!

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Austin for over 3yrs. He and his wonderful staff have always given my family and I the best dental care. The staff is super friendly they know us by name. The office is cozy, and super clean. HDr. Austin is knowledgeable, personable, and great with children. He always has time to catch up on the welfare of my husband and son. Dr. Austin has had to refer my husband and son out to specialist on a few occasions and each time I knew we were in good hands! Each specialist ranked top in their dental classes. I recommend Dr. Austin’s office for all your dental needs!

He’s the best dentist I’ve ever seen. His staff is friendly, kind, gentle, and welcoming. Everyone, especially Dr. Austin, are experts in their craft and have always provided the best service I’ve ever had at the dentist. My whole family goes there now and we don’t know what we’d do if he wasn’t in San Antonio because I don’t think I can go back to what dental appointments used to be before starting at Dr. Austin’s. He is an expert in everything from your mundane appointments to cosmetic improvements. He cares about his patients and always puts them first. My smile and dental health are at an all time high and there’s only one dentist to thank for that. Regardless of where I lived in San Antonio or the surrounding areas, I’d make the drive to see him because Dr. Austin is second to none in the dental game. Don’t hesitate to contact his office about any dental issue or concern you’re having because they will be there to give you the advice and counseling you need to get your smile and dental health to where it should be. And if you already have the smile you want, then there’s no one I’d recommend more than Dr. Austin to keep it that way.

Dr. Austin is a FABULOUS dentist. He does fantastic work, whether it is something small or large you are in great hands. His staff is wonderful, all the way from the office to the hygienists. Everyone has soft hands and wonderful smiles. I have been a patient for a few years and after switching I am not seeing anyone else. I am always recommending him to my friends and family. And I have a family who is a permanent client after a visit for their granddaughter. If you need a dentist, Dr. Austin is the guy for you.

Sorry about that,I felt very angry when i asked the receptionist if you are accepting dental access plan ,she wasn’t able to hear what I was saying cuz the mask and the distance made the communication so difficult ,I tried to take out the mask in order to speak clearly since we have more than 6 feet between us but she said no you can’t take it out ,so I left the office without getting any informations ,I fixed my mistake concerning the bad rating I gave you cuz you did not deserve it .have a good day

I have been going to Dr. Austin for many years after searching many years for the perfect dentist. I finally found him and wouldn’t go anywhere else! Dr. Austin is simply the best when it comes to teeth- he is incomparable and the very best in the city! He and his staff are always so warm and welcoming and will make you at ease. They simply make things effortless. They’re wonderful. Colleen is the best dental hygienist I’ve ever been to! I hardly feel a thing, yet my teeth are so thoroughly cleaned and polished after each sitting. I go every 6 months, without fail, which is easy to do when it’s so effortless. I used to dread going to the dentist for teeth cleanings, but Colleen makes it so enjoyable. She’s truly kind and caring and takes such good care of my teeth, as if they were her own. I feel like Dr. Austin’s office truly cares about me and my teeth and I know each and every time I visit that my teeth are in the best possible hands!

Thank you for a great experience! My family and I moved to San Antonio from San Diego and didn’t know who to call for dental care. A friend from church recommended Dr. Austin. Based on that, I called to make an appointment about a tooth that was hurting me, was examined the same day, and had the dental work provided all within a few hours. Not only that, but the care was so good while I received 2 fillings that I felt like I could have taken a nap during the procedure. I am very impressed and grateful for the awesome care. I will recommend Dr. Austin to everyone and have since taken my daughters and husband as well. Thanks again – Dr. Austin and the staff are awesome and we feel like you are all already good friends!

My review for this office has been long overdue! To start off I would like to give a little background of how I found out about Dr. Austin’s office and it actually occurred about four years ago when I was a senior at Health Careers High School. I remember my dental science teacher at that time raved about an excellent student of hers who has started his own successful practice. My classmates and I were lucky to have been able to learn about the top-notch technology that he was using when he spoke at our high school. Dr. Austin not only spoke at my high school but also at my university which is how I got reconnected with his office. Prior to being a patient, I was shadowing at his office for about a year, so I’m confident to say that I have learned a lot! It was amazing to witness so many transformative treatments, but I think what impressed me the most was the patient care that was given. Effective patient communication is one of the key factors that differentiate a good doctor from a GREAT doctor and I’m confident to say that Dr. Austin is a fantastic doctor. From what I recall every patient that I’ve seen come into his practice has left satisfied since Dr. Austin and his team provide the best care possible by treating patients like they were a family. A great practice doesn’t run on its own and my experience with Yaminee, Tiana, and Laura was nothing but spectacular. They are all qualified and talented healthcare professionals who made my time spent shadowing fun and educational. My experience there as a patient was quick and efficient since all I needed was a scan for a mouthguard. I have desperately needed a mouthguard for a couple of months due to my increasing TMJ pain and tension. My scans were sent off to a dental lab and I received my mouthguard after about 10 days. After using my mouthguard for a couple of weeks it has allowed a big weight to be lifted since I don’t have to worry about my clenching wearing down my teeth. All in all, if you come to Dr. Josh Austin’s practice you’re guaranteed to be in good hands!

First time patient today at Dr. Austin’s practice and beyond impressed with the cleanliness of the practice and the attentiveness shown during my cleaning. As Soon as you walk in they provide you with hand sanitizer. The pen they give you to sign is also sanitized. After I checked in I was escorted to the back to wash hands for 30 seconds followed by rinsing my mouth prior Colleen did a GREAT job explaining what she was doing while cleaning my teeth. I appreciated her explaining what she was doing. Very gentle hand when cleaning teeth. Dr. Austin closed the visit out by pointing out some things to consider and providing some recommendations. Very impressed with your office Dr. Austin – THANK YOU!!

I found Dr. Austin’s office based on all the reviews I read on here and Yelp. I knew I needed a couple of fillings because I could see the brown cavities on a couple of my teeth. I came in for a new cleaning visit and that was great. Cool digital technology everywhere and Angelica was awesome and gentle cleaning my teeth. I came back for a couple of fillings and that was fast and smooth. Afterwards I had no tenderness. Last time I got fillings done, I had a bunch of pain afterwards. Not so with Dr. Austin. It was painless and simple. I am busy and don’t have a bunch of time for follow up visits like I had with my last dentist. I love that Dr. Austin’s office respected my time. I will never forget them and will stay faithful as their patient as long as I live in San Antonio!

I have never written a Yelp review, but I am so absolutely impressed with this dentist that I had to take time to do it! I am a new patient and was just in recently because I was having a problem with a tooth. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He referred me to another dentist because I would probably need an implant, so he sent me to someone who specializes in that field. I saw the other dentist on Wednesday and we discussed a plan to come in at a later date in the future for the implant. So today on a Saturday that tooth broke right off with the crown and all! Dr. Austin is closed on the weekends but has a phone number listed on the voicemail where you can call him for emergencies. I called and left him a message, and he actually called me back!! He was flying back from a trip and actually took the time on a weekend between flights to contact me, find out my level of pain and call in a prescription for me! This is a dentist who really cares about his patients!! He is friendly and a genuinely nice person, and after this experience, I can’t say enough good things about him! Even on the weekends he will call you back if something happens to your teeth! I am extremely impressed! If you want a dentist who cares, this is your guy!

A friendly and professional staff will greet you followed by a friendly, prompt hygienist named Colleen that will make your teeth feel so happy and clean! Dr Austin will make sure your teeth are healthy and will not run up a big list of items to correct like some other places I’ve been to. Our family of five have been very happy with Dr Austin since he opened his practice!

Being how it was initially our first “dental cleaning”as new patients at office I have got to say that our overall experience was great. From Friendly inviting front desk staff, which (first impressions are always important) right down to warm and friendly conversations with our Hygienist. We were referred to by a family friend and i am so very thankful that we were. We drive from across town for our dental visits and its worth every mile!!! Keep up the great work!!

Dr. Austin is extremely professional and gentle. He extracted one of my wisdom teeth a few months ago, and I was really surprised how easy the process was. Colleen, my hygienist, is fantastic! She’s cleaned my teeth twice now, and she’s always so friendly, energetic and patient. We had a really genuine conversation throughout the entire visit, and she didn’t seem to mind pausing her work to let me talk some too! She was very professional, and the entire office is sparkling clean and modern. Dr. Austin will be my dentist for the foreseeable future.

I never thought I would say I actually LOVE going to the dentist but since I found Dr. Austin, I have to say that I enjoy going to my appointments now. He is so knowledgable, friendly and will take his time to explain everything to you. His staff is so friendly and professional they always make you feel at home. My appointment was quick and easy, love that! Thank you to Dr. Austin for doing such a great job. I am so proud to call him MY Dentist:) I will definitely be recommending him to my family, friends and even strangers;) AWESOME place all around.

I had a fantastic experience at Dr. Austin’s office. I was very apprehensive at first, but I quickly felt secure knowing that I was getting the best of the best. As Dr. Austin removed my class II gold inlay on #5, he was careful to use an adequate amount of water with his high-speed handpiece to avoid overheating the dental pulp. I also suspect that with his minimal use of slow-speeds and lack of vigorous usage of hand instruments, pulpal inflammation was very minimal. After verifying adequate retention and resistance forms, Dr. Austin, humored me and placed a glass ionomer base over my dentin followed by a fourth generation bonding agent (thank you for not leaving the etch for more than 15 seconds). I seriously don’t know why dentists feel that they can etch, prime and bond all at once! Are 7th generation bonding agents really that great? Another touch of class was the sectional matrix as an anatomic contact is awesome. I really appreciated Dr. Austin’s judicious use of a nano-hybrid composite. The polishability and metamerism are incredible. I was happy that there was no bulk placement and curing. Also thank you for following the last increment with a brush and bond to make sure margins were sealed. It did take him a minute to make sure that I comfortably reached maximum intercuspation and had no working or non-working interferences. The coup de grace was actually taking the time to make sure the marginal ridge was anatomic as well.

I was referred here by a friend and was not disappointed. Colleen cleaned my teeth and I saw Dr. Austin after. It was a wonderful experience (even for a dentist!). Dr. Austin recommended a few things to help with sensitivity that were financially do-able. Scheduling is easy after your initial new patient appointment (you will have to wait a while for that first appointment). They can confirm appointments via phone or text message. The front staff is pleasant and wonderful. I never knew I could like going to the dentist so much! The office is very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Had my first appt this week and they squeezed me in after someone canceled- previously a 3 month wait for new patients! My dental hygienist Angelica was friendly, thorough and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Austin spent much time explaining my treatment plan and explaining necessities vs cosmetic improvements. He was great at providing treatment options without the pressure of sales. Dr. Austin made me feel like family and it’s the first time I’m excited to go back to the dentist to get the help I need! They gave me a treatment plan with breakdown of Ins. Coverage vs Out of Pocket. I appreciated knowing in advance what everything is going to cost. He’s worth the long wait to get in as patient– don’t waste your time anywhere else. I previously went to another dentist who quoted me for $300 for filling repairs that Dr. Austin said I didn’t need. Be available when people cancel and you’ll get scheduled faster!!

My routine cleaning was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Luckily, I was able to get in shortly after they were able to reopen. The staff is always professional and the office is top-notch, but they really went the extra mile to assure all possible COVID precautions were in place. New check-in procedures, hand washing, rinsing and PPE for all staff were all done to mitigate any possible transmissions and put my mind at ease. The new protocol was effective and efficient and I was in and out in no time with a bright new smile! Kudos to the staff and Dr. Austin, I”ll see you all in the fall.

Tried another dentist just to get a Sunday appointment. But man! After experiencing that dentist just wing it and send me right back out.. not only am I willing to take off work, but now travel over an hour to get to Dr. Austin. I assure you it is not fanatical, but for good reason: 1. Their staff does a thorough job: my hygienist cleaned every nuke and cranny and I gladly felt it. 2. Dr. Austin is one of a kind and knows what he’s talking about; very intelligent. Like how he doesn’t cut back on advancing technology as well. 3. They don’t sell cavities like most commercialized chains. Dr. Austin will lay your dental condition on the table and let you decide where you want to go with no pressure. In the end, I feel confident that I will keep my teeth in place and never have to get dentures thanks to Dr. Austin’s expertise
