Dr.Kooning is the best!  He’s one of those dentists that can make you feel at ease instantaneously upon meeting him.  He’s efficient, does not do unnecessary work-even if that meant more money in his pocket.  He is 100% about YOUR needs and nothing else.  Honest, talented and respectful is how I would describe him.  Impeccable professionalism!

This Dentist office is top notch! The staff are warm and welcoming. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed into the office. When I sat down to start my appointment the staff made sure I was comfortable. The office uses top of the line technology and seems to be on the cutting edge of dentistry, at least compared to my prior experiences. Dr Kooning is kind and compassionate and made sure to take the time to allow me to understand my treatment plan in a way I understood.

Everything about this experience was positive from the clean and welcoming waiting area to the attentive, friendly and courteous staff to the competence ad professionalism of the hygienist and Dr Kooning himself. The “whats” and “whys” of both procedures being done during this visit and restorative procedures recommended were clearly explained. Also welcome was the absence of what I would characterize as “oversell”, that is a hyper aggressive pitch to project every dental imperfection into some kind of potential future catastrophe unless some major restorative procedure was done within a few days. No, none of that here. The two recommended restorative procedures, one of which I am having done next week, both seem necessary and the rationale for doing each was clearly explained by Dr Kooning and supported by visual x-ray evidence that even a lay person could understand.

Dr Kooning and his team are exceptionally professional and are very much aware of my fear of dentist but they put my mind and fears at ease when I relocated and needed to find a new dentist. This really is an amazing group here. And I’ve had to have some work done and I don’t have those fears anymore. They walk me through the procedure and even hold my hand ha ha and I’m in my 50s so it’s taken me this long to finally feel comfortable going. That’s why I wanted to take the time to put five stars on yelp

This is a great office if you are looking for a highly competent dentist and a wonderful staff.  It’s so important to feel comfortable while in the chair and this office just puts you at ease.  They have all the high tech goodies, yet have also mastered good, old fashioned customer service.  Even better – no upselling.  If Dr.  Kooning says you need it done – you do.

My family has been with Dr. Kooning Family Dentistry since the beginning of the practice. Even though we haven’t lived in Lake Oswego the past 5 years we still go back because we love the service. The professionals at the clinic really care about their patients. From appointment setting to dental care the process is easy and friendly. Yesterday was my 2x yearly cleaning and I also had x-rays done. Guillermo was professional and friendly. The whole staff was following state and CDC guidelines to the T. This is a wonderful practice I was fortunate enough to discover in LO. Dr. Kooning, through his clear communication, and empathy, and great technical work, earn my highest recommendation. Additionally, I was very impressed by my cleaning as the dental hygienist’s attention to detail and time spent was truly exceptional. During a follow up and crown placement, Dr. Kooning’s team assured that I was comfortable, and they made every effort to communicate clearly. I highly recommend Dr. Kooning and his practice for its excellent support staff as well as his dental technicians and hygienists.

Dr.Kooning and his staff are absolutely amazing! Best part for me is that they bend over backwards to accommodate my busy schedule. Always fitting me in, even last minute. Best dental practice in the Portland area. I have been a patient of the Kooning Family Dentistry family for 2 years. It started with Dr Kooning and the team doing a complicated root canal and crown in which I was denied by other Dr’s, and was suggested to just “get an implant and pull the tooth” Dr Kooning and his team went above and beyond to disclose my risks and informed me they would be able to save the tooth. Dr. Kooning and his team were incredibly sensitive to me and prescribed a sedative, antibiotics, and when I had symptoms from the antibiotics they got me medication for that too. The procedure was painless and I was basically asleep the whole time! Dr Kooning actually produces the crowns there in office which is incredible! Of course I returned to him to have professional whitening done for my wedding. I have calcium deposits and have been told my whole life I would always have those unsightly white and yellow bright spots on my teeth. Dr Kooning and his team of amazing hygienists let me know on the spot that they could actually give me the smile I have always dreamed of in a matter of hours. Not only did they whiten my teeth, they applied composite on those pesky spots and I have never felt more beautiful. I never thought I would be someone who did not have those yucky spots on my teeth and they went over and above to squeeze me into their schedule just so I would have perfect teeth for my wedding. Dr Kooning, his assistants, and his administrative staff are nothing short of a dental miracle. I have moved to Seattle since being their patient and STILL return to Lake Oswego to see them.
