This was my first time to use Dr Holcomb and he is so fabulous. I needed a tooth removal and he walked me through the procedure and made me feel very comfortable. My husband had one pulled with a specialist and it did not go half as well as mine. Dr Holcomb is our dentist from now on! He does. We have been very pleased with Dr. Holcomb as our family’s dentist. He and Whitney, our hygienist, are gentle and warm with the kids. They are thorough and knowledgeable. The office is clean, beautiful and modern. When our 2 yr old daughter had an urgent issue he saw her immediately even though she wasn’t a current patient yet. I saw Dr. Holcomb for a root canal and he made the visit as enjoyable as that kind of procedure can be. He and his staff were very informative throughout the entire process and were very cautious of if and when I was in pain. For someone who is NOT fond of going to the dentist, the experience Dr. Holcomb and his staff gave me completely set my mind at ease. After Dr. Holcomb left Somerville, I searched for 2 years until I found him again. He is simply the most professional, most efficient, most capable, most caring dentist I have ever been to. He is the first to go over an overall plan with me and he explains every procedure in detail. He goes by best practice guidelines and doesn’t add on anything you don’t need. Dr. Holcomb’s office is incredible! They are so helpful and caring. I went from being late for our last appointment to a whole day early this time around! Instead of saying sorry, come back tomorrow. They checked the schedule and said they would fit one child in. Ok, great not a wasted trip! Then they pulled the next kid back and the third kid!! Goal accomplished a day ahead of time. Took all 3 of my kids – 13, 9 and 1 to see him and his staff were very nice and informative and talked to the kids about what they needed to do to keep healthily smiles. Due to scheduling conflicts, we had to switch our kids (5 and 3 and 1/2) from a local children’s dentist over to a family dentist. We chose Dr. Joshua Holcomb. He’s been my husband and I’s dentist for years. We could not have been happier with the experience today. Actually, the hygienists here were better with our kids (much more patient) than at the previous office. My 3 and 1/2 year old, who has previously been terrified of the dentist, already says she wants to go back. 2 thumbs up and 5 stars for this office, whether it’s for an adult or kids. I found Dr. Holcomb by accident my Dentist was out of town. I broke 2 teeth & needed to see a dentist ASAP. He said I will make room for you come on in. He had a full schedule & another emergency that day. He came by several time to apologize for the wait when he was the one working me into his schedule. Right then I knew I had a new dentist. He took great pains to save my teeth & not have the dreaded root canal. He kept me informed every step of the way & did in fact save my teeth . I just needed caps when he was done. He is a great dentist & a good man that cares for his patients. Defiantly an A+ in my book.

After hearing so many good reviews and recommendations for Dr. Holcomb, I had my first appointment with him yesterday. Both he and his staff could not have been friendlier or more welcoming! I liked that Dr. Holcomb took the time to introduce himself when I first arrived, and I never once felt rushed or that my questions were not welcomed. Whitney was very thorough with my teeth cleaning, and I enjoyed my time with her as well! His office staff was very helpful with paperwork and insurance and setting up my follow-up appointments. All in all everyone was very friendly and welcoming, the service very thorough and I felt like I was in very capable hands!

Dr. Holcomb is the BEST dentist hands down….ready for the back story? I am TERRIFIED of the dentist…I’ve had some run ins with the bad of the bad….filling cavities that weren’t there…pulling teeth that didn’t need to be pulled. Add that plus an over sensitivity AND a tendency to tolerate sedation/numbing medicine differently than everyone else (illicit panic attacks or just plain does not work) Why wouldn’t I be scared right? Just recently I moved back to the area and had a cracked tooth. One dentist said root canal (after a 2 minute assessment) and I hit my knees. My mother recommended Dr. Holcomb…..he got me in for assessment that same day! He immediately knew how to handle my numbing/sedation medicine and why it didn’t work in the first place….not only that he came out sat with me IN THE WAITING ROOM and told me “you’ve been through a lot we take our jobs seriously i promise you we will take care of you.” He introduced me to all of his WONDERFUL staff and walked me through each and every step and his opinions. He took a closer look at my tooth and told me he would try to save it if not he would do the root canal and he promises me it will be a completely different experience….I just had my crown put on the tooth he saved…I’m still not out of the woods as it was very close to a nerve but I will NEVER go anywhere, but to this man and his staff!! My first visit I was in tears and terrified…he completely changed that and I am so thankful!

Today was a ‘regular’ cleaning, but the care the hygienist gives her patients is beyond caring and amazing. Dr. Holcomb is a super dentist and anyone would be blessed to have him work on your teeth. The practice looks at the whole of your needs, desires and what works, not just drill and fill. Dr. Holcomb takes the time to see what will work with your budget, your needs and what he can do to help you have a great smile. I would recommend Dr. Holcomb to anyone within the area. Frankly, if I moved tomorrow, I’d likely come back to let him continue my plan and get my smile back to where it belongs. He also sees my children and my wife is in line next. As a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) I had concerns about how sedation would be provided safely in a dental office. Joshua Holcomb and his team monitored my husband’s vitals and level of sedation carefully throughout the process of his tooth extraction, root canal, and crown placement. We were very happy with his treatment and his outcome. So much so that I too now also go to them for my checkups, cleanings, and fillings.
