I used to smile with my mouth closed. Now I don’t have to. That’s because my teeth have been completely transformed giving me the confidence to smile as big as I want, and it’s all thanks to Kaizen Dental. Now, the journey getting there took some serious planning by Doctor Muraoca and his skilled staff, involving the latest technology including things like 3d smile design, an invisible braces strategy, and state of the art crowns to name a few. The root of my problem was that I ground my four front teeth on the top of my mouth down to nearly half of what they started off at. I knew that I eventually would have to address the issue which would involve getting crowns. Honestly, this scared me because I didn’t want a mouth full of fake looking teeth, especially front and center which is where they’d be going! Before the procedure I stressed to Doctor Muraoca that if I was to go through with it, I wanted to make sure they’d look as natural as possible and boy did he deliver. They look better than I could possibly ask for and most importantly, completely natural looking. I couldn’t believe my eyes once they were put in and even weeks later I still stand in front of the mirror in awe, smiling from ear to ear. I can truly say that this procedure has changed my life and I could not be happier with how my teeth look now. And, as an added bonus to it all, the cheerful staff was well organized, friendly and most importantly eager to answer every question I had throughout the months of my complicated procedures. I wish I could give 6 stars but unfortunately it only goes up to 5 on here so I guess I’ll have to settle on that. If you’re looking for a dentist to handle anything big or small, I could not recommend Dr. Muraoca and his skillful staff at Kaizen Dental enough. Thank you for everything.

I love this place! I’m in not just saying that. The staff made me feel so comfortable! No judgement here. I don’t have dental insurance so it took me a while to book an appointment, being that I will pay out of pocket. But! I was referred by a friend saying they have a really good IN HOUSE dental plan. When I say really good, it’s ridiculous! I read through it and couldn’t believe it. So I was sold then and there. Booked a cleaning. My hygienist Ha was very through. And it was maybe a year or so since I had one . I know. But nonetheless, no judgment. She took her time and I felt so refreshed. Yay! Okay.. so I do have cavities .. so I booked a appointment for a filling and wisdom tooth removal. Let me tell you, Dr. Muraoka did an amazing job! I felt no pain in the numbing process or the whole process! Maybe a little poke in the needle. But Like literally, I embraced for a pain in the extraction at least, but no. It came out like a pop and all done. I was surprised! So end it all, very pleased with this office. Will refer and come again! Thank you kaizen dental!

Aloha! I had been spoiled in California by my previous dentist, however, Dr. Muraoka and his staff made me feel comfortable and confident that this office was the next best thing. From the minute I walked in the door (even though it was the back door and I whisked myself through the office to the front) I knew it was going to be a good experience. I had a crown on a front tooth that had fractured over a year ago. 3 weeks ago I bit into a sandwich and the hard crust of the baguette forced the fracture to split the crown, however, the piece remained intact, until yesterday morning when I bit into a hard boiled egg and swallowed the piece! After the x-ray, impressions and removal of the old crown, I was fitted with a new temporary crown. Dr. Muraoka’s gentle hands and concern for my comfort was greatly appreciated, even though I have a high tolerance for pain… Dr. Muraoka had helped me with another crown at his previous place but I was saddened when I called them and found that he had left. Thank goodness I was able to track him down at this location! I do wish the parking situation was a little better. I paid $17.50 for the time I was present… next time I think it will be better to spend $10 at WalMart and get their 2-hour validation… I will definitely be going back and consider him to be my “new favorite dentist!” If anyone needs any kind of dental work, I highly recommend this office and I look forward to seeing them all again soon.

GMS Dental Team provided a great service at an outstanding price. Friendly customer service from the moment we walked through the door. Bethany did an excellent job with x-rays and the dental cleaning for my wife and I. Dr. Muraoka performed a thorough examination and advised us of areas of concern with the lack of flossing on my part. Our son Christian had his x-rays and cleaning performed by Kacey and was just satisfied as we were. Previous visits to the other dentists included scraping the tarter away from the teeth, this dental office used a system that lets the high water pressure clean most of the plaque/tartar away. It was under $100.00 for the x-rays, cleaning and exam!

★★★★★

GREAT GREAT GREAT! Great service, great office, great workers! Loved it! I’m so picky when it comes to Drs and places I go to for different services. Parking was a little tricky the first time but I did have ate by step instructions the office provided me I just wasn’t familiar with downtown and it’s buildings but once there it’s 1000% worth it. The hygienists are great (Malia was amazing! And I really appreciated Dr.M taking the time to make sure I understood anything I asked questions about) the office has everything from X-rays to their own labs to do anything needed which I liked very much. It was very clean, and they make you feel super comfortable. JUST AWESOME. Without feeling like I’d like to keep this gem of a place to myself so it’s not clogged up like so many other dental offices I completely think this place is top shelf quality and absolutely recommend it. Thank you guys!

★★★★★

GMS Dental rocks. I’m in the restuarant industry so a bright smile is really important. I also drink coffee and smoke. Every other dentist wanted $150 minimum for a general cleaning. The receptionist turned me on to Groupon on line and I got a cleaning, x-rays, and a consultation for $35!!! The staff was super friendly, the hygienest wast fast and gentle, and Dr. Muraoka was very honest. No pressure to sell me unnecessary services. I’ll definitely be seeing them every six months for preventative care and everything else. They have a great plan for those with no insurance. Almost forgot, the x-ray chick Victoria is Hot!!! Thanks GMS.

After about a gazillion too many coffees I decided it was about that time to look into getting my teeth whitened.I just switched my insurance plan (which my old office did not accept), so I was in need of a new dentist. I heard good things about GMS Dental Center and their amazing service from a few of my colleagues so I decided to give it a try. Their location is also conveniently located downtown near my office, it only took me 5 minutes to walk there. As soon as I arrived the staff greeted me, everyone was so friendly and personable – it definitely made my experience more enjoyable. Marv even provided me with a blanket to make sure I didn’t get too cold! Which was awesome because I freeze easily. 🙂 She prepared me for the teeth whitening procedure and was very informative, giving me all the details on what was going to happen and how the whitening worked. Dr.Muraoka came in and did an assessment – a very thorough one – determining the best approach to whiten my teeth. After the wonderful whitening by Marv, Dr.Muraoka went to take another look. I had a few spots on my teeth that were significantly lighter than other parts – he was determined to get them to blend in with the color of my teeth better. Dr. M (we’ll call him that for short) with the assistance of Kacey, placed a thin veneer to help with the blending. On top of that Dr.M did a superb job shaping my front teeth! He went above and beyond my expectations. When I was done they hooked it up with sensodyne toothpaste incase my teeth were sensitive, and some other do it yourself whitening trays. I’ve definitely found my new dentist – not only do they have an awesome team who truly cares about the service they provide – which is phenomenal, the prices are extremely reasonable as well. I know my teeth are in good hands

Dr. Eric Muraoka and team were professional, pleasant and punctual. They took time to explain the procedure and post care. Post care was verbally explained as well as written to ensure understanding. Later that same day, Dr. Muraoka followed up with a phone call to check on my well being. I highly recommend Kaizen Dental Center.

★★★★★

I had a wonderful first time visit today at Kaizen Dental Center! Thank you very much Kaizen Dental, for a great, caring, honest & professional service! Also, convenient and beautiful location in Downtown Honolulu. I will surely come back for my routine dental cleaning and needed dental work. I highly recommend them! I have had bad experiences with two previous dental clinics who scammed me to get dental work that requires you to come back for more. Like those bad car repair shops who will try to find extra unnecessary repairs!

★★★★★

I have a huge fear of dentistry.  I have had a lot of bad experiences and because I have fibromyalgia I get a lot of pain from having dental work done.  Dr. Muraoka was the first dentist to try and help make me more comfortable.  He takes his time with me and listens to my fears and concerns.  Most of all though he laughs with me and helps distract me. :). He and his staff are amazing!  The building they are in is a little on the cold side and they even brought me a blanket!!!  First dentist I have ever had that I am not afraid to go see.

★★★★★

I’ve used coupons for cleaning, exams, etc. for a couple of yrs, trying to find a new dentist I like. Every one of them (4) told me I needed $3000 worth of work done. I know I don’t, per a dentist friend who’s retired. Dr. Muraoka, at GMS, was friendly, professional and HONEST! He said I needed NO work done, and explained that unfortunately too many dentists today are going for the $$$$. He wants to give dentists a better name – and will! Also, his hygenist was the best I’ve ever had as she made informative comments as she worked, and gave me care tips, so now I fully understand caring for my teeth! Finally, the staff is tops!

★★★★★

I normally don’t mind going to the dentist, but going to Kaizen Dental Center to get my teeth whitened is always a pleasant experience. I’ve gotten my teeth whitened here about 5-6 years ago, thanks to Groupon, and even today, same great service. The dental assistant/whitening specialist was very thorough – she went over what to expect and post-procedure care instructions, and even gave me a bell to ring in case my teeth started to get sensitive to the whitening product. Even with the bell, the staff here constantly checked on me to make sure I was doing okay. I was even offered a paraffin wax hand treatment during the procedure, which, honestly, I now wish I did, during my me-time! Anyway, the end result: teeth whiter than my shirt! Amazing! Will definitely be coming back again in a few years (planning to keep these teeth white as long as possible)!

OMG I think I just found my dentist for life (even though I don’t live here LOL). I’m on an extended work-cation here in Hawaii from the Bay Area and it just dawned on me that my last cleaning was 1.5 years ago. Uh oh. Did a quick search on Groupon and this was highly recommended. I didn’t expect much to be honest. EVERY SINGLE Groupon dentist that I’ve seen for cleanings has tried to upsell me on UNNECESSARY procedures: “oh! you need to have this cavity refilled otherwise you are in danger of a root canal! (and other BS)”. My wife has had the same experience only to be told by her regular doctor that, uhhh, no you don’t have to get xyz work done. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME that a Groupon dentist didn’t try to upsell me on unnecessary work. Plus 100 for that alone. Another plus 300 for Kira who was utterly patient, thorough, gentle, and skilled. I told her that this is the most relaxed I’ve ever been for a cleaning and that this was the first time I literally felt no pain as I usually have major sensitivity to cold air/water in one of my teeth in the upper right. I will request Kira again when I go back. Dr. Muraoka was straightforward and to the point when doing my exam and again, didn’t try to upsell me on filling any cavities or getting any root canals LOL. Another +100 for Jonathan who was able to squeeze me in the very next morning at 7 am after I called; he was also very professional and prompt and courteous. Since I’m in Hawaii 1-2 times a year anyway, I plan to take advantage of their house plan which as of today’s writing allows for 2 cleanings with 1 xray and exam per year for $150. Holla at a great deal everybody! Thanks Kira and Dr. Muraoka and Kaizen staff. You have a customer for life! (Even though I don’t live here LOL!)

★★★★★

I have always loved the staff here. But had some less than great work done by the previous dentist who was running this place. I was seriously considering changing dentists after that experience, but fortunately I gave them another chance and came back. A new dentist has taken over the office. He is very friendly and is a much better communicator. He took one look at my mouth, and offered to fix the work that the previous dentist had done. In my opinion, the best indicator of a good business is not that everything always goes right, but that they step up to the plate and fix things when something goes wrong. These guys got it right. I will definitely be staying with them.

I have been on the mainland for the last 7 years, and for some reason, I have not found new doctors here – with the exception of my eye doctor, because I need a yearly prescription for my near blind eyes, naw-meeean? Anyway, that means that, since I hadn’t been home for the last three years, I have not been to the dentist for that entire time. That ALSO means, unfortunately for a person who does not really take to flossing, that I had SIX CAVITIES when I recently visited Dr. Muraoka. I found GMS thanks to fellow yelpers, and I have to say, I was not disappointed. He delivered the news about my six cavities and possible root canal like a pro. For some reason, I’ve become a real pussy cat at the dentist’s office as I’ve become an adult – but his sense of humor made me feel very relaxed, and his support staff was also very very friendly and sweet. Though the situation was less than ideal, they made sure I was comfortable the entire time, talking me through what was going on – and it was over before I knew it. To top it all off – the price cannot be beat, which is especially fantastic for a poor little grad student like me. Very affordable, especially with the payment options they offer. I will certainly try to find dentists on the mainland, but whenever i’m back home, this will be my go-to dentist office.

★★★★★

I would like to say that I went into this Dental Center because I had lost my insurance coverage. I used a Groupon. Upon arrival I was treated so nice by the receptionist and when I got to see my hygienist, “Ha”, I explained exactly to her what I needed done in between each tooth, as far as removing stains as much as possible. She did the best job I have ever encountered by any hygienist. The doctor was wonderful and it was so nice too. I go to the dentist every 6 months, but had skipped 6 months this particular time. I would highly recommend going here because when I left they asked me if I wanted to make a future appointment for $49. You can’t find that anywhere on this island. A big mahalo to Kaizen Dental Center.

100 Yelp Review Challenge 2015: 110/100 I could not agree more with the rest of the 5 star reviews! My regular Dentist’s office was closed and I was experiencing gum inflammation so thanks to Yelp I found GMS Dental Center just walking distance from my office. I was able to schedule a last minute appointment within the hour. I was greeted by GMS’s receptionist who was very friendly and had me fill out medical history and HIPAA forms. I was in and out in no time! Shame on me for not having my teeth cleaned every 6 months, I was due for a cleaning so I scheduled a routine cleaning for the very next morning. Christy cleaned my teeth and had a vast knowledge on dental care so much so that I discovered new ways to treat my receded gum line. On top of her very comforting vibe she was also very careful with my sensitive teeth which is something I am always concerned about when it comes to Dentist visits…and probably a contributing factor to why I didn’t do my 6 month cleaning to begin with… Dr. Muraoka and his entire staff are super friendly, efficient and professional. They showed me the bill before the procedures to ensure that I was aware of what my insurance did and did not cover and also gave me tons of sample tooth paste for my sensitive gums along with a tooth brush and dental floss. GMS Dental Center is my new regular Dentist! And I have convinced my Fiance to schedule an appointment already. note: only downside is no validated parking, parking in downtown can be an issue. Alii Place Building on Alakea Street is only .75 cents per 1/2 hour for the first 2 hours just FYI!

★★★★★

I originally gave 5 stars upon my first and only visit for cleaning in May 2020. It’s now May 2021. I just went for my annual cleaning at a completely unassociated dental clinic (in Virginia). The subpar everything I received yesterday(equipment, cleaning, customer service, lack of aloha) made me miss everything about Kaizen! So I decided to come back and re-confirm my 5 star review for my fave dental clinic.

★★★★★

I have had very bad dental experiences in the past hence the reason why I was so hesitant to make the appointment but with Dr. Muraoka and his staff, they made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I had a  cracked wisdom tooth that was bothering me, the staff was able to work with my schedule. Needless to say the tooth needed to be pulled out. I went in this morning at 7:00 am. Dr. Muraoka was very patient, professional and ever so gentle. The process was so quick and by 7:40 am I was already on my way to work. I will definitely be coming back to get all my dental work done with Dr. Muraoka and I even made appointments for my children as well. Thank you so much!

Did the Living Social deal for Zoom Whitening. I looked at the map and thought I knew exactly where it was. Turns out I didn’t. The Ninja Sushi on Bishop, they’re in the building behind it. I looked up the process but still wasn’t exactly clear on what it would entail. It’s a little scary reading all that could go wrong on the waiver release form, but Marvalee did my whitening & she was great. First, she puts you in a lip retractor. Don’t try to help, just relax your lips. Cushioning & a barrier for your gums are added. The gel is applied & the UV light is attached to the retractor. You sit there for 15 minutes then the old gel is suctioned off, new gel on and another 15 min. They do 4 cycles. During the last two min of cycle #4 my bottom teeth became sensitive. I liked my results, it got a few shades whiter. Now the difficult part, no eating anything that could stain a white shirt for 48 hours. Well…everything can. So I ate the same white food for lunch & dinner for the next two days just to be sure. My bottom teeth became very sensitive a few hours after the appt and it didn’t seem like it was going to let up so I took Tylenol. The next day the pain was gone like nothing happened. Everyone I encountered here was so friendly. They give you a decent stock of Sensodine since the sensitivity can last for 3 days according to the aftercare handout. I was lucky mine was short lived. Kind of intense, but brief.

★★★★★

Honestly, hands down the best dental office I’ve been too. The staff is very professional and very friendly. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. The dental office itself has an amazing positive energy. Everyone treats you like family here….From start to finish it was an amazing experience. Despite my anxiety when it comes to having any type of health appointment, the dental assistant remained calm and collected and reassured me that I had nothing to worry about. The x-ray process was incredibly fast and easy! No pain what so ever. The Hygienist was awesome, she was thorough with her work and didn’t rush like other dentist places would. She even did a double checking of the work she did and that made me really appreciative that she actually cares about my teeth :). DESPITE the parking situation, the staff and doctor make it definitely WORTH it to come to this dental office. I cannot stress it enough of how these people have such amazing souls. This was my first time here and it’s definitely not going to be my last….I HIGHLY recommend that you all make your appointments here 🙂 I promise you that you won’t be disappointed

★★★★★

For so long I’ve always dreaded going to the dentist. Kaizen dental has totally changed that for me. I love coming here. The service is great and the staff is always welcoming. Dental cleanings are easy to book and they have lots of appointment times to choose from. I always book 8 am slots so I can go right before work. I have felt at some other places they tend to always add extra services or always say that I need fillings? Not sure if I really needed all that extra work before coming here. At kaizen dental they seem to take a more conservative approach and I completely trust them and their recommendations!

★★★★★

The staff were super friendly and helped me through anxiety and nervousness. I went in for a toothache and had some of my wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Muraoka and his staff genuinely cared for what I had to say and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. He even called a few hours later to check in to see how I was doing post extraction. Definitely recommend going to their office

★★★★★

Finally found an Ala Moana dentist based on their excellent website but wow, total cost $5600.00. Plus I paid $324. just for the consult and 3 x-rays. I tired another dentist but they insisted on a cleaning with first visit, “But there’s no teeth under the dentures, nothing to clean,” I said. “Sorry, it’s our policy,” she said. I decided to check out Dr Muraoka for a 2nd opinion and to see their Insurance Plan. I spoke to Sandy, who upon hearing that I broke two teeth center front, arranged an 8am appt the next day where she discussed their in-house insurance plan that would allow me to replace the well worn upper as well as the lower for half the cost. But it also worried me. My new question was: Is he a competent Dentist? Due to a childhood accident I have had root canals, implants, caps and finally full and partial dentures. What I’m saying is, I know what makes a good Dentist from the patient’s point of view. The High Priced Ala Moana dentists (free parking!) recommended extraction but said that it was up to me, and that her office didn’t do such work (!!!) I would be farmed out (for $588) to apparently a real dentist. I decided against the extraction to help offset the cost. But I wanted to speak to a real dentist with real experience first. When I told Dr. Muraoka I didn’t want them pulled, he looked at the x-rays again and said, “No. They have to come out, these could cause you problems later and these last two anchor points are vital to hold the lower bridge.” He explained in detail and I appreciate his decisiveness. I felt that I could trust him so I decided to go ahead. I hardly felt the injection. He patiently worked it very slowly, allowing it to disperse before adding more. A very gentle way to do it. I was shocked (seriously) when he said just a few minutes later, “Okay, we’ll see you next week!” I parked one building away at Century Square 1188 Bishop, 1st high rise Ewa corner of Bishop and Beretania. Pull into the first driveway, you’ll see a small sign, $3.50 per half hour. After both extractions, doing paperwork, paying the bill, etc, I pulled out of the garage and paid: $3.50! An hour later the numbness was gone, no swelling, gums a little sore of course but no real pain. Great hands! He used exactly the right amount to get the job done. So, Never mind the cost, well okay I did save 3 grand, But honestly, if you are looking for a compassionate dentist who has experience in all phases of dentistry, who is very sharp with a professional work ethic, call Sandy for an appointment. See what this young physician is about, check him out, ask questions, you’ll be so happy that you did. I’ll follow up on this when we’re all done. BTB: To the guy who complains about Doc looking like a kid; we Japanese are very fortunate to look 10 years younger then we really are, although many of us pay the price in old age when suddenly, we turn in Yoda

★★★★★

All my life I’ve been scared of the dentist . Every visit I ever had as a kid was bad root canal ,abscess tooth ,extraction all the worst procedures. I finally got my act together and decided to man up and take charge of my oral health . I chose GMS as it was offered through the carpenters union with a much better copay . But after a few visits with more extractions and fillings I’ve slowly started to get over my fears their entire staff is amazing and efficient Dr. Muraoka is quick . The most painful part of my visits have been the numbing and I’m pretty sure there’s no getting around that . I would recommend them to anyone but especially carpenters you’ll pay less to go to a great dentist . I can finally say for the first time for as long as I can remember I have no cavities and it feels great to have the weight off my shoulders

★★★★★

2 years ago after getting the most painful and a traumatic root canal I had ever experienced in my life at the Aiea location, one of my new deepest fears was the dentist office.  This is ALL changed within the last few months as I have been going to the new GMS Dental in downtown Honolulu.  As the Aiea branch had me in actual tears of severe pain I refused to ever step foot in that office again.  I am ever so grateful to be a kind of GMS Dental downtown Honolulu as they make me feel welcome and appreciate my business . The employees are pleasant, fun and personable.  I am treated with respect and leave there with a big smile on my face.  I highly recommend GMS Dental to everyone who is looking for a pain free dentist.

★★★★★

I’ve seen Dr. Muraoka for about 2 years at Kaizen Dental Center for general cleaning, 2 oral surgeries, and now a mouth guard. I have been very pleased with their work, their friendliness and staff, and even the high tech gadgets they use for all aspects of their work. What is really good about this center is that Dr. Muraoka can basically do anything. I have bruxism on my top teeth (I grind them a lot) and have been to other dentists who have told me of great procedures I will need to take to repair my teeth. Kaizen instead gave me a very direct, less invasive, and less expensive way to fix them. Because he’s a dentist, orthodontist, and oral surgeon (I actually don’t know if those are all different things, but just go with me), he can do everything in his shop. They also have a lab on site so they can get things like mouth guards and the like done in-house. At my last dentist, my mouth guard was a very long process where my dentist had to send them to another place and once he got them they weren’t quite right, so he had to send them back and it all took a really long time. I have to mention about the high tech equipment they have. I mentioned they have their own lab and can create things like mouth guards and dentures and such. But it goes beyond that. The check in process is a breeze with all the info on pads for easy check in (and more environmental approach), the scanning tech for teeth, etc. etc. I had an advice once from a healthcare professional who said “always go to a doctor who uses the old methods, and go to a dentist who uses new technology. There have been so many advances for dentistry in the past few years that make general dental work easier, cheaper, less painful, and faster, while advances in general medicine haven’t seen the same” so to me the fact that Kaizen knows and uses new tech is very important. Overall, highly recommend Dr. Muraoka and Kaizen Dental.

★★★★★

The teeth cleaning went great. I had a routine cleaning and X-rays without mishap. My hygienist was super cool. She was quick too. The music was local style reggae that I listen to in my Tacoma so I felt relaxed and at home. The dentist said all looked good. I mentioned my front crown from another dentist was pounding and grinding at times. He used occlusal tape, the finding were that yes, the crown was pounding. He grinded the crown down on the backside of the tooth. Success- my mouth felt normal. He is by far the coolest and best dentist on Oahu. Highly recommend!!! The entire team was fun!!

Couldn’t be happier! I went to Kaizen Dental Center to try out their Kaizen Aligners and I am more than impressed with the results. Like most of us, I didn’t wear my retainers and over the years my teeth began to shift ever so slightly. I began to research teeth aligners and am so happy I found out about Kaizen Dental Center’s Kaizen Aligners. They were not only affordable but also super customizable AND I was supporting local, which is always a plus. The aligners were comfortable and Dr. Eric walked me through all the adjustments that were being made. It felt like a collaborative effort because I was able to comment on some of the adjustments and Kacey made sure the aligners fit correctly before sending me home with them. Dr. Eric and his staff are incredible! Super responsive, always made me feel welcomed, and just overall pleasant people to work with. I highly recommend their Kaizen Aligners (3D printed teeth aligners) if you’re looking to straighten or re-straighten your teeth.

Dr. Muraoka saved my face! I was eating popcorn and accidentally bit into an unpopped kernel and it cracked my front tooth. (front tooth was cracked when I was a child and fixed by another dentist) I went to see Dr. Muraoka the day after I cracked it and I’m so thankful he was able to see me so quickly. Within an hour of seeing him my tooth was fixed and I want to say it was better than before! His staff was very professional and caring. Dr. Muraoka is now my regular dentist and I can’t thank him enough for fixing my face

★★★★★

Kaizen dental came as a god send. I’m embarrassed to say I actually am pretty terrible at flossing my teeth daily (ikr don’t judge me) & It had been years since I actually got a deep cleaning. You know after you have kids and life takes over you literally put yourself last! So needless to say I was in need of some dental help. I had been suffering from a gum abcess that became inflamed over a course of 3 days. During that time I was frantically looking for a Dr or clinic to take me on such short notice. I’m so grateful for Ha the front desk receptionist who kindly squeezed me in for a visit. I was seen that following Monday (I made the call on Saturday). The dentist and dental technicians were very nice and Frank with me about what I needed. So I scheduled a cleaning for a later date. They really work with people who don’t have any dental insurance. I paid for the premium package which included two cleanings per year. Totally worth it. Finding the location can be a little tricky if you’re not familiar with the downtown area. The office is tucked away in a grey building on bishop (kiddie corner to finance factor). I vow from here on out to take way better care of my teeth! Lol thank you kaizen dental!

Woke up with a toothache and was able to go online and secure an appointment first thing. Love that I didn’t have to wait for a call back or a day or two to get in. Everyone from reception on up to the dentist was friendly and professional. The office is high tech but also human. So happy to have found Kaizen. Toothache is gone by the way.

Kaizen Dental was AMAZING! From the moment I walked in the door the staff was so kind! I came in for the Glo teeth whitening treatment. I’ve heard horror stories about people whitening their teeth and leaving with painful sensitivity and having to deal with bad sensitivity even weeks after their treatment. Dr. Eric listened to my concerns and suggested the new Glo treatment that’s made for people with already sensitive teeth. I was still very skeptical, I mean whiter teeth with no pain? Sounds too good to be true! But it wasn’t! They did an awesome job of keeping me comfortable through the whole process. Once they get you all situated in this contraption that holds your lips open so your teeth are exposed (which didn’t hurt at all by the way) they do 4 rounds of 8 minutes with a blue light thing. They told me with older more traditional methods it’s only possible to whiten the front 6 teeth and you’d need to use trays for the remainder. With this they whitened all the way back to my molars! I didn’t feel any sensitivity–or what they called zings–till the 4th round and at that point they were super proactive about getting it out of my mouth right away ensuring I would leave without hurting. It seemed so quick and easy I was worried I wouldn’t be able to see results but my teeth got waaaay whiter! I could see a big difference and I couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much Dr. Eric + The Kaizen Dental Team

Called GMS Dental yesterday from a referral from my Carpenters Union. Need to fix my cracked filling I have been putting off due to busy work schedule. Receptionist was very kind and helpful on scheduling me to come visit them THE NEXT DAY! Was great since I was off today. When I arrived 10-15 mins late, they graciously help me filled up paperwork for my first visit, brought me straight to back for X-rays and examination on chipped tooth. Dr. Muraoka further consulted me about future work that I may want to consider, did the 1st half of a crown procedure and was quickly out in about a hour! Quick, easy and very friendly staff! Thx for the great 1st visit! Like most of my reviews, its all about 1st visit impressions! Mahalo and see you next month for 2nd visit.
