I just started as a new patient, and they were great. They got me an appointment for the next day, and the hygienist was affable and informative. I appreciated her explanations through all the motions, and she gave good advice for improving my cleaning habits. I look forward to my next appointment. Unlike another review mentioned, I seen not even 5 min past my appointment time.

(I am a techie in my late 30s.) I have lived in South Africa, Australia and now in Boston and frequented many dentists over my life, many of them wonderful. I have never met a team more professional, prepared and caring than this one. Over the course of 4 years I have had 3 fillings, a crown and regular 6-monthly checkups/cleans done here. My wife has had 2 fillings and regular checkups/cleans. One of us, I won’t say who, gets a little squirmy around needles. In the past this has kept them from the dentist for prolonged periods. This situation was made known to the Kappa team when a filling needed doing, and the solution suggested was remarkable: the other one of us was invited to sit beside the operating chair and hold the scaredy cat’s hand while the dentist and assistant did their work. This has now happened twice and went beautifully both times. The human touch here, the goodwill and level of care is absolutely remarkable. Here you are really seen. My regular dentist, Dr. Ghassan Khoury, is a tremendous communicator and a very kind, gentle practitioner. I am always completely relaxed and at peace during my visits with him. He is particularly thorough in applying anaesthetic before a filling for example, and asks and tests to be sure that it has taken proper effect before we begin. I feel spoiled and grateful for the attention. Dr. Misha Zahedi helped my wife with her filing yesterday. She and her assistant Alberthe were wonderful: very thorough, communicative and gentle, and so warm and kind. It must be a team thing. The dental hygienists are AWESOME!!! Cooper (hi Cooper!!) is my hygienist and it is amazing how she manages to get me through a checkup and clean given just how well we get along and how much I subsequently want to talk. Bibiana is my wife’s hygienist and they get on well too, sharing a stoic preference for silent cooperation. Since we get our cleans done at the same time, in adjacent stations, the mood is hilarious: Cooper and I chat merrily away while my wife and Bibiana haplessly listen along and giggle at our conversations. Cooper and Bibiana’s advice has changed our home dental care routines for the better: we now use a much better type of floss and have transitioned to circular motorized toothbrushes, both of which have made a big difference. Everything is always so clean here and the equipment looks super new. When my crown needed doing two years ago, I realized that the machine that mills the ceramic blank into a tooth is actually in-house here, and not at some other location as is often the case, meaning that my crown procedure required just one visit and not two. I asked if I could watch the tooth being made by the fancy robot milling machine and to my delight, they let me stand and watch. It is a cool machine. This much love for a dental team might not be common but is totally deserved. Thank you Ghassan, Thenia, Misha, Alberthe, Cooper, Bibiana, Mayka and team.

Kappa dental is very clean, new, modern. very friendly staff. No waiting. Saw dentists on scheduled appointments. Did two extractions with 2 implants and 1 crown. very comfortable.. felt great 2 days after implants. Very knowlegable and kept me informed as the procedures going on. Highly recommended.

After a horrifying experience with a children’s dentist at Cool Smiles I was desperate to find a good children’s dentist for my 5 year old who was now scared after a “rough” experience.  I came across Dr Kourhey.  He was so kind and gentle.  Also very accomodating a child who was a bit nervous.  He even lets her wear her sunglasses so the light isn’t shinging in her eyes.  He’s a great guy.  We have been with them for about 2 years now and recommend them to everyone.

I’ve been going here for years, and aside from some basic admin mix-ups, it’s been smooth sailing. As noted by many, each exam room has its own television with satellite channels, so you can tune into Food Network or HGTV whilst getting your teeth scraped. They take insurance and are pretty good about sending postcards for six month cleanings. I’ve had basic cleanings, as well as some more invasive (read: fun) surgeries. I’ve never felt pushed to do anything that made me uncomfortable or swindled for an unnecessary expensive procedure. After some surgeries, the doctors even gave me their personal phone numbers in case I had any complications or concerns. Two thumbs up! If you have to go to the dentist (and come on, of course you do), you should go to one like Kappa Dental!

Dr. Khoury is the best dentist I ever had in my long history of extensive dental work. Carie Nelson is the best hygienist. I am even coming back from another state to KD for my dental needs. These people are the most professional, considerate and courteous dentists you can find. I had numerous problems with my prior dental works that were badly failing, and over the period of my patientship with Kappa, they fixed most of them. I had root canals, oral surgeries, an implant, deep cleaning with Kappa, etc… And I’m having a hard time to find an office in another state I moved which is on par with Kappa Dental. They are simply the best.

Wonderful experience here.  Everything is nice, clean, and look new.  The doctor and hygienist are very nice and patient explaining to me what my problem is.  With accomadation like flat screen TV and massage chairs, you will feel you’re in a “five-star” dental office.  I’m so happy that I found this one after my long time search of good dentists.  They have 5 parking spaces and last time I went there, they’re all taken.  But it was not a problem because you can easily find free 2 hour street parking around.

Since Dr. Casey Cook over at Davis Square Dental is dominating yelp for reviews of Cambridge-area dentists, I feel I have to give a shout out to my own dentist, Dr. Khoury at Kappa Dental. (I’m sure Davis Square Dental is great, but Kappa needs love too.) I first went to Kappa to get a cleaning several months ago. The hygienist (whose name escapes me) was extremely nice and gentle while doing the cleaning. The chairs massage your back as well, which is at first disturbing, but then comforting. Unfortunately, I had a cavity. A week or so later I went to see Dr. Khoury to fix the cavity. He was very kind and attentive. I’ve been to too many dentists where they are yakking away to their assistants not paying any attention to the patient. Dr. Khoury (and presumably the rest of the docs there) will let you know what they are doing and make sure you are comfortable. Recently I’ve had to make a couple other trips to get various problems fixed. Every time has been a good experience, at least as good as a trip to the dentist can be. Also, the young woman who mans the front desk (JB?) is awesome. She can actually remember faces and can answer questions about insurance, appointments, payment, and all of that. Overall, it is a great place. Going to the dentist sucks but Kappa makes it tolerable.

I’ve been going to Kappa for 5 or 6 years, from back when I lived a block away on Beacon Place, to now when I trek in from the North End. Definitely worth it. The dentists really seem to care about my teeth and gums. And, I never have to wait, and there’s tv, and my hygenist is really nice. It’s the little things that keep me going back. **I am back! In the back two exam rooms, they have massaging chairs! Wow!

Adrianne M. from Minneapolis, MN (Source: Yelp)

I loved this place for nearly three years of cleanings and the occasional “hmm, this tooth hurts” check-up. The hygenists were always thorough and friendly, the rooms sparkling clean and new — and while I usually hate the television-in-every-room thing, they were always had The Food Network on! I’d leave a plaqueless and better-educated woman, eager to make some tomato sauce or roast an eggplant when I got home. Now I’ve switched jobs, and with it, health insurance: and unfortunately, this health insurance thinks 180.00 ought to cover a cleaning, just over half of what Kappa charges. Alas. Away I go.

This is my first posting on this Yelp, and I feel this is an appropriate one to start with. I first visited Dr. Khoury and Kappa Dental based on the reviews I read on this site. I had not visited a dentist in a few years, until I woke up one Saturday morning with terrible pain in my mouth. After a search on local dentists, and reading the reviews here, I called Kappa. They were able to fit me in and it turns out I had broken my tooth. As everyone else here has stated, Dr. Khoury has incredible dentist’s-chair-side manner. He walked me through what he found, what he would need to do, and all the next steps. He was very calming, and made the whole procedure (as much as this can be applied to any dental procedure) a pleasant experience. I highly recommend Kappa Dental and Dr. Khoury to anyone who is looking for an awesome dentist

Dr. Khourry is hands-down the best dentist ever. I’ve been seeing him for about a year, and he once told me that his philosophy is that he simply treats all of his patients as he would like to be treated. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for an appointment…until last week when I waited for nearly 45 minutes. I spoke to the receptionist and because I was there during my lunch break from work, we decided to reschedule for the next week. Dr. Khourry came out and personally apologized to me, saying there had been an emergency. This week, I had my re-scheduled appointment and would you believe it–he had a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates waiting for me because of my inconvenience the week before( I promised to brush after eating them) . This was touching! I mean, where else but Kappa Dental would this happen? I highly recommend this dental clinic!

I scheduled an appt. to see Dr. Khoury after reading the great reviews on yelp, and am I glad I did!  The hygienist, Carrie, was really nice and gentle.  She took the time to explain what she was doing, had me sit back in the massage chair and flip through the channels to pick what show I wanted.  It was definitely a lot better experience than any other dentist I’ve been to – I mean, I got to watch People’s Court the whole time.  Dr. khoury was also great – I told him he was a celebrity here on yelp and he was very unassuming about it – he just said “oh, we just do regular stuff here”.  I was happy to hear that I didn’t need a gum graft (like a previous dentist told me).  He said that my problem wasn’t yet that advanced and he likes to avoid surgical procedures if possible.  Excellent answer!

I have been a patient for about five years and have been very pleased with my care for dental. I recently had a cleaning and Biba was fantastic, very knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and great communication, telling me everything that was going to happen beforehand and explaining things well. I’ve had a few fillings over the last few years and I feel like they have all been well done. The office has always been very clean and the staff has always been friendly. I really appreciated getting called when another patient canceled as I needed an appointment on short notice. Sadly I am moving out of the area, otherwise I would absolutely continue going here!

Great service. The dental hygienists are very friendly, thorough, and seem to know what they are talking about. The dentists there are also very good, friendly without being too chummy, and the whole staff takes pride in doing a good job. The facilities are fantastic. The entire office is very clean, the waiting area is neat with comfortable seating, and the decor is neutral and calming. The best part about the facility is that the dentist’s chairs are also massage chairs, which made my appointment surprisingly relaxing. I just got back from a cleaning which they charged me $160 for (I don’t have dental insurance) and they threw in fluoride for free. I very much recommend using Kappa Dental Group if you are between dentists or are looking for a better dentist.

I am very impressed with this dental office. The front desk receptionist was very helpful with explaining the dental insurance breakdown. the hygeinist (Carie) was pleasant , caring and very detailed with her cleaning. Dr Khoury came to check my xrays and teeth. he was also very professional, went over my treatment options . The clinic is super clean and very friendly. iam highly recommending this dental office.

I’ve been going to this practice for years now and I just can’t understand the bad reviews, especially those who say Dr. Khoury is rude or unhelpful.  He’s always taken time to chat to me, explain what’s going on with my teeth and the work he’s doing, and he has never ever suggested that I get expensive and unnecessary dental work.  The receptionist is always accommodating to my 9-5 schedule, and they stay open late a few times a week.  The practice even sends me a holiday card every year!  In this area, I’d never go anywhere else.

One of the cleanest dental offices i have been to in Boston (this is the 3rd). Maybe they don’t have digital cameras that can blow up my tonsils the size of a 42″ TV screen, but the dentists are top-notch, reasonably priced and caring. The hygienists are extremely thorough, and did I mention that everyone is extremely friendly? I’ve been going here for years and wouldn’t switch (unless someone else paid the bills). 🙂 Oh, by the way. If you’re gums bleed – that’s a sign that you DON’T KNOW HOW TO FLOSS!!!!!! holler!

I went to Kappa Dental because of the reviews here. I was pretty desperate because of a really bad experience somewhere else (read my review on Central Square Family Dental). My doctor is Dr. Khoury and my hygienist is Carrie. At Kappa they gave me the most complete diagnosis, they came out with the best budget possible and by all means it didn’t look like they were trying to get money out of my teeth. As it was a lot of money (2 root canals, several caries, wisdom teeth) I was considering doing it abroad, and they were very understanding and willing to help with that (prepare a diagnosis, give me the Xrays, etc.). They didn’t pretend that was the only place on Earth I could get my dental work done, and they understand that dental work is just too expensive in the US. Finally my insurance covered so I got it done at Kappa (except for the wisdom teeth, which I’ll still do abroad). It has been a year and no problems so far. All the people there are super nice and professional. They tell you was going on honestly (and kindly) so you know where you are standing. Carrie has been amazing cleaning my teeth very thoroughly and explaining what were my problems and what I need to do better, plus she is super kind. Dr. Khoury is just great, very professional and attentive. What can I say, from my experience I say he knows what he is doing and he cares about your teeth. Also they have all those fancy things that other people mention here (TVs, massaging chairs, nice decor), although that’s not important for me. I must also add that the exact diagnosis I got at Kappa I also got it from other doctor in DC and another in Mexico (the number of caries and root canals, and the need for gum surgery). So they know what they are doing, they don’t make up or underestimate problems.

Kappa Dental is by far the best provider I’ve been to! Everyone was very kind and I appreciated how patient the receptionist, Majka was with me as I was having some issues with my insurance. Dr. Khoury was very easy-going and explained to me step-by-step what he was doing, which calmed me down (I’m not usually a fan of dental work). I would highly recommend Kappa Dental!

I first went to Kappa dental because the bond came off of my chipped tooth. I changed providers and therefore my old dentist wasn’t covered anymore. They fit me in that day, and I had a fantastic experience. I saw Dr. Kazou my first time, and she very patiently and kindly described everything that she would do. She seemed to take a lot of time explaining this to me, working on the tooth to make sure it looked perfect, and making me feel at ease. I went back a week later for a cleaning. Again everyone was very friendly. The hygienist I had was extremely thorough in describing what she found in my mouth, what was good and bad, and did a great job cleaning. Dr. Khouri saw me that day, and while he seemed like he was busy, he spent the time needed checking my mouth, and then later adjusting the new bonded tooth a little as I said it needed some filing. Overall I have been highly impressed with their service and facilities!

I put off going to the dentist for something like 8 years – needless to say I needed to have some work done. I am one of those people who needs a handful of sedatives before even considering going to the dentist – i knew my insurance didn’t cover sedation dentistry, so I looked elsewhere and found Kappa, what drew me in were the flat screen TVs – but whats kept me going after now my 4th (Still terrified but I make it each time!) visit in 3 months is Dr. Khoury – he is so gentle, understanding and patient. His “chair side” manner is amazing and he does everything to make sure I don’t feel uncomfortable and continue to come back. Now I’m proud to say I only have 3 more cavities to fill and and I’m up to date! If it weren’t for Kappa I would have never have made it past the first appointment.

Came here after seeing how close this place was to my house– just down the street– and reading the reviews on Yelp. I was way overdue for a visit to the dentist. And I ended up thrilled by my experience here. Everyone was friendly and helpful in scheduling, giving me insurance info, and working with my schedule. I liked the idea of the TVs, but as others have pointed out, you can’t watch them when you’re reclining in the chair. Kind of makes them pointless. I grew up with a dentist who placed TVs on the ceiling with closed captioning. Kappa might want to think about a setup like that instead. Dr. Khoury took care of my fillings. He was fantastic, very personable, gentle, and he took care to explain everything he was doing every step of the way. He made me feel as comfortable as possible during a highly UNcomfortable process. And the fillings took less than an hour! Color me impressed.

I have a history of anxiety about the dentist, and this is the best dental office I have ever visited. Dr. Khoury is so kind and has incredible expertise that put me at ease when I visit. The dental hygienists are terrific as well! So far, I have had several cleanings, cavities filled, a crown put on, and a wisdom tooth pulled here and everything has been the BEST experience. I highly recommend this office–talented, compassionate, and very personal care. They even do very late afternoon and Saturday appointments, which is helpful if you work during the weekdays.

This is honestly the best dental care I have ever had.  Beautiful, clean office with TV’s to help take your mind off of the work being done.  Great assistants.  Dr. Khoury is wonderful and very sensitive to all kinds of patients.  Also, the reception and admins there are amazing – the best I have ever worked with at a dental or doctor’s office.  They are completely on top of things and provide excellent service.  I highly recommend this practice to any one.  They do phenomenal work!

I had a great experience at this Dental office. The receptionist were very friendly and helpful. I must have called about fifteen times to figure out my insurance and they were very patient about it. The office itself is very clean. There are TV in every room while you wait or get work done. All of the technology is very up to date. Dr. Kourey was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and gentle. I had a very deep cavity and I did not feel a thing. He also made me feel comfortable which can be hard when there is a drill coming straight at you! Also, I was able to make an appointment very easily and within the same week which I appreciated!
