Please read this review!! I can not express adequately enough how grateful my family is for Dr Kieffer and his entre staff especially how caring they all are and it starts at the top with him. We have had both our sons go to Dr Kieffer with excellent care and service over the past 6 years yet that is nothing compared to how he literally saved our youngest son from hours of delay or possible missed diagnosis after he fell off his skateboard chin first and broke his jaw in 4 places. I didn’t think about orthodonture right away until my son was complaining about the retainer hurting his mouth as we were driving to the ER late Thursday night 5/15. I literally was walking into the ER when Dr Kieffer called me right back after my wake up call to him and he organized the care with the hopsital, opened his office at 12:30 AM just for us, and then treated my son and sent us down to Childrens Hospital to get the special treatment my son needed. He saved us hours of confusion and aggravation to make sure our son was getting exactly what he needed and went way beyond any expectations I had when I called him. I promised I would call him with an update and he called us just as our son was getting out of surgery to check on him. Unbelievable Dr with a great staff and his repuation is known throughout San Diego Medical Community. Our Plastic Surgeon told me to tell him hello and what a grreat Orthodontist he is. We couldn’t agree more and just want everyone to know who is looking for an Orthodontist that they will not find anyone better anywhere. Thank you Dr Kieffer!!

I have been going here since I was a kid and have gotten care that has surpassed what is expected. The whole team is super friendly and professional and they all are amazing at what they do. It is so welcoming being a patient here as the staff is always friendly and very gentle they make the entire experience of getting orthodontic work enjoyable. Dr.keiffer is an expert at his craft and is a perfectionist when it comes to your smile. He will go above and beyond to make sure you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted. I went through a round of braces at his office and could not be happier with my smile. He even helped my family by lowering the price when he knew we couldn’t afford it. I can’t say enough good things about this place and truly if your looking for a perfect smile this is the best place to go for it.

Dr. Kieffer first saw our son two years ago to check on his teeth & see what may be in store for him. I like that he waited until now when all of Aidens baby teeth have fallen out & recently got braces 2 months ago. The staff is always very welcoming. We haven’t waited more than a few minutes from our original appt. time. They are always available to answer questions & we couldn’t be happier. A few years ago, I decided I wanted to make a change in my life to improve the alignment of my teeth for a better overall smile – in my 40’s nonetheless! You and your staff from the beginning made me feel comfortable and provided clear guidance explaining the overall process and goals of Invisalign program. As a busy working executive, I first found it personally difficult to commit to the daily process of wearing alongside the required attachments – some days better than others, etc. To make a long story shorter, with the help of some coaching / good advice from Dr. Kieffer and Debbie, I got back on track wearing my Invisalign everyday until I completed the program this April 2019. I am grateful for my new smile and extremely pleased with the refinements that Dr. Kieffer provided working hand in hand with my local dentist, Dr. Knutzen. All 3 of my kids have been going to Dr.Keiffer for years. He is an excellent orthodontist and is always in the best interest of the patient. He did a 3d X-ray on my daughter for her teeth,and found out that she had swollen adenoids,tonsils, and wasn’t breathing properly out of her nose. He referred us to an ENT who then suggested surgery to help her. He was the first dr. to realize this after years of her having sleep,speech, and breathing problems. He also looks at the whole body including the way you breath, swallow, and posture to help understand why the teeth are the way they are. I highly recommend Dr.Keiffer. Even our ENT’s were impressed by his fancy X-ray and the fact that he was able to notice what was going on in my daughter’s ears,nose, and throat.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kieffer’s office for the last 2.5 plus years for the purpose of putting on Invisalign on my teeth. Dr. Kieffer and his whole staff from receptionists to technicians have been great, always on time with getting me in, listens to your concerns and responds promptly, and Dr Kieffer has been available after hours a couple of times when I needed assistance. He is a perfectionist when it comes to making sure the Invisalign product and process produces the outcome that one expects in straightening out your teeth and bite. I highly recommend Dr. Kieffer and his staff if you need braces or Invisalign for your teeth. I was very pleased with my outcome.

I had pretty bad TMJ problem and had visited many orthodontists to get consultation. I couldn’t find one whom I could trust for almost 3 years. I was referred to Dr. Kieffer by my dentist when I first move to SD. He made me feel very comfortable and explained to me the treatment plan in great details. His staff was very nice and professional. I saw the change in my bite within the first 3 weeks of treatment. I just finished my treatment a month ago. We personally visited all of the well-known pediatric orthodontists when we moved here from Australia in 2015. My daughter was 8 at the time and her mouth was a mess! The x-rays looked like the inside of a shark’s mouth, with teeth immediately behind one another or jutting straight out of her gum in addition to some protruding gum issues. She had been wearing an expander in Australia and the treatment plan was extensive and complicated. Dr Kieffer’s treatment plan was quite different from everyone else’s but my gut instinct was to go with him. He had a different vision and interpretation for what was happening with my daughter’s mouth. It was the best decision I could have made! He’s fixed her protruding gum already and he planned in advance for eventualities that would have been detrimental to her progress, but could be expected as she grew. No one else had the foresight that he has demonstrated. We adore every person in that office. They have taken exceptional care of my daughter and they are all a delight to be around. We couldn’t be happier.

At 60 years old, I’m not a typical orthodontist patient. After an unsatisfactory experience with another orthodontist, I was referred to Dr. Kieffer. Besides being one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, he has impressive skill and resourcefulness, and was willing to work with my idea of cosmetic perfection. He was able to straighten my teeth using a combination of clear braces and ‘aligners’ where I had the least amount of discomfort for the least amount of time with the most amazing results! I was only in actual braces for 6 months. The staff are all delightful and feel like family. In fact, my adult daughter was so impressed that she is now in aligners herself!

We are so impressed with the level of skill and service we have experienced at Kieffer Orthodontics. Dr. Kieffer’s approach to each patient (we currently have three patients with Dr. Kieffer) is customized and detailed to their individual orthodontic situation. Dr. Kieffer does not believe in quick fixes, he is very patient with the best result. For example, my son had a stubborn tooth in his jawline. Dr. Kieffer brought the tooth into place slowly and saved the tooth. In some orthodontic offices, I am sure that we would have been advised to remove the tooth and put in an implant. But, we are thrilled that Dr. Kieffer took the time and used his expertise to save the natural tooth! In addition to Dr. Kieffer’s outstanding skills, his staff are all highly experienced and skilled. They work well together. The staff are always very friendly and the kids enjoy talking to them. The front desk staff are very professional and are dedicated to ensure that patients feel welcome. They are excellent at working with our busy schedule to schedule our appointments. The kids enjoy coming in and looking to see which “contest game” the front staff have going. We are extremely happy with Kieffer Orthodontics and highly recommend them!!!

We were referred to Dr Kieffer by our dentist and I brought my son to his practice three years ago with super uneven teeth, plus the fact that three tooth was missing! After about two years coming once a week to this fantastic, friendly environment with everybody smiling and being super helpful my son has amazing beautiful smile and I can’t even believe it’s the same teeth when he first walked in. Dr Kieffer is the best and he knows how to do his job in the best way, I would recommend him to everybody who needs any level orthodontist work, I know my son’s was a challenge in which he did absolutely amazing. When I first came to Dr.Kieffer at age 11, not only were my teeth aesthetically displeasing, but also physically painful. In order to fully paint the picture and describe the severity of my teeth, my classmates accurately deemed the nickname ‘Snaggletooth’. Still, at age 22, my teeth are the topic of conversation. But this time, it’s a good thing! Even complete strangers stop to complement me on my “Perfect” smile. A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR
Our mission is to provide top quality service that brings outstanding results and beautiful smiles. We utilize Invisalign therapy and clear ceramic braces. I was fortunate to grow up in the North County of San Diego. I attended USDHS and Palomar Junior College. Subsequently, I transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. I then graduated from dental school in 1991 from the University of the Pacific with a degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. I continued my studies at the University of Southern California where I earned a degree in Orthodontics and a license to practice the art exclusively. During this time, I underwent Orthodontic Therapy myself, both to correct my bite and gain some perspective on the experience of braces. After graduating from Orthodontic Residency, I went to work with my father, a practicing Orthodontist for thirty years. I later purchased his practice and continue to work with a number of colleagues in the fields of Invisalign, TMJ, Growth and Development, and Speech Therapy. In March of 2008, I earned the designation as a lifetime Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. I continue an active membership with the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American and California Dental Associations, and I am a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. I take over 30 hours of continuing education each year and remain current with the latest technological advances in the orthodontic field. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Karen, and our four children. I love the outdoors and my hobbies include surfing, golf and other sports.
