I LOVE Dr. Spillman! I can’t go to any dentist. I don’t like going to the dentist. I wish I didn’t have to go the dentist at all – but as it turns out, I need a lot of dental work. And I need a dentist I can TRUST and one who is very gentle, confident, skilled, and communicative to keep me calm and actually IN THE CHAIR while the work gets done. Dr. Spillman is all of these things and more. She is great at her job – she teaches me about my teeth and discusses the best course of action for my dental care. She puts me at ease and cares about my level of comfort during any procedure, plus she knows what she’s doing and gets it done with precision and expertise. I feel so grateful to have found a dentist who is supremely professional and committed to excellent dental work AS WELL AS one who CARES about me as a person and makes the whole experience of going to the dentist so much more enjoyable. I was with her predecessor, Dr. Teri Gibson, for 33 years. I was crushed when Dr. Gibson retired. I felt safe and genuinely cared for, which is why I stayed with her. Dr. Spillman’s office is very welcoming and relaxed, and her staff is friendly and professional. Dr. S is truly gifted with her hands, her knowledge and her manner. She knew that I was anxious, anticipating pain, and she went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. She described what was coming next, even suggesting that I close my eyes so I didn’t see the syringe. When it was all over, having felt nothing, I said to her that I have had manicures that were more painful! My children have ‘graduated’ from their pediatric dentist and I will definitely bring them here. What a find, right in the heart of Westwood, West Los Angeles

Dr. Spillman is as good as it gets. I screened and reviewed 45 doctors (not kidding) each one with have some billing scam or trying to get you to do treatments that were not needed. Just as I was about to give up, I stumbled on her I decided to give her a shot. One of the best choices I have ever made. The last dentist that I had seen for 3 years did such a bad job with cleaning that I wound up developing periodontic decay which caused my teeth to start moving. Despite the rather large gap, my former dentist wanted to do bonding to fill the gap. Dr. Spillman correctly identified the problem and made a point of explaining and showing what had happened. I wound up needing two gum surgeries, a year of orthodontics, 3 cavities filmed and a new crown. She is seriously awesome. Bringing my 80 year old pop to see her now too. Thanks Dr. S!!! xoxoxoxo!

As a kid, I had no qualms about going to the dentist. That has changed! As an adult, it is not something I enjoy or want to deal with. I must say that after visiting Dr. Spillman, my adult anxieties about the dentist chair are gone. Dr. Spillman is extremely patient, gentle, honest, and thorough. Dr. Spillman takes the time to discuss the condition of your teeth with you. She will decipher what treatments or procedures are urgent vs. those that she would like to monitor over time. I feel at ease with Dr. Spillman and the entire office staff. They are not after your money, just good oral health!

Dr. Spillman is the best dentist I’ve ever had. She’s skilled, kind and super personable. Had two fillings today and there was zero pain. She has a special technique and gave me the shot today without me feeling it…not even a pinch. What I like best is that since she knows I have dental anxiety she goes out of her way to make sure I’m feeling o.k. before, during and after the procedure. She gives lots of explanations of what she is doing and why. A big plus is that she doesn’t try to up-sell. I’ve had plenty of dentists before that want to do unnecessary cosmetic procedures. She just wants your teeth to be healthy. But, she can also make them pretty if you want…ask the bonding on my front tooth! Everyone in the office is also super welcoming and highly competent. Street parking can be tight, but there is a parking structure around the corner from the office and on Lindbrook Dr. that has parking ($6.50). The restaurants in the complex downstairs from her office are good (I think its Italian Express) if you’re hungry after the appointment

Dr. Spillman is the type of dentist that you would send your entire family to (in fact, much of my family goes to her!) She is beyond knowledgeable, offers conservative treatment, and makes the process soothing and comfortable. My 25 year old bonding was yellow and had a cavity. Most other dentists wanted to do veneers but she just quickly and painlessly replaced my bonding and matched it to my teeth. It looks amazing! She is honest and very hard working and will only do the work that you need. She has a boutique practice with incredibly talented and dedicated staff as well. She has golden hands!

When dealing with a dental practice, being welcomed, treated and cared for by a professional and very courteous office and staff is crucial. Dr. Spillman, her front desk personnel, hygienists and dental assistant provide exactly that – a professional, caring, personable and most importantly informative atmosphere. Whether I get a teeth cleaning or a filling, everybody always ensures my comfort, keeping me updated on what is being or needs to be done providing any explanation I require. I appreciate the smaller, personal office, where I am not a number but a person, people know me when I arrive and the goal is the best care, not getting it done the fastest, while putting each patient at ease. Dr. Spillman ensures my comfort and that I am aware of what procedure is necessary; she is attentive to detail and provides follow-up care. My dental cleaning sessions reflect the same competency and attention to detail. Side note – ensure you come early enough to adjust for UCLA traffic and find street parking; call the office if you have an issue; they are able to make a recommendation close by. And – you might enjoy a stroll or bite in beautiful Westwood village after your appointment!

Karina Spillman, DDS, a dentist practice based in the Westwood Village area of Los Angeles, CA, close to UCLA is committed to offering advanced dental treatment in a clean, eco-friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We view our patients to be the most valuable asset and strive to treat everyone like family. We understand that our patients' time is valuable which is why we offer prompt appointments and convenient business hours. We merged our practice with Dr. Teri Ann Gibson, DDS in June of 2015 and moved to our convenient West Los Angeles location. Dr. Karina Spillman grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Upon graduation from Birmingham High School she attended the University of Southern California as an undergraduate. She then continued her studies at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in their 3 year accelerated dental program. In 2005 she married her sweetheart Darin and now they have two beautiful children. Jordi was born in 2007 and Emme followed in 2009. She enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, reading, traveling, cooking, and entertaining. She really loves being a dentist and the intricate work and detail it involves. She values the connections that she forms with her patients and looks forward to seeing them year after year. She puts her heart and soul into the practice and treats all her patients with the utmost care.
