I like the personal care that Dr. Kusuhara provides. She does all the work herself, so you know you are going to see her each and every time you visit. Dr. Kusuhara is trustworthy, and will give you an honest opinion of what work is needed – even if, when providing a second opinion, it means that no treatment is required. The patient’s health and best interest comes first with Dr. Kusuhara. I moved to Orange County, but still drive to Northridge for my continuing periodontal care, because I trust that I’m in good – and gentle – hands at Karey Kusuhara Family Dentistry.

Been coming to Dr. Kusuhara for close to 15 years now.  She is not only personable, but is the consummate professional.  She really takes the time to get the job done right, whether it’s a routine cleaning or   a tooth restoration.  Dr. Kusuhara is honest and forthright.  She’s never used pressure tactics to up sell myself or my family on unnecessary products or procedures like I’ve experienced with other dentists before coming here.  Very accommodating and she completes all procedures herself, even cleanings.  This gives me the utmost confidence that I’m receiving the best possible dental care available.

There is no one more open to listening and serving the needs of a patient than Dr. Kusuhara. She has demonstrated a knack for maintaining health and the cosmetic goals of the patient. She’s the diamond in the rough that will soon be too hard to book. Everything about her services were easy and painless. When I think about dental services that’s always a top priority.

Love Dr K! She’s one of a small handful of So Cal dentists who use Icon (no drilling, no shots) to treat white spots that can be caused by orthodontic braces and to treat VERY early cavities. We searched high and low for a competent and caring doctor, luckily all that research landed us at Dr Kusuhara’s practice. She’s made my teenage son custom fluoride trays to remineralize his teeth to prevent his white spots becoming cavities. Office staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Asia! We truly love coming to this office and there’s no longer a fear associated with going to the dentist! The 30 mile drive to the office flies by when we know we will receive outstanding service upon our arrival! Look no further than here!

My family and I have been going to Dr. Kusuhara for more than 20 years now. She is so wonderful. She cares about her patients.  She always does a great job.  Even though, I am now more than 50 miles away. I still come back to see her.  It is so hard to find another dentist as good and nice as Dr. Kusuhara. I would definitely recommend my friends to go to her.

Dr. Kusuhara has been our family dentist for over 25 years. We have always been pleased with her gentle and thorough care. She does everything herself for your teeth, so she knows your mouth well. Go to her if you want a great dentist. You won’t be disappointed!

Except for a 5-year period where I used another dental clinic due to an employer’s quirky requirements, Dr. Kusuhara has been my dentist since 1994, and my daughter’s dentist for about 11 years. Highly recommended for regular family dentist services. You will be treated by Dr. Kusuhara your entire visit, unlike so many clinics that delegate tasks like teeth cleaning to a technician.

I just finished having Dr. Kusuhara give me a cleaning and exam. She was so professional, and extremely kind. She told me about some light-ortho work which should get done. I am truly frightened of dentists, yet Dr. Kusuhara put me completely at ease, and believe it or not, the cleaning and exam were painless!! I am coming back in two weeks, but coming back without any fear!!! I will recommend Dr. Kusuhara’s office to anyone who needs an excellent dentist.

I thought I was going to the dentist and ended up in the chair with an engineer. Before any work was done Dr. Kusuhara was very comforting by stepping out from the back to sit and chat about what we would be doing. This in itself relieved a ton of anxiety and from there on it felt like Dr. Kusuhara was doing the work of an angel. She was very gentle, thorough, and creative. These are just a few words- I could go on and on. To make a long story short, I needed pretty extensive dental work and If you could see my smile now, you would be able to see how much happiness Dr. Kusuhara has brought me. Really looking forward to continuing my relationship with her and looking forward to good health. PS I come all the way from the Bay to see her… she is that good.

I needed an emergency extraction for one of my wisdom teeth, it had gotten infected in such a horrible place. 3 doctors looked at it and said I need a surgeon to get it out, two of them didnt even bother looking at it and were satisfied with the Xray. I called Dr. K to see if she can extract it, since every surgeon I call wants to wait for next week or the following month, and she asked me to send her a photo of my Xray. She took few mins to look at it, then told me she will try to do it, but it may not be so simple. I go in the same day and she works me again that the tooth might break but she will do her best to take it out as whole. I agreed and she gqve me those local anesthesia shots and that was pretty smooth (it must have been at least four because she didnt want me to feel a thing). Within 5 mins the tooth was out like a rabbit from a magician’s hat. Her method was so simple and effective, when she was done I didnt feel a thing. There was not even a pull on the tooth. I am still amazed by that move and thankful to Dr. K for taking that tooth out. The best part was, she made is seem so easy and met me half way with a very friendly chat.

Dr. Kusuhara has been our family dentist for as long as I can remember. Five years ago, during a cleaning appointment, she was completing her general health check and noticed that I had a lump in my neck. She advised me to immediately contact my doctor and get it checked. It turned out I had Thyroid Cancer and Dr. Kusuhara had found it during her exam. I was 27 and the type of nodule I had was prone to metastasize. Dr. Kusuhara has always been on the cutting edge of dental training and research. Because of her dedication to bringing in the best practices and tools for her patients, she caught my cancer early and may have saved my life. I cannot recommend Dr. Kusuhara more if you want a dentist that cares for her patients and provides services that go above and beyond the standard.

The waiting room is very nicely done and very comfortable with excellent reading material. The doctor is very friendly with very interesting conversation. Time goes by quickly when I’m there. She does excellent work always and painlessly. Everything is well explained in layman’ terms and I’m more than satisfied with this office.

Dr. Kusuhara is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend has had terrible dental issues from a very early age. His teeth are his biggest insecurity and because of this, he feels embarrassed and uncomfortable in most dental offices. However, for Dr. Kusuhara he drives to see her from SF to LA! Dr. Kusuhara genuinely cares about her clients from both an aesthetic and health perspective. She is above and beyond thorough- she isn’t just trying to get the job done and move on to the next like so many other dentists we have been to. She takes her time examining her client and communicating next steps and procedures. Something that is very apparent and that we really  appreciate is her emphasis and concern for her client’s overall health. She really wants to make sure she is getting her clients to their best dental health for their overall health well-being. In addition, she also wants to make sure you walk out feeling confident. On our first visit to her office she prepped my boyfriend for his implant. We were under the assumption that he would be toothless until his mouth was ready to take the implant in a few months or that he would have a denture-like flipper…. this was not the case. Dr. Kusuhara took her time creating a temp. non removable implant that looks 100% just like his real tooth! There are no words for how amazing she made him feel being able to walk out of her office with pride! Lastly, Dr. Kusuhara also gives the BEST teeth cleaning… to the point where it looks as if she has whitened your teeth! Many of our dental cleanings have been rushed, however, not at Dr. Kusuhara’s! We cannot recommend Dr. Kusuhara enough and really feel honored to be a part of her dental family. We look forward to our journey of health and beautiful teeth with her!

My son age 5 loves coming to the dentist for the simple fact that she’s amazing she takes well care of him and his teeth making sure there’s no sugar bugs he feels comfortable and special every time.

Dr. Karey Kusuhara has been my dentist for about 5 years now.  She’s thorough yet gentile. For some reason it was difficult for me to find a dentist that wasn’t super expensive, that wasn’t painful and who was honest.  Dr. Kusuhara met those needs and the staff is always friendly and helpful when it came to my insurance changing over the years.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Kusuhara for over 10 years. She is meticulous in her work and it is noticeable. She does all her own work, even cleanings, versus other practices where a dentist may examine you for 5 minutes or less and then have a hygienist perform the remainder of the cleaning. Extremely personable and has a pleasant demeanor. Always has a smile. We are extremely grateful to have such a caring professional like Dr. Kusuhara as our Family Dentist and we look forward to many more years in her care’
