I found Dr. Kati for our third daughter.  Life was too hectic for me to shop around for orthodontists for her 2 older sisters.  I took them to another orthodontist in Thousand Oaks, who was very good, just not as good as Dr. Kati.  Dr. Kati gives a level of service and caring that surpasses any other doctor we have gone to.  She does not rush you. She is a perfectionist and passionate about what she does. She caringly explains even the most difficult concepts. Her office communicates so well with other offices, too. My daughter will need jaw surgery.  Dr. Kati took the time to truly consider who she thought would be the best oral surgeon and gave me several suggestions and also gave me very helpful advice on health insurance considerations which saved me hours of frustration.  During our consult, the oral surgeon called her and they spoke about the case in detail.  Any time I call her office I have a positive experience. If you are considering getting braces for your child, there are many great orthodontists in the area.  I want to tell you that I visited four of the other most recommended and they were lovely.  You need to know that Dr. Kati was the best, though!  Visit her once and you will understand.  Good luck.

Dr. Asgarifar and her staff have been wonderful.  Our 2 daughters have had braces and oral care for the past 2years.  Their teeth look amazing and we are very pleased with the results.  Dr. Asgarifar was very honest, concerned and helpful with our teenage children.  We will be having her continue to treat our other child when he is ready for braces.  I highly recommend Dr. Asgarifar and her office for orthodontic care.

My daughter has been seeing Dr Kati for almost 2  years.  She is a a great orthodontist who takes her time, explains everything and makes sure that my daughter is comfortable.  Her office always runs on time and her staff is excellent; responsive and courteous.  I live over 15 miles away from this office, but drive there every six weeks to make the appointments.  Thanks Dr Kati and staff!

I never had braces as a kid – my teeth “weren’t bad enough” for braces, but as I got older they began to crowd on the bottom and my front two teeth on top were off by just a few millimeters. I was 22 when I started considering Invisalign, and I knew one thing: I didn’t want braces. Call it insecurity or vanity, but I didn’t want adult braces. I originally went to the orthodontist my two siblings had used, but he made me uncomfortable. His bedside manner was off-putting and he was harsh; I’ve always hated the dentist and I figured for something as expensive as Invisalign when you need to see your dentist so often… You may as well like them! I found Dr. Asgarifar on Yelp and from our first time meeting I was completely at ease. She’s was kind, so welcoming, and calmed all of my nerves. She was never mean or intimidating even though I’m sure she knew at our first appointment I wasn’t a “regular flosser.” At our first consultation I immediately signed on for the Invisalign treatment with her – you get a discount (5% I think?) if you pay in full. (Side note but I also really liked her office. It’s well designed, minimalist, very clean. She changed staff during my time getting Invisalign and I liked both sets.) I got my Invisalign on in September 2015. They put teeth-colored (off white/ “clear”) brackets on your teeth that act as anchors for the Invisalign trays to move your teeth week by week. You get three sets of trays at a time, and you wear each one for two weeks. Every six weeks you go back and get three new sets of trays. That first week… Ouch. It’s painful as your mouth and teeth get use to the feeling of being moved and constrained in trays. I remember telling my friend that if it felt this bad the whole time I was getting my Invisalign done, I didn’t think I could handle it. Luckily, the pain went away within the first week. As clunky as the trays feel in your mouth at first, you get use to them and I would catch myself forgetting they were in. (I’d have a moment of panic like, “Where did I leave my trays!?” And then realize, “…they’re in my mouth.”) Like I said, you wear each retainer for two weeks. But if you notice your teeth haven’t moved with the retainer by the end of the two weeks, leave it in another week. I did this several times when my teeth weren’t moving quickly. Also, she’ll give you plastic bite sticks to help “bite” your teeth in place while wearing the retainer – use them. This, and actually wearing your retainers 24/7, is the best piece of advice I can give to someone who wants Invisalign. If you don’t wear your retainers for 22+ hours a day, every day, your teeth won’t move properly. Originally I was told I had 20 trays to get through. Dr. Asgarifar was clear that it’s really rare for this first bunch of trays to be “it” – because Invisalign is not as aggressive as metal braces and she can’t manually move your teeth, you may need to retake your molds and get all new trays for another “phase.” I was able to be done after my 20 trays! No re-doing molds and getting new trays for me! I 100% attribute it to wearing my retainers all day, every day; using the bite sticks; and being better at flossing (if you don’t floss and there’s no “room” between teeth, they can’t move). I officially finished my Invisalign process yesterday! I now only have to wear my retainers at night. I feel so confident about my teeth and I owe it all to Dr. Asgarifar! Like I said, I’ve always hated going to the dentist because it gives me anxiety – but she’s really the nicest dentist (or Doctor) I’ve ever met. She makes you feel so comfortable and gets to know each patient individually. If you’re thinking about getting Invisalign, definitely go to her for a consultation. She’s very upfront about what to expect, if Invisalign is right for you, and can give you a realistic time frame for the procedure.
