I‘ve had a handful of dentists in my 40 years of life and by far Dr. Chen is the most respectable. Not pushy with procedures, quality staff, clean and organized space, I very much appreciate the polite and professional service. I felt perfectly safe going to my appointment during this pandemic. I’m grateful to have been referred to Dr Chen two years ago.

Dr. Chen and his entire staff are truly the best of the best. I despise going to the dentist, like dreadful anxiety, so a dentist/dental office is the last place I thought I would find myself leaving a 5 star review, but Dr. Chen and his staff are just that worthy!  I can’t say enough positive things about everyone who works here.  They are warm, welcoming and help create a relaxed atmosphere. Every visit, I’ve had a pleasant experience but today’s visit was the golden ticket for my review.  Maya had never done my cleaning before today and she is the best! She made me feel so comfortable and at ease throughout my cleaning. So sweet, professional and personable. Dr. Chen is fantastic! He’s knowledgeable, honest, gentle, and his calm demeanor is just what I need to knock my anxiety down a few notches. I’m so glad I found him and should I leave the area, I’ll drive any distance to keep him as my dentist.

I was referred to Dr Chen by one of my co-workers.  I am so happy with my decision to change dentists.  Everyone there is professional and treats you with respect. Katrina cleans my teeth and she is amazing! And the new office is very nice – I enjoyed beautiful views of the mountains while getting my teeth cleaned.  Dr. Chen is very attentive and you can tell he does what he does for the people.

I don’t like switching doctors and other health care professionals but I really needed to find a new dentist. I’m glad I went here because I’m sick and tired of crappier looking dental offices. I felt relaxed durning my teeth cleaning. I didn’t feel like i was talked into any procedures that I didn’t need; which i have come to expect from many dentists.

I give Dr. Chen the highest possible recommendation.  He is one of the best dentists in the city if not the state.  A USC/UCLA graduate, Chen’s approach to client service is old school akin to a small town dentist – he treats you like you are a member of his family and he is all about giving you the care that he would want for his father, or sister or wife to receive.  Dr. Chen is all about long-term relationships and long-term health of your teeth.  His approach to medicine is decidedly new school, as he uses digital x-rays, flat panel screens playing soothing scene customized to your interests, and assistants who for certain VIP and celebrities – might even massage your hand to take away the focus of the pain while he provides expert care. 

When I have an experience like I did at Dr. Chen’s office, I get excited to share it with the Yelp community. I had a dental emergency happen on Thursday, found Dr. Chen based on his great Yelp reviews and called the office on Friday… and by Saturday, my tooth was fixed and good as new. Considering how stressful and painful urgent dental matters can be, even I am shocked to admit how incredible the *entire* experience was. Dr. Chen is an amazing dentist, and the office staff was so sweet and extremely helpful. I’ll most certainly be back! (just hopefully on my own terms next time…)

I say it every time I leave his office:  Julian Chen is the BEST dentist I have ever been to — in Manhattan, Scarsdale, or Beverly Hills!  His hygenist is top shelf, offices clean and effecient, skills the best.   And here’s a hint I got from my college roommate, a highly successfull dentist in Miami:  “If possible, choose a dentist or orthodontist slight of build/height/weight.  It’s common sense that his hands will be smaller, more maneuverable/less intrusive in your mouth.”  Julian, at 5’9″ 150 lbs. “fits” the bill perfectly! As well, his USC diploma, with honors, made him my first and last choice as our family dentist.

Found my exceptional new dentist who has phenomenal team of hygienists too.  Dr. Chen is a people person, professional, skilled, patient, and very respectful.  On the consultation, he explained everything and answered every question.  I was looking for a dentist who would be conservative.  I like healthy teeth and want to keep mine.  Full mouth X-rays were taken during the consultation, there was one area of a tooth that could either be the natural shape of my tooth or a cavity, Dr Chen asked me to get my prior X-rays so he could have all the information.  Other dentists I have been to would have jumped to get that area filled, not waiting to get the information on whether there is an actual issue or not. Most dentist don’t take the time to save the healthy teeth, but Dr. Chen does everything he can to make sure his patients do.  Really like that Dr. Chen cares to get the whole picture. My previous dentist retired and it took me finding Dr. Chen to trust someone enough to get to the teeth cleaning. I have been to Lynette and Joan for teeth cleaning.  They were both exceptional at what they did and they way they treated me.  I was untrusting to begin with and they listened and were patient.  I was pretty high maintenance and a scaredy cat and that went away as I got to see them do their job and take into account my concerns. They were the first hygienist team that took notes on where my tooth sensitivities are and were careful so I didn’t shoot through the roof.  And Lynette gave me some great tips on preparing the next time.  Both were proficient, thorough, patient and cared.  Their office has the high tech stuff and also movies and all that, but I found the beautiful ocean scene savers perfect.  Every time I went I found street parking, but there is a garage.  

Dr. Chen and his team are absolutely wonderful. I went here for seven years and could not have been more lucky to be their patient. Unfortunately my new insurance in the OC doesn’t work with their office, but trust me if that changes I will be going right back despite the hour drive. I will miss Maya so much! She is the sweetest! Best team around. Love that I can watch TV while I get my teeth beautifully and meticulously cleaned. Don’t forget to floss Dr. Chen!
